Gov. Hochul releases convicts from prisons after firings of officers during shortage

New York Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul fired thousands of correction officers after they went on strike over dangerous work conditions, and now, after she has created the shortage, she's releasing hundreds of convicts. In other words, she created the problem and now has created another one to handle the problem she created.

New York State Department of Corrections (DOCCS) Commissioner Daniel Martuscello released a memo on Monday, ordering prison superintendents to start figuring out which inmates qualify for early release, per new rules. Who are they to release: those who only killed one person? Those who have been convicted only four times of DUI? Domestic violence offenders? Politicians?

“In view of the current staffing crisis, and in order to have the appropriate balance between safety and well-being of those working and residing in DOCCS Correctional Facilities and public safety, it is appropriate that I, as Commissioner, exercise my authority pursuant to … move individuals from the Department’s general conferment facilities, into Residential Treatment outcount status,” the memo states.

Hochul, hoping to put a bandaid on an arterial bleed, approved the memo, with the governor’s spokesman Matt Janiszewski saying that her “top priority is the safety and well-being of all New Yorkers.” And if you believe that, you might think Jimmy Hoffa is buried below home plate in Yankee Stadium.

“The Governor is aware of Commissioner Martuscello’s memo and supports his efforts to safely address staffing shortages and personnel concerns,” Janiszewski added.

Hochul was criticized for the move, especially considering the debacle is her fault.

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) called Hochul’s decision to back the early release of some inmates “a dangerous misstep that puts all New Yorkers at risk.”

But decisions like Hochul's rarely if ever affect the politicians who make them.
“Albany Democrats’ pro-criminal policies, like the HALT Act, have crippled our prisons, leaving them understaffed and unsafe while crime surges in our communities,” Lawler’s statement said. “We need leaders who will tackle tough problems head-on, not resort to quick fixes that compromise the safety of law-abiding citizens. New Yorkers deserve better than policies that prioritize criminals over victims.”

“Kathy Hochul closed prisons and fired prison guards and now — citing overcrowding and insufficient staff — is releasing convicts from prison, just in time to buy favor with pro-criminal Democrats in the Assembly and Senate,” Rochester-based journalist and radio host Bob Lonsberry reacted. “What a funny coincidence.”

Any crimes committed by any of the releasees is on Hochul's empty head.

Some NY Counties Defy Dem Gov. Hochul after she fired corrections cops

If there is a rake lying around somewhere, Democratic NY Governor Kathy Hochul will step on it. This time, she’s managed to tick off several New York counties by trying to ban about 2,000 correctional officers she recently canned from ever working for the state again.

Talk about a power trip!

Hochul, a former "Miss Grinch" gave these officers the boot for daring to strike over the seriously dangerous conditions in New York’s understaffed prisons. Then, in a move that’s got everyone from county sheriffs to state senators crying foul, she signed an executive order the next day barring them from future jobs anywhere in the Empire State, even with county governments.

Smooth move, Grinch.

But the counties aren’t taking this lying down. Chemung, Oneida, and Rensselaer Counties are either thumbing their noses at the order or gearing up for a legal smackdown to take back control of their hiring. Chemung’s already slapped the state with a lawsuit, with Sheriff William Schrom saying, “We are taking this action to protect our ability to staff our jail with experienced personnel and to stand against unconstitutional overreach.”

Boom, lawyered!

Over in Oneida County, the Board of Legislators green-lit a resolution to sue the state, with County Executive Anthony Picente, not mincing words, called out Hochul’s order as “an abuse of the governor’s authority and discretion, and unlawfully intrudes upon the county’s powers of home rule.”

And then there’s Rensselaer County’s Steve McLaughlin, who’s not messing around. He’s vowed to defy the order outright, slamming it as “reprehensible and vicious.” On X, he posted, “Just when you think Hochul can’t get worse, she finds a way,” adding, “Preventing Corrections Officers from seeking employment with counties is reprehensible and vicious but that’s exactly who Kathy Hochul is.”

McLaughlin’s not stopping there, either. “Like I do with everything else regarding her idiotic statements and actions, I will ignore this as well,” he said. “I will hire as many as I can here in #RensselaerCounty and I dare you to sue me and the individual CO’s as they seek gainful employment Hochul.”

Someone get this man a mic—he’s dropping truth bombs left and right!

Let’s not forget why this whole mess started: Hochul fired these officers amid a prison system already bleeding staff, with 2,000 vacant spots before the strike even kicked off. Her brilliant solution? Call in the National Guard—untrained, mind you—to play prison guard, with no end in sight. They’ve been crashing on gym floors and leaking pics of their lousy setup.

Oh, and State Sen. Daniel Stec (R) points out these guardsmen are “activated on state orders,” so if they get hurt, they’re screwed out of VA care.

Hochul’s doubling down on dumb here, and the counties are fighting back. Grab the popcorn—this showdown’s just getting started! And leave the Bud Lite alone.

NY Dem. Gov. Kathy Hochul calls Nat'l Guard to deal with migrant invasion

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) said Monday that she is calling on the National Guard to help the state deal with the illegal migrant invasion despite her party doing nothing to seal the hemorrhaging at the southern border.

So Hochul announced that an additional 150 National Guard troops will be deployed to address the [Biden-created] crisis and assist with paperwork to to get these illegal migrants work permits so they can take jobs from legal American residents. This is especially the case for Venezuelans who now are considered a temporary protected group.

Perhaps Biden's handler[s] have a soft spot for people who come from a communist country.

The extra 150 troops now bring the total number of National Guardsmen on this mission to 2,200. They will focus solely on case management for Venezuelans who illegally came here prior to July 31, to apply for Temporary Protected Status and then work authorization.

Hochul said she's dedicated over $50 million of taxpayer money to support case management all over New York State. Just in New York City alone, officials say over 116,000 migrants have arrived from the southern border, but the city claims that it's a sanctuary city, but now that their bluff was called, maybe not so sanctuary anymore.

This latest situation comes as New York City officials say more than 116,000 migrants have arrived from the southern border since last year. That's a lot of free stuff and free housing for people who have put nothing into the system.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has said the migrant crisis will "destroy" the Big Apple if they do not receive more federal support.

Yeah, those chickens really are coming home to roost.

NY Democratic Lt. Gov. arrested in campaign donation scheme

Democrat Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin

New York Democratic Lt. Governor Brian Benjamin has been arrested Tuesday in a federal corruption investigation. The Democrat had only been in office in that role for seven months but it was ripe with questions and probes into a previous campaign.

The Democrat was charged with bribery, honest services wire fraud, and falsification of records.

Prior to being given the position of Lieutenant Governor, Benjamin was a Democratic state senator from Harlem and joined the unelected Gov. Kathy Hochul in September to fill her former job after she became New York's governor. She received the appointment when Democrat Andrew "Handy Andy" Cuomo was forced to resign due to ongoing inappropriate sexual activities. He did not resign for being responsible for the killing of thousands of elderly New Yorkers in nursing homes due to his stupid Covid policy of filling nursing homes with Covid patients because he was never held responsible.

Two months after Cuomo resigned and Benjamin had joined the Hochul administration, a real estate developer, Gerald Migdol, a real estate developer and lawyer who pushed campaign contributions toward Benjamin's failed bid for NY City comptroller was indicted.

Migdol was accused of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and aggravated identity theft in illegally handing over donations to Benjamin's campaign.

In an indictment unsealed Tuesday, Benjamin was accused of participating in a scheme to obtain campaign contributions from a real estate developer in exchange for Benjamin’s agreement to use his influence as a state senator to get a $50,000 grant of state funds for a nonprofit organization the developer controlled, a scheme that operated from 2019 to 2021.

The indictment said Benjamin and others acting at his direction or on his behalf also engaged in a series of lies and deceptions to cover up the scheme.

That's a bad thing.

They falsified campaign donor forms, misled municipal regulators and provided false information in vetting forms Benjamin submitted while he was being considered to be appointed as lieutenant governor, the indictment read.

No former accusations was made by prosecutors against Benjamin. His campaign said of Migdol's arrest that it had forfeited any improper donations as soon as they were discovered. It was his hope that this would keep his sorry butt out of prison.

However, more recently, reports emerged saying that subpoenas had been issued to Benjamin regarding the financial issues even before Hochul picked him as lieutenant governor, showing us just how much Hochul has on the ball having never fully vetted him or lying.

Despite her claiming she didn’t know of the subpoenas at the time, Hochul proclaimed her support for Benjamin, and he said that he told state police of the subpoenas as they went though the process of vetting him.

“I have utmost confidence in my lieutenant governor,” Hochul said during a Thursday press conference. “This is an independent investigation related to other people and he’s fully cooperating. He is my running mate.”

There goes our confidence in Hochul. But hey, nobody elected her governor in the first place--she inherited the job from a Democratic sex predator.

“In her first major decision as governor, Kathy Hochul chose a dirty politician to serve as her partner in government and running mate. Brian Benjamin’s shady dealings and corruption were well-documented, but Hochul turned a blind eye and put him a heartbeat away from the governorship,” state Republican chairman Nick Langworthy said in a prepared statement, at the risk of being called a racist for having said something negative about a black person, even though it's true in this case.

Benjamin was New York State's second Black lieutenant governor. During his state Legislature career, the Democrat emphasized criminal justice reform [seriously] and affordable housing. His district included most of central Harlem, where he was born and raised by Caribbean immigrant parents.

It is unclear as to whether his prison, if convicted, serves jerk chicken.

Irony Alert: Handy Andy Cuomo filing professional misconduct complaint against NY AG Letitia James

Former disgraced senior-killer Democratic Governor of New York and older brother of the Andy and Fredo Comedy Team, Andrew Cuomo, plans to file a complaint about, wait for it . . . a professional misconduct complaint against New York Attorney General Letitia James, another likely hopeful for the governorship of the Empire State.

James you may recall, has made it very clear that she wants to find legal dirt on President Trump, which actually lends credence to Cuomo's claim, but it's doubtful that this would come up in court.

The disgraced ex-governor's attorney, Rita Glavin, accused AG James's office of "selectively" redacting information in the bombshell sexual harassment report that led to Cuomo's resignation last year from office. She is also accused of including "materially misleading information" in the report, and "slow rolling" the release of the underlying interview depositions after announcing its findings.

Glavin said James' office has not taken Cuomo's criticisms of the report seriously. At least it seems so on the surface.

"What she [James] has done and all she has done is she has publicly dismissed our complaints," Glavin said.

Maybe Trump needs to also jump on the anti-James bandwagon, but then he would be perceived as uniting with a scumcrumpet Cuomo.

"(Cuomo) feels strongly that there was misconduct here, that the attorney general misused her office," Glavin said Thursday when she announced the complaint. She will be filing the grievance to an Attorney Grievance Committee. Glavin said it's not yet clear if Cuomo will only file the complaint against James, or if he will also name investigators who worked on the report. She did not commit to making the complaint public.

Well, that's politics for you--we have James who may have done a smear job on Cuomo just to gain personal political power for herself. And maybe she went after Trump [thus far unsuccessfully] to earn brownie points with the Democratic Party. In any case, you can clearly see all the agendas at play.

The big question is whether Andrew Cuomo has another political agenda, and whatever happened to that Q-Tip wielded by Fredo?

Fredo's gov bro begs citizens to come back to New York City

Can you find the Left's trigger in this photo?

New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, brother of Chris "Fredo" Cuomo, did not rid New York City of snakes like Saint Patrick did of snakes in Ireland, but he did do a lot to cut down the senior population over the pandemic period.

Now he's trying to get residents who fled the city for greener pastures and less death by coronavirus and shootings, to come back to where the action is. He told people in a virtual conference call for the Association for the Better New York that the city needs them--especially those who completed remote work outside the Big Apple--and pleaded with them to please return and take the gamble.

Remember, most people don't get shot, stabbed, beaten, carjacked, robbed, pushed on subway tracks by one of the thousands of homeless schizophrenics living out on the streets, or contract COVID-19 if they're careful. So, like the BLM and antifa riots, the city is mostly peaceful. And if you don't believe that, just ask Fredo or Don Lemon.

“Remember, we have to get people back and we have to get people back in volume,” Cuomo said through his massive nostrils." [H/T Fox News]

“If you were to see a 15% decline of people coming back to New York City, that would have a devastating impact on the commercial market.”

“We need people coming back,” he nearly sobbed. “Say to your workforce, ‘By Labor Day, everyone is back in the office.’” [If not, he knows people who will come and get you.]

“We need that volume to support the restaurants and the shops, the services,” Cuomo honked. “It’s not just about your business. It’s about all the spinoff effect economic activity that your workers bring to the surrounding community.”

Some of the most stringent COVID-19 lockdown measures in the country happened in New York State, and more particularly, New York City, where their communist Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-of course) has done more to chase people away than a colony of rabid skunks at the ready. Thus, New York is now the lowest-ranked state in post-recession economic recovery.

Currently, New York is operating at 81% of its pre-recession strength, according to the Back-to-Normal Index. Other states with poor recoveries are Illinois (82%), California and Oregon (87% each), and New Mexico (86%).

And it isn't Trump's fault.

NY Dems slammed for campaign mailer implying Cynthia Nixon is anti-Semitic

The New York State Democratic Committee is catching hell from every direction for sending out campaign propaganda implying that gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon is anti-Semitic.

She was married to a Jewish man, Dann Mozes, before she came to know that men don't do it for her. Her two oldest children have strong Jewish ties and Nixon herself is an active member of Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, a LGBTQ synagogue in Manhattan.

Of course, that doesn't necessarily prove she isn't anti-Semitic, but there is no evidence she is, and there is evidence that she has no problems with her two Jewish children.

It's becoming increasingly clearer that the left has nothing of substance to run on, even against members of their own party. So they go to their one staple: identity politics.

The propaganda mailer they promulgated read, in part:
"With anti-Semitism and bigotry on the rise, we can't take a chance with inexperienced Cynthia Nixon."
It went on to claim that Nixon is against funding of yeshivas and also lied about her being "silent on the rise of anti-Semitism" and supporting the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

It's one thing to have a history of strong support of Israel, as Andrew Cuomo [Nixon's competition], but to lie about something by making false anti-Semitic claims about someone, is not only wrong, it's the Democratic way of campaigning.

I despise Nixon's political views--I find socialism immoral and repugnant, but the Democrats keep showing their dirty side and voters in New York still vote along party line.

Cuomo denies any knowledge of the mailer and we all know that this is simply the other lie--the one coming after the lie about Nixon. Of course he is going to deny it because of the blowback the mailer received.

NY Gov. Cuomo requires insurance companies to cover contraception

In a move that would make Karl Marx proud but not bathe, NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Saturday that he'd require health insurance companies to cover "medically necessary abortions," which is such a vague term that it virtually translates to all abortions if the woman who wants to kill her baby feels that allowing the baby to live would cause her psychological problems.

It would also cover most forms of contraception at a cost only to the taxpayer, even if he or she isn't the one having sex with the woman.

This is a huge step from what it was like in the dark ages when individuals were responsible for themselves and didn't have to rely on strangers to pay for their condoms and birth control pills.

It's called socialism or communism, depending upon a few minor dynamics.

Cuomo's announcement comes the same day that over a million people around the world, but not in Islamic countries, took to the streets to protest Donald Trump's existence.

The 'Women's March' attracted unattractive protesters, for the most part, some of whom shouted vulgarities at random people not marching, and holding unimaginative signs, some of which were also vulgar, and Madonna, who was quite vulgar and washed up on the shores of irrelevancy.

In Trump-like fashion, Cuomo took to Twitter to tweet about his herculean effort to "firmly secure access to reproductive health services in New York State." Because people love stuff that people other than themselves, pay for.

This was just his way of protecting coverage under Obamacare, or the oxymoron Affordable Care Act.

There would be a mandate that health insurers in New York provide at least one form of FDA-approved contraception exceeding a month's supply at a time. They would also get abortions without paying a penny of their own money.

Health insurers would pay steep fines if they violate these laws simply to keep from going out of business.

Like senators, House representatives,  governors are exempt from Obamacare (aka Affordable Care Act) and they are also not often affected personally by the laws they impose on the public.

This may be another reason why Trump won.

FBI evidently confronted Eric "Boom Boom" Swalwell over the weekend and hoo boy

It has been a rough stretch for former Rep. Eric "Boom Boom" Swalwell . You know, the guy who's known for the fart heard round...
