House passes Laken Riley Act again: 159 leftist Democrats oppose it

On Tuesday, the Republican-led House of Representatives passed the "Laken Riley Act" once again, legislation that mandates federal officials to arrest undocumented immigrants charged with theft in the United States. While that should be a 'no-brainer,' some on the left don't agree with the bill.

The bill garnered support from forty-eight Democrats and 216 Republicans, securing its approval in the House. It had previously passed in March of the previous year, but this session saw 159 Democrats voting against it, down from 170 in the prior vote.

These dissenting votes, according to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), demonstrated that some Democrats "ignored" the public's demand for "secure borders, the deportation of violent illegal aliens, and laws that put the safety and security of the American people first."

This act is named in honor of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student from Georgia who was brutally killed last year. The convicted scumcrumpet, Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old undocumented immigrant from Venezuela, was sentenced to life imprisonment for her murder.

The legislation would compel the Secretary of Homeland Security to detain undocumented immigrants charged with theft within the U.S. and also grants states the authority to sue federal officials for "injunctive relief" should immigration policies or actions adversely affect their citizens.

During the debate, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) criticized the bill, stating that it was an attempt by lawmakers to "score cheap political points off of a tragic death" and that it "unfairly sweeps up many more innocent lives with no due process."

Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA), who reintroduced the bill for the current session of Congress, highlighted in a press release that the Laken Riley Act "directly addresses one of the federal policy failures" linked to Riley's murder. According to Collins, "Ibarra is an illegal alien who had been previously cited for shoplifting by the Athens Police Department. If local law enforcement had called ICE, and ICE issued a detainer and picked him up, Laken would be alive."

Although the Senate, under Democratic control, did not previously vote on the Laken Riley Act, with the shift to Republican control, a Senate version of the bill has been reintroduced. Notably, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has co-sponsored this effort, commenting, "Laken Riley’s story is a tragic reminder of what’s at stake when our systems fail to protect people. No family should have to endure the pain of losing a loved one to preventable violence."

BREAKING: The verdict for Laken Riley's killer is in

On February 22, 2024, an Augusta University nursing student named Laken Riley, 22, was brutally murdered while jogging at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Her body was found in Oconee Forest Park.

José Antonio Ibarra, 26, an illegal alien was arrested for the murder and his trial ended today, Wednesday. Laken's friends and family spoke and even this writer had tears in my eyes. This was a bench trial, meaning that there was no jury but the judge will decide on the guilt or innocence of the defendant.

The verdict is in and here is what the judge ruled:

Count 1, 2, 3 and 4: Malice Murder--GUILTY
Count 5. Kidnapping with Bodily Injury--GUILTY
Count 6. Aggravated Assault with Intent to Rape--GUILTY
Count 7. Aggravated Battery--GUILTY
Count 8. Obstruction or Hindering a 991 Call--GUILTY
Count 9. Tampering with Evidence--GUILTY
Count 10. Peeping Tom--GUILTY

Blank expression on Jose Ibarra's face as the verdict was recited by Judge H. Patrick Haggard. And as Laken's mother spoke about Ibarra through the tears only a parent can feel over the murder of their child, this POS had no expression on his face. He even refused to wear his headset to translate her words into Spanish.

The face of evil

It seems unfortunate to me that this murderer will probably get to live the remainder of his miserable life, albeit in incarcerated, and Laken does not. Watching the reaction of Laken's mother is too reminiscent of when I learned my own son was murdered. I wish the death penalty was not off the table but it is in this case.

Here is the sentence Judge Haggard imposed:

LIFE WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE

Guess how many criminal illegal aliens have been released into our cities and towns

I'll get right to it [unlike some writers who tell you the history of legal immigration, illegal immigration, the history of the country illegal immigrants migrate into, and on and on]. The number is 22,000--you can stop reading now if you choose to because I won't trick you into reading this to the end if you have better things to do.

Yes, since "Mumbles" took office, sanctuary jurisdictions have illegally released 22,000 miscreant illegal aliens that ICE was trying to deport back into cities and towns where they could, and often did, victimize American citizens. Laken Riley immediately comes to mind as her illegal alien alleged killer is on trial as I write this.

President-elect Donald Trump has promised "Operation Aurora," which was announced at his rally in Aurora, Colorado where crime perpetrated by illegal alien gangs has run rampant. He said the program will mark "Liberation Day" for America as it will "expedite the removal of this savage gang," and he highlighted the tragic deaths of young citizens at the hands of these criminals.

The operation promises to arrest and deport criminal aliens

Trump's promise to deal with these scumcrumpets won the votes of many who were sick and tired of what the present administration has allowed to happen here.

Jessica M. Vaughan is recognized as the Director of Policy Studies at the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), a think tank based in Washington, D.C. She has been with the center since 1992 and knows a thing or two about the problem with illegal immigration.

Throughout her career, Vaughan has focused on immigration policy and operations and is considered an expert in areas like visa programs, immigration benefits, and intersection of immigration along with public safety.

Her career has been significantly focused on immigration policy and operations, with expertise in areas like visa programs, immigration benefits, and the intersection of immigration with public safety. Here are some key points about her.

Vaughan explained the ICE data for the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), noting that, in 2015, an ICE report found that 23% or almost one-fourth of all criminal illegal aliens released by sanctuary jurisdictions were later arrested again for committing new crimes within eight months of their release from custody.

Vaughan wrote for CIS:
Since January 2021, sanctuary jurisdictions have released more than 22,000 jailed criminal aliens that ICE was seeking to take into custody for removal, according to ICE records on declined detainers provided to Congress.

The number has grown each year, and represents 6 to 7 percent of ICE detainers issued in those years. Each declined detainer represents a deportable criminal alien who was released back into the community and given the opportunity to prey on more victims. The number reported by ICE include detainers declined by the law enforcement agency with custody of the alien, cases in which the local law enforcement agency provided insufficient notice to ICE to arrive before the alien’s release, and early releases of aliens despite a detainer.
Remember, these were criminal illegal aliens ICE was seeking to take into custody while Democrat sanctuary jurisdictions willfully and knowingly defied ICE and released these dangerous criminals into American communities, fully aware that some of them would commit crimes again.

Last month, Trump vowed to deal with the illegal alien crime wave. “In honor of Jocelyn Nungaray, Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and all of the others that are dead and mortally wounded at the hands of migrants who should never have been allowed into our Country, I am announcing today that upon taking office, we will have an OPERATION AURORA at the Federal Level,” Trump said. “To expedite removals of this savage gang, I will invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to target and dismantle every migrant criminal network operating on American Soil.”

President-elect Trump has picked former ICE Director Tom Homan as border czar. Homan issued a clear warning to pro-open borders Democrat governors: “If they're not willing to help, then get the hell out of the way because [Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)] is going to do their job.”

We've waited long enough, four years of leftist nonsense [and I mean nonsense in the true meaning of the word] that has allowed the assault on our borders and the American public to be under assault. Those sanctuary jurisdictions that have allowed this to take place are run by politicians whose "virtue signaling" is never affected by their hair-brained policies.

Now you know the big reason Trump won, and I thank you for reading all the way down here where the meek fear to tread.

Compromised News Network refuses to air ad faulting Biden for Laken Riley's murder during his SOTU

People who are being honest know and can see with their eyes that our alleged President is barely sentient. Yes, he stayed up past his bedtime and shouted an angry address to the nation, mumbling his words, cutting off the end of his sentences, but he finished his garbage speech and the left went berserk, happy that he stayed awake to the end and read most of the words on the teleprompter, written by a covert handler.

Conservatives decided to use Biden's SOTU address to make an ad. A nonprofit, Building America's Future (BAF), tried to run it on CNN but they refused. The ad faults Biden for the tragic murder of 22-year-old nursing student, Laken Riley, who was murdered by an illegal alien. The network said the ad didn't meet their incredibly high, impeccable standards, (just kidding, they have no standards).

"CNN and Joe Biden are in lockstep once again," Building America’s Future Advisor Phil Cox said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

"It is shameful that CNN is censoring the truth and trying to protect President Biden by refusing to air this ad. The American people understand that Biden’s open borders agenda is responsible for the death of Laken Riley," Cox continued. "Building America’s Future won't be deterred when it comes to the important work of informing the public on how we are all less safe in Joe Biden’s America."

Laken was killed allegedly by Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, as she was running around the University of Georgia campus in Athens, GA. Ibarra is a Venezuelan national living illegally in the United States.

The "Run" ad went viral on social media, and was aired on Fox News Channel and MSNBC. It begins with a narrator saying, "Laken Riley should have been able to go on a run, in broad daylight without being murdered by an illegal immigrant. But Joe Biden promised not to deport illegal immigrants."

The ad continues with clips of Biden saying that illegal immigrants "should not be the focus of deportation" and wouldn’t be "put in jail while waiting for their hearing" before the narrator  mentions Ibarra.

"So, when Jose Ibarra crossed into America illegally, he was not deported, he was not put in jail. Biden also supported sanctuary cities," the narrator said. "So, when Jose Ibarra was arrested in New York City for endangering a child, he was freed a second time. Ibarra went to Georgia, where he beat Laken Riley to death. How many more killers has Biden set free?"

A CNN spokesperson told the outlet that "the advertisement did not meet commercial clearance guidelines and policies," [because it demonizes Biden and not Donald Trump].

A CNN source said that "all ads that run on our air go through a review to ensure we are presenting factual and accurate information to our audience" and the Building America’s Future spot didn’t make the cut as originally submitted because of "claims that were unsubstantiated."

During the State of the Union address, Biden got her name wrong calling her Lincoln, instead of Laken, implying that he doesn't really care about what happened to her, or is just brain dead. Of course, two things can be true at once.

"Biden does not even KNOW my child’s name – it’s pathetic! If you are going to say her name (even when forced to do so) at least say the right name!" Laken’s mother, Allyson Phillips, wrote on Facebook in response after someone noted Biden called her "Lincoln" and said he was trying to "minimize" her murder by invoking his son Beau’s death from cancer.

Biden always uses his kids for his own gain. Even when it comes to being a bag man for him.

Joe Biden goes drug-free in PA and it showed

During his State of the Union speech, which lasted over an hour, President-esque Joe Biden may have blinked a total of 20 times or so. Although he mush-mouthed most of the words and trailed off his sentences with a sound, he was able to get through it without falling asleep, crapping his pants, tripping on something, or saying something racist. He was even able to stay up past his bedtime.

He was probably on drugs, maybe Adderall, but who knows. At least he was able to read the words that his handler put in the teleprompter without trailing off with his signature, "Anyway . . ."

Of course he called Laken Riley, a murdered victim of an illegal immigrant, "Lincoln Riley," but that's only because he isn't familiar with what happened and it's only one case out of thousands who have been killed due to Biden's policy of open borders.

However, in a follow up speech in Pennsylvania, it was obvious the drugs had worn off and Joe was back to being his old, very old self.

No, he didn't think Kamala Harris was the President or anything so clearly coming from the foggy area of his brain. Instead he asked the good people of the Keystone State to bring him back to Congress and more.

He bragged about how he grew the national debt. "We added more to the national debt than any president in his term in all of history!” Congrats, Joey. Learn what those sounds mean coming across your dentures.

Biden's SOTU was the most hateful, divisive, partisan speeches ever made in the SOTU. He sounded like an old man fired up about someone who let their dog do their business on his lawn. He didn't mention the border problems, crime, the October 7 atrocities, and he even got the month of the so called insurrection (which it wasn't) of January 6th wrong, saying "July 6th," because even on drugs, you can't get a good dementia sufferer down.

GA House passes bill that allows cops to arrest suspected illegal aliens

It took the death of a young nursing student at the hands of an illegal alien to pass a bill that requires police and sheriff's departments to help identify illegal aliens, arrest them, detain them and hold them for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to take them into custody.

The for House Bill 1105 was passed 97-74, showing us that there exists in the Georgia House of Representatives 74 leftists who don't really care about anything other than staying in office.

The vote came when police charged Jose Ibarra, an illegal alien from Venezuela, with the assault and brutal murder of Laken Riley, an honors student at a Georgia school for nursing.

Ibarra illegally entered the United States in 2022.

Laken attended Augusta University's Athens campus and had begun her college career at the University of Georgia. She was murdered last week while jogging on a popular trail on UGA's campus.

The bill sets new requirements for jail officials to check with ICE to see if people who don't appear to be American citizens are known to be in the United States illegally. This will enforce a law already in existence that requires sheriffs to check with ICE for anyone who does not appear to be an American citizen.

The bill moves to the Georgia Senate for debate.

"Fixing policy in the face of unspeakable tragedy is not politics," said Rep. Houston Gaines, an Athens Republican. "It’s doing the right thing to ensure something like this never occurs again."

Sheriffs deny that they aren't following current laws and checking with ICE. This bill charges sheriffs who do not check immigration status with a misdemeanor. It also denies state funding to jails and sheriffs that do not cooperate, and baby, money talks.

Responding to criticism that this is about politics, one Republican lawmaker said it is not about politics but about doing the right thing, and it's about time.

This sounds as though there was a lack of consistency by local law enforcement when it came to checking legal status when someone was taken into custody. Georgia is not a sanctuary state. Some cities, though, like Athens, have been acting as sanctuary cities due to Democrats in office and their virtue signaling supporters.

Georgia Democrats are against the bill and claim the it will cause long detentions and separate parents from their U.S.-born children, which is rare as a Haley's Comet siting.

They also say it produces distrust of police in immigrant communities, but it sure increases trust in American citizens.

"We want justice for what happened to Laken Riley. We don’t want violent people who are here legally or not legally to be on the streets," said Rep. Esther Panitch, a Sandy Springs Democrat who sees illegal aliens as future Democrats. "But this bill won’t do it. This bill won’t close our borders. It will not make us safer, and it will not make women safer."

Panitch has thankfully never lost a child to violence, I suspect, nor was ever robbed or raped by one. It might not be a rampant as some believe, but why should it happen at all with illegal aliens coming here when that's against the law. If someone is willing to break one law, why not more?

The bill would obviously increase efforts for public safety. It would take those who get arrested and found to be illegally in the country off the streets. And it gives local law enforcement a mandate to enforce state law, which would untie their hands as many of them want to do the right thing.

Georgia Latino lawmakers are at odds with each other. Democrat Rep. Pedro Marin, the longest-serving Latino member of the House, said this is fear mongering of foreigners. That's nonsense--it's actually following the law as spelled out in our Constitution.

But a Latino Republican, Rep. Rey Martinez, said that Republicans are only targeting criminals. "We’re not after the immigrants. We’re not. We’re not after them," Martinez said. "What we are after is these folks who commit crime. That’s what we’re after."

Just do your damn job, man.

ICE confirms GA student murder suspect here illegally and previously arrested in NYC

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) doesn't enforce immigration and is has been made as useful by this administration as the US Department of Education. On Sunday ICE confirmed that the scumbag a Venezuelan nationals charged in connection with the murder of Laken Riley, 22, had entered the U.S. illegally in 2022 and had been arrested prior to this incident in New York City, aka the "La Grande Manzana."

Miss Riley was a Georgia nursing student and did not know her alleged killer, Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26. Her body was found on the University of Georgia campus.

The illegal alien Ibarra, crossed into the U.S. near El Paso in September 2022 and was paroled into the U.S. due to Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas.

ICE confirmed the alleged murderer had encountered Customs and Border Protection [another oxymoron] on Sept. 8, 2022 after sneaking in from El Paso. He was then "paroled and released for further processing," because what could possibly go wrong?

At least he didn't take flying lessons.

ICE also confirmed that Ibarra had been arrested by the NYPD  a year later, on Sept. 14, 2023, and "charged with acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation."

And he was on parole! That means if he commits a crime while on parole, he must serve time in prison, but that didn't happen because the country has gone crazy with this demented administration.

When ICE learns that what it believes to be a removable illegal immigrant has been arrested on criminal charges, the agency will normally lodge a detainer – a request asking local law enforcement to keep the suspect in custody until they can be transferred to ICE and put into deportation proceedings.

In this case, however, ICE's statement says Ibarra was released before a detainer could be issued. NYC is also a "sanctuary city" which generally restricts law enforcement from complying with ICE detainers while complaining that they don't want any more migrants coming into the city.

In its statement, ICE said that its Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Atlanta "encountered Ibarra pursuant to his arrest by the University of Georgia Police Department and being charged with murder and other crimes. ERO Atlanta lodged a detainer."

Riley, an Augusta University nursing student, was found dead Thursday after previously attending UGA before entering a nursing program at Augusta's Athens campus, where she made the Dean's List.

Ibarra was charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another, authorities said on Friday.

Too little and too late for Laken Riley and her grieving family.

Ibarra appeared in court on Saturday morning, where Clarke County Magistrate Judge Donarell Green denied his bond "for today." Two translators were present. Ibarra nodded when spoken to.

Ibarra’s brother, Diego, was charged Friday with possessing a fraudulent green card and is being held in state custody. The federal arrest affidavit for Diego Ibarra says that in September 2023, Athens-Clarke County Police charged him with drunken driving and driving without a license. He was later arrested for shoplifting and later skipped court.
