Democrat asked to lead group in Pledge of Allegiance but doesn't know the words

Covo: she knows LGBTQ but not the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag

A Florida Democrat whose campaign photo shows an American flag behind her, does not know the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag. This woman, Sabina Covo was supposed to be a trailblazer for her party last Thursday, but ended up being an ignoramus in American culture.

Every school child is taught, or at least used to be taught, the 31-word pledge [if you don't eliminate 'under G_d'], and if you are going to use the American flag as your backdrop and symbol of sorts, you might want to know the Pledge of Allegiance. But it isn't her fault--she's an America-hating Democrat who like her colleagues, only pretend to love the nation.

The event, which should have embarrassed her, occurred at the opening of the Miami-Dade County Commission meeting.

Covo a former "reporter" has a squeaker of an election in which she barely received a plurality of votes among the 13 candidates on Feb. 27 for an open commissioner seat in District 2. The rules state that the candidate with the most votes won, and there will be no runoff.

Covo will hold that seat for 8 months until the next regular election takes place in November.

Florida Politics reporter Jesse Scheckner noted, “Covo’s win marked the first Democratic victory in the Sunshine State under the new party leadership of Nikki Fried.” Meanwhile, the Democrats got their butts handed to them in the 2022 midterm elections.

In an embarrassing moment for Fried, other socialists, and Drag Queen Story Hour supporters, Covo did not know the country’s Pledge of Allegiance.

“Commissioner Covo, could you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, please,” someone asked her before the meeting began.

After some inaudible dialogue, someone said, “You don’t know it? OK.”

OK? It's OK that an elected official sworn to uphold the U.S.Constitution doesn't know the Pledge of Allegiance of the flag the Constitution represents? What are you gonna tell me next, that Abe Lincoln and Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. were Democrats?

Giving her shade, the entire room recited the pledge for her.

Is anyone really surprised a leftist doesn't know the Pledge of Allegiance? But this idiot can probably tell us about all 57 varieties of sexual identification.

What a disgrace.

Ilhan Omar's district eliminates allegiance to the republic: 'it may offend'

The following is satire based on fact.

A city in Rep[ulsive] Ilahn Omar's (D-MN) 5th Congressional District voted this month to stop pledging allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

If that's offensive to anyone, they probably shouldn't live in the freest nation on the planet and should return to where they feel most comfortable.

The allegiance pledge will now be banned during St. Louis Park City Council meetings.

The city council is also considering dropping the "St." in the St. Louis Park City Council as well, as it may also offend some people as it, of course, stands for "Saint" and that's just too Christian for their liking. So all saints are out and they are also seriously considering calling the city Mohammed Park City, to the absolute delight of Ilhan Omar.

It's unclear as to what or whom the city council will pledge their allegiance but they are considering colors for the flag and the one that seems the most attractive to them is black.

Annie Moribund al Shakira, a city council member, sponsored the unpatriotic change and has started a "GoFundMe--ScrewThem" page which has raised no money but spawned a lot of anger among Republicans, who are a minority in the town. They aren't allowed to speak in public nor attend public restaurants wearing MAGA hats or demonstrative tee-shirts advocating for the reelection of the "Orange Man." Other than that, they have full rights, as long as they don't use them in public.

"Not everyone who does business with the city or has a conversation is a citizen," al Shakira said. "They certainly don't need to come into city council chambers and pledge their allegiance to our infidel country in order to tell us what their input is about a sidewalk in front of their home."

City council member Mohamed bin Khamshapht bin Shaztmittfinklefuzz said, "I hope it’s not too controversial. Our community tends to be a very welcoming and increasingly diverse community, except for the lack of Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Christians and Buddhists, and we believe our citizens will try to understand why we hate pledging allegiance to a country instead of a caliphate. Yeah, give us a caliphate and we will give you a pledge like no other pledge before."

Earlier this year Fox News reported that, according to FBI statistics, Omar's district is the terrorist recruitment capitol of the United States.

Fox News reported that "more men and boys from a Somali American community in Minneapolis have joined – or attempted to join – a foreign terrorist organization over the last 12 years than any other jurisdiction in the country."

Minnesota Senate Republicans were shocked that they didn't see this coming, but that's often what happens when your head is stuck somewhere else.

Allahu akbar!

High School girl who refused to stand for the pledge of allegiance, settles out of court

Texas -- Between the 2016 and 2017 school year, Windfern High School student India Landry refused to stand for the pledge of allegiance. But Texas law requires that if a minor is going to exhibit such resistance, they must have permission from the parent. If not, they must stand for the pledge.

Landry continued to refuse standing for the pledge and as a result, she was expelled from the school. Principal Martha Strother ordered India to leave the school or else the law would be involved.

“I don’t think that the flag is what it says it’s for, for liberty and justice and all that. It’s not obviously what’s going on in America today,” Landry said.

She filed a lawsuit against the school district.

State Attorney General Ken Paxton intervened thusly:
“Schoolchildren cannot unilaterally refuse to participate in the pledge. Requiring the pledge to be recited at the start of every school day has the laudable result of fostering respect for our flag and a patriotic love of our country. The U.S. Supreme Court has repeatedly held that parents have a fundamental interest in guiding the education and upbringing of their children, which is a critical aspect of liberty guaranteed by the Constitution.”
Paxton’s court filing read as follows:
“The United States flag represents the values of liberty and justice that form the foundation of this country and are defended by our armed forces. It is thus deserving of the highest levels of reverence and respect, which is expressed through every recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.”
The school district made a failed attempt to have the case dismissed. India’s attorney wanted to go. all. the. way.

“If Cy-Fair wants to bury its head in the sand and say we will violate these people’s rights, then we will go to the court and we will go all the way to the Supreme Court if we have to.”

So why did she think the country was so crappy? She was awakened to the nation's crappiness by the NFL. As per the Houston Chronicle:

Landry told reporters in July that her opposition to the pledge was political, inspired by NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem to draw attention to a surge of police violence against African-Americans. [The fact is, there hasn't been a surge in police violence against blacks or any one group. Blacks, it turns out, are less likely to be victims of police shootings than whites.]

The lawsuit accuses the principal, vice principal, secretary and two teachers of violating Landry’s rights to free speech, equal protection and due process and of singling her out because she was black.

The first step, upon hearing something, should be to first find out if it’s true. Look at the evidence and facts. India didn’t do that and neither did the NFL players.

Fact: statistics don’t bear out Colin Kaepernick’s police violence position, and that's what makes him a crappy role model to young people He proceeded with ignorance, going on something he’d heard from his girlfriend perhaps, but did not verify it. The result is a chain of stupidity.

As it turned out for India, she and the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District have settled out of court. But her mother too should have known better and she along with India, should have done a little fact checking.

Parents fight school's dropping of Pledge of Allegiance

Atlanta, Not Soviet Georgia -- Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Principal Lara Zelski made the decision that students will no longer recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, in morning meeting agenda.

She told parents that this is "an effort to begin our day as a fully inclusive and connected community," which is a progressive talking point to make America a global society.

Falling in lockstep with anti-American ideology, the communist principal wrote: "Over the past couple of years it has become increasingly obvious that more and more of our community were choosing to not stand and/or recite the pledge," according to  the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The statement posted on the school website promised parents and students that they could recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America later in the day, if they felt like doing so, and promised to create a better pledge specifically for the school.

"Teachers and the K-5 leadership team will be working with students to create a school pledge that we can say together at morning meeting," Zelski wrote, adding that it "will focus on students' civic responsibility to their school family, community, country and our global society."

Perhaps it will go something like this:
"I pledge allegiance to the school of Principal Lara Zelski. And to the ideals for which it stands, one global nation, under the UN, with unity and trophies for all."
Liberalism, like socialism and communism is a mental disorder that has never worked in the long run.

"I'm really looking forward to what our students create," she wrote.

Parents of the students were incensed and gained attention of Georgia House Speaker David Ralston, gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp, and others who slammed Zelski's leftist decision.

"I'm sure our House Education Committee will examine whether taxpayer funds should be used to instill such a divisive ideology in our students," Ralston posted online, AJC reported.

In less than a day, school officials chickened out. Their anti-American stance didn't work and they reversed course.

Zelski's anti-American removal of the Pledge of Allegiance was wiped from the school's website and walked back with a statement by Lia Santos. The statement makes it sound as if the pledge would have been recited later in the day, but Zelski's words made it clear that students or teachers had a choice whether or not to recite it.

According to the AJC:
The state DOE policy demands that schools set a time for the pledge, each school day, at the beginning of the school day or during homeroom period. But students may not be compelled to recite the pledge, it adds.
Janice Crouse, author of "Children at Risk" and a conservative analyst said that the situation serves as an important lesson for parents.

"I think parents should take heart . . . in that the administration was forced to change their minds and go back to having the Pledge of Allegiance," she said. "And I think parents can learn from this that they do need to speak out, and they do need to know what's going on so that they can speak out."

What Obama Fails to Do for the USA

I solemnly swear my loyalty to the greatest nation on earth, and to the symbols that represent this nation.

I further promise that I will, to my death, defend this nation, whose government is elected by the people through a majority, and containing colonies, which form one nation standing unified and will never be divided; and having an ecumenical spiritual understanding of a supreme being that guides our laws.

I will defend this nation of which I speak, to preserve its freedom from external or foreign rule; its freedom from control, interference, obligation and providing its people the right of doing, thinking, speaking and the like, in accordance with the notion of personal choice.

In other words: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
