Ultra Orthodox lawmaker was the man behind rescue of Israelis on Jordan border

United Torah Judaism Knesset member Moshe Roth. (Knesset)

In the early hours of Saturday, when most people are asleep, an ultra-Orthodox Knesset member, Moshe Roth, orchestrated a daring rescue of Israelis stranded in the perilous wilds of Jordan, as reported by Israel National News.

These were not mere travelers but families caught in a Kafkaesque nightmare, their flight from Larnaca to Aqaba delayed until midnight, leaving them at the mercy of a border shuttered since 8 p.m. Jordan, a land now so hostile to Israelis that it bears a Level 4 travel warning, offered no solace, except for the rare exception of rescue flights permitted to land in Aqaba, a lifeline for those fleeing to a homeland where Ben-Gurion Airport lies largely dormant.

Roth, a disciple of the Sanz Hasidic movement and a voice for United Torah Judaism, received a desperate call late Friday night. The Sabbath’s sanctity might have bound lesser men, but Roth, grasping the mortal peril facing these unguarded families, acted with the urgency of a man who knows history’s cost. He rallied his comrade, Deputy Transportation Minister Uri Maklev, alongside security officials and the Foreign Ministry’s Situation Room. The diplomatic machinery whirred to life: a Jordanian officer was roused from sleep, the crossing flung open, and the families, escorted by Jordanian police, crossed into Israel at 3 a.m., a mere breath from Eilat’s safety.

“In the end, the ones who took action, made the effort, and cared were the Knesset members from United Torah Judaism,” one of the rescued declared. “It didn’t matter to them who was stranded:  religious, secular, young people, or families. They gave us genuine help without asking questions; their only concern was to help Jews in distress.”

Such words cut through the cynicism of our age, revealing a truth too often buried; that in moments of crisis, identity and duty can still bind a people.

Roth, born in New York, carries the weight of his grandfather’s suffering, a Holocaust survivor beaten near to death “because of his Jewish identity.” In his first Knesset address in January 2023, he spoke of this as a “fundamental” force, a call to fortify the Jewish soul of the nation. Now, as head of the Knesset’s Ethics Committee, he has shown that such words are not mere rhetoric but a creed lived in the dark hours when lives hang in the balance.

Birdcage liner NY Times defames Orthodox Jewish community

"All the news that fits in your birdcage" New York Times, was blasted by Agudath Israel of America, an umbrella organization for Haredi Jews in the United States, representing a vast majority of the yeshiva world and many, but not all, Hasidic groups. Agudath has ideological connections with both the Agudath Israel Party and with Degel HaTorah [Flag of the Torah].

We are at a period in time in which anti-Semitism is on the rise. Agudath Israel of America said that The Times is “investing significant resources to contribute to an atmosphere of hate against those most identifiably Jewish.” [H/T UnitedWithIsrael.org]

The organization on Monday expressed "deep chagrin" with The Times' front-page article, "Why Some Hasidic Children Can't Leave Failing Schools," that Agudath says is "defaming and misrepresenting" the Orthodox Jewish community.

The article starts off with an anecdote on a divorced mother of 10, Beatrice Weber. She tried to withdraw her 10-year-old son from a yeshiva but “found that she could not do it” because “she had signed away that right in a divorce agreement drawn up by Hasidic leaders.”

The former newspaper went on to say that “[A]cross New York’s Hasidic community, parents like Ms. Weber often end up trapped in an impossible position, anxious to get their children out of some of the worst-performing schools in the state but hindered by social pressure and religious institutions.”

But Agudath pointed out in a statement that “the ‘reporting’ exclusively features the opinions and stories of individuals who have left their communities and those closely affiliated with groups dedicated to tearing down traditional Jewish education and helping religious people leave their roots.”

In other words, the anti-Semitic 'reporting' only included those people who have left their Hasidic communities and those who are against Jewish education, not typical religious Jews. And The Times gets away with this crap because anti-Semitism has become acceptable to many on the left, including secular Jews who seem to be ashamed of their heritage.

Of course this is also acceptable to the far right, which is a tiny minority of the country, but the left would like us to believe they include everyone who voted for Trump.

Agudath went on to say, “[C]onversely, notwithstanding repeated outreach to the Times, the paper has consistently shunned any narrative that does not portray the Orthodox community as backward, societal leeches, controlled and persecuted by their own religion. Even the photographs selected, the sullen faces and marching children, are marshaled to further this narrative. This, notwithstanding that the Orthodox Jewish community produces thousands of hardworking, successful, civic-minded, peaceful families, who are an asset to every New York community they choose to reside in.”

During a time of rising antisemitism, the Times is “investing significant resources to contribute to an atmosphere of hate against those most identifiably Jewish,” Agudath Israel added.

So to all my Jewish friends who drink their overpriced Starbucks coffee while reading their Sunday Times, wake up and actually smell the coffee. They'll be coming after you too and they'll be coming after Christians as well. But they'll probably leave the Muslims alone because they fight back with a vengeance.

Young Jewish family from Belgium attacked by parolee with knife in lower Manhattan

A young Hasidic couple, ages 22 and 24, and their one-year-old baby, came from Belgium to visit New York City and were attacked by an ex-convict with a knife near Battery Park in lower Manhattan.

The father bravely fought off the attacker and suffered injuries to his head that needed a dozen stitches according to BoroPark24, a local news site. His wife suffered cuts to her lip and the baby was cut on his chin by the human pile of excrement who was on parole for attempted murder.

The alleged scumbag was arrested and charged with assault and possession of a weapon, among other counts.

We can thank the Democrats for the fact that the slasher was out on the street and that the city has adopted anti-police/pro-scumbag policies enacted by Gov. Cuomo and comrade Mayor de Blasio.

No mention in press reports of the family’s visible Judaism but the NYPD said the attack was considered a "possible bias incident." The NY Hate Crime Task Force is also investigating why a lunatic with a knife would attack a Jewish family dressed in formal Hasidic garb and forget to yell anti-semitic slogans.

Perhaps we should ask members of the Democratic Party such as Ilhan Omar, AOC or Rashida Tlaib.

The woke are anti-Semitic among other nasty things.

NBC Show depicts religious Muslims as bigots--oh wait--make that Jews

As creativity continues on its journey of circumnavigating the bowl, NBC has come up with a new show based on the tired old hospital-based drama that feels as if it has been around since Hippocrates applied his first bandaid and swore an oath.
But now the network is catching heat for it Wednesday episode of "Nurses," in which there was "an offensive portrayal of an Orthodox Jew" that was immediately labeled "anti-Semitic" by social media users, according to the Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Had the network singled out Muslims instead of Jews, the show would have been just as offensive and disgusting, but never let it be said that NBC has the stones to pick on the "Religion of Peace."

“The objectionable storyline occurred on an episode of ‘Nurses,’ a Canadian hour-long drama following a group of nurses in a Toronto hospital. In the episode, a young Hasidic patient is told he will need a bone graft to heal his broken leg, leading his devout father to recoil at the possibility of a ‘dead goyim leg from anyone. An Arab, a woman,'” the outlet explained.

The word "goyim" is a Yiddish word for a non-Jewish person.

The episode is actually a string of bizarre and utterly false depictions of Orthodox Jewish individuals.

The son, who is suffering from a broken leg, skipped shul [synagogue] to play basketball — an activity he, the show says, is forbidden from. And after it is explained he will need a bone graft, one of the main character nurses (who is an admitted atheist) attempts to quote scripture to the pair — who will not speak to her because, being religious zealots, they do not speak to women — and then claims to be a messenger of God warning the pair to acquiesce to medical treatment.

Orthodox Jews do speak to women [e.g., Ben Shapiro; e.g., Dennis Prager]. Hasidic Jews also speak to women, but they do not shake hands with them and vice-versa for Hasidic women.

The nurse eventually loses the argument, the Jews choose prayer over medicine, and the boy is escorted out of the hospital, while in the voiceover, the nurse says, “What do we do when we can’t save someone? Faced with a battle that can’t be won?”

How many idiots like this nurse can fit on the head of a pin?

The interaction shocked viewers — particularly Jewish viewers — prompting an outcry on social media. BECAUSE THE PREMISE OF THE STORY IS BULL-CRAP!

The American Jewish Committee (AJC) tweeted:
“Twice in one week, @NBC? First we heard Michael Che’s antisemitic falsehood on @NBCSNL. Now ‘Nurses’ employs this disgusting depiction of Orthodox Jews. Continuous, negative portrayal of Jews invites antisemitism to flourish.”
The AJC was  referring to a Weekend Update segment from the last Saturday Night Live show when Michael Che implied that Israel was only administering the COVID-19 vaccine to Jewish residents--another pile of smoking bull-crap.

A blogger who posts about Orthodox Jewish life, explained why the episode was incredibly insulting to Jews.

“The idea that such a surgery would be problematic in general or problematic because of where the bone came from not only is categorically false according to Jewish law, it is a vicious lie that endangers men who walk around with curled side-locks [known as payot] and black hats,” she said, referring to Hasidic males.

“For those of you unfamiliar with Jewish law, which puts precedent on healing and saving lives, there is no prohibition on the kind of bone graft in this clip. The writers made it up, dressed their actors in Jew-face, and put random extremist nonsense in their mouths,” another commentator, Liza Rosen, added.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) demanded that NBC pull the episode and “review their standards for approving dramatic content so that this doesn’t happen in the future.”

NBC has since pulled the show.

Couple busted for tearing off masks of Hasidic Jews

Photo: Reuters
BROOKLYN, NY -- A pair of anti-Semites from Queens were arrested for rearing off face masks of ultra-Orthodox Jews in Willaimsburg, Brooklyn.

Paulo Pinho, 35, and Clelia Pinho, 46, were arrested Monday and charged with hate crimes for the attacks in which they also shouted antisemitic slurs, according to a report by ABC News.

The incident took place at around 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Bedford Avenue and Ross Street, not far from the old Ebbets Field where the Brooklyn Dodgers once played. The neighborhood has a large Jewish population.

Paulo Pinho allegedly called the police to a report a large crowd gathering after he realized his anti-Semitic act did not go unanswered. The NYPD said the two anti-Semites exited their vehicle to accost the Hasidic men which led to a physical altercation they evidently didn't expect. The scumbags were detained and held by the Shomrim, a volunteer watch group whose philosophy is 'never again.'

The Pinhos [whose name translates to "Pinheads"] were later arrested by NYPD officers.

"You’re the reason why we’re getting sick,” one of the suspects allegedly said, according to the NYPD. The couple added that “the mayor says you Jews are the reason we’re getting sick.”

The mayor they were referring to is Bill de Blasio, [whose real name is Warren Wilhelm] who has also been accused of having anti-Semitic sentiments but, in an unprecedented move, he condemned the attack and said the NYPD will ensure that there are consequences for such actions.

De Blasio drew well-earned criticism in late April after he singled out “the Jewish community” in a trio of tweets when announcing that he had instructed his police department to fine - or even arrest - social distancing violators. Evidently, his words helped inspire this latest anti-Semitic hate crime.

For example, in late April, A. H., 30, also of Queens, told a Jewish man at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Fort Lee to leave the public establishment and claiming the Jews are responsible for the coronavirus, which is ridiculous. He warned the Jewish man not to return.
In spite of his hatred of Jews, this cretin gets
his inspiration from one

The idiot also told the Jewish man not to come back.

As a way of diluting the spate of anti-Semitic attacks across the nation, de Blasio brought anti-Asian attacks into the conversation and said that "whether it is this horrible antisemitic act that we saw or the horrible anti-asian acts we saw in previous weeks, none of these acts of bias or discrimination are acceptable in New York City."
