26 FDNY units respond to another Fox News HQ fire

Two weeks ago, a mentally ill homeless man reportedly from Brooklyn, ignited the Fox News' Headquarter Christmas tree on fire and burned it to a smoking heap of joyless ashes. 

On Sunday night, the FDNY was called to the Fox News Headquarters in Midtown Manhattan once again to put out a fire.

The first time was on December 8th when the homeless man named Craig Tamanaha, 49, reportedly climbed the 50-foot-tall tree, lit some papers he brought with him, and set the pine ablaze. He was caught and detained for police to arrive and has since taken a shower.

In the present case, the fire was in the basement of the building Fox News is housed in, where "a fire in a compactor" was burning brightly, according to WNYW-TV.

The incident involved up to 26 units responding to the blaze, including 84 firefighters and emergency medical services members.

The extent of the injury to the person reported has not been revealed and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

In the first instance, charges against Tamanaha include criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, arson, criminal nuisance, endangering others, criminal trespass, criminal tampering and disorderly conduct.

In the past, Tamanaha has been arrested for drug possession and public intoxication.

In total, the structure took workers roughly 21 hours to put up, had 10,000 ornaments and 100,000 lights.

Fox has since replaced the tree and Christmas has been saved.

Explosion goes off near nuclear site Natanz, Iran according to report

Natanz, Iran -- A blast in the area of a nuclear facility in Natanz was reported on Saturday. According to officials, the blast was caused by an air defense test.

The explosion was heard at least 12 miles away from the nuclear plant, the IRNA, Iran's state propaganda news outlet reported.

“Badroud residents heard the noise and saw a light which showed an object had just blown up in the skies over the city,” a witness told IRNA.

Nour News, a website linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guards, claimed the blast was not an attack but was caused by a missile testing Iran's air defenses' preparation for a potential attack, which is only likely to happen if Iran tries to destroy Israel, or the Jewish State gets good intel that Iran is ready to preemptively strike them.

Some of the reports said a drone was shot down but with all the fake news nowadays, you never know.

The blast comes amid high tensions between Iran and world powers. Meanwhile, Tehran continues to enrich Uranium and only an idiot or a demented individual such as Joseph Robinette Biden, would think that it's only for the purpose of heating homes.

The explosion comes only one day after nuclear negotiations were halted in Vienna, with Western countries saying Iran had come to the talks with unrealistic proposals, such as allowing them to eliminate Israel and all the Jews, for example.

Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities in Natanz have seen several reported attacks in recent years which have been attributed to Israel. Hopefully they are correct because it gives one the sense of relief knowing that Israel can accomplish such a feat.

This past April, the underground facility in Natanz suffered an unexplained explosion causing damage to some of its centrifuges. In July, there were fires of unknown cause that struck the advanced centrifuge assembly plant, which was later described as sabotage.

Florida genius crashes van into church, sets it on fire with parishioners inside

A young man from Florida was arrested Sunday and is facing attempted murder charges after intentionally plowing his van into a Catholic church and then setting the building on fire while the faithful were inside preparing for Mass, officials said.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said the accused, Steven A. Shields, 24, crashed his van through the front doors of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala, FL. 

Shields got out, poured gasoline in the foyer area and set it on fire, authorities said. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m.

He then drove off but was spotted by Deputy Josue Gonzalez, who stopped the vehicle by hitting it with his patrol car, the sheriff's office said.

Thankfully, no parishioners were injured and Marion County firefighters quickly put out the blaze.

“Our freedom of worship granted in the Constitution is a freedom that we all hold dear," Sheriff Billy Woods said in a statement. "My deputies and I are sworn to protect that right and will always ensure our citizens can worship in peace. I’m proud of my deputies for capturing this man so quickly and we appreciate the assistance from all of the state and federal agencies that worked alongside of us during this investigation.”

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Ocala Star-Banner, Shields told investigators what he did was "awesome" and smiled and laughed while admitting to setting the church ablaze.

Shields, who referred to himself as "king" but looks more like a queen with a goatee, claimed to be on a "mission." He told a detective he has problems with the Catholic Church, according to the affidavit, and I think we should believe him.

Shields, who lives in nearby Dunnellon, also said he has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and is not taking his medication, the Star-Banner reported, and I think we should believe the diagnosis.

Shields is facing multiple charges, including attempted second-degree murder, arson, burglary and attempting to elude. He is being held in the Marion County Jail where he shares a cell with a unicorn and a talking rabbit.

The church foyer was heavily damaged, but Mass was still celebrated Saturday evening in the parish hall, according to the Star-Banner.

BREAKING: Paris--Notre Dame in flames UPDATE

UPDATE: The original report that the fire has been contained was premature. As of 8:59 pm local time [2:59 pm ET] the fire is raging once again.

Paris, France -- Notre Dame Cathedral is being consumed by a massive fire. The cause of the fire is not known but it is believed to have started near a construction area. It is believed to have started around 6:00 pm Monday.

Although there is no known cause as yet, France has been the target of terrorist attacks. But at this time, there is absolutely no evidence of this. Yesterday was Palm Sunday.

Firefighters are working feverishly to try saving some of the priceless artwork inside and the good news is that some ancient statues had already been removed due to the construction that was to begin.

The interior wooden structure has been destroyed and one spire has been totally destroyed as well.

People are watching in disbelief and some have even been taken to the street in wheelchairs to view this historic tragedy.

At this time, 2:55 ET, the fire appears to be contained.

There are no reported injuries.

LA college district abolishes free speech zone as part of legal settlement

Kevin Shaw, 27, a Pierce College student and a member of Young Americans for Liberty, filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Community College District after he was stopped from handing out what the school evidently views as an inflammatory, disgusting document--free copies of the U.S. Constitution.

The reason the school stopped him from his anti-left activity was because he wasn't in the campus' "free speech zone" which puts other students in danger of opinions that differ from their professors'.

School officials settled the lawsuit this week when they abandoned the use of the zones and allowed students to open their minds. The "free speech zone" measured 616 square feet, large enough to park three cars.

As a part of the settlement, the minuscule area marked for students to exercise their first amendment rights will be abandoned altogether, revoking a district-wide policy that declared all property on the district’s nine campuses to be “non-public forums” with speech restrictions. As part of the settlement, the LACCD will pay Shaw’s $225,000 in attorney fees.

It's so great to see a young man with guts. I love this guy, but the LACCD should be made to publicly apologize to every student for limiting their First Amendment rights--on both sides of the aisle--although I kind of doubt that leftist speech was curbed by the school district.

“Though it was not without its difficulties, this experience has left me optimistic about the guiding principles of my country,” said Shaw in a statement provided to Fox News. “Folks of all political dispositions rallied behind this case to declare in no uncertain terms: freedom of speech is essential to the educational process.”

Freedom of speech is essential to freedom altogether.

It was right before the general election in November 2016 when Shaw attempted to hand out Spanish-language copies of the Constitution during a recruiting drive for his student group,

A leftist school administrator told him he couldn't distribute literature outside the designated zone. Shaw said at the time he was also told that he would have to fill out a permit application to use the free speech zone and would be asked to leave campus if he refused to comply.

“When I attempted to hand out copies of the Constitution that day, my only intention was to get students thinking about our founding principles and to inspire discussion of liberty and free speech,” Shaw said in a statement to Fox News in early 2017. “I had no idea I would be called upon to defend those very ideals against Pierce’s unconstitutional campus policies.”

Shaw received help from advocacy organization, The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), and filed suit back in March 2017.

Last January a federal district court denied the district and Pierce College administrators’ motion to dismiss Shaw’s lawsuit, finding that the open spaces of public colleges are traditional public forums for student speech regardless of regulations.

“Hopefully, this settlement will serve as a reminder to both students and their colleges that the free and open exchange of ideas on campus is a precious commodity to be celebrated rather than feared or restricted,” said Arthur Willner, attorney, and co-counsel with FIRE in the case.

A spokesman for LACCD did not immediately respond to requests for comment although he had his First Amendment right to say whatever he wanted to say to the media without having to stand in a "free speech zone" to say it.

A hot story about the Clintons

When the bedroom gets all fiery in the Clinton household it usually means Hillary is out and Bill has a guest. But this was an actual fire on Wednesday in the home of former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton in Chappaqua, New York, and it wasn't caused by Bill's lucky cigar.

New Castle police say the fire needed to be extinguished inside the home the Clintons bought almost 20 years ago. 

No injuries were reported and no details were provided regarding property damage at the 1.1 acre estate.

The loving couple purchased the home in 1999 for a mere $1.7 million.

Texas mosque burned down; cause unknown

Victoria, Texas -- An early-morning fire has destroyed a Texas mosque. This mosque has been the target of hatred in the past but the cause is still unknown.

According to The Victoria Advocate a convenience store clerk saw smoke and flames shooting up from the Islamic Center of Victoria around 2 a.m. Saturday and called the fire department.

Battalion chief Jeff Cowan of the city's fire department said that when they and the police arrived, the mosque was completely consumed in flames. 

It took about four hours to extinguish the blaze and there were no injuries reported.

Victoria Fire Marshal Tom Legler asked for help from state and federal fire investigators to determine the cause of the fire.

Shahid Hasmi, the Islamic Center president, would not speculate as to the cause, but he said the building was burglarized a week ago. In July 2013, a man admitted to painting "H8" on the outside of the building. That's a computer shorthand for the word "hate."

The mosque has a congregation of 100 members, and is not known to be a hotbed for terrorist ideology, anti-Christian, anti-gay,  anti-American and anti-Semitic teaching.

Drew Carey's kid says he helped start a fire at protest

Comedian Drew Carey's 11-year-old son, Connor Carey, is reportedly the young anarchist in a Fox News video of an inauguration rally where other anarchists were seen burning signs.

Connor happily told Fox News' Griff Jenkins that he "kind of started this fire" because "I felt it and because I'm saying 'screw our president.'"

It was TMZ who reported the child in the video was Drew Carey's son, but Carey's representative could not immediately verify that the little anarchist in the video was indeed the 58-year-old Carey's son. However, a photo on Instagram 'kind of erases most doubt.'

Drew Carey meanwhile emceed the Veterans Inaugural Ball: Salute to Heroes. It was hosted by The American Legion on Inauguration Day.

Drew Carey apparently wasn't aware of his kid's participation in the protest that night--so the question is "Why?" The child is eleven. Who was watching him?

According to TMZ, Carey told them he was "just having dinner with my kid down the street" and the tyke wanted to see the protest.

So did Carey let the child go unaccompanied? Now that's a stupid parenting decision. 

Supposedly, Connor "regretted his words" after speaking with his parents, who claimed to be upset with the kid's behavior.

London's Burning

A young gang member gets shot, his friends get angry at the cops who shot him, and young people all over London and the surrounding countryside go 'planet of the apes'. Vehicles and buildings are set on fire, people are attacked randomly, and 16,000 police are deployed--more cops than actually work in London--being brought in from other towns. PM Cameron tells the nation that the perps will feel the full force of the law.

Why is this happening? Is it really about the 29 year old man who was shot? Lefties say it's the fault of the banks, but as they say in England, that is balderdash. The left is trying to romanticize this criminal activity, saying that it's frustration over lack of jobs and funding for education. It somehow doesn't feel right to me that these kids are thinking more about their burning desire to go to school, than their burning desire to burn something. 

In Philadelphia there are "flashmobs" going into convenience stores and robbing them. Because these are angry young men, they think they are allowed to vent this way, but in reality,  it isn't venting, it's simply an excuse to get a new notebook, new smartphone, or whatever, and now there is a 9 pm curfew in Philly for kids under the age of 18 on Fridays and Saturdays. The Mayor has had enough and he wants parents to act like parents and take control of their kids.

In Ontario, Canada, of "flashrob" got together after coordinating a rendezvous at a local convenience store, and about fifty kids walked into the store and helped themselves to whatever they could grab. They used social networking to pull this off.


What's going on with our society? Is it the economy? Jobs? Social injustice? Or is it simply the fact that they can get away with it and get "stuff" without the hassle of having to pay for it?  I really welcome your opinion.
