California College sued for anti-Semitic behavior re: Jewish prof's conversation on Israel-Hamas war

A Jewish professor, Karen Fiss, is suing the California College of the Arts (CCA) in San Francisco, alleging that her rights were violated when she was punished for disagreeing with students about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

According to court documents shared with The Algemeiner by the Deborah Project, a legal nonprofit that defends the civil rights of Jewish educators, Fiss's troubles started on October 23, 2023. She engaged in a discussion with members of the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) group who had set up an anti-Zionist/anti-Semitic display. They asked for her support in campaigning for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Fiss looked over their materials, which included a sign with the slogan "From the river to the sea," and asked questions about what it meant and what news sources they were using. This led to a student, offended and 'unsafe,' by Fiss's questioning, removing the sign suggesting the genocide of Israeli Jews, and arguing that reports of Hamas's actions on October 7, 2023, were false.

The situation escalated when one student, Maryiam Alwael, claimed that her understanding of the conflict was superior due to her Kuwaiti background. Fiss responded by asking if Alwael knew about Kuwait's expulsion of Palestinians in 1991. Fiss advocated for a more nuanced view of the conflict, suggesting not all Middle Easterners oppose Israel and many are against Hamas and its supporters like Iran.

Fiss advised the students to avoid echo chambers, but Alwael preferred her own low information views. Although the conversation was civil, the students claimed that she felt attacked and filed a complaint against Fiss, accusing her of harassment and discrimination, because when they jihadis aren't killing you, they are claiming victimhood.

With minimal due process, Fiss was deemed guilty and required to undergo "diversity, equity, and inclusion" training, which as anyone with a working brain knows, is bull pucks. The college's rationale was that Fiss, not the Jew-hating Islamist, was culturally insensitive and used her "power" as a professor to influence students' views.

However, when Fiss had previously complained about a statement from the Critical Ethnic Studies program that seemed to justify Hamas's violence, her concerns were hypocritically dismissed as free speech.

The Deborah Project claims CCA's policies favor left-wing anti-Zionism while punishing Jews who oppose it. They argue that Fiss has been severely discriminated against for not aligning with the college's ideological stance on Israel.

Lori Lowenthal Marcus, legal director of the Deborah Project, pointed out the irony that Fiss's expression of discomfort with support for Hamas's actions was overlooked as free speech, yet her own speech was labeled harassment.

Fiss is now fighting back against what she sees as an attack on her Jewish identity and her right to free speech, suing CCA for discrimination under Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and for breach of contract, claiming these actions have caused her significant harm.

Hamas praises Ireland's anti-Semitism

The Jew-hating terrorist group Hamas has welcomed Ireland’s decision to formally join South Africa's genocide case against the Jewish State at the oxymoronically named International Court of Justice (ICJ) and called on other countries to follow Ireland's lead.

“We urge all countries to intensify any pressure against the Israeli enemy to stop its brutal attacks on the Palestinian people,” Hamas said in a statement to Lebanon’s Al-Manar TV, according to Iranian state-run media.

The expression of support came after Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Micheal Martin said on Wednesday that he had received the government's approval to intervene in the case against Israel.

"By legally intervening in South Africa's case, Ireland will be asking the ICJ to broaden its interpretation of what constitutes the commission of genocide by a state," Ireland's Foreign Affairs Department said in a statement. "We are concerned that a very narrow interpretation of what constitutes genocide leads to a culture of impunity in which the protection of civilians is minimized."

The statement claimed that there has been "a collective punishment of the Palestinian people through the intent and impact of military actions of Israel," adding, "Ireland's view of the [Genocide Convention] is broader and prioritizes the protection of civilian life."

Martin said last month that the government intended to join South Africa's case at the ICJ before the end of the year. His comment came on the same day that the Irish parliament passed a non-binding motion saying that "genocide is being perpetrated before our eyes by Israel in Gaza."

Since December, South Africa has been pursuing its case at the ICJ, accusing Israel of committing "state-led genocide" in its defensive war against Hamas in Gaza.

In January, the ICJ ruled there was "plausibility" to South Africa's claims that Palestinians had a right to be protected from genocide. However, the top UN court did not make a determination on the merits of South Africa's allegations — which Israel and its allies have described as baseless and may take years to get through the judicial process. Israeli officials have strongly condemned the ICJ proceedings, noting that the Jewish state is targeting terrorists who use civilians as human shields in its military campaign.

Pro-Israel advocates welcomed the ICJ ruling because it did not impose a unilateral ceasefire in Gaza and called for the release of the hostages taken by Hamas last Oct. 7. Rather than declare that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza and order the Jewish state to stop its military campaign in the Palestinian enclave, the court issued a more general directive that Israel must make sure it prevents acts of genocide.

In late October, South Africa filed the bulk of the relevant material to support its allegations.

Ireland has been among Europe's fiercest critics of Israel since Oct. 7 of last year, when Hamas-led Palestinian terrorists invaded the Jewish state from neighboring Gaza. The terrorists murdered 1,200 people, wounded thousands more, and abducted over 250 hostages in their rampage, the deadliest single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Israel responded with an ongoing military campaign in Hamas-ruled Gaza aimed at freeing the hostages and dismantling the terrorist group's military and governing capabilities.

Last month, Ireland accepted the appointment of a full Palestinian ambassador for the first time, confirming that Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid would step up from her current position as Palestinian head of mission to Ireland.

In May, Ireland officially recognized a Palestinian state, prompting outrage in Israel, which described the move as a "reward for terrorism." According to The Irish Times, Ireland is due to have its presence in Ramallah in the West Bank upgraded from a representative office to a full embassy.

Israel's Ambassador in Dublin Dana Erlich said at the time of Ireland's recognition of "Palestine" that Ireland was "not an honest broker" in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

More recently, Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris in October called on the European Union to "review its trade relations" with Israel after the Israeli parliament passed legislation banning the activities in the country of UNRWA, the United Nations agency responsible for Palestinian refugees, because of its ties to Hamas.

Recent anti-Israel actions in Ireland came shortly after the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (Impact-se), an Israeli education watchdog group, released a new report revealing Irish school textbooks have been filled with negative stereotypes and distortions of Israel, Judaism, and Jewish history.

Antisemitism in Ireland has become "blatant and obvious" in the wake of Hamas's Oct. 7 onslaught, according to Alan Shatter, a former member of parliament who served in the Irish cabinet between 2011 and 2014 as Minister for Justice, Equality and Defense.

Shatter told media outlet The Algemeiner in an interview earlier this year that Ireland has "evolved into the most hostile state towards Israel in the entire EU."

Two months ago, an Irish official, Dublin City Councilor Punam Rane, claimed during a council meeting that Jews and Israel control the US economy, arguing that is why Washington, DC does not oppose Israel's war against Hamas.

Florida Imam/Dentist promotes anti-Semitic conspiracy theories: "Tyrannical Jews," now claims he wasn't calling for violence

A south Florida imam recently claimed that Israel is “worse than the Nazis” and has spewed anti-Semitic conspiracy nonsense. This close follower of Sura 5:64-65 in the Qur'an [Whomsoever God has cursed, and with whom He is wroth, and made some of them apes and swine, and worshippers of idols — they are worse situated, and have gone further astray from the right way] is now facing calls to suspend his dental license, causing him to look rather down in the mouth.

Dr. Fadi Kablawi, a raging anti-Semite who happen s to be a dentist from north Miami, made his despicable comments at a Friday sermon on April 26, as reported by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), which first flagged his remarks.

Beyond calling the world’s lone Jewish state “worse” than Nazi Germany, Kablawi touted conspiracy theories that Israeli aid organizations used the 2010 Haiti earthquake as a cover to harvest innocent Haitians’ organs.

Jew haters like to compare Jews to Nazis because it's the most painful comparison one can make against a group that attempted genocide against them. But it's ironic they make that comparison when, in fact, it was Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, who kissed up to Hitler and expressed support for Nazi Germany in order to exterminate the Jewish people. That is exactly what genocide is, and as sure as water is wet, it was the Muslims who were the Nazis then, and are the Nazis now, if you want to make a comparison.

The Hamas/Nazi sympathizer went on: “It is not enough that they [Israel] stole their land; now they steal their skin,” he said, suggesting that Israel is engaging in similar practices during its current war against the Hamas terror group in Gaza.

“Go and find who is behind organ trading in this country or this world. Go and ask them, those who know,” Kablawi urged his congregants. “All that is because there is no God for these people. All that is because these people look at you as nothing but a mistake, or at best, you were created for their service.”

Among his supplications at the end of his sermon, he pleaded, “Oh God, fall upon the tyrannical Jews,” and “fall upon the brothers of apes and pigs … Oh God cut off their seed.”

Now if that isn't calling for the death of Jews, nothing is.

The North Miami Islamic Center (or Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah), where this scumwafer serves as the sole imam, calls itself “one of the largest Islamic centers in the State of Florida.”

The Algemeiner reported on his anti-Semitic bile on Monday as part of a larger news story on Islamic preachers in the US "leveraging their positions in recent weeks to disseminate hateful messages about Israel and the Jewish people."

Coinciding with the report, Kablawi received backlash from state lawmakers and defended himself to a local media outlet.

“Suddenly they’re so offended that I’m making a prayer; this is how low it is,” Kablawi told NBC6, a local affiliate in south Florida. “It was a prayer — I was asking God to deal not with the Jews, to deal with the atrocities of the tyrannical Jews.”

The question remains, is a prayer of hatred calling for the end of Jews really a prayer or a battle cry?

Kablawi lied, using an Islamic ploy known as taqiyya, claiming his remarks were merely political.

“I wasn’t calling for violence. I wasn’t calling for anyone to harm anybody. I was making a pure prayer against tyrannical criminals who are killing my people,” he said taqiyya-ish.

Well, Islam happens to be a geopolitical religion in very large part and yes, I believe him when he says that his remarks were political. How does that excuse him?

The imam's remarks have sparked a significant backlash in the state. The Florida Legislative Jewish Caucus has asked the Florida Board of Dentistry to revoke his dental license, saying they are “concerned with Dr. Kablawi’s incendiary rhetoric and the potential danger it poses to his patients.” 

And this wasn't the first time Kablawi called for violence against Jews.

Former State Rep. Joe Geller, who is from Miami, lambasted Kablawi over his sermon.

“This alarming and hateful speech is unacceptable and frightening,” Geller said, according to local news outlets. “Calling for the annihilation of an ethnic group amounts to genocide. Patients deserve to be protected from this violent and dangerous individual. This cannot be tolerated in a civilized society.”

The Jewish Caucus began calling for action after Florida state Rep. Randy Fine — the only Jewish Republican in the Legislature — wrote a letter to the Florida Board of Dentistry, asking the body to suspend Kablawi’s license.

“North Miami where Dentist Kablawi practices contains many Jewish residents, none of whom could be considered safe in Imam Kablawi’s dentist chair, where he could personally implement what he is asking Allah to do,” Fine wrote to Jose Mellado, chair of the Board of Dentistry. “Practicing medicine in Florida is a privilege — not a right — and as the chairman of the House Health and Human Services Committee, I call on you to immediately suspend Dr. Kablawi’s license and commence a thorough investigation of his practice.”

Rashida Tlaib refuses to condemn "Death to America" chants: jihad comes to America

An angry, disgusting woman who hates America and the Jewish people

Repulsive Rashida Tlaib (Squad-MI) attended a rally in her district where Hamas supporters chanted "death to America" and of course, "death to Israel." In spite of her pledge to defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, the Democratic congresswoman refused to condemn the chanters and received bipartisan blow-back. 

At an “Al-Quds Day” rally in Dearborn, Michigan protesters chanted “death to America” and “death to Israel.” A speaker at the event even quoted Malcom X saying “We live in one of the rottenest countries that has ever existed on this earth.” 

Ironically, every moron who claims to believe this and chants this garbage has either come to the United States from a different country, or was born here and has no plans to go to a "better country," because there are no better countries than the USA.

The speaker continued, explaining that “The chant ‘death to Israel’ has become the most logical chant shouted across the world today.” It's especially 'logical' for hateful racists who now have a Nazi bandwagon to jump on. Many of these cretins are the same people who call conservatives 'white supremacists;' they obviously don't see themselves in the mirror.

Another speaker proclaimed “Israel is ISIS, they are Nazis, they are fascists, they are racists.” By making such ridiculous claims, they now believe they have the right to act in kind. If you call Israel genocidal, then it's okay to commit genocide against them.

Pro tip: Israel is not at all genocidal. If they were, Gaza would have been destroyed years ago and the IDF wouldn't take such care as to limit civilian casualties. Israel would not allow Arabs to participate in their Knesset and work in Israel if they were genocidal. But "shoe on other foot," there are no Jews in Gaza and if there were, they would be killed, like what the Gazan 'civilians' did to some of the hostages on Oct. 7.

Back to Dearborn.

The initial incident sparked condemnation from both sides of the political aisle. The mayor of Dearborn, Abdullah H. Hammoud, wrote on Twitter/X that, at the rally, people chanted “statements that were unacceptable and contrary to the heart of this city.

“We reject all inflammatory and violent statements made at the gathering. Dearborn is a city of proud Americans; the hateful rhetoric heard on Friday does not reflect the opinion of the members of this community,” he said. 

Even though he might not believe his words based on the history of the city, at least he vocalized them.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates told The Daily Caller that “The White House condemns these abhorrent and Antisemitic remarks in the strongest terms. As [US] President [Joe] Biden has said, America is the greatest nation on Earth and a beacon to the world.”

But Tlaib is a Democrat and the Party protects their own no matter how incendiary their words can be.

Tlaib was approached by a Fox News reporter on Wednesday, who asked if she condemned the chants. She replied, saying she did not speak to Fox News and that the reporter was engaging in Islamophobic tropes in asking her the question — likely because she perceived the reporter as questioning the patriotism and loyalty of Muslim Americans to the US.

Her logic is that if you ask a Muslim about anti-Israel and anti-American sentiments, you are Islamophobic, which simply translates to, "shut up."

The Republican Jewish Coalition’s national political director, Sam Markstein, had harsh words for Tlaib, telling The Algemeiner, a Jewish newspaper based in the United States, “It’s no surprise that Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib would refuse to condemn anti-America and anti-Israel chants.”

He described Rep. Tlaib as “a disgrace” who “should not be representing the people of Michigan’s 12th district in Congress.”

Maybe she ought to go back to her roots in Gaza and run for office there.

Markstein argued, “House Democratic leadership has coddled and enabled her vicious anti-Semitism and anti-Israel rhetoric for years – it’s long past time for them to hold her accountable.”

But rather than dealing with Tlaib for what she represents, the left goes after, you guessed it, Trump for anti-Semitic rhetoric, or what is interpreted as such, even though he has been the most Israel-friendly president in our time. This isn't about Trump; it's about Tlaib and other anti-Semites on the Left. It's time to vote them out.
