With elections near, rapist of NYC jogger held without bail, for a change

The homeless New York City alleged serial rapist, who was recently accused of choking and sexually assaulting a woman jogger, was uncharacteristically held without bail during his Friday afternoon arraignment. With the New York gubernatorial election next Tuesday, the Democrats want to pretend that they are tough on crime so they're holding the [alleged] perpetrator as his victim remains hospitalized in an intensive care unit.

The known thug, Carl Phanor, 29, appeared before Judge Jonathan Svetkey and is facing an initial charge of first-degree rape and two counts of predatory sexual assault and strangulation. There are also other charges but these are the heavies. He was led into the courtroom just before 2:45 p.m. Friday, wearing a light gray hoodie sweatshirt, sweatpants and handcuffs. Except for the latter accoutrement, he appeared to get his fashion sense from John Fetterman. He tended to sway as he stood in front of the judge.

He did not enter a plea during the appearance, when Svetkey ordered him to be held without bail and to undergo a mental health assessment before his next court date on Nov. 9.

Meanwhile, the victim of Thursday's attack is being treated for bone fractures.

Prosecutors said that Phanor goes by several aliases and has demonstrated a "clear predatory pattern."

Phanor, who police said is homeless, is being represented by a court-appointed attorney. The defense attorney asked for bail to be set, and told the court that Phanor had been abandoned by his parents and needs mental health assistance. So he's the victim, not the 43-year-old jogger he allegedly injured and raped.

The suspect was taken into custody only hours after his most recent alleged attack on Thursday.

The jogger had been running along a path near West Street and Pier 45 around 5:30 a.m. Thursday when Phanor approached her from behind, according to the New York Police Department.

The man grabbed her and began choking her, causing her to partially lose consciousness, police said. He allegedly knocked her to the pavement, then took off her clothes and raped her.

He then ran off, but not before grabbing the victim's debit card, wallet, cellphone and headphones, police said.

The victim was able to get the attention of another jogger, who called the police. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Gabrielle Sumkin, who identified herself as the passerby who called police, told the New York Post she had spotted the woman with torn, dirty-looking clothes and no shoes.

"She was just wearing one sock," Sumkin told the Post, adding that the woman was holding her eye. "This woman seemed like she was legitimately very hurt, and it was clear that something had happened to her."

Sumkin reportedly recalled the woman saying, "I need help."

Police said later on the same day of the incident that Phanor was also wanted for two prior incidents: one from October and another from March.

A 48-year-old woman had been walking along the FDR Drive service road, near East 37th Street in Manhattan, around 5 a.m. on Oct. 6 when Phanor allegedly approached her from behind and choked her, police said.

He then ripped her pants as he tried to rape her, but the woman fought back, police said. Phanor allegedly stole her wallet and cell phone before he fled the scene on a bicycle.

Police said he later tried using the victim’s credit card at a nearby smoke shop.

And months earlier, on March 27, a 39-year-old woman had been jogging in the area of Pier 40, just blocks away from the scene of the November attack, when Phanor approached her on a bike, cops said.

Phanor allegedly "pushed the victim to the ground and began to choke the victim," the NYPD said.

He then sexually assaulted her and stole her cell phone before fleeing on the bicycle, police said.

In all, Phanor was charged with first-degree rape, two counts each of predatory sexual assault, two counts of strangulation, two counts of robbery and a single count of a first-degree criminal sex act, court records show.

The alleged serial sex criminal reportedly has had 25 prior arrests and under Kathy Hochul's governorship and Eric Adams' mayoralty, this monster was still out on the street victimizing female New Yorkers who will probably vote for them on Tuesday.

Maxine Waters pisses off homeless after telling them to go home

Even racists and dummies in Congress can get rich off the taxpayer's dime, and when you combine the two, you get Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA). The idiot recently told California homeless people seeking housing to literally "go home."

The Los Angeles Times reported on an event from last Friday put on by a not-for-profit agency to assist the homeless to find emergency housing. Like many Democratic inspired events like BLM and Antifa riots, this event also turned into a clusterfrack of angry men and women who, on social media were promised housing vouchers known as Section 8 vouchers for permanent, subsidized housing.

The maskless moron made her way into the crowd, her mask under her chin, and said to the people gathered there: “I want everybody to go home.”

Brilliant as always.

Her snide comment drew harsh responses from the homeless in the crowd.

“We don’t got no home. That’s why we’re here. What home we gonna go to?” one person yelled at Waters, improperly using a double-negative when a negative would have done the job, but hey, I'm not the Word Police.

You can watch the video in this tweet:

After flashing a smile at the crowd, she told them, “Nothing is going to happen here today. Nothing is going to happen anymore today.” She told them that she would contact the LA Homeless Services Authority, as if that would solve anything, but as previously mentioned, Waters is an idiot and that organization is as effective as garlic shampoo for regrowing hair.

One speaker blamed Waters, saying her staff had denied a meeting with homeless advocates and only respond to prank calls by Greta Thunberg and her father.

Waters responded in anger when confronted by that person.

“Excuse me, there’s nobody in Washington who works for their people any fu*king harder than I do. I don’t want to hear this. No, no, no,” she said very ladylike.

Perfectly sums up how Democrats feel about the people they govern.

When Waters was asked to work with the housing advocate, she replied that she was doing her job.
“That’s what I do every day. The money that you got thus far came from me in Washington, D.C.,” she said, forgetting that none of it came from her but from the taxpayers. “I will continue to work. I will get the information out to you.”

As she spoke, one voice in the crowd scoffed at her claim by saying, “I still live on the damn streets.”

In a follow-up call, Waters said the incident was “a bunch of rumors” and requested the Los Angeles Times not publish the story because she might lose votes if the public knew how horrible she is at her job and how little she actually cares for the people she pretends to represent.

“You’ll hurt yourself and the community trying to put this together without background,” she said. “I don’t want you to start trying to write it. You won’t understand it,” implying the people at the newspaper are too stupid to understand the situation.

Blanca Jimenez, Waters’s district director, later shared a TV report that was positive about the congresswoman’s appearance at the Friday event.

“Someone shared this photo with the office,” Jimenez said. “Isn’t she brave?”

No. Maxine Waters is not brave. She's incompetent, angry, racist and a liar. In other words, she's a leftist. But she wouldn't know brave if she met a Medal of Honor winner.

Venice Beach residents demand LA officials act on homeless encampments and crime

Let's call them Bagavonds

The residents of Venice Beach, California are getting what they voted for as homeless encampments and crime continues to fester. And with the Super Bowl on Sunday, they were hoping that ticket holders to the game wouldn't need to see the feces on their streets and the homeless people who put it there.

Around 70 homeless folks of all stripes and odors have been camping overnight at Venice Beach as America's football game gets ready for kickoff and tailgaters get ready to ingest unhealthy food and drink. A recent set of fires associated with the homeless living there has residents worried the fires will spread to their luxury homes and businesses if the Democrats in the city continue to sit on their hands and do nothing, as they tend to do.

Venice Neighborhood Council President Mark Ryavec told Fox News Digital that the 70 or so homeless woh remain in the neighborhood even after last summer's 200 homeless were cleared out, are among the most dangerously drug addicted and mentally ill who have remained. This is obviously due to the indifference of the Democratic Party who are in power there.

Los Angeles city leadership "didn't finish the job," Ryavec said and contends that the LAPD needs more resources and only comes weekly to clear out the homeless. He believes they should do this several times a week to be effective.

"The police and other city agencies have made a valiant effort with too few resources. They're only out there one night a week. And basically, the campers just play cat and mouse," Ryavec said. "The police will tell them to leave, they'll leave and then the police leave, and they come back. So, they're never actually gone. And our concern is another major fire and one that might include the loss of life."

It's a game and the cops know it; the city knows it, and they don't care. As long as it looks like they're doing something, that's all that matters to them if it will keep them in office.

A lawyer for the Venice Neighborhood Council sent a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, a serious contender for the award of "Nation's Worst Mayor." Now that Bill de Blasio is gone, Garcetti is a shoo-in.

City Councilman Mike Bonin, City Attorney Mike Feuer and other officials last month warned that the city could be liable for millions of dollars in lawsuit payouts if a fire linked to overnight homeless encampments again spreads to homes or businesses.

But what about crime? Is the city free of legal recourse if they refuse to do their job?

Last January a fire from a homeless encampment jumped to a vacant building and more than 100 firefighters were called to put it out. The owner of the building is suing Los Angeles.

"Frankly, the city and the social service agencies created the problem by making it so attractive to live outside of Venice Beach," Ryavec said. "You have the bathrooms open 24 hours. Now there are social service agencies that constantly are bringing down and giving away free food.

"They were handing out tents, they were handing out blankets. They even have a doctor from the local free clinic coming down. Some people prefer that to, you know, actually getting their own apartment."

Is this any different from how the government is encouraging illegal immigration across the southern border? Instead of handing out tents, the government is handing out flights across the country.

The January 6th protest against the government had the right message but the wrong presentation.

There is something in the air and I'm not referring to the homeless encampment odors.

Woman allegedly belt beaten by NYC homeless man victim of oppression: she is now like "traumatized"

A woman who, in Midtown Manhattan, was allegedly beaten with a leather belt by a homeless man, an obvious victim of our racist society as he is Black, says she is "traumatized" after being randomly attacked. [H/T The New York Post]

"I’m not going back to work until I know this guy’s put away," Diamond Loubriel told the paper. "I’m really traumatized, I can honestly say."

Loubriel, 21, and an aspiring English professor, was sitting outside of her workplace, Black Seed Bagels on West 49th Street near Sixth Avenue, at around 7:45 a.m. when police say Kamal Walker, a homeless Black man victim, came up from behind and hit her because he is very oppressed.

"I was sitting down on the phone talking to my sister and he just comes out of nowhere and starts attacking me," the woman recalled.

"I didn’t even see him come toward me," she continued. "He hit me and I looked up like and I’m like ‘what the f**k is going on?’"

Yes, she was like, like you know.

The Alphabet City resident [that's on Manhattan's east side where the avenues are named "Avenue A," "B" etc.] described how Walker was allegedly "putting all his manpower" into swinging the belt at her back.

"It was like if he was beating the f**k out of me," she said in her ladylike profane way. Sadly, Loubriel was totally out of f**k and didn't know from where her next one would be coming.

Shocked, Loubriel said she tried to protect her face from the blows – until she finally gathered the strength to stand up.

But once she got up, the homeless creep ran off.

"I got up and I was gonna f**king do something and he just started running," Loubriel recalled eloquently.

She added: "Well if you’re gonna hit me, threaten me, at least stay put. Give me a chance to f**king defend myself."

Seattle: The homeless brag about slapdash 'mansion' near Space Needle

Seattle, one of the most beautiful cities in the United States, has now become home to a horde of homeless people. They are bragging about the mega tent slapdash "mansion" they've thrown together near the famous Space Needle and they don't appear to have any plans of leaving anytime soon and are taunting local politicians.

"If you can live on the street and not pay rent, then why would you pay rent?"

The camp is located on a small patch of grass on Third Avenue and Broad Street. It's only about a half-block from the Space Needle and surrounded by multi-million dollar high-rise condos.

Those homeless sure know how to live and taunt.

"It is a form of protest," said Melissa Burns, a "mansion" dweller, to Q13 News. "We're staking a claim. We're refusing to cower in our tents."

Prior to this, Ms. Burns was living in a nearby public park where she was one with the squirrels and pigeons (aka sky rats).

"We've got the doors, the couch, the table," she said. "We've got the living room here, which is a mess right now because we're still constructing, but we're putting up the vinyl to cover it up, make it more attractive."

Yes, vinyl is a great way to make furniture look more attractive. Burns must have been an interior decorator before moving out into the world.

She went on to explain that the sprawling homeless-stead is made of wood pallets, chairs, tents, umbrellas, tarps and whatever other garbage people pick up that feed their visual hallucinations. She admitted it isn't a "discreet" construction.

"Some people are cheering us on, and some people are really angry about it," she said, referring to people who aren't homeless. Those who cheer live nowhere near the "mansion." Those who are angry are likely those living in the condos nearby.

Mental health teams are working with Seattle officials to come up with a way of convincing the homeless squatters to disperse and go away. Perhaps if they offered them jobs, they would run like gazelles being chased by lions.

At this time, spokesman Will Lemke said the city has no plans to remove the camp, but that may change in the future if [when] there's a problem with the law, public health and the safety of those in the "mansion."

Libertarian candidate wants to arm the homeless with shotguns

Brian Ellison, a Libertarian candidate in Michigan, believes that arming homeless people with shotguns will reduce crime.

I suspect it will reduce the population of homeless people in Michigan.

Seriously, Ellison thinks that putting shotguns into the hands of the homeless, a group known for its array of interesting hallucinations and delusions, is a good idea. And he has an excellent chance of becoming the party's Libertarian candidate in the upcoming midterms.

Yes, it's true that the homeless are frequently at risk of violent crime. But is arming them really the way to go?

He'll be challenging Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow for the U.S. Senate seat in November if he wins his party's nomination.

Ellison told the Guardian that he thinks handguns for the homeless would be ideal, due to tough gun laws, [and the fact that few would pass a background check due to lack of mental health, etc.] shotguns are the only alternative for them.

"Frankly, I think the ideal weapon would be the pistol," he said, "but due to the licensing requirements in the state we're going to have a hard enough time getting homeless people shotguns as it is."

"Getting them pistols is probably next to impossible. The pistols need to be registered, people have to have addresses."

"Open-carrying a long gun is completely legal," the lunatic said, while carrying a concealed handgun is illegal without a permit. "So we thought that pump-action shotguns were a suitable alternative to a pistol."

This guy is going to lose if he wins the nomination. He's going to lose bigly, mainly because of this idea.

I am totally in favor of the Second Amendment. I support the idea of owning any semi-automatic weapon you can name. I am even against the newly proposed aged requirement for long rifles, but arming the homeless is not a good idea.

Ellison asked: "Well, are you worried about the police being armed with military weapons? I am. The world we live in is a scary world, where the police who used to dress in short-sleeved shirts and carry a revolver now have long rifles with scopes and bulletproof vests and armored vehicles.

"And quite frankly that scares me much more than a homeless person trying to defend themselves with a shotgun."

So Ellison calls long rifles 'military weapons' as if that means the police are planning a coup.

All weapons, at one time in the past, were military weapons. As weapons became modernized, the police had to follow suit, rather than using revolvers and being outgunned by the bad guys. And what's wrong with bulletproof vests? Cops want to go home to their families too.

Ellison's premise and fears are just plain stupid, and this is why we have a Second Amendment. This is also why we have elections, but sometimes the stupid candidate wins (see, for example, Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden).

But arming the homeless, people who cannot be properly vetted, is just plain crazy.
