Sun Sentinel calls FL a "crimson hellscape" after GOP kicks butt, then stealth edits

The day after Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) won a second term along with fellow GOPers kicking butt in their individual midterm elections, the left-wing paper known as the Sun Sentinel, vilified the state as a "crimson hellscape."

Then the cowards walked their condemnation back after realizing who reads Florida's most circulated rag.

"Nice knowing you, Florida," the Sun Sentinel editorial board wrote the day after the midterm elections.

"After Tuesday’s stunning election results, the state’s political transformation is now nearly complete, from deep purple battleground to crimson hellscape, an ideal launch pad for Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential aspirations," the newspaper said. Then they removed their collective heads and changed the word 'hellscape' with 'landscape' without explaining the change.

The Sun Sentinel has not responded to requests by Brain Flushings or other lesser publications for comment.

The editorial continued, "We now await a second-term agenda that may feature an open-carry gun law, tighter abortion restrictions, new strategies to suppress the vote and more charter flights for out-of-state migrants, presented with even more of the governor’s trademark hubris."

In other words, Gov. DeSantis' second term just might relax restrictions the Left has placed upon the Second Amendment ,while allowing more babies to avoid being killed, voters to vote only once per election, and send illegal aliens to sanctuary cities that claim to welcome them.

The outlet followed by reluctantly giving due credit to DeSantis for a "19-point blowout victory" that was "historic and nothing short of astounding." The governor "carried 62 of 67 counties," establishing "a sea of red reflecting an epic Democratic collapse" in Florida.

DeSantis beat the crap out of former Gov. Charlie Crist, earning 1.5 million more votes than his opponent. In 2018, DeSantis won by just 33,000 votes over illegal substance abuser Andrew Gillum.

Sen. Marco Rubio, (R-FL), also cruised to a double-digit win over Democratic challenger comrade Val Demings (she, her) on Tuesday.

The editors accused DeSantis of "racial gerrymandering" and warned that it would be "impossible for Democrats to slow down an extremist GOP agenda for the next couple of years."

That's because the GOP's 'extremist agenda' does not include genital mutilation of children and excludes teaching critical race theory in the schools. It also allows parents to be the parents of their child and not hand over that responsibility to educators.

The editorial board noted how the Florida GOP has not only kept their territory, but expanded it to historic levels. "For the first time since after the Civil War, not a single Democrat holds a statewide office," the board warned, saying Florida Democrats face an uphill battle to regain "relevance" in the state. [They also failed to mention who the slave owners were that the Republicans fought against in the Civil War.]

"After this midterm meltdown, Florida Democrats have dug themselves such a deep hole that it’s impossible to see a path to relevance," the board wrote before urging the party "not to point fingers or seek scapegoats," but instead develop "a long-term strategy to engage young people and Hispanics, register voters and recruit stronger candidates."

DeSantis' top campaign staffer Christina Pushaw posted a screenshot of the Sentinel's article on Twitter, highlighting the use of the phrase "crimson hellscape," before it was covertly changed.

She later taunted the newspaper with a picture of Florida's "beautiful map."

Florida State Board of Education member Ryan Petty tweeted, "Crimson hellscape. That’s a strange way to spell freedom."

Author and commentator Josh Steimle offered what appeared to be a sarcastic appraisal of the Sentinel's writing, "Seems objective and professional."

The Sun Sentinel has about as much professionalism and class as the brain trusts of "The View."

FL paper upset DeSantis barred liberal media from GOP summit: "Try crying about it"

The Republican Party of Florida's Sunshine Summit was held over the weekend to the gnashing of teeth and rending of clothing by the uninvited liberal [aka leftist] press;

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis gathered state Republicans for a conference and the liberal press was "crying" about not being invited and could not get their snarky rhetoric in about the event, featuring a "Victory Dinner" headlined by DeSantis on Saturday.

In a woeful article that was updated throughout the weekend but originally published on Thursday, the left-wing rag, Tallahassee Democrat complained, "[DeSantis's] party is prohibiting many reporters from covering its big election-year gathering in Hollywood," Florida.

The outlet noted that while this event had "traditionally has been open to the media," this year "many media outlets were not allowed into the event."

This may be due to the way the left covers Republicans. Perhaps DeSantis and colleagues have had enough with them.

DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw poked fun at outrage over the event strategically deciding its guests.

She tweeted, "It has come to my attention that some liberal media activists are mad because they aren't allowed into #SunshineSummit this weekend. My message to them is to try crying about it. Then go to kickboxing and have a margarita. And write the same hit piece you were gonna write anyway."

Pushaw's comments were a play on a quote from former White House press secretary Jen Psaki who
psaid earlier this year, "So, my advice to everyone out there who’s frustrated, sad, angry, pissed off: Feel those emotions, go to a kickboxing class, have a margarita, do whatever you need to do this weekend, and then wake up on Monday morning."

Pushaw added that many liberal journalists attend conservative events with a bad-faith mindset, intending to make the event's hosts and attendees look controversial to the public. "It’s such a vibe killer when you’re at a conservative event and it’s teeming with Daily Beast / VOX / Vice / Washington Post activists trying to stalk attendees and get content that they can edit, take out of context, & publish for their DNC overlords," she noted in a July 23 tweet.

So yeah, screw them. I believe in the First Amendment, but I also believe in the right to associate with whomever you choose. And the GOP has the right not to invite the left to their party. Screw them.

Pushaw criticized the media outlets repeatedly complaining about the event not inviting them, tweeting, "Liberal media in Florida doomed itself to irrelevance because these ‘journalists’ make every story about themselves & their delusions of persecution. People don’t want to read your hand-wringing."

That's putting it sweetly.

The Tallahassee Democrat noted, "Among national publications, the Wall Street Journal received media credentials but the Washington Post and New York Times did not."

"Barring most mainstream media organizations from the Summit is unusual," the newspaper said, especially with congressional primary debates to be held.

Boo freaking hoo, Democrats.

GOP Gov. Hogan didn't read FL Parental Rights Bill but attacks DeSantis about it

Politicians are increasingly showing us how ignorant they are about issues they discuss as "experts." This is true on both the left and the right and in this case, Gov. Larry Hogan (R-MD) is in the spotlight of stupidity.

Hogan [aka "Baldheaded Stooge"] attacked Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill, calling it "absurd." He said that it would never have passed in Maryland--evidently, he believes teachers should have the role of teaching 3rd graders and younger children about sexual issues.

"I didn't really actually see the details of the legislation, [meaning: the idiot didn't actually read the bill] but the whole thing seems like a crazy fight," Hogan said. "And now he wants to criticize Disney for expressing how they feel about that bill. I mean, they have every right to. We have a thing called freedom of speech. They can come out and say what they think."

Keep talking Larry. Moe and Curly can't save you and your governor days are hopefully numbered, you dolt.

Hogan displayed his abject ignorance regarding the contents of the bill during an appearance on the Communist News Network on Sunday. Just moments afterward, he admitted he wasn't familiar with the details of the legislation. BECAUSE HE DIDN'T READ THE BILL!

People voted for this clown. But then again, people also voted for PINO Joe Biden.

The bill, which was signed into law by Gov. DeSantis last month, bans schools prohibits schools from instructing children about gender identity or sexual orientation between kindergarten and third grade. Nowhere in the bill is the word "gay" used, although the Left has been calling it the "Don't Say Gay" bill because when you can use a straw man argument to lie, the Left jumps right on it.

In no way whatsoever does the bill ban the word "gay."

CNN hostess Dana Bash asked Hogan to respond to DeSantis' conflict with Disney regarding the bill after the company released a statement last week condemning the bill, and DeSantis has threatened to retaliate.

"I think the bill was kind of absurd and not something that would've happened in our state," Hogan said, not having read the bill and sounding like the girls of The View.

DeSantis' office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Hogan's ignorant criticism of something he did not read but was quick to attack. Why bother?

"Many of the tourists in Florida have visited us from states with mandates and restrictions, to enjoy the freedoms and sense of normalcy that Florida has become renowned for, under Gov, DeSantis‘ leadership," DeSantis' press secretary Christina Pushaw wrote last week. "Business is thriving here as well, because the governor has kept our state open, and our tax burden remains the lowest in the country."

"These are things that everyone can appreciate, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation," she added. "Therefore, we are not concerned about boycotts or other economic harm to Florida as a result of any legislation. But even if we were: no amount of money would convince Governor DeSantis to change his position. He will always stand for parental rights and protecting children."

Larry Hogan really is a Stooge and needs to be challenged in the primary by an actual conservative Republican.

Justice Sotomayor blasted for fake information over child Covid numbers

Loco or Liar?

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments for 3 hours and 40 minutes over a federal mandate that a cognitively impaired President wants to impose on private businesses with over 100 employees. Enforcement of the policies, which were announced in November, has been put on hold pending resolution in the high court.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor had things to say about the pandemic situation as well.

She falsely claimed that more than 100,000 children in the US are currently hospitalized from COVID-19, and many of them are on ventilators. It's unclear as to whether she is lying or uninformed, but her numbers are as actual as the Russian collusion hoax the Democrats and media had been telling the public when Trump was in office and has since been disproved.

Her statement came during the oral arguments regarding the Biden administration's mandate for employees of private businesses be either vaccinated or frequently tested. Sotomayor apparently just recited large numbers in her head because they had nothing to do with reality.

"We have hospitals that are almost at full capacity with people severely ill on ventilators. We have over 100,000 children, which we've never had before, in serious condition, many on ventilators," she falsely claimed.

Yes, there are more children hospitalized now than any point prior in this pandemic, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [which has become an oxymoron since they don't prevent nor control anything but our freedom]. The seven-day average of pediatric hospitalizations was around 3,700 last week, but as we know, younger people are at far less risk than older adults of severe outcomes from the coronavirus.

The Hudson Institute's Rebeccah Heinrichs wrote: "Inexcusable for a SCOTUS justice to peddle this fear mongering false info."

"It’s actually terrifying that a Supreme Court justice can be so misinformed. The emperor has no clothes," Ron DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw said.

"Fact-checkers. Hello?" Fox News contributor Joe Concha wrote in response to her made-up numbers.

OutKick's Clay Travis tweeted:  "Justice Sotomayor’s comment on 100,000 children in serious condition with covid is such a flagrantly untrue statement she should have to correct it after the argument. It’s embarrassing for the Supreme Court to allow that factual inaccuracy to occur in an oral argument."

Sotomayor was nominated by President Obama because she is a woman and a far-left Latina, and has been on the Supreme Court since 2009.
