Rep. Brandon Gill (R) introduced bill to ban Somali immigration for next 25 years

Fun Facts: Around 81% of Somali immigrant households in Minnesota, the state with the largest Somali population, receive some form of welfare (cash assistance, food stamps/SNAP, or Medicaid), according to a Center for Immigration Studies analysis of American Community Survey data from 2014–2023.

Key breakdowns (Minnesota, Somali-headed immigrant households): Any welfare: 81% (vs. 21% of native Minnesota households)
Food stamps (SNAP): 54% (vs. 7% native)

Medicaid: 73% have at least one member enrolled (vs. 18% native)

Cash welfare (TANF, SSI, general assistance): 27% (vs. 6% native)

Households with children: 89% receive some form of welfare

Well, Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) dropped the hammer with H.R. 7359, the Somalia Immigration Moratorium Act, on February 4, 2026. The measure would tweak the Immigration and Nationality Act so that, with a handful of exceptions, no one who is a citizen or national of Somalia could get a visa or any immigration status for 25 years after the bill becomes law.

Sounds like a good plan, but he should have gone for 50 years in my humble opinion.

Those exceptions cover people already here legally plus a few diplomatic and nonimmigrant categories. The bill also blocks Somali nationals from certain forms of withholding-of-removal relief. It has already been sent to the House Judiciary Committee, where it picked up cosponsors Mary Miller, Randy Fine, Andy Biggs, and Clay Higgins.

Gill has been out selling the idea by pointing to the usual data: sky-high welfare use, almost no English, serial fraud cases (Minnesota has been especially helpful), and the complete absence of anything resembling assimilation.

Progressives immediately labeled the whole thing a hate crime. It's surprising they didn't simply call Gill a racist and save time.

Disgraced ex-Sen. Al Franken wants to make comeback

Minneapolis, Minn. -- After almost a years since Democratic Sen. Al Franken resigned amid sexual misconduct allegations with photos, he is testing whether it's safe to try making a comeback while people still remember him and the #MeToo movement is still a movement.

Franken, a former "Saturday Night Live" comedian released a podcast on health care. A few days after Thanksgiving, the ex-Senator and Democrat posted on Facebook and said how much he missed "being in the fight every day."

By fight, he meant fighting with Republicans on every issue, good or bad. It's the only way a fat butterball like Franken can "fight" without actually getting hurt.

When I left the Senate I said I was giving up my seat but not my voice, and after the midterm elections I thought I'd start experimenting with ways to make my voice heard," the groper Franken said on his podcast. He ended it by saying, "Maybe I'll do another one, I don't know."

Had weird Al not been seen in a photo [taken by his brother, if memory serves] pretending to grab a woman's breasts, and then being accused by her of forcibly kissing her during a USO tour in the Middle East in 2006, he might-have-gone-all-the-way back to the Senate. But even if that had not come out, several other women claimed that he groped them while posing for photos.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, New York's Weather Vane [she only reacts to whichever way the wind blows because she hasn't the courage to have her own opinions] responded to the allegations against Franken by throwing him under the bus and called for him to step down. Other women Democratic senators did the same.

Franken, 67, announced his resignation in December but still maintained that some of the accusations were untrue--not all, just some--and he disputed the details. "I just touched her; I didn't squeeze."

Franken, who is Jewish, would have had a better chance of remaining in office if he was an anti-Semite and a Muslim like former Rep. Keith Ellison who is now Minnesota's attorney general and accused of sexual abuse.
And Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court despite an allegation of attempted sexual assault.

And if Franken's accusers had no proof to wild claims, and some even admitted to lying, like in the Justice Kavanaugh case, he still might have remained in office.

But the photos. Those dad-gum photos.

President Trump ridiculed Franken for not staying in the fray, for quitting too soon. At a Minnesota rally last month for a GOPer running in a special election to complete Franken's term, Trump said to the crowd that Franken folded "like a wet rag."

"Man. . . . He was gone so fast. It was like, 'Oh, he did something, oh, oh, oh, I resign. I quit. I quit. Wow," Trump said to his base.

Franken posted in his Facebook page that he is "certainly not running for anything." If he were, it wouldn't matter because his state Senate seats and governorship are locked in for the near future by fellow Democrats, some of whom worry and warn their colleagues of his return should it happen.

Norm Ornstein, a close friend of Franken’s for 30 years who is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative-leaning Washington think tank, said he and Franken have had discussions since the midterm election about how the former senator, former comedian might play a public role again.

Perhaps a school crossing guard.

“Even after being forced out of the U.S. Senate by his fellow Democrats a year ago, Franken seems to refuse to accept responsibility for his actions,” said Brian McClung, a Republican strategist who was spokesman for former Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

“Eight women accused him of sexual harassment. While people deserve second chances and the opportunity to redeem themselves, Franken has a long, long way to go,” McClung added.

Do as she says, not as she does: Democrat hypocrisy

Minnesota -- In yet another installment of Democratic hypocrisy, we have a scolding Democrat city official berating people who do not follow the snow-shoveling scofflaws but who, herself, does not follow them.

Hypocrite!

City Council President Lisa Bender, a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party owns a home in the Wedge neighborhood with her adoring husband. She backed a tough approach on fellow residents who don't shovel snow but alas, Bender has been the subject of seven (7) complaints last winter.

She and her adoring husband was issued a fine of $149 at a home they own.\ according to a report.

Bender told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that she was clueless about the condition her sidewalks were in after the snows in which neither she nor her adoring husband shoveled. Is she an idiot or merely a hypocritical Democrat who thinks she's above the long shovel of the law?
Not Lisa Bender nor her adoring husband
“We’ve owned our house for ten years. We’re a family of two working parents with two small children, and we do our very best to shovel our sidewalk at all times,” Bender lied.

But the bill she supported did not differentiate the number of kids a family has nor whether both parents worked. The snow had to be shoveled lest the fine be imposed. In other words, what's good for the goose is good for the Benders.

The city sent out letters earlier in the month reminding residents of the requirement to shovel their sidewalks after snowstorms, the paper reported.

Bender said she supports a stricter approach so that sidewalks remain clear this winter, according to the report, just not for her nor her adoring husband.

“If there are times when we haven’t gotten to it, then that’s why the city’s enforcement mechanism is there,” she cried. “I should not have to be treated like every other property owner in the city.”

Just kidding. She didn't really say that.

Jill Stein is still a fraud

In a last-ditch effort to maintain some sort of political relevance and maybe make a few bucks in the process, Green Party candidate and pain in the butt loser, Jill Stein, has escalated her push for a presidential recount. Hillary Clinton, sore loser to the Nth power is on the Stein bandwagon.

What's interesting is the states Stein chose to have the votes recounted: Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. All three went to Donald Trump by fairly close margins, but what about others that went to Clinton by fairly close margins as well?

New Hampshire went to Hillary with only a margin of 0.4%. Clinton got 47.6% and Trump got 47.2% What is Stein's rationale for leaving that state out of the recount?

Then there's Minnesota. The margin there was only 1.5% with Clinton at 46.4% over Trump at 44.9%.

I could go on, with other states like Nevada and Maine, at 2.4% and 2.7% respectively, but I won't bore you with the details.

The count is already underway in Wisconsin--about 4.8 million ballots have to be hand-counted.

What a moronic ploy by an irrelevant leftist whose tweet about the death of dictator Fidel Castro was: "Fidel Castro was a symbol of the struggle for justice in the shadow of empire. Presente!"

"A symbol of the struggle for justice in the shadow  of empire" implies that the US are the bullies and poor Fidel a conquering hero. What an incredibly stupid thing to believe, much less to say.

But I digress as usual.

Stein celebrated her decision to be a pain in our collective butts by bragging in front of Trump Tower about her concerns over "blank votes," adding that "We will not give in to intimidation."

Seriously, she's an idiot. If, as she says, "We are here to verify the accuracy of the vote," then why isn't she verifying the accuracy of to vote in other states where the former Worst Lady won by slim margins?

Possibly because they're both in on it, whatever 'it' is.

Muslims fear phantom "backlash" after NYC attack

Muslims, they all seem to remember the slaughter of thousands of Muslims after September 11, 2001 and on the same date in 2012. And how after Orlando and San Bernadino, American citizens gathered up and took to the streets as they went house-to-house to rout the Muslims out and beat them to bloody pulps.

Now the Hamas-linked Council on American Islamic Relations (which are progressively beginning to suck more and more) is worried that after the Minnesota mall stabbing of 9 infidels, that there will be reprisals against all Muslims as had happened in the past.

Except it never happened in the past. Americans aren't anything like jihadists--we're civilized and smart enough to know to whom we should mete out justice. And it's an insult for CAIR to say such things about us.

So when a Muslim goes on a killing spree as one tried to do at a St. Cloud, Minnesota mall, it's Muslims who are victims. What a load of diaper filler.

Islam obfuscates terror attacks and the media helps them to do so with claims of "lone wolf attacks," or statements that jihadist attacks are not Islamic.

Jihad is the epitome of Islam and it's going to take a lot more terrorist attacks and death before we tell the mainstream media to go to hell and take up the cause and fight back.

The most intolerant 'religion' on Earth wants us to be tolerant of them. The governor of Minnesota called for "religious and racial tolerance." That's what dhimmies always say and demand of the victims of the religion of peace. It is never Muslims who must be tolerant of Christians, Jews, atheists, gays and the list goes on.

The Star Tribune's headline said: "Family ID's attacker behind 'potential act of terrorism' in St. Cloud."

Hurting 9 strangers with a knife while asking them if they're Muslim may not be a terrorist act in Minnesota, but most people would likely disagree.

The rag went on to say:  . . . Jaylani Hussein, executive director in Minnesota of the Council on American Islamic Relations, said Sunday afternoon that "we are definitely concerned about the potential for backlash in the community, both in the immediate run and the longer term."

Hussein (not to be confused with Barack Hussein Obama) added that the attack was "an isolated incident, and we still don't know the full facts."

CAIR has no business being allowed to operate in the United States as they support Hamas and are an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror-funding case.

It's quite obvious that the only person in the presidential race who is willing to drop all political correctness and speak honestly about Islamic extremism is Donald Trump.

At least 5 cops injured by protestors in Minnesota

When white cops shoot black people the motive is clear to President Obama--it's a racist cop as far as he is concerned, even before the facts are known.

When a black man kills 5 cops and wounds 7 others, saying he has problems with white people, especially white cops, the president has no clue what inspired the black shooter's violence. His administration will be looking into it.

This non sequitur blather hasn't helped assuage the violence across the country. In fact, there have been violent protests in several cities since the Dallas shooter was taken down by a robot armed with an explosive device.

Some mouth-breather actually protested the use of an armed robot--they didn't think it was a fair to use a robot and would have evidently been satisfied if it ended in a shootout. These idiots would be the last people on earth to be among those who would get into an unnecessary firefight with the shooter, or to bad-mouth Obama on his use of drones against terrorists.

In Minnesota, at least 5 cops were hurt by rock-throwing anarchists in an anti-police protest over the police killings of black men (who were armed, we now know) in Minnesota and Louisiana on Saturday. They also used other debris and fireworks to attempt hurting police. Not enough of these people were arrested, but a number of arrests were made.

According to Fox9, bricks, bottles, construction rebar and liquids were also hurled at the cops, as was a Molotov cocktail.

This type of violence is unacceptable and measures need to be taken to protect our protectors.

Police used harmless smoke bombs to clear demonstrators from blocking Interstate 94, but about 200 of them refused to leave the roadway. Police in riot gear began to move the mob and the road reopened around 1:30 am, allowing people with actual employment to get to work in the morning commute.

We are becoming a Third World nation, but this time Obama refuses to say "That isn't who we are." Instead, he doesn't bat an eye when Black Lives Matter chants: "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em up like bacon." Or when the New Black Panthers chant "Kill the police."

America needs to stop racism on all sides of the issue, and our so-called president needs to stop dividing us and start uniting us. But I don't suspect that's in his game plan.

Seriously stupid Dumb-o-cratic candidate drops out

You cannot make this stuff up--a Dumb-o-cratic candidate for the Minnesota House tweeted Sunday that the Islamic State group "isn't necessarily evil."

His name is Dan Kimmel. The 63-year-old idiot must have one hell of a concept of evil if ISIS doesn't quite make the cut--oh wait--ISIS definitely makes the cut--it's actually what they do best.

But liberals believe they have the market cornered on empathetic understanding of human nature and the rest of us are gun-toting, Bible-clutching, race baiting, flag-waving, vast right wing conspirators who want the USA constantly involved in war and hate Muslims.

Kimmel is as wrong about that as he is about ISIS not "necessarily" being "evil." He's about as bright as the black hole in the Messier 74 galaxy. He is as dumb as a box of mentally challenged rocks.

Doing what's best for their community
The wisest thing he has done is drop out of the campaign. He believes that even liberals might not think that poor ISIS is just a bunch of misunderstood religious zealots like he does.

He pulled a liberal walk-back on the tweet, saying that it was poorly worded and didn't convey what he meant to say. Shades of Hillary!

The full tweet went like this: "ISIS isn't necessarily evil. It is made up of people doing what they think is best for their community. Violence is not the answer though."

I say, let's nominate Kimmel for the Democratic presidential ticket. I know he'd get the Muslim vote, but they're still in the minority as I write this, but it may not be too long when things change in this country.

Kimmel is the poster moron for people who were ruined by social media. He tried to undo what he said, but you cannot "unstep" in poo.
