Florida Democrat Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick resigns from Congress

Former Democrat Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and her eyelashes

Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) resigned from Congress today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The resignation went down just minutes before a scheduled House Ethics Committee hearing set to consider formal disciplinary action, which could have included expulsion recommendations.

The committee had previously found "clear and convincing evidence" of 25 out of 27 violations related to ethics rules and campaign finance laws, including allegations that she misused millions in federal COVID-era FEMA disaster relief funds (improperly sent to her family's health care company) to support her 2022 congressional campaign.
Cherfilus-McCormick said in her arrogant statement that the process was a "witch hunt" and unfair "political games," saying she chose to step away rather than continue. Her resignation is effective immediately.
"Rather than play these political games, I choose to step away so I can devote my time to fighting for my neighbors in Florida's 20th District," she wrote on social media Tuesday afternoon. "I hereby resign from the 119th Congress, effective immediately."

"This fight is far from over," Cherfilus-McCormick, who was indicted by a grand jury last year for allegedly stealing COVID-19 emergency funds, added in her statement.

She is facing 53 years in prison as part of a separate criminal indictment. The chances that her actually serving that sentence is as remote as JD Pritzker running a marathon.

Her abrupt announcement came after Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) pledged to file a motion to expel her, teeing up a vote later this week. It takes two-thirds of the House to remove a lawmaker, but a growing number of Democrats have voiced support for the expulsion effort.

House Ethics Chairman Michael Guest (R-MS) announced the panel lost jurisdiction with Cherfilus-McCormick's eleventh-hour decision to quit Congress. The committee panel dropped a bombshell back in March, uncovering "clear and convincing evidence" that Florida Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick had misused federal disaster relief money, funneled improperly straight to her family’s healthcare company, along with a boatload of other misconduct that would make even the most jaded Capitol Hill veteran raise an eyebrow.

Cherfilus-McCormick, of course, has denied any wrongdoing from day one and repeatedly swatted away any chatter that she might actually resign if faced with the real possibility of an expulsion vote.

She took to social media to blast the entire ethics investigation as a "witch hunt" and whined about supposed violations of her due process rights, even though the committee had bent over backward to accommodate her, granting a delay earlier this year when she temporarily lost her legal representation.

But Rep. Michael Guest wasn’t having any of it on Tuesday. The Mississippi Republican pushed back hard on that narrative, pointing out that Cherfilus-McCormick had repeatedly turned down the committee’s invitations to hand over any exculpatory evidence that might clear her name."The committee has worked diligently to investigate this matter," Guest said. "This was not a rush to judgment, as some would claim … this was a very deliberate process to gather information into allegations that were extremely serious, and extremely complicated."

Guest also made sure to thank the committee staff who had spent more than two years grinding through this mess, poring over tens of thousands of documents to get to the bottom of Cherfilus-McCormick’s alleged shenanigans.

And just like that, she became the third lawmaker to resign from Congress in the past week alone. California Democrat Eric Swalwell and Texas Republican Tony Gonzales both stepped down last week to dodge their own expulsion threats tied to serious sexual misconduct allegations.

At least five women have now come forward accusing Swalwell of sexual assault and rape. Gonzales, for his part, admitted to sexual misconduct back in March with a former aide, who later tragically died by suicide.

Despite the storm clouds, Cherfilus-McCormick went ahead and filed for re-election anyway, though her fundraising tells a different story: she scraped together a measly $11,000 in the first quarter of the year, according to the latest FEC filings. Whether she plans to actually keep that campaign alive remains to be seen.

Notably, Cherfilus-McCormick herself wasn’t even on the House floor when her resignation announcement was read aloud.

A staffer for the congresswoman told reporters she was back in Washington with her family as the news dropped.

"She's with her family digesting this development and digesting this decision," the aide said. "As you can imagine, this wasn't what she wanted."

House Democratic leadership stayed conspicuously silent in the run-up to her resignation announcement, even after the Ethics Committee laid out the extensive misconduct in painstaking detail.

But it looks like Cherfilus-McCormick finally caved once a wave of her own Democratic colleagues made it crystal clear they’d vote to expel her if that rare removal vote ever hit the floor.

Former Speaker Nancy Hands-a-Flying Pelosi, never one to mince words, went on Fox News Tuesday and basically said enough is enough: "Let’s just get this over with."

Pelosi also called for the swift boot of embattled Rep. Cory Mills, the Florida Republican currently under Ethics Committee scrutiny for an alleged domestic violence incident and other issues.

"These cases just being out there . . .  they make us look terrible," Pelosi said.House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, meanwhile, didn’t publicly call on Cherfilus-McCormick to step down before she pulled the plug.

On the other side of the aisle, Speaker Mike Johnson argued that the Ethics Committee should be allowed to finish its work on Mills before any punishment gets considered.

"I'm confident that they are moving along as quickly as they are able," Johnson told Fox News. "And when members cooperate, which my understanding is Representative Mills is cooperating, unlike Cherfilus-McCormick, I would expect that the outcome would be much sooner."

"He's very upset about some of the allegations that have been made," Johnson added of Mills. "He says that he wants to prove his innocence, and he has the opportunity to do that."

By the way, this resignation didn’t fly under the radar, major outlets across the spectrum, Brain Flushings, PBS and CNN to CBS, Fox News, The Hill, Politico, Reuters, NBC, and The Washington Post, all jumped on the story today.

U.S. Attorney for Southern District of NY resigns after forced to drop Mayor Adams corruption charges

Danielle Sassoon, the acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, resigned on Thursday, following a directive from the Justice Department to drop corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams. This decision came just days after she was ordered to dismiss the case, highlighting a significant clash between the Trump administration and its appointed officials.

Sassoon, who had a rapid rise in the Southern District of New York and was known for her role in high-profile cases including the prosecution of Sam Bankman-Fried, resisted the order, citing concerns about setting a "dangerous precedent" by dismissing charges based on what she described as a rushed and superficial process. Her resignation letter emphasized her belief in the integrity of the case against Adams, accusing his defense of a quid pro quo related to immigration policy assistance in exchange for dropping the case.

You can read her resignation letter here.

The resignation has sparked a wave of reactions, with some praising Sassoon for her integrity and others viewing the situation as indicative of broader issues within the Justice Department under the current administration. The case against Adams was to be dismissed "without prejudice," meaning it could potentially be reopened, which critics argue gives the Trump administration leverage over New York City's governance.

Following Sassoon's departure, there is uncertainty regarding who will take over the case and how quickly it might be dropped, leaving the future of the corruption investigation into Mayor Adams in limbo. This event has also led to discussions on social media and in political circles about the influence of political directives on legal proceedings and the independence of the Department of Justice.

For more detailed information, you can refer to recent articles from reputable sources like CNN, The New York Times, and ABC News, which cover her resignation, the reasons behind it, and the broader implications for both the legal and political landscapes.

BREAKING: Canadian PM Justin Trudeau to resign today

"Few have done more to ruin a country than Canadian PM Justin Trudeau. PM Trudeau has decimated Canada’s economy, he has embarrassed Canada on the world stage, he has made Canada unaffordable, he froze the bank accounts of Canadians, he implemented a dangerous immigration policy to obtain votes, he made Canada a safe haven for terrorists, and he has done nothing to stop his pro-Hamas voters from terrorizing Canada’s Jewish citizens."--Geller Report

Trudeau honors the Black community

Liberal Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is said to be turning in his resignation today at 10:45 ET. He has been screwing Canada since 2013 and his party is basically in the dumpster.

Trudeau honors India

Some people will be sad but 24 MPs have asked him to step down and he basically has no choice as he is not taken seriously and is, in fact, an embarrassment to Canada.

Trudeau supporting gender dysphoria

NDP leader, Jagmeet Singh will provide his far-left propaganda this afternoon regarding the resignation.

Although today is the twelfth day of Christmas, the real Christmas for Canada has finally arrived.

Merry Christmas, Canada!

Fani fan Wade resigns in disgrace and takes one for the team

Special prosecutor and former paramour of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, Nathan Wade is resigning in disgrace after Judge Scott McAfee's decision to disqualify either him or Willis in the case against former President Donald Trump and 18 co-defendant's.

Rather than making his former lover have to make the obvious choice of dumping him, Wade chose to resign from the case and is actually the sacrificial goat.

Wade sent Willis a resignation letter telling her that he is throwing in the towel, as if she didn't know this before the letter arrived.

"I am offering my resignation in the interest of democracy, in dedication to the American people, and to move this case forward as quickly as possible," Wade wrote.

"Seeking justice for the people of Georgia and the United States, and being part of the effort to ensure that the rule of law and democracy are preserved, has been the honor of a lifetime," Wade's resignation letter written late Friday afternoon concludes.

It is unknown as to whether or not the letter was actually written by AI, but it did sound official.

"I am sure that the case, and the team, will be in good hands moving forward and justice will be served," Willis told Wade. "You, the team on this case, and the entire office have my prayers for your safety and your success in pursuit of justice."

Willis has since accepted Wade's resignation and praised him for his "courage to accept the role."

She also complimented him for "the professionalism and dignity you have shown in over the last 865 days."

"Please accept my sincere gratitude on behalf of the citizens of Fulton County, Georgia, for your patriotism, courage, and dedication to justice. I wish you the best in your future endeavors," Willis said, adding, "Call me."

Though she responded to Wade stepping down, Willis has yet to issue an official response to the judge's ruling. It's predicted that she will appear in church where she will call upon Jesus to forgive Judge McAfee.

In Friday's ruling, Judge McAfee said the prosecution "cannot proceed" until the Willis-Wade ultimatum is resolved. Well, it looks like he resolved it in a cowardly way as no charges for perjury were filed against either Wade or Willis. Perhaps they are to come in the near future.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky resigns

Finally, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky is stepping down from her role as a government puppet. She will be out the door by the end of June, she announced Friday.

The White House thanked Walensky for the work she did for them, and Joe Biden thanked her too.

"The end of the COVID-19 public health emergency marks a tremendous transition for our country, for public health, and in my tenure as CDC Director," Walensky wrote in her resignation letter to President Biden. "I took on this role, at your request, with the goal of leaving behind the dark days of the pandemic and moving CDC – and public health – forward into a much better and more trusted place."

"Dr. Walensky has saved lives with her steadfast and unwavering focus on the health of every American. As Director of the CDC, she led a complex organization on the frontlines of a once-in-a-generation pandemic with honesty and integrity. She marshalled our finest scientists and public health experts to turn the tide on the urgent crisis we’ve faced," President Biden mumbled. "Dr. Walensky leaves CDC a stronger institution, better positioned to confront health threats and protect Americans. We have all benefited from her service and dedication to public health, and I wish her the best in her next chapter," the president read from a piece of paper he was handed.

More to come as we follow this remarkable scientist who has made inroads and outroads on COVID-19.

Pennsylvania voters call for Fetterman's resignation after over 6 weeks on a mental ward

The Comedy News Network (CNN) got something they may have not expected: voters want Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) to resign.

The leftist outlet took to the streets of Pennsylvania asking voters what they thought about Fetterman after he had been hospitalized for depression for more than six weeks.

“I don’t think the man is fit for the job,” one Pittsburgh resident said. “It may be he doesn’t have the cognitive ability also,” to which the CNN "reporter" responded: "But he has a machine that helps him understand what's going on and to communicate words in response to others trying to communicate with him."

When a reporter asked if there was anything that Fetterman could do to prove his eligibility for office, one Pennsylvanian said, “He could resign and turn it over to somebody who is physically fit to handle the job.”

To which the CNN "reporter" replied: "He's physically fit. Did you see how big the guy is? And he is tough--I'd hate to run into him in a dark alley."

Fetterman checked in for treatment in mid-February for depression. That isn't funny, but it's serious and needs the sufferer's total attention. Besides the depression, Fetterman is dealing with the outcome of a life-threatening stroke which has greatly impaired his cognitive abilities. He really does need a machine to deal with the spoken word, and there's likely more that isn't being reported. He should not be in the Senate and in fact, he should consider retiring and spending the rest of his life peacefully enjoying his retirement.

I suspect his wife, Gisele, is pushing him to stay in the Senate because she appears to have her own agenda in politics.

So, while Fetterman has been in the hospital for over six weeks getting treated for depression, his constituents are going without representation in the Senate.

As Fetterman’s mental health continues to be of great concern to Pennsylvanians, calls for his resignation are growing.

Now what about Joe Biden?

George Santos may owe thousands in traffic violations in 2 states

George Santis (R-NY) is a serial liar and appears to be a scofflaw as well. He may owe over $3,400 in unpaid citations according to Florida and New York records.

A vehicle registered to him was cited six times in Florida in 2016 and 2017. He paid two citations for running red lights but four toll violations were unpaid and racked up late fees and eventually sent to collections agencies, as noted in Florida records. Santos currently owes $1,299.10 for running through the tolls without paying and the fees can continue to climb.

On top of that situation are the federal and local investigations regarding campaign finance issues.

One of the tickets issued to Santos' vehicle shows color photos from a red-light camera of a silver Jeep with puppy paw-print and dog-bone bumper stickers. The tickets include a zoomed-in capture of the car's license plate.

In November 2016, Santos, who previously had a Florida drivers license, was issued a driver's license in New York. His car [at least a car with his license plates] piled up tickets in New York City. Over the following two and a half years, Santos received 29 citations, according to city records. And while the records don't identify the drivers of vehicles, unless someone else copied his license plate perfectly, it had to be the congressman from the Big Apple.

Tickets included double parking, expired parking meters and five more red light violations. He made over $1,800 in payments for 17 citations but still has not paid for another dozen. He still owes $2,142,61 according to city records.

There were five speeding tickets issued to Santos' Nissan in New York, and of the five, four of them occurred in school zones.

A spokesperson for Santos' office didn't want to discuss these matters and would not say whether Santos was driving the vehicle when it blew through the red lights, or whether it was he who did not put money in the parking meters when he got those tickets. Instead, the spokesperson said, "What about Hunter Biden's laptop."

And while the spokesperson has a good point about Hunter's laptop, one thing has nothing to do with the other. It's like mixing apples and cocaine.

At this time, Santos is being investigated by the FBI [which needs to be investigated as well] in regard to his raising over $3000 for a veteran's dying dog as well as New York State and federal prosecutors who have announced investigations to Santos. He is also the target of complaints to the Federal Election Commission over campaign spending and the House Ethics Committee.

Rather than resigning from office to allow an actual college graduate take his seat, Santos recused himself from serving on House committees earlier this week.

"This was a decision that I take very seriously. The business of the 118th Congress must continue without media fanfare," Santos bull-slung Tuesday. "It is important that I primarily focus on serving the constituents of New York's 3rd Congressional District and providing federal level representation without distraction."

A Newsday/Siena College poll poll of Santos' constituents published Tuesday suggests the majority believe he should resign. More than 80% of the 653 registered voters polled view Santos unfavorable. Nearly as many, 78%, said he should resign, including 71% of Republicans.

I am one of those Republicans.

Gov. Cuomo and Melissa DeRosa fly off together after his resignation

See how it's done? My headline makes it sound as if Melissa DeRosa and Andrew Cuomo have something prurient going on between them. I have zero information that it's true, knowing Cuomo, it's a coin flip. But this is exactly how fake news gets you to believe things they create from whole cloth, like, um, Trump colluding with Russia.

But the truth is, Cuomo's “enabler-in-chief” Melissa DeRosa was seen by his side Tuesday as he vacated his Manhattan office after announcing his resignation.

DeRosa, 38, resigned as secretary to the governor on Sunday. She was spotted walking with Cuomo, his daughter Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo [who made an announcement that she is "demisexual," which is something even autocorrect has trouble believing. Michaela, 23, explained that the term is described by PFLAG [?] as individuals who only feel sexually attracted to someone when they have an emotional bond with the person. So a demisexual person can be straight, bisexual, pansexual (loves to cook) and even gay. Michaela explains that she is willing to have sex with either gender but needs to feel something about the person she is willing to have sexual congress with. On the other hand, her father apparently only goes for women, particularly young ones.]

Also boarding the chopper was Stephanie Benton, Cuomo's office director, whose sexual identity is not known nor her personal pronoun preferences.

DeRosa resigned from her role as secretary to the governor on Aug. 8, 2021 but did not say when her last day would be.

DeRosa has been facing public criticism after Attorney General Letitia James revealed she played an active role in both going after or dismissing the women who said they were sexually harassed by Cuomo. She has not yet addressed her role in the scandal nor speak of her resignation.

BREAKING: NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigns

Brother to the Comedy News Network's Fredo Cuomo, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) has reigned amidst a sexual harassment probe stating that "The best way I can help now is if I step aside." This statement comes today, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the governor's younger, more buffed brother, people refer to as "Fredo," continues to have a job at CNN even after helping Andrew deal with the allegations and coaching him as to what he should say to the public.

Not surprisingly, the 15,000 plus nursing home deaths of the elderly in his state doesn't appear to be an issue and has not come up in the media of late, and you have to admit, the brothers had a lot of fun on the show during the height of the pandemic.

Results of an inquiry released on August 3rd, by another possible Democratic gubernatorial hopeful, Latitia James, found that the governor did sexually harass 11 women, in an investigation that lasted five months. Cuomo's conduct violated U.S. and state laws and the snowball started rolling downhill from that point.

Cuomo, who served as governor since 2011, was found by the investigation's 168-page report that he groped, kissed or made suggestive comments to women that included past and present government employees--one state trooper--and that he retaliated against at least one woman who accused him of sexual misconduct.

He denied any wrongdoing and swore to break the legs of anyone who suggested he was lying--just kidding about the leg part.

"This is CNN"

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, a Democrat from western New York, will be taking over as governor once Cuomo is officially out of office. She will continue on until the end of Cuomo's term in December 2022 and will be the first woman to hold the position of governor. She has not as yet announced her preferred pronouns but the state waits with collective bated breath.

Cuomo's resignation spares him from a possible [and likely] impeachment investigation.

As this post concludes, it appears that Fredo Cuomo is still employed by CNN.

Stay tuned to more from this breaking story.

Brenda Snipes resigns!

She used the Race Card, now will she use the "I Want To Spend More Time With My Family Card?"

Brenda Snipes, the most incompetent election supervisor in the history of the United States, has resigned on Sunday. Her legend will live on however, and Broward County, Florida may cease being the most questionable county in the country regarding trust in election returns.

CNN claimed she is a Republican, but she clarified their "reporting" and claimed to be a lifelong Democrat.

Snipes came under a barrage of criticism for her obvious incompetence and possible corruption during the recount kerfuffles. Her response to her critics was to shrug her shoulders, make a face of exasperation, and pull out the left's trusty "Race Card."

Snipes submitted her resignation hours after Broward County submitted final, contentious tallies in Florida's governor and U.S. Senate elections, both of which were won by Republicans Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis, respectively.

According to the Florida Sun-Sentinel, it isn't clear when the actual resignation will take effect, but certainly she'll be toast before the 2020 presidential election.

Wanna bet Franken stays?

And doggone it, you make us sick
Failed comedian and Senator, Al Franken (D. Minn.) pretended to resign from Congress two weeks ago after he was outed for sexual misconduct with photos to prove it. There's no way Franken is going to abide by his statement to resign anytime soon--he has no marketable talent and he refuses to say when he plans to leave his Senate seat, even though his replacement was appointed earlier in the week.

"Tina Smith will make an excellent United States senator. ...I look forward to working with her on ensuring a speedy and seamless transition," Franken whined, but failed to mention when he plans to leave.

In his December 7th make-believe "resignation speech" he said he'll be leaving in the "coming weeks," but even January 12, 2030 is in the "coming weeks" so I believe he's pulling our collective chains.

He isn't leaving I'm guessing, because he's currently looking for excuses to stay. Had Roy Moore won the Alabama special election last week, that would have been perfect for Franken. I'm sure he was pulling for the judge, not only because they apparently have a lot in common with the ladies [and girls, in one alleged case] but Franken would have made the case of "if he can be a senator, why can't I?"

A number of people on Capitol Hill, including Senate leadership, have no clue when the whiny-voice Franken will ride off into the sunset.

"I'll be coming home," was his only response to a question asked about his future plans. But Franken considers Capitol Hill to be his home. Screw Minnesota.

The groper was back at work this week, participating in a committee hearing, casting leftist votes, attending a senators-only luncheon with Democrats, and innocently posing for a photo with a group of naive high school students.

No, Franken's not going anywhere. He has no respect for the Senate, thinking that scum wafers like himself belong there.

He also has no shame, which is becoming an obvious advantage for politicians.

Franken has seven(!) claims of sexual misconduct against him. The latest by a woman who said in 2006 Franken tried to forcibly kiss her with his wet, slimy tongue.

A chorus girl gaggle of Democrats, led, of course, by 2020 presidential wannabe, Kirsten "Wherever the Wind Blows There Goeth I" Gillibrand, the winner of the new TV show "The Biggest Hypocrite."

Gillibrand has serious competition in Kamal Harris, who is also calling for Franken to resign and who also wants to run for president in 2020.

Franken in his pitiful speech, spoke about his original plan to undergo an ethics committee investigation (which could take 123 years, if done properly), but he also said that "some of the allegations against me are simply not true. Others, I remember very differently."

That's called not owning his behavior and refusing to properly apologize and just freaking leave, already!

But I still don't believe he's going to go quietly into the night.

Franken shares his feelings with his liberal robots

Disgraced Senator Al Franken refuses to resign but broke his silence Sunday and shared his feelings with us. How noble of him to be so open about how all this makes him feel.

Franken said that getting caught grabbing women's butts makes him feel "embarrassed and ashamed" and that he wishes he never got caught.

And no matter how many people call for his resignation, he refuses to go because he has nowhere to go after this. In fact, he was hoping to remain in the Senate for the remainder of his time above Earth, if only the people would keep voting for him.

Fortunately for him, he's a liberal and they don't have a problem with other liberals grabbing ass, but are very clear about the same behavior with conservatives.

"I've let a lot of people down and I'm hoping I can make it up to them and gradually regain their trust," Franken said.

He didn't let anyone down. To let someone down is to assume they held out a certain hope for you--the only hope people who voted for Franken hoped for was for him to continue condoning the killing of the unborn, higher taxes, Obamacare and defunding the military.

He let nobody down except, perhaps, his wife and children who he chose not to abort.

Four women thus far have come forward and publicly said Franken groped them, including one who said he forcibly stuck his tongue down her mouth in a disgusting sloppy kiss.

"I'm looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow," the sleazeball told the media. Congress was out on a long Thanksgiving weekend.

To his credit, Franken probably did not engage in pedophilia like Roy Moore is alleged to have done. Nevertheless, he is a disgusting human being who abused his power to get what normally would be impossible, given his appearance and personality.

Who am I kidding? Liberal women love disgusting men.

Franken's office said last weekend that he will not resign, amid calls for him to do so. "Where would he go? What would he do? He has no qualifications--he thinks it takes a cloth to wipe a server," an anonymous family member said.

Franken alleges that he has apologized to Leeann Tweeden several times. She is a radio host in California and the first to come forward.

He also said he feels badly that Lindsay Menz felt "disrespected" but he conveniently forgot about grabbing her butt cheeks while taking their photo at the Minneapolis State Fair in 2010.

The deviant senator has said that he's posed for "tens of thousands of photos" over the years but does not remember cupping any women's backsides (aka butts, buttocks, asses, derrieres) as several have alleged.

Franken told the media that he allegedly spent the past week "thinking about how that could happen and I just recognize that I need to be more careful and a lot more sensitive in these situations."

In other words, his sleazy behavior was an oversight. One can only wonder if it would have continued if he didn't get outed.

If this creep really did take "tens of thousands" of photos over the years, it's quite possible that more women could come forward. It's possible, and likely, that there have been other incidents of sexual misconduct that have thus far gone unreported.

Meanwhile, it's interesting to note that John Conyers plans to invest in fresh 'tidy whities'.

Trump’s New Press Secretary Lasted Days Before Her Credentials Became the Story

The White House press secretary ’s job is to defend the president, handle hostile questions from the press, and explain the administration’s...
