Curtis Sliwa Tells 9/11 Families to Stop Being ‘Sore Losers’ Over Mamdani

Apparently, the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks now comes with a new rule: You are allowed to remember the nearly 3,000 Americans murdered by Islamist terrorists, but apparently not to complain about the Islamist mayor attending the ceremony.

Former mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa told relatives of 9/11 victims Thursday to “stop being sore losers” after some families launched a petition urging New York City Mayor, comrade Zohran Mamdani, to stay away from this year’s Ground Zero commemoration.

“He’s the mayor. Stop being sore losers!” Sliwa told reporters Thursday. “You knew this is Zohran Mamdani. He was never a fake, phony, fraudulent, fugazi like a lot of politicians. He told you who he was.”

That is certainly one way to put it. 

Some relatives of the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks have backed a petition asking Mamdani not to attend the ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the attacks, which killed 2,977 people.

Giovanni Galante, whose 29-year-old wife, Grace Catherine Galante, was killed on 9/11 and who helped organize the petition, accused Mamdani of failing to “meaningfully acknowledge the horror” of the attacks and associating with people who have minimized them. 

[In fact, on the day of the Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel, Mamdani's wife, Rama Sawaf Duwaji, like a post from The Slow Factory account that included images from the assault. It showed a bulldozer breaching the Gaza-Israel barrier and terrorists on a captured IDF vehicle. An overlaid text of the image said: "Resisting apartheid since 1948," and "Systemic change for collective liberation." The next day, she like posts from The People's Forum (associated with Times Square protests involving Democratic Socialists of America and their buddies.) These promoted standing with "Palestinian resistance," along with the "from the river to the sea" slogan. In February 2024, after a NY Times investigation into sexual violence during the attack, Duwaji liked a post referring to reports of Hamas rapes as a "mass rape" hoax that was "fabricated" by The Times. Mamdani never condemned his wife's words.]

Cheri Sparacio, whose husband, Thomas, was also killed on 9/11, pointed to Mamdani’s association with left-wing scum-streamer Hasan Piker, who said in 2019 that “America deserved 9/11” before having to later apologize.

Mamdani has said he plans to attend the September 11 ceremony anyway, his way of doxing them.

Sliwa, who ran against Mamdani and former Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo as the Republican candidate in last year’s mayoral election, said families have every right to dislike the mayor, but apparently the mayoral chair now comes with a complimentary halo.

Sliwa called the petition effort ridiculous. Sliwa is wrong.

“Once he got elected, you should have known he was going to be there at 9/11,” Sliwa said. “Now, if you choose to turn your back on him, I don’t want to ever tell family members what they should be doing on this holiday, not holiday, but this solemn occasion, that’s your choice.

“But I believe you respect the office,” he continued. “He’s the mayor. He’s representing the city.”

Why? Why must we 'respect the office' if the person in office is a socialist-Islamist who apparently plans to ruin the city's economy with his communist ideas? Maybe respecting the office means going after the person who is degrading the office. 

Sliwa also revisited an embarrassing moment from the closing days of the 2025 mayoral campaign involving Cuomo and radio host Sid Rosenberg.

Rosenberg joked with Cuomo, who was running as an independent, that Mamdani would cheer for the terrorists if another September 11 attack occurred while he was mayor. Cuomo chuckled before replying, “That’s another problem.”

Sliwa said the remark hurt Cuomo at precisely the moment when his campaign had begun gaining momentum.

“He was gaining traction, and then he made that stupid remark and then didn’t handle it well,” Sliwa said. “And then Zohran exploited the hell out of it, as he should.”

“That was Islamophobic,” Sliwa added.

So, in the strange political universe of New York City, the 9/11 anniversary has somehow become a referendum on Islamophobia, mayoral etiquette and whether grieving families are sufficiently respectful of the office.

Meanwhile, the families who actually lost loved ones on September 11 apparently get to choose between keeping quiet and being labeled “sore losers.”

Trump Announces Free Trial of Strait of Hormuz, Says Subscription Fees May Begin Later

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump shocked international bureaucrats, energy traders, and several confused college professors Saturday by announcing that there will be absolutely no tolls charged in the Strait of Hormuz during the current 60-day ceasefire with Iran.

"There will be NO TOLLS in the Hormuz Strait for 60 days during the Cease Fire Period," Trump wrote on Truth Social, immediately triggering panic among global elites who had already prepared seventeen think tank papers explaining why America should continue protecting international shipping lanes for free forever.

Trump later clarified that tolls would also remain off the table after the ceasefire ends unless negotiations collapse, at which point the United States may decide it would like to receive something in return for safeguarding one of the most dangerous waterways on Earth.

And the chance that the negotiations will not collapse is about the same as getting hit by a freight train in Antartica on a Sunday.

The president explained that any future tolls would simply reimburse America for decades of acting as the Middle East's unpaid security guard, babysitter, emergency response team, and occasional missile interceptor.

"Imagine expecting your neighbor to mow your lawn, fix your roof, guard your house, and fight off burglars for fifty years without ever sending a bill," said one administration official. "Actually, don't imagine it. That's basically been U.S. foreign policy."

Trump emphasized that any future tolls would reimburse America for decades of serving as the Middle East's unpaid "Guardian Angel." Administration officials clarified that this does not mean original Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa will be stationed in the Strait of Hormuz armed with a whistle, a flashlight, and an overwhelming sense of civic duty.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most critical shipping chokepoints, handling a substantial portion of global oil exports. Experts noted that without American protection, many nations would be forced to confront the terrifying possibility of paying for their own security.

At press time, several European leaders were reportedly drafting a strongly worded statement demanding that American taxpayers continue funding global stability while being accused of imperialism for doing so.

DeSantis Drops Epic Burn on NYC's Potential Refugee Crisis: 'Gonna Have to Charge an Entry Tax'

Oh, the drama in the Big Apple. As New Yorkers had braced for what could be the ultimate "get me outta here" moment in the mayoral race, the chatter's a mix of eye-rolls, escape plans, and, let's be real, a whole lot of schadenfreude from the rest of us thankfully living elsewhere.

Now that comrade Zohran Mamdani pulled off the win, we're talking biblical-level exodus. A Daily Mail poll drops the bomb: 765,000 folks would bolt for the hills "definitely," with another 2 million mulling it over like finding out your Tinder date was not the gender you though they were.

"The departure of at least 765,000 citizens would be one of the biggest mass exoduses in American history, with a population equivalent in size to Washington DC, Las Vegas or Seattle leaving the Big Apple," the outlet helpfully reminds us. 

Yes, nothing says "progress" like turning the city that never sleeps into the city that never stops hemorrhaging residents. So, where do all these freedom-seekers scatter? Straight to the red-state promised lands, baby. Places with sane taxes, actual beaches, and governors who don't treat businesses like piñatas at a Castro family reunion. So Florida's at the top of the list, now that Mamdani beat the two narcissists, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa.

Ron DeSantis, the Sunshine State's unflappable boss, has been fielding this refugee roulette like a pro for months. Back in early July, right after Mamdani snagged the Dem primary like it was free kale at a Bernie rally, DeSantis unloaded on Fox News with Sean Hannity:

"We've absorbed a lot of people over the years," DeSantis told Fox News' Sean Hannity on Tuesday evening. "I think this guy's policies, soup to nuts, are probably the most radical left that I've ever seen of a major party candidate in a big jurisdiction." 

"I'm telling you, I think I'm going to have to charge an entry tax or something because of this guy, because I don't know if we're going to be able to absorb everyone that's going to flee his poor rule if he gets in." 

Classic DeSantis: part policy wonk, part stand-up comic. He doubled down on Election Day because why not troll the coastal elites when they're handing you the mic? He even joked (perhaps only half jokingly?) with one X user that he'd consider sending the NYC refugees to southern Connecticut if necessary. 

Now, let's get real for a second, because this isn't just DeSantis' problem, it's the eternal gripe of every red-state conservative who's watched their quiet slice of paradise get "Californicated."

You know the drill: Blue-city refugees flood south, wallets fat from remote work, griping about the old regime... only to start voting for rent control, bike lanes that go nowhere, and school boards that prioritize pronouns over phonics. Suddenly, your affordable suburb's got avocado toast prices and drag queen story hours on speed dial.

Don't get me wrong, Florida has the room, and DeSantis is the guy you'd want manning the border (irony noted). But here's my hot take, unfiltered: If you're ditching a blue hellhole because it's too pricey, too regulated, too everything, do us all a solid and leave the socialism at the Holland Tunnel. Don't waltz into Raleigh, Austin, or Miami preaching the gospel of "tax the rich" that turned your old zip code into a ghost town.

Call it gatekeeping if you want, or call it tough love. But in a world where the left's "compassion" means funding open borders and defunding cops, red states are the last bulwark against the madness.  Vote wisely. And maybe leave the DSA membership card behind.

Let's wait and watch what happens next in the newly elected blue cities.

Curtis Sliwa blasts Orthodox Jews as a "drag on the tax system"

Who'd a thunk it--Curtis Sliwa has a brief history of what appears to be anti-Semitic rhetoric as evidenced in a resurfaced video from 2018.

Sliwa is the Republican candidate for mayor in New York City and denounced the "bloc vote," which is comprised of Orthodox Jewish voters. This is definitely not a smart thing to say when you have future political aspirations in a city where many Orthodox Jews live, especially when Orthodox Jews, much more than secular Jews, tend to vote Republican, the party that takes freedom of religion more seriously than the left.

But the reality is, if you're running for New York City mayor on the Republican ticket, you have a very poor chance of winning.

“We’re not talking about poor, impoverished, disabled people who need help," Sliwa went on, referring to Orthodox Jews, "we’re talking about able-bodied men who study Torah and Talmud all day and we subsidize them. And then all they do is make babies like there’s no tomorrow and who’s subsidizing that? We are.

“So are we the schmucks and putzes? Yes.” Good to know he has familiarity with everything Orthodox Jews do [make babies], versus the left who is okay with killing babies.

The video shows Sliwa, the founder of the Guardian Angels speaking at a meeting for the Reform Party. The video was originally posted to a Facebook page called United Hudson Valley on Oc. 25, 2018.

Sliwa won the Republican primary Tuesday against Fernando Matteo.

In the video, he repeatedly speaks out against the “bloc vote,” referring to Orthodox Jews. He encourages the meeting attendees to vote for Reform Party candidates to keep the “bloc vote” from continuing to control New York politics.

“They don’t vote the way normal Americans vote…They’re being told by the rebbe or rabbi this is who you vote for,” Sliwa said. All the left has to tell them who to vote for is the legacy media, unions and celebrities.

He also spoke about political contributions from Orthodox donors, as if that was a bad thing. Follow Sliwa's thinking and the left would never lose another election.

Sliwa was a member of the Reform Party until Feb. 2021, when he joined the Republican Party to run for mayor of New York City as a Republican, implying that his allegiance is dependent upon how he might benefit.

In his 2018 speech, Sliwa took issue with the idea that his own words might be construed as anti-Semitic.

“The moment you bring this to somebody’s attention, you’re called an anti-Semite. You’re not anti-Semites, you’re trying to preserve your community,” he said adding that his two youngest sons are Jewish, as if one cannot be an anti-Semite based on that.

But perhaps he isn't. I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
