NYC Mayor Mamdani's budget cuts come as no surprise

New York City socialist and anti-Zionist Mayor Zohran "Smiley" Mamdani claimed he will close the city's budget deficit without cutting services. Just like his 'free buses' claim  before he got elected, this too was a lie.

 Mamdani "closed" the deficit by holding back the city's pension payments while taking a bailout from Albany. This wasn't 'taxing the rich,' it was taking the money from hard working New Yorkers. 

His cuts to veterans' services, however, was the most disgusting of all, including events like parades. We veterans called it a "slap in the face," and it shows where the guy's priorities lie: to the Communist agenda.

We're talking a planned cut of a million dollars from veteran services and events like a ticker-tape parade for former military men and women, that we learned about on Wednesday.

If comrade Mamdani's budget goes through, it would be reduced by about $7.6 million in fiscal year 2026 adopted budget to $6.6 million in his 2027 budget he disclosed Tuesday, a reduction of more than 13%, according to city records.

Service-disabled Marine Corps veteran Osbert Orduna referred to the move “a slap in the face” to veterans, especially those living with visible and invisible wounds of war.

This makes perfect sense, of course. Democrats and socialists like Mamdani hate America, and they certainly despise the men and women who sacrificed to protect our nation and the world. In fact, many of them seem to be rooting for Iran to win the war with us.

"There will be endless billions for progressive nonprofits to 'organize' on behalf of the DSA and for useless pet projects and leftist special interests, but our veterans get less in the annual budget than we spend to build a single public toilet. It's a disgrace," Paladino wrote. "My district has the largest number of veterans per capita in the entire city, and my district office hosts the first and only veteran resource center in New York. I meet these men and women every day and my office tries to do everything we can for them, but we're already operating on a shoestring and it's heartbreaking to think we're going to have even less to offer them."

Bronx borough president Vanessa L. Gibson said they will be advocating for a restoration of these funds in the final budget.

"It’s insulting to cut any resources and programs from our veterans and military families for their service and sacrifice to this Nation. I hope this can be reversed," Gibson wrote on X.

NYC gets huge credit downgrade under Mamdani's poor mayoralty

What? No goofy smile?

New York City's Democratic Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani has proposed jacking up the city's budget in a big way.

Moody's downgraded New York City's financial outlook from "stable" to "negative" on Wednesday, pointing to a projected $5.4 billion budget deficit.

That gaping hole was laid out by Comrade Mamdani during a preliminary budget hearing back in February. The mayor wants to balloon the city's budget from $115 billion under his predecessor to $127 billion for the upcoming fiscal year, as millionaires flee the city.

A spokesperson for Mamdani pushed back, calling Moody's move premature. The rep pointed out that state lawmakers are eyeing roughly $5 billion in extra funding for the city.

Moody's statement did nod to the possibility that the proposed state aid "could have a stabilizing effect over time," but the ratings agency was quick to add that it would only count "if enacted."

If that Albany cash doesn't come through, Mamdani has floated hiking property taxes by 9.5 percent and dipping $980 million into the city's rainy-day fund. Moody's warned that pulling from reserves would "limit financial flexibility, especially if economic growth slows sharply or an outright downturn materializes."

New York City Comptroller Mark Levine described the potential tax increase and reserve raid as having "dire consequences." He called the Moody's outlook shift a major red flag.

"Moody's decision to review New York City's outlook to negative is a sobering wakeup call about the fiscal challenges ahead for us," Levine said.

This downgrade lands after a year of record Wall Street revenues and a solid local economy. Moody's kept the city's bond rating unchanged for now, even as it flipped the outlook. A full downgrade would almost certainly drive up New York's borrowing costs by flashing greater credit risks to investors.

The agency cautioned that a deeper rating cut could come if budget gaps swell to 10 percent of city revenue.

Mamdani has pinned the deficits on what he calls mismanagement during former Mayor Eric Adams's tenure, insisting prior budgets shortchanged cash assistance, rental support, and shelter services. In other words, he refuses to accept any responsibility, which doesn't bode well for future change in his socialist tactics.

The Adams years did, however, see the city take in more than 210,000 migrants, with housing and support costs estimated at roughly $4.3 billion. Those bills are still hammering the budget, but Mamdani's plans for dealing with the budget will only make things worse, as people with wealth wisely flee.

At the same time, Mamdani is pushing ahead with several expensive items from his campaign playbook, like expanded childcare and transit programs. Per estimates cited by the New York Post, his push to extend childcare to two-year-olds could jump from $73 million in year one to $425 million by 2027. 

The so called "free and fast buses" plan might run the city as much as $800 million.

Newsom slashed $100M from the fire budget just months prior to the Calif. fires

The incompetence is breathtaking. According to last years state budget, California Gov. Gavin Newsom cut the budget for wildfire and forest resilience by over $100,000,000. 

The budget covered the fiscal year 2024 to 2025 and eliminated $101 million from seven programs, according to Newsweek. If this doesn't cause Newsom's presidential aspirations to circle the proverbial bowl for 2028, this would mean the nation has the attention span of a moth.

As of this writing, the fires that have already destroyed more than 10,000 buildings in the Los Angeles area, are still not under control.

Cal Fire experienced a budget reduction of $5 million for its fuel reduction teams, which included funds for vegetation management tasks performed by the California National Guard, according to the report.

Additional budgetary adjustments included:

A $28 million cut from various state conservancies aimed at enhancing wildfire resilience.
A $12 million reduction in funding for a "home hardening" experiment designed to make homes more resistant to wildfires.
An $8 million decrease in monitoring and research expenditures, primarily allocated to Cal Fire and state universities.
A $4 million cut from the forest legacy program, which incentivizes property owners to engage in effective land management.
A $3 million reduction in support for an inter-agency forest data hub.

In response to these reports, Newsom's director of communications, Izzy Gardon, issued a statement to Fox News Digital, calling the claims of budget cuts a "ridiculous lie."

"The governor has doubled the size of our firefighting army, built the world’s largest aerial firefighting fleet and the state has increased the forest management ten-fold since he took office," she wrote. "Facts matter."

The office of Governor Newsom provided statistics emphasizing the overall growth in spending and personnel since he assumed office in 2019, rather than addressing the recent budget reductions directly.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams keeps NYPD budget status quo

Newly elected Democratic NYC Mayor Eric Adams in his first proposed budget has cut funding in several areas and has left the NYPD budget flat. He ran on a pro-law enforcement platform and even proposed an increase in the police budget, but now that he has been elected, he evidently feels that he can lie about his vow and do whatever he damn well pleases because he's "sick and tired" of everyone with differing opinions.

One thing Adams has done, however, is to shift some desk cops to the mean, littered crime-infested streets of the city.

“We’re going to redeploy our manpower," the sexist mayor began totally disregarding 'womenpower', which even autocorrect does not allow as a word. "We’re going to make sure that everyone who is supposed to be on the streets doing their job is doing their job, and then we will make the analysis if we have to put more money into it,” Adams said at a news conference Wednesday, according to former newspaper, The New York Times.

In order to help the city run more efficiently, 10,000 municipal workers have been cut through attrition and unfilled openings, as well as 1,430 being fired for not putting an untested vaccine in their bodies.

Adams' new budget will require the majority of city agencies to cut their budgets by 3 percent while inflation has risen around 7 percent. Makes perfect sense is you're Rep. Alexandria Obviously-Comatose.

The Department of Corrections and the Health Department are exempt from the cuts

“I’m not going to do anything that’s going to get in the way of keeping New Yorkers safe,” Adams, a former police captain himself, said angrily.

The dirty secrets in the Dem budget

As details emerge from our House Plant's $3.5 trillion spending bill, the dirty little secrets they've hidden within the bill have floated to the surface like a chocolate Tootsie Roll log in a California swimming pool--it doesn't look good.

The socialists [aka: the Democrats] tried to keep the details hidden and promised they wouldn't raise taxes for anyone making less than $400k per annum. But lo and berserk, they tricked us. 

"Unfortunately, the bill as it's being drafted would increase taxes on the middle class in a number of ways," Peter Sepp, president of the National Taxpayers Union said. "To say that the middle class will be untouched by this package is just disingenuous," [aka: a bald-faced lie].

The socialists talk about the "free stuff" in the bill, which, of course, is never free. But they mentioned to us that health care, universal pre-K and college, for example, wouldn't cost you anything, but as Sepp told News Radio KTRH in Houston, "Those benefits are being promised, but they come with a huge price tag. And in the process we are going to do very, very considerable damage."

Some of the money they won't discuss with the public, especially by Biden's buddies in the legacy media, consists of:

$4 billion to fix "racist roads." These roads evidently tend to favor White travelers and cause people of color and other victimized groups [in their own minds] to crash and burn.

$8 billion set aside for "climate police." If the weather gets too warm in a global kind of way, the climate police will take potshots at the sun with non-assault-style rifles. They will also shoot you if you drive a gas guzzler vehicle [unless you can prove you're a government bureaucrat, in which case you get a free pass].

And the most Orwellian part of the bill is the $80 billion slated to be used to hire an additional 87,000 IRS agents whose job it will be to scour your banking transactions and find more ways as well to bring even more money to the government with the end-goal of controlling every aspect of your life.

Of course there's more, but the above should suffice to worry you, which is actually my goal.

Currently, the Democrats are planning to slip the bill through during the holidays if Father Fauci permits us to celebrate them together and thus be distracted from politics in favor of family and friends. This is a typical Obama-era move when he did it with the Affordable Care Act, or Obama-care. And if you have to sneak a bill into law in order to pass it, what should that tell you about the bill?

Sepp says that even if the bill were to be cut in half, it will still be a clusterfark of spending.

Keep your fingers crossed and your masks on and breathe through you mouth if you wear glasses--that's what Democrats do even those who don't wear glasses.

Alexandria Obviously-Confused on $3.5 trillion bill: 'the problem' is "this conversation shouldn't be about numbers"

Rep. Alexandria Obviously-Confused (Duh-NY) aka: "Sandy from da Bronx" was interviewed by her sisters at the Communist Broadcasting System (CBS) "News" on Sunday [while her abuela has to make do in a house destroyed by a hurricane that AOC refused to help her with repairs]. The discussion was on the $3,500,000,000,000 social spending bill, a spending bill so large that it would take 110,985 years to count to at one second intervals to reach that amount, and even longer than Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders had been alive combined.

Obviously-Confused doesn't think the amount asked for is the point of the argument because she doesn't think. She has no concept of how much money the Democrats are asking for and believes the propaganda they're putting out there that it's going to cost "zero" dollars. AOC also believes talking about the amount would make the Democrats look bad, and on that point, she's right. But so would the notion that it would cripple our economy and ruin the economy of future generations.

“The head of your caucus, the progressive caucus, was on another network this morning and Rep. Jayapal [she's the one that looks like a Señor Wences hand puppet] said $1.5 trillion is just too small,” host Margaret Brennan said. “That’s the number that Senate moderates, Joe Manchin in particular, want to get down to. President Biden, according to our reporting from Ed O’Keefe, our correspondent, says you’re going to have to settle for about $2 trillion. Is that an acceptable ceiling for you?”

“So here’s where I think the problem is,” Obviously-Confused began. “It’s that when we talk about top line numbers, there’s a lot that is hidden in that discussion. And so the reason why this conversation shouldn’t be about numbers, but it should be about what substantive programs are willing to be excluded or that–”

“That’s coming from the White House,” Brennan interjected half intelligently.

“Yeah, but the White House isn’t making the demands to exclude universal childcare or universal pre-K,” the halfwit responded.  “The budget bill that House progressives are trying to fight for, the Biden Build Back Better agenda, includes universal pre-K, free community college, expansion of Medicare; we’re fighting for expansion of Medicaid. And these are the things that we are saying, in addition to the very real climate threat that we have, emissions reductions, are worth standing up for.”

And the money for these projects isn't remotely covered by the billionaires and [make-believe] trillionaires the left now pretends exists. If they handed all their money they make annually to the government in taxes, it still wouldn't cover the cost of this bill, not to mention all the hidden things inside of it.

Why should people be forced to fund things they morally object to like abortion or transgender ball-removing surgeries, for example? There is nothing about socialism that is moral, but it sounds as if it is.

Bernie Sanders 'major plans' to be funded by more taxes, lawsuits and unicrorns

Bernie Sanders released an unbelievable fact-sheet that can only convince people who have never been self-reliant on their existence or ran a business that his plan is anything more than a pipe dream, the pipe being loaded with crack cocaine and unicorn dung. The plan is "designed" to pay for his sweeping new "everyone gets a car, a house, free medical care, tuition forgiveness, and free school." And all that is needed to pay for it is mostly to come from new taxes and massive lawsuits.

The octogenarian communist tried to assuage complaints from Republicans and some rival Democrats [as well as others who own calculators and know how to use them], that his plans are crazy, economically bizarre, and naive at best.

Sanders revealed his crazy plan after he did a head-turning CBS News interview in which the frustrated commie said he couldn't "rattle off to you every nickel and every dime" about his proposed expenditures.

He released his silly plan on his website just minutes after promising to do so during a CNN town hall.

But, the fact-sheet highlighted for the first time that many of Sanders' expected cost-saving measures relied heavily on guess work with nothing to back it up. For instance, he claimed, with no details or evidence, that his Green New Deal would somehow create "twenty million new jobs," which would then ensure $2.3 trillion in "new income tax revenue."

Kids love happy stories.

Then again, with nothing to substantiate his wild claim, the old commie promised that by "averting climate catastrophe we will save $2.9 trillion over 10 years, $21 trillion over 30 years, and $70.4 trillion over 80 years."

Additionally, Sanders promised that by "averting climate catastrophe we will save: $2.9 trillion over 10 years, $21 trillion over 30 years and $70.4 trillion over 80 years." No information was provided to validate that hallucination.

At that rate, by 2200, we could save a quadrillion bucks and buy the moon. . . . then a quintillion bucks . . . a sextillion [that sounds like a Hollywood number] and so on. Give it time and Bernie will be able to put affordable housing on galaxies far, far away.

There'll be more money than trees to make the paper to print the money.

Axios makes unintentional joke about Alexandria Occasional-Cortex

Axios has got to be the leftist, dumbest, worst piece of liberal propaganda out there. Their latest piece on Alexandria Occasional-Cortex it titled; "It's ridiculous that it's unconstitutional for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to run for president."

The left has made this rather clueless person their biggest star since unseating lazy loser Rep. Hillary Clinton Joe Crowley in a wild surprising upset. Axios said that "her win didn't, in the final analysis, launch a wave of leftist primary victories only goes to show what a phenomenon she personally is."

I'll give her that she's a shrewd and tireless campaigner--there's no doubting that.

But just as obvious as her ability to knock on doors and turn on the charm is her lack of knowledge about government and even what her role is going to be when she is sworn in [she thought she was going to be 'inaugurated'] as a congresswoman.

Another thing that stands out about her is that she is a socialist and has virtually no understanding how our federal budget works. She wants "free" education and "free" health care, but cannot offer a solution as to how we can pay it. She believes that our military spending is about $21 trillion and all we need to do is cut it. But our military spending last time was around $700 million. In the entire history of the United States, we have not spent that much on military spending overall.

Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) doesn't know shinola on how our government is structured. She believes it is made of of three "chambers": the House, Senate and president. Even a school kid knows she's clueless.

Axios says that AOC has "incredible wit, charisma, social media savvy, and basic political smarts."

Seriously?

This is a young woman who is afraid to debate Ben Shapiro or even be interviewed by him. He offered her ten thousand dollars to her favorite charity to debate him. To avoid this, she called him a  cat-caller.

“Just like cat-calling, I don’t owe a response to unsolicited requests from men with bad intentions. And also like cat-calling, they for some reason feel entitled to one,” she tweeted.

Ben Shapiro is a married Orthodox Jew who is clearly in love with his wife and his religion. In a million years, Shapiro would not cat-call her or anyone. But AOC is afraid to debate someone who is obviously much more intelligent and knowledgeable about government and pretty much everything else that matters.

Axios is just a hack website of hardcore leftists who love socialism and Alexandria Occasional-Cortex.

Mizzou closes 3 more dorms as enrollment dives into the toilet

The University of Missouri says it's closing three additional undergraduate residence halls due to lack of interest of students and parents of students who don't want anything to do with racial protests and riots. This now brings the total of closed residence halls to seven.

Mizzou News Bureau associate director Liz McCune spoke to ABC17News and announced the Discovery, Responsibility and Center halls will close to "ensure that we are maximizing the space we have and being as efficient as possible with our resources."

In other words, they are closing these additional halls because they can't find students who want to be a part of the nonsense that has been going on at the school. 

Like the time a student journalist, Tim Tai, was on a freelance assignment for ESPN and protesters on Carnahan Quad had erected an encampment and Tai tried to cover the event. He got into a dispute with students and was physically attacked by them under the direction of a professor, Melissa Click.

Tai tried to discuss his First Amendment rights to be in a public area and the event was recorded by another student, Mark Schierbecker and went viral. Click saw what Schierbecker was doing and called for "some muscle" to remove him. 

It's all on video.

The next day, Tai was supported by Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder and others. Concerned Students 1950 passed out fliers saying the confrontation between journalists and protesters is a "Teachable Moment" and directed protesting students to welcome the media to campus as a way to tell the story of the protest. Unfortunately, most students had no idea what the purpose was, but 'protesting is cool' and a way to meet women.

Click resigned from her courtesy appointment at the Missouri School of Journalism (really, you can't make this up), and three other faculty anarchists apologized. On January 25, 2016, Click was charged with misdemeanor assault linked to the campus incident and accepted community service in exchange for dismissal of the charges.

Other shuttered residence halls at the school include Respect (another oxymoron), Excellence, Schurz, and McDavid. 

McCune told the media that the halls are closing to "make sure we have the flexibility necessary whether the numbers are low or high," saying that if the enrollment numbers are low, the school won't have to operate the unfilled residences. The same will likely go for the number of professors the school will need to teach the students protest techniques.

She added that despite the closures, the school plans to open a new 279-bed hall for 2017-2018 school year. 

Hopefully, that won't need to happen as people are becoming disgusted with leftist nonsense.

In January 2017, Mizzou saw its poorest enrollment figures since 2011 with only 31,010 students, peaking in the fall of 2015 at 35,448 students, but continued to thereafter decline after race protests in November 2015 and on into 2016.

In 2016, graduate enrollment dropped 25% from the previous year. A result of a brutal backlash against the so-called university by parents, students and faculty members.

The school is now experiencing a $20 million shortfall in their budget. Maybe the can organize a protest about how unfair that is.

United for free: U.S. moves to cut UN dues

It seems that nothing this administration does is ever quite out in the open where the sunlight can make it fresh and clean. 

We are now in a covert struggle with some of the poorer nations over the UN tab and how much the U.S. is willing to pick up over the next three years, according to FoxNews.com. The biggest part of the cost is the expenses paid out for peacekeeping activities.

Dag Hammarskjold, the second UN secretary general once said that the UN "was created not to lead mankind to heaven but to save humanity from hell." He was talking about the kind of hell mankind created in Hitler's extermination camps and the creation of the atom bomb.

In a recent article by The Guardian, it says: "The United Nations has saved millions of lives, and boosted health and education across the world. But it is bloated, undemocratic--and very expensive." 

Yes, it's so expensive that in its 70 years has spent over $500 billion. And while it goes to war to promote peace, it has been a bystander through genocide, The Guardian correctly points out.

So whether the Obama administration is being sneaky in deciding if we're going to pay the tab for other nations, the more important question is: do we need the United Nations anymore?

The UN is seen by the poorer nations as an organization dominated by the wealthier countries like the U.S. and much of the West.

And accounting for inflation, the cost of operations of the UN is 40 times higher than it was in the 1950s. Now the poor nations are hoping the U.S. can decrease the UN's "scale of assessments"--a dues system that favors poor nations and even less poorer nations that pay less than their 'fair share' as Obama would frame it. They want the U.S. and other rich nations to pay the difference of what they're not paying.

So the U.S. will continue to pay billions more than anyone else and other rich nations will have additional costs, but not as much as we will have. The Obama administration does not reveal our costs to the public, but it has increased significantly. Our last official contribution amount was in 2010 and was about $7.6 billion, but likely much higher than revealed.

In the process of increasing our costs to the UN, the plan is to quietly reduce the cost to others.

Heck, it isn't Obama's money anyway, right?

Obama Knows How a Stink Sandwich Tastes

It's not much different from yelling "Squirrel, squirrel" to the public--it's Obama changing the subject once again. You have to admit it; he's clever and knows how to distract us from the real issues.

Now we have our TV Personality in Chief speaking to a crowd of low-information twenty-somethings. He makes a lame joke, they laugh a lame laugh. He says the "GOP doesn't want to raise the minimum wage because it just helps young people." The crowd laughs lamely, for Obama has spoken with his silver forked tongue. He goes on: "I don't know what's wrong with helpin' young people--heh--folks who say that, next thing they'll say 'Get off my lawn'" The kids laugh lamely because they don't have their own lawn from which to get off. 

The More You Spend, The More You Save--the Moron Theory

Harry-I-Had-An-Orchiectomy-Reid is dissing Paul Ryan's proposed budget because of the following reasons: a) he actually has presented budgets 3 years in a row and makes Obama look like an incompetent, b) if Ryan's budget actually balances then it must be cutting entitlement programs and that's unacceptable to the Democrats who believe that everyone is entitled to what the rich, the millionaires and billionaires, corporate executives flying around in their private jets and corporate jets and yadda yadda yadda. I am getting so damned tired of this nonsense and I hope you are too.

Reid, in his falsetto, panty waist voice, made it sound like Ryan's budget is based on false math, but after over 1400 days, there has been nothing like a budget presented by the leftists, so any math is better than nada. 

Obama presented a budget, but it was so ridiculous that it received zero votes, exactly the opposite percentage of votes he received in certain districts in last election. (Not that I'm skeptical that there was any cheating going on--Barry's not that kind of guy. How could he be? After all, he took out 6 Republicans to dinner.)

But the Dems are planning to show a budget and from what I understand about it, there will be no real spend-down in the future and our debt will remain astronomical. People don't seem to understand how large a number 16 trillion is--if you counted one second at a time, it'd take half a million years to reach it. Imagine how big 17 trillion is, and what the Obama debt will be once he's finally gone--if he actually does leave quietly.

You can tax the entire salary of every American making over $250 thousand and you still will not pay off the debt because taxing us is not the answer. Unless, of course, Obama's ultimate goal is to take it all away from us and redistribute our capital equally. If this happens, we will all be in the same boat. We will all be poor while Obama keeps making the boat's hole larger to let the water out.

Harry Reid is blaming the Republicans for not solving the debt problem.  "I haven't heard anything from the Republican leaders. .  .  we have a proposal we know the president will sign . . . " but what are the Democrats bringing to the table? Nobody is really sure because they aren't saying.  Next Reid mentioned the 2 wars that "this administration didn't start; [I] don't want to go into that (so mentioning it is not 'going into that' according to Reid) and then said the American people believe there should be shared sacrifice. What is shared sacrifice? Tax increases? One less on-demand abortion for a liberal's teenage daughter? Socialism? Marxism?  Reid also claimed the president has been involved in the debt crisis, but let's be serious, the only way Obama could have been involved was by texting his input or posting it on Facebook. The only time he actually was involved (speech making doesn't count) is when he offered a budget plan that was so out in left field, he didn't even get one 'yes' vote.  Personally, I feel sorry for Obama because I'm sure this situation is ruining his golf weekends and effecting his handicap, (even though he hasn't made an appearance, but is keeping up appearances by not playing golf).  So the House rejected the Senate debt plan with the vote 173 yes, 246 no, and CNN is having an Ireport where viewers can make videos where they beg Congress to get the deal done. I have yet to see one conservative making a video--they just might tell the Republican party to stay strong and don't give in. CNN doesn't want to go there.

It was just announced that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are on their way to the White House to speak with Hussein Obama. It makes me wonder how they're planning on getting there. Pelosi is used to signing out US Air Force jets for herself and her friends to get around, and I suspect Reid may balance that by taking a bicycle. Well, it doesn't really balance it, but it looks good for the liberals and the mainstream media isn't going to mention Pelosi's jet-setting. They will, of course, mention the bike and how Harry Reid is helping the environment, won't they? Of course I'm kidding about the bike, but I'm totally serious about the USAF jets, and wrote it about it in a previous blog. Pelosi has literally cost taxpayers millions for jet fuel, booze and personnel, but she, like Obama, wants to tax corporate jet owners. What hypocrisy.

Who liberals love

Now John Boehner will be speaking about the vote. He feels the only thing standing in the way is Obama and Senator Reid.  Senator Mitch McConnel also spoke about the charade of the Reid bill not passing in the House. Boehner said that it's time for the president to tell us what he's for, and it's time for him to act.  I'm surprised Senator McConnel doesn't know that Obama is for socialism and sharing other people's money.  He's also for nuclear disarmament of the world, and when he is finally elected King of the World, he will finally get his wish.


So, the Republicans say they were in agreement with the Democrats but the Dems walked away, and the Democrats denied this assertion, instead claiming the Republicans are refusing to compromise. Why aren't these talks made public? Why can't we hear this process for ourselves? This is, after all, our money, our country, and our right to know what's going on. Instead the information we're hearing sounds more like a campaign response than a concerted effort to keep our nation solvent.


So we are hours away from the deadline and it's possible for the first time in American history, our country will default on its debts. Imagine the elderly who have been forced to put a substantial portion of their paychecks into Social Security, and a government that took their money to pay for things other than what the money was intended for--then ask yourself just who should be the target of their anger.
