The Racism Card: How Democrats Shielded Massive Fraud in Minnesota's Somali Community

If there's one thing Democrats love more than taxpayer money, it's weaponizing accusations of "racism" to shut down any scrutiny of their pet projects. And nowhere has that been more evident than in the exploding fraud scandal rocking Minnesota, where billions in social program funds, much of it tied to the state's large Somali community, vanished while politicians like Tim Walz, Keith Ellison, and Ilhan Omar looked the other way or actively deflected.

Fox News Digital talked to experts who laid it bare: State Sen. Mark Koran, former prosecutor Joe Teirab, and columnist Dustin Grage all pointed to how screams of "racism" provided perfect cover for fraudsters in Minneapolis.

Rumors of fraud in the city's booming Somali community have swirled for over a decade. But dare question it? You're a bigot, according to Democrat elected officials who dismissed any criticism as hatred toward immigrants. Stories about Somali fraud rings were labeled "racist" and buried.

"The whole story kind of died under these accusations that people were being racist," Bill Glahn, policy fellow with Center of the American Experiment, told the outlet. "Oh, maybe somebody stole a little bit here, a little bit there, but there's nothing systemic going on."Classic deflection. And it worked like a charm.

Former assistant U.S. Attorney Joe Teirab, who prosecuted cases in the Feeding Our Future scandal, described how fraud suspects played the race card shamelessly. In one secretly recorded meeting with AG Keith Ellison, they claimed investigators were only going after them "because of race."

Teirab wasn't having it; this was a calculated move to intimidate and obstruct.

"It provided cover," Teirab told Fox News Digital. "Fraudsters knew the issue of race and racism was something they could use as a cudgel… It's disrespectful to use those terms when they're not appropriate, especially in a case where fraud clearly happened." And it dilutes accusations of actual racism.

Even a juror in one trial got hit with a $120,000 bribe attempt, complete with messages framing the whole probe as racist. The goal? Not just dodge jail, but poison the well and scare off anyone daring to follow the money.

State Sen. Mark Koran (R) put it bluntly: Investigators don't chase demographics, they follow evidence. If the fraud landed disproportionately in one community, that's because that's where the crooks were operating, not some targeted persecution.

"The average Minnesotan, average legislator, doesn't care who's committing the fraud," Koran said. "All right, the evidence will lead you either to or from the perpetrator. And so, if the evidence leads to the perpetrator, we need to prosecute all of them."

But pursuing that evidence meant getting smeared as racist. Fraudsters got so bold they sued the state to keep the cash flowing despite glaring red flags.

"For the average hardworking legal U.S. citizen doing everything right," Koran said, "it’s a disgusting disservice… knowing there’s such blatant disregard for the value of that dollar."

The scale is mind-boggling.

Federal prosecutions might hit $2 billion, but Koran says total losses across programs could be far higher when you factor in waste and outright theft. Families raked in kickbacks from fake autism providers, and investigators are too overwhelmed to chase it all. Low risk, massive reward.

State agencies "cowering in fear" of the racist label, as Glahn put it. Politicians know getting tagged with it is a "career kiss of death." A legislative auditor's report even admitted Department of Education officials went easy on nonprofits over fears of racism accusations and bad press. Then there's the media complicity. Conservative reporters pitched Feeding Our Future stories only to get shut down by editors terrified of the "racist" backlash.

"In newsrooms, they're told, ‘We can’t run that because we're going to be accused of being racist,'" Grage explained.

Remember when Minnesota's Department of Education spotted fraud and paused payments? Local pols like Omar Fateh and Jamal Osman cried racism, sued the state (and lost), but the damage was done; payments resumed. And Gov. Tim Walz had subpoena power to dig into bank records but sat on his jazz hands.

Why the hesitation?

Politics, of course. As Glahn explained, the Somali community is concentrated in key areas, including Ilhan Omar's district. Their monolithic Democrat voting bloc swings close elections statewide and in primaries.

"The Somali community is very concentrated in Minnesota and very concentrated in Ilhan Omar's congressional district, and a few other pockets where the Somali vote swings elections, and at the state level, they're big enough that we've had some super close elections at the state level, and the Somali vote is very monolithic, votes Democrat," Glahn explained.

No wonder no one wanted to rock the boat. Fraudsters exploited the fear, taxpayers got fleeced for billions, and the vulnerable kids these programs were supposed to help suffered the most. As Minnesota picks up the pieces, the takeaway is clear: Real accountability demands guts, to chase the evidence no matter where it leads and brush off the inevitable race-baiting distractions.

Democrats' obsession with identity politics didn't just enable fraud; it supercharged it. And hardworking Americans paid the price.

Leftists claim Gillum lost election due to racism

The race card is a powerful tool used by leftists because it works. The reason it works is because nobody wants to be called such a horrible word when it isn't true. It stops the debate and leftists walk away self-satisfied with a sense of moral superiority. But the opposite is true: it's immoral to use the race card when there is no basis of truth other than the squishy feelings by which leftists make most of their decisions.

When a non-white liberal loses an election, they shout racism. Yeah, that's why socialist Democrat [aka: socialist] Andrew Gillum lost the election for Florida's governor and the white man, Ron DeSantis, won.

The fact that Barack Obama won the majority of Florida voters TWICE is irrelevant, or perhaps all the racists stayed home both times. But Gillum's loss was definitely due to racism because black people cannot lose an election for any other reason, unless they're black conservatives.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that people such as Judy Beck are sure "Andrew Gillum would have won if he were white," the retired St. Petersburg Democrat said. She has done extensive research from her workings of her mind.

Even clueless state senator Darryl Rouson (Dummy-St. Petersburg) claimed the election came down to racism. [Rouson is best known for being a touchy-feely dickweed.]

"I'm not one to call racism unless I smell it, feel it, touch it, walk with it," the idiot said, without explaining his irrational thinking. "But there are many who would argue, and make good points, that racism did have a role."

Which brings us to wonder, if a depressed person sees everything through the dark lens of depression, and an anxious person sees the world as a dangerous place, does a racist see everyone else as a  racist?

More to the point, when you examine the exit polls from the election, how do Democrats explain that if white folks voted against Gillum due to his race and were blamed for his failure, then how do they explain the voting behavior of Florida's black population?

According to the Tampa Bay Times, "Exit polls showed 86 percent of black voters cast ballots for Gillum, and 90 percent backed Nelson. At least 95 percent of black voters backed Barack Obama 2008 and 2012."

Obama beat white Republicans John McCain and Mitt Romney in 2008 and in 2012, respectively.

The truth is probably more due to Gillum's far-left political views, which is distasteful to Americans who understand socialism and see the damage it has done.

"If race was the determining factor, Gillum wouldn't have started with a large lead in the polls right after the primary. It only tightened when people found out about his progressive ideas," Democratic consultant Barry Edwards said.

Andrew Breitbart explains the power of the "Race Card" and says it's "One of the most effective tactics that the left has is the ability to accuse its opponents of being a racist. It's an impossible negative to dispel. . . "
But using the Race Card is immoral and deceitful. It's a tactic simply to shut off any reasonable discussion because, as Breitbart pointed out, it's powerful because Americans don't want to be put in such a horrible category--simply because they aren't racist.

Liberals who throw around that term, [Al Sharpton comes to mind] really suck.

Snipes pulls the race card

It was only a matter of time. Put a Democrat in an uncomfortable situation they can't wriggle out of without exposing their incompetence and they will reach into their pocket and pull out their worn-out race card.

Predictably, Broward County Election Supervisor Brenda Snipes, who is as competent in her job as Michael Avenatti is at his, is now claiming that the backlash over her total inability to handle the midterm election is "probably" due to racism. Seriously? Aren't Democrats getting tired of the nonsense they spout?

This is a person who didn't know what a canvasser's job is regarding elections. This is a person who destroyed election returns after only 12 months, when the law requires they be held for 22 months. This is a person who failed to get the recounting done in time.

I could go on, but it isn't worth the time. Google her and see for yourself.

Racism has nothing to do with her incompetence and she should realize that when she makes those kinds of stupid claims, it makes her sound divisive.

Snipes came under a lot of criticism over her mishandling of the Florida recount. She told The Guardian that she thinks protesters who camped outside the Broward recount center could be there out of hatred of her skin color.

Seriously? Don't you realize how stupid that sounds?

Under the "leadership" of Snipes, Broward embarrassingly missed the machine recount Thursday and on Saturday, had to stop its manual recount about an hour after it began because the volunteers were counting the wrong ballots.

I call her an incompetent because I'm not a racist. I do not hold lower expectations for her because she is not my skin color. I hold normal expectations for her because she is in a supervisory position that is extremely important and entails a ton of responsibility.

She has been duly elected by the voters for her position, but she is not doing a good job. If she was doing a good job, we wouldn't be talking about the uncounted votes more than a week after the elections.

I hate that people use the race card to exonerate themselves from responsibility. Snipes should be better than that.

Snipes should resign.

6 tactics on how to debate a leftist

Arguing with a leftist can feel a lot like arguing with a kitty litter box. Your words reach the box, but they fall on deaf kitty dung.

1. Pulling the race card
A leftist or Democrat will pull the race card because that's all they have in their toolbox. When (not if) they do, never try to defend yourself because it's useless to try. Defending yourself only shows that you feel a sense of guilt over the claim, even though you're not a racist.

You cannot reasonably argue with a leftist when they resort to using the race card. When they, for example say, "You're a racist for wanting Confederate monuments to remain in place," you need to be prepared with an answer.

A weak answer would be something to the effect: "No, I'm not. I have friends of all colors and creeds, and blah, blah, blah."

A strong answer would be: "And based upon what you know about me, calling me a racist just proves that you're an ass rag."

2. Take the first punch
You know the left likes to castigate and insult. You need to be able to take it and jump right into the fray, take the leftist head-on.

Then verbally get in the first punch and don't hold back. In order to make that punch effective, you need to be prepared. You want to make it a knockout punch and end the discussion as quickly as possible, so know the issues better than your opponent.

When a leftist uses an ad hominem attack on you, understand that you've won the debate. Don't stoop to his/her level--just smile and say something like: "So that's your best argument? You sound pathetic."

Or say nothing--sometimes silence can be deafening.

3. Frame the leftist
Leftists have only one tool in their toolbox--attacking you personally and depicting you as an evil human being who doesn't care a fig about other people.  You can use that knowledge to your advantage at the get-go.

Simply put, the left's ploy is to characterize you as a bad person, as Ben Shapiro points out in his lovely pdf booklet How to Debate Leftists and Destroy Them.

Shapiro suggests a strategy in which you "make it toxic for your opponent to slur you."

While you can't convince someone that you don't hate him or her, you can convince them that your opponent is a liar and a hater.

For example, without knowing you and then accusing you of being a racist, you can convince those watching your debate (those are the only folks who matter, not your opponent) that your accuser is the hater, liar and thus a racist him- or herself because they dilute the term 'racist' to mean anyone who disagrees with them.

4. Force the leftist to define terms (aka buzzwords)
Neuter the buzzwords right out of the gate. Don't accept the premises of their arguments, which are supported by buzzwords. You can't argue against nonsense or empty terms.

When you ask a leftist to define what they mean by, say, 'immigration reform' tell them you agree it's needed, but ask them exactly what do they mean by the term.

According to Shapiro, the left's favorite three lines of attack are: (1) you're stupid; (2) you're mean; and (3) you're corrupt. Thus, the left calls Sarah Palin stupid; Mitt Romney mean; and Dick Cheney corrupt. Shapiro says that if you take away these lines of attack, you can see the left's discomfort.

5. Force leftists to answer questions.
They love to ask questions, but hate to answer them. That's because their main mode of debate is to attack and that's done by asking ridiculous questions or more often, by character assassination.

When they argue with you, try to spot their inconsistencies in what they say. Most of the arguments are filled with these inconsistencies because very few leftists will acknowledge their actual agenda, because it's obviously very extreme.

For example, they will tell you that Robert E. Lee's statue must be removed from public display because of its association with slavery, but they really want all remnants of American history removed for their deeper agenda. Trump was correct in musing that they may eventually call for the removal of Thomas Jefferson's and even George Washington's statues and homesteads because they were slave owners.

But even that is not the entire story.

If we give in to the left on these apparently smaller issues, they will eventually go for the  Declaration of Independence will go, and then the U.S. Constitution as these were authored in large part by slave holders.

6. Don't allow them to throw you off your game plan.
Watch how whenever you make a point, the leftist will throw an unrelated point into the discussion. Shapiro calls this "Leftist Tourette's.

He writes, as an example of this ploy: "Why did Obama blow out the budget?" And the left responds: "BUUUUUUUSHHHH!!!!" Then he warns us not to be fooled into following the "idiotic rabbit down into his Bushy rabbit hole . . ."

You must force the leftist to answer the question. That's what's going to make him uncomfortable and you will be viewed as the winner of the debate by those observing it--not by the leftist who's unable to see his loss.

Finally, don't feel that you need to defend the entire Republican Party or others who are on your side. The debate isn't about that. Also, if you don't know something, don't pretend you do--people will see through you and you will come off like a charlatan and everything you said before that point will be flushed down the drain.

Remember, whenever you're debating, body language counts, and you want observers to like you.

No Moochelle, we don't like you because you're detestable

"All this for a flag?"
Whenever Barack Obama went up against anyone who disagreed with his leftist policies, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out the race card. Sometimes he was quite vociferous but usually he was subtle in his claim.

"I think there's a reason why attitudes about my presidency among whites in northern states are very different from whites in southern states."

Obama used racism because, like Islamophobia, it tended to shut off the real debate and put the "offender" on defense. It's right out of "Rules for Radicals," by Saul Alinsky.

Rule number four states: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon." Therefore just pull out the race card and you win every time . . . if we conservatives keep playing this game.

Michelle Obama, who identifies as a woman, made her largest public appearance since Barack thankfully left office. She spoke before 8,500 people at the Women's Foundation of Colorado's 30th anniversary in Denver.

Lauren Casteel, the foundation president claimed Mooch broke the glass ceiling as the first black lady, but asked about the fallout that came of it, the Denver Post reported.

"The shards that cut me the deepest were the ones that intended to cut," she said, referencing being called an ape and people talking about her bottom. "Knowing that after eight years of working really hard for this country, there are still people who won't see me for what I am because of my skin color."
Gag me with a spoon.
She said she can't pretend like it doesn't hurt because that lets those who do the hurting off the hook.
"Women, we endure those cuts in so many ways that we don't even notice we're cut," she said. "We are living with small tiny cuts, and we are bleeding every single day. And we're still getting up."

The poor thing.

"Michelle Obama is part of the affirmative action generation of above-average but far-from-stellar performers who were granted preferential admission to America's most elite institutions," Dinesh D'Souza wrote in 2008.

And even when she was an undergraduate, he thesis was primarily concerned about the trials and tribulations of being a black woman at an Ivy League University.

Here is a typical passage of her "poor me":
"By actually working with the Black lower class or within their communities as a result of their ideologies, a separationist may better understand the desperation of their situation and feel more hopeless about a resolution as opposed to an integrationist who is ignorant to their plight."
No Mooch--we don't hate or dislike you because you're black. Your skin color has no bearing on who you are inside. We dislike you because you are dislikable.

You made millions as the wife of a government worker. You have taken lavish vacations on the taxpayer's money and we don't even hate you for that.

We're just sick and tired of your whiny bull crap and how much of a racist you are, because that's all you ever focus on and how you divide us, just like your husband did.

Susan Rice: "It's onnaconna I'm a black woman"

Poor little Miss Susie Rice, the Obama national security adviser. She is being scrutinized over her alleged involvement in the "unmasking" of Trump associates during the 2016 presidential election in which Donald Trump destroyed Hillary Clinton and made millions of fluffer-nutters cry uncontrollably to the delight of millions.

Rice is suggesting in a recent interview that her race and gender might be playing a role in the close scrutiny she's facing.

In other words, she's pulling both the race card and gender card out of her fat wallet and crying "You're not being fair to me, a poor, defenseless black woman who means no harm."

"Why me? Why not Jay Carney, for example, who was then our press secretary who stood up more?" she said as the proverbial bus came speeding by with Carney's body under it.

Maybe she has a point and perhaps Carney too should be investigated. By why not her? The gender card is really an indication that the person pulling it actually doesn't see men and women as equal.

Rice, you may recall, went on the Sunday talk shows knowing she was lying when she said the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack was caused by a video.

I could go on, but too much Rice can make you sick, unless it's Condoleezza.

Race-Baiter Agitators

If Barack Obama was president on September 11, 2001 and went back on vacation September 12, 2001, liberals would defend him. It's a knee-jerk reaction like the reaction blacks and race-baiters have for the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, MO. And besides blacks and race-baiters like the very Revolting Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson, we have the left-leaning news media practically calling Darren Wilson guilty of murder even before the facts have been totally compiled. That's racist.

Spike Lee, the producer of such misogynistic films such as that 2004 gem "She Hate Me," and the 1996 phone sex "comedy" called "Girl 6," has also gotten involved in the protesting in Ferguson. "Something smells bad in Ferguson and it's not just the tear gas." He might have been referring to his movie, "Summer of Sam," made in 1999, depicting panic and distrust in New York City in the summer of 1977 when David 'Son of Sam' Berkowitz went on a killing spree. This movie was an attempt to depict with the fear and paranoia in the city at that time, but the flick smelled of Martin Scorsese below par excess. But that wasn't what Spike was referring to--he believes that there is a war being waged on the black male.

Spike Lee is correct: there is a war being waged on the black male; he just hasn't figured out who the real combatants are in this war.

Only a tiny percentage of black males are killed by the police each year--less than one percent. The overwhelming percentage of blacks are killed by other blacks.

Where is the outrage? Where are the race-baiters on this issue? They are too busy using the race card on the "white oppressors." That's racist.

The New Black Panthers are clearly racist, if we really were to be honest. They are calling for Officer Wilson's head on a platter. In the last presidential election, the New Black Panthers intimidated white people at a Philadelphia polling place--it's on video--and when it was brought to the attention of the DoJ, Eric Holder refused to prosecute. When special privileges are given to one group at the expense of another, that's racist (see Holder, Eric).

People who say that Officer Wilson is guilty of "slaughtering" or "executing" Michael Brown would not say this if the races were reversed. Without all the evidence they have tried Wilson and found him guilty based on skin color. When you prejudge the facts based on race, you're a racist.

Now Eric Holder is in Ferguson and has made it clear to the press that he is, indeed, black. That's code for "I'm going to look at this case and prove Officer Wilson killed that sweet young man in cold blood, in "broad daylight," (as MO governor, Nixon said). The term "broad daylight" implies that a crime had been committed, and while Nixon is white, and possibly not a racist, he is a self-serving political hack like some other people in government you may be aware of (see Obama, Barack Hussein).

What is Eric Holder doing in Ferguson before the case has gone before a grand jury? Well, Obama sent him. Obama is the master race-baiter saying we need peace and calm, we need to not prejudge, but then sends in the head of the DoJ who makes it clear that he's black and justice will be done.

And all the while the media huddle up in Ferguson, they have totally disregarded a similar case in which an unarmed 20 year old white man, Dillon Taylor, was shot and killed by a black police officer, whom the local media refers to as "not white." The shooting took place in Salt Lake City, Utah and you can read more on this and see the video here. I have a strong gut-feeling that Eric Holder is not going to show up in Utah any time soon.

Michael Brown and New Facts

The rioting over the shooting of Michael Brown has slowed in the not so sleepy town of Ferguson, MO. Michael, an 18 year old 6 foot 4 inch, 292 pound black man was shot and killed by a police officer who was until today, not identified by Ferguson Police for his own protection.

Witnesses said that Michael was stopped by the officer, had his hands in the air, and was shot several times. I had difficulty believing this story when I first heard it because while it could happen, it didn't make any sense.

So who was Michael Brown?

For sure, according to all media reports that I heard, Michael Brown seemed like such a nice kid, kind of like Trayvon Martin. Trayvon was that young man who was murdered by a white Hispanic named George Zimmerman and who looked like President Obama's non-existing son. Michael was to go to college in a week or so, and who knows what accomplishments he could have given to the world--maybe even winning a Nobel Peace Prize like Mr. Obama and Yassar Arafat. Maybe a prize in physics.

But Michael Brown will never win anything because they don't give out Nobel Peace Prizes or even prizes in Physics posthumously.

The very right Reverend Al Sharpton made a beeline to Ferguson to jump on the No Justice, No Peace bandwagon. This is a wagon pulled by white liberals who see themselves as heroes of the black struggle in America. Reverend Sharpton (who I`ve never actually seen him in a photo in church) marched with Michael`s mother and led protesters, in a march against "The Man." Also in attendance were leaders of the New Black Panthers--you remember them--they intimidated white voters in Philadelphia at a polling place when Obama was running for president. Unfortunately, even though it was clearly shown on video, Department of Justice head, Eric Holder said there wasn't enough to make a case as long as he's in charge.

Well anyway, it seems as though Michael Brown may not have been as innocent as witnesses described. It now appears that Michael was killed after a robbery of a convenience store in which he was suspected of trying to make off with a box of cigars after pushing a clerk out of the way as he made his exit. There are photos to corroborate this, but if Eric Holder gets involved, this may not be enough to exonerate the cop, now identified as Darren Wilson, who was apparently trying to do his job.

Wilson has been on the force 6 years and has an unblemished record. Police say the shot that killed Brown was fired after a struggle that was ignited by the officer confronting Brown--that's what I mean by doing his job.

But because Brown was Black and Wilson is white, even President Barack Obama had to chime in and say things about the Ferguson Police before any of the facts are in. Of course, this proves my point about liberals not needing facts to make claims.

Now I realize that the story isn't over and all the facts are not in, but I'm happy I trusted my sense of logic and didn't jump to conclusions like those people in Ferguson, MO.

It looks like it was a righteous shooting, but I will wait to find out, unlike some reverends, lawyers and presidents I know who tend to lead with their behinds.

FBI evidently confronted Eric "Boom Boom" Swalwell over the weekend and hoo boy

It has been a rough stretch for former Rep. Eric "Boom Boom" Swalwell . You know, the guy who's known for the fart heard round...
