GOP block Dems' election bills, setting up a 'what the Chuck' showdown over nuclear option

The not insane Senate Republicans Wednesday used the filibuster to block the insane and self-serving Democrat election legislation, denying it the 60 votes it required to advance and set up a potential "nuclear option" set up by Sen. Chuck "I Once Supported the Filibuster When We Needed It" Schumer.

Majority Leader Schumer planned to use a party-line vote to lower the filibuster threshold for some legislation to a simple majority with the hope of some day taking complete control over the country and never giving it up.

Every Republican voted against a procedural vote on the legislation, even RINOs like Adam Kisinger and Liz Chaney, and all Democrats voted for it ending with a 49 - 51 vote after Chucky changed his vote to the Democrat side in order to preserve his right to bring the vote up in the future.

Now the Senator from New York is probably going to initiate a "nuclear option" to rid the 60-vote threshold completely, so that Democrats can ruin the country in its entirety.

"We will all confront a critical question: Shall members of this chamber do what is necessary to pass these bills?" Schumer, along with his giant nostrils, said on the Senate floor Wednesday. "It is my hope that courage awakens within the heart of our Republican colleagues before the day is out. But if the Senate cannot protect the right to vote… under the existing rules, then the Senate rules must be reformed."

Courage? The Democrats don't have the courage to follow the concept of a republican form of government and would like to rule using the tyranny of the majority.

Schumer, who had once advocated for the filibuster when it suited his purpose added: "For those who feel that the filibuster is a good thing and helps bring us together, I would ask this question: Isn't the protection of voting rights, the must fundamental wellspring of this democracy, more important?"

This has nothing to do with the protection of voting rights. Black people and other minorities are just as capable of getting a personal ID and finding a polling place as White people. The election of Barack Obama certainly proves that notion.

Sens. Joe Manchin, (D-WV), and Kyrsten Sinema, (D-AZ), oppose altering the filibuster through a party-line vote, and that somehow gave them the title of "racist" by their Democrat colleagues. See, the word "racist" now means doing anything the left doesn't like or voting the "wrong way."

Schumer, who will be doing his own "Joe Biden Skivvy Assault" if he gets a primary challenge by Rep. Alexandria Obviously-Commie, is expected to go ahead with the gambit anyway after promising this week to get all senators "on the record" on the issue.

To initiate the nuclear option, Schumer can call a "point of order." He would then ask Vice President Kamala Hahaharris, who presides over the Senate, whether the threshold to advance legislation is 60 votes or 51. Harris would then respond that the threshold is 60, and then Schumer can appeal her ruling.

The Senate would then enter into a vote of whether to "affirm" the chair's ruling – that the Senate filibuster threshold is 60. That means most Democrats will vote "no" while and all Republicans are expected to vote "yes."

Most likely, the chair's ruling will be affirmed and the Republicans and handful of Democrats who vote in the negative will win the vote, preserving the filibuster.

But with the way things are in the nation, you never know how this will turn out.

We're going to go nuclear this week: thanks Harry

President Trump will be making the announcement Tuesday as to who he will nominate for the vacant seat on the US Supreme Court.

There will be a battle and Chuck Schumer's nostrils will flare, pulling out all of the oxygen in the room, even though the Senate Minority Leader from New York  says it's just business, nothing personal, and certainly not revenge. But you know he will be fighting the appointment every step of the way as Republicans move to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

But thanks to Hairy Weed Harry Reid, there is the nuclear option whereby the nuclear option is now available to the Republicans as it was to the Democrats.

The nuclear option will happen if the GOP quashes the filibuster, a process the Democrats kept scratching at in 2013 when they nuked the filibuster for most judicial and executive-branch nominees.

The party of the KKK had the majority back then and never thought they would lose it, as former Senate leader Reid decided to keep the minority Republicans from keeping the country from bowing to the will of Obama. Instead of the 60 votes normally needed to nominate appointees, all the Democrats needed was 51 votes.

This is how the party of Bull Connor and Robert Byrd was able to pack the lower courts with Obama liberals.

Even Schumer admits that Republicans have an edge since they control the Congress and the White House. He knows that no matter how many tears he sheds, all of Trump's cabinet choices are likely to be confirmed--and his choices appear to be even more conservative than were Ronald Reagan's.

The only exception Reid left when he changed the rules, was with the Supreme Court. So to get things done, Mitch McConnell might have no alternative but to use his power as House Majority Leader, to squash the filibuster altogether.

If McConnell cannot persuade eight Democrats to go along with Trump's SCOTUS nominee while ensuring all 52 Republicans vote for Trump's pick, then he will have to go nuclear.

McConnell's decision to hold off Obama's choice of Judge Merrick Garland after Justice Scalia died last February was a gamble that paid off, big league.

Thank you Harry.

Bye bye Harry: don't let the door . . .

Senate Democrats are going to be an afterthought once Trump takes office. They could spend years in the minority and now they are trying to understand why the country thinks they suck.

And speaking of being vacuous, Harry Reid (aka Hairy Weed) is finally packing it in, retiring after 34 years in Washington where he has become fabulously wealthy on the taxpayer's dime.

Weed doesn't believe the party fell apart because of poor messaging or having a suckworthy Hillary Clinton as a candidate. No, Hairy believes it all has to do with looser campaign rules, FBI Director James Comey and the influence of a couple of powerful dudes--he names the Koch brothers but not the Soros commie as influencers.

The lying Senate minority leader (who actually admitted to lying about Mitt Romney, in one instance) is unapologetic regarding the Democratic Party and firmly believes they don't need to change political course, which is a great example of why the party is seriously declining in popularity.

"They have Trump, I understand that. But I don't think the Democratic Party is in that big of trouble," the mentally deteriorating Reid said in an interview with leftist blog Politico on Wednesday. "I mean, if Comey kept his mouth shut, we would have picked up a couple more Senate seats and we probably would have elected Hillary."

If Hillary obeyed the State Department rules regarding security and didn't have the arrogance to use an unauthorized illegal private server, Comey wouldn't have said anything. Hillary violated the Espionage Act, not Comey.

And the outgoing falsetto-voice senator refused to take any flak about his invoking the "nuclear option" for most nominations in the Obama Cabinet--a move that has come to bite him on his sorry butt because now the GOP can use it. It will essentially leave the party of the KKK powerless to stop Trump's Cabinet selections. He insisted that it was the right thing to do.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said of Reid that he will be remembered as the "worst majority leader ever."

Democrats believe he will be remembered more kindly.

I will remember Harry Reid as the man with a soft, feminine-sounding voice, who only lied when he moved his lips.

He will be missed like an annoying uncle who secretly goes through your drawers and medicine cabinet when he comes to visit. He also refuses to flush.

Nuclear Options, Nuclear Iran, Friday Brain Flushings

I'm Making You An Offer You Can't Refuse
It has been quite a week in the wacky world of politics. Reid goes nuclear; Iran is currently doing the same under the guise of efficient energy production for peaceful purposes; Obamacare doesn't just cover abortions, it has become one; and Ed Schultz has gone beyond calling Laura Ingraham a "slut," he has become a presidential confidante along with a host of MNSBC hosts and Juan Williams of Fox News.
