ICE chief: Oakland mayor helped criminal illegals escape

Northern California -- More than 850 illegal immigrants were able to elude deportation officers this week. The head of the deportation force on Tuesday blamed Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf for helping some of them escape.

Over 150 illegal migrants were rounded up in the operation, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and half of them had criminal convictions, according to ICE.

One arrest was of a 38-year-old Mexican Sureno gang member who had been deported four previous times. Others had been convicted of domestic violence, drunken driving, and weapons possession.

According to ICE, 864 criminals are being sought and remain at large in the Oakland and San Francisco region.

Mayor Schaaf issued a very public warning to the community that ICE was making arrests, which is a violation of the law and puts ICE officers in grave danger. Her reasoning is that she wanted to make the criminals aware the law was coming and to take needed steps to protect themselves from them.

By allowing criminals to escape, Schaaf also put her community at risk, and Thomas Homan, top ICE official, isn't happy about it.

"I have to believe that some of them were able to elude us thanks to the mayor's irresponsible decision," Homan said.

One of the scumwafers who got away was a Honduran who was arrested for transporting cocaine and for having sex with a child under 16. Another was a Mexican with drug and firearms convictions. Both had been in police custody before but authorities refused to hold them for pickup by ICE, the agency said. Both had been deported multiple times but were able to sneak back into the country as there is no wall to stop them.

Schaaf said she had an obligation to protect the city's residents, "particularly our most vulnerable." Evidently she hasn't a clue who the most vulnerable are--the unarmed citizens, children and elderly who frequently fall victim to these criminals.

Of course, Schaaf is a Democrat. 

Hopefully nobody will fall victim to these criminals and that Ms. Schaaf will be tried criminally for her interfering with law enforcement.

ICE to Brown: 'No choice' but to arrest illegal aliens

Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) top official, Thomas Homan, said in a statement that the agency has "no choice" but to arrest illegal immigrants in California's worksites and neighborhoods despite newly signed illegal sanctuary city legislation.

Those who get arrested will probably be placed in out-of-state detention centers.

Homan's statement came one day after "Governor Moonbeam" Jerry Brown (Duh--Calif.) signed bill SB54, a sanctuary state legislation.

The bill goes into effect on January 1st and bans police from asking people about their immigration status or participating in federal immigration enforcement activities that make our nation sovereign.

Jail officials would only be permitted to transfer inmates to federal immigration authorities if they've been convicted of certain crimes--other criminals convicted of crimes not on the list will be permitted to stay and vote Democrat.

Homan said the bill protects illegal immigrants from lawful deportation and makes California a "magnet."

"Ultimately, SB54 helps shield removable aliens from immigration enforcement and creates another magnet for more illegal immigration, all at the expense of the safety and security of the very people it purports to protect," Homan said.

Brown noted the bill doesn't prevent ICE from operating in California. His office declined to comment further on Homan's statement.

"They are free to use their own considerable resources to enforce federal immigration law in California," Moonbeam wrote, but said the law does prevent the "commandeering of local officials" to do immigration work.

Evidently, Brown is not a team player and, as a kid, was never chosen for a side in any schoolyard games.

"These are uncertain times for undocumented Californians [and future Democratic voters] and their families, and this bill strikes a balance that will protect public safety while bringing a measure of comfort to those families who [don't legally belong in the U.S. and] are living in fear every day [because they broke the law]," Brown said.

Democratic Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de Leon, who carried the bill, said Homan's statement "exemplifies the fear mongering and lies that guide this Administration."

The fear mongering may have started in 2015 when Kate Steinle, a San Francisco woman, was fatally shot at a pier by a Mexican national who had been deported five times. A law known as "Kate's Law" was passed this June which would increase penalties for deported aliens who try to reenter the United States.

Conservatives believe Homan's statement exemplifies a respect for the law and going about the process of citizenship the proper, legal way. Many legal immigrants believe that it's unfair that these people circumvent the system after they themselves have abided by the law.

Democratic California lawmakers have created barriers to President Trump's campaign pledge to bolster deportation of illegal aliens. There's no doubt that this would not be the case if illegal aliens would vote for the GOP in the future.

California is sanctuary to about 2.3 million illegal aliens who, if deported, would create openings for about 2.3 million jobs.

President Trump has threatened to withhold federal money to sanctuary cities, which in turn, have filed lawsuits to prevent that from happening.

Hopefully they won't have it both ways.

San Antonio trailer deaths reveals driver has long criminal history

James Mathew Bradley Jr., the 60-year-old accused of allowing 10 illegal immigrants to bake to death inside a sweltering, non-air conditioned tractor-trailer Sunday appeared in federal court Monday. He is charged with illegally transporting immigrants for financial gain, resulting in death.

Bradley, from Clearwater, Florida, didn't enter a plea nor did he speak about what happened. He has been ordered held for another hearing Thursday.

Florida driving records obtained by Fox News indicate the state revoked his commercial driving privileges in April. 

Bradley has an extensive criminal record dating back to the 1990s and span multiple states. He pleaded guilty in a felony domestic violence case in Colorado and was sentenced to two years probation. Records show supervision of Bradley's probation was transferred to Gainesville, Florida.

In 1998 he was arrested in Ohio and extradited to Colorado for violating his probation. He was also wanted by a Texas agency for an unknown charge.

In 1999 he had another probation violation complaint but he wasn't arrested. He returned to Colorado in 2003 and was eventually sentenced to a 3-year stretch in a halfway house and still, he violated the terms of that sentence. He apparently just walked out of the place and never returned. 

In 2005 Bradley was sentenced to a year in a Colorado prison and was released in 2007, according to the Department of Corrections. He was on parole until 2009.

Although authorities list Bradley as being from Clearwater, his fiancee spoke with the AP and said he has been staying in Louisville for several years.

Fox13 Tampa reports that Bradley was arrested for grand theft in Hillsborough County, FL, but the actual year the incident occurred or the charges are unknown.

The complaint filed Monday by federal prosecutors said Bradley called his fiancee, Darnisha Rose, who didn't answer. However, when he allegedly made the gruesome discovery in the back of his truck in the Walmart parking lot, he didn't call 911.

His fiancee defended Bradley, saying that he is a good man who would always try to help people in need. Rose said that when he called her from jail Sunday, he claimed he had no idea so many people were crammed in the trailer.

"He said he saw the people in there, laying everywhere," Rose said. "He said he didn't know what to do, which way to go. He was crying, distraught. He was scared. You could tell it in his voice."

Yes, getting collared for murder is very scary.

Rose said that Bradley has diabetes which he didn't properly treat and he ended up losing his leg. He got a prosthetic leg this month and wanted to get back to work.

But Rose said that when she was with Bradley for a brief time, he never told her how the illegal immigrants were loaded into his trailer without his knowledge, as he allegedly told the police.

The truck was registered to Pyle Transportation Inc. from Schaller, IA. The president of the company, Brian Pyle, explained that he sold the truck to someone in Mexico and that Bradley was supposed to deliver it to a drop-off point in Brownsville.

Pyle apologized profusely and said he was shocked over the incident.

In addition to the 10 dead, about 20 others who were rescued from the 18-wheeler were hospitalized in dire condition, many of whom are severely dehydrated and had heatstroke.

Mexico's foreign ministry released a statement Monday saying "according to preliminary information" 25 of those inside the rig were Mexican nationals.

Four of the dead and 21 of those hospitalized are Mexican. Some of the othes were from Guatemala.

Thomas Homan, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said "Even though they have the driver in custody, I can guarantee you there's going to be many more people we're looking for to prosecute."
