BREAKING: Michael Avenatti gets 30 months in the slammer, cries like a baby in court

Former CNN hopeful for the U.S. presidency and a man who earned a special place in the heart of Brian Stelter, disgraced lawyer Michael Avenatti was sentenced to two and a half years in prison Thursday for trying to extort up to $25 million from China's shoe and clothing company known as Nike. The normal sentence for similar crimes is often up to 9 years, Avenatti will serve less than one third the time [if you do the math and you're not Joe Biden].

While addressing the court prior to sentencing, the tough guy lawyer cried like a lost child.

This case is only one of several the scumbag is currently having to deal with. Judge Paul Gardephe of the Southern District of New York ripped Avenatti a new one during the sentencing but still gave him a break on the time he will have to spend being careful not to drop the soap in the shower, if you know what I mean.

“Mr. Avenatti’s conduct was outrageous," the judge told the Washington Examiner. "He hijacked his client’s claims, and he used those claims to further his own agenda — which was to extort millions of dollars from Nike to enrich himself. Mr. Avenatti had become drunk on the power of his platform, or what he perceived the power of his platform to be. He had become someone who operated as if the laws and rules that apply to everyone else didn’t apply to him.”

U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman and the prosecution team wrote in the case filing: “The defendant, a prominent attorney and media personality with a large public following, betrayed his client and sought to enrich himself by weaponizing his public profile in an attempt to extort a publicly-traded company out of tens of millions of dollars. This was an egregious abuse of trust, and it warrants real and serious punishment.”

Avenatti’s defense team pleaded with the judge for leniency. They argued that Avenatti had faced enough public humiliation during the case already. In other words, if you get caught and are sufficiently embarrassed by what you did, that should settle it. Balderdash!

“Avenatti’s epic fall and public shaming has played out in front of the entire world. The Court may take judicial notice of this fact, as Avenatti’s cataclysmic fall has been well-documented. He is openly mocked by the former President of the United States and his preferred media outlets, to the glee of millions of the former President’s followers and supporters,” the attorneys wrote.

“He cannot go anywhere in public without inducing and subjecting himself to vitriolic comments and abuse. These circumstances alone would deter anyone in Avenatti’s shoes from engaging in similar conduct,” they said.

Fortunately for Avenatti, he will not be going anywhere in public for a while. He was found guilty of the extortion scheme in February. In spite of the notoriety of the case, Brian Stelter has not reported on his crestfallen feelings over the sentencing, but reliable sources who wish to remain anonymous say that Stelter has, like Avenatti, been seen crying.

But that is not the case with former President Donald J. Trump who lately appears to have a spring in his step.

Illegal alien convicted of murder in death of Mollie Tibbetts

In this Sept. 2016 file photo provided to OANN by Kim Calderwood, Mollie Tibbetts poses for a picture during homecoming festivities at BGM High School in her hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa.

The illegal alien, Cristhian Bahena Rivera, who murdered college student Mollie Tibbetts was found guilty by an Iowa jury on Friday after only 7 1/2 hours of deliberation.

The verdict came after the moron testified in his own defense earlier in the week. He tried to convince the jury that two unknown men forced him to follow and kidnap Ms. Tibbetts while she was jogging back in 2018.

Why would they need to enlist the help of a third person to grab her? Perhaps Rivera thought the jury was as stupid as he apparently is.

The illegal alien [who the legacy media referred to as a "farm worker"] alleged that one of the men killed Tibbetts and put her body in the trunk of his car before forcing him to drive to a corn field where he helped hide her body.

Think about it. If one of the two men killed her, why go along with Rivera to hide the body? Why not just leave him with the body and get the hell out of Dodge? Why not even kill Rivera too and steal his car to hide the body?

Rivera testified that he was afraid of the men and said they had told him they would harm his family, including his daughter, if he did not cooperate.

The murder conviction carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. However, Rivera’s defense team plans to appeal the decision, as is their right. If this crap weasel gets off, you can blame it on the Biden administration.

BREAKING: Fed. prosecutors recommend 'substantial term of imprisonment' for Michael Cohen

Federal prosecutors moments ago said in a court document that Michael Cohen "repeatedly used his power and influence for deceptive ends" and are recommending substantial prison time.

He will also be fined $500,000.

For those readers who may have just been told the Viet Nam War is over, Mr. Cohen was President Trump's personal lawyer and claimed that he would "take a bullet" for him. [President Trump is currently our president and beat a horrible woman named Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.]

But seriously, the U.S. Attorney General's Office for the Southern District of New York filed the memo that described "a pattern of deception" that Cohen perpetuated and led him to commit four federal crimes over several years.

The memo reads:

He was motivated to do so by personal greed, and repeatedly used his power and influence for deceptive ends. The crimes committed by Cohen were more serious than his submission allows and were marked by a pattern of deception that permeated his professional life (and was evidently hidden from the friends and family members who wrote on his behalf).”
He was motivated to do so by personal greed, and repeatedly used his power and influence for deceptive ends.
— The U.S. Attorney General’s Office for the Southern District of New York
Cohen pleaded guilty in November to making false statements to the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2017 about a plan to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. He pleaded guilty in August in a separate case that Mueller referred to prosecutors in the Southern District of New York because it fell outside the scope of his congressional mandate to probe possible Russia collusion.

Michael Cohen is in deep trouble.

Senate intelligence staffer who dated Times reporter pleads guilty to lying to FBI

Leaking with a smile
James A. Wolfe, a 58-year-old Democrat and former security director for the Senate Intelligence Committee has pleaded guilty to one count of providing a false statement to FBI agents who were looking into leaks of national security information that wound up in the hands of several reporters, including one reporter at The New York Times  Wolfe dated, the DoJ announced Monday.

Wolfe was in charge of maintaining all classified information coming from the executive branch to the Senate panel and served as the panel's security director for nearly 30 years.

"Did you make a false statement to the FBI?" D.C. district court judge Ketanji B. Jackson asked Wolfe, who was scheduled to appear for a routing status hearing before the announcement came from prosecutors that "substantial" negotiations had produced a guilty plea.

"I did, your honor," Wolfe replied.

It turns out he lied to the FBI in Dec. 2017 about contacts he had with 3 reporters, according to his statement of offense. He also allegedly lied about providing two reporters non-public information about committee matters. His one count plea absolves the other two counts and they will be dismissed.

President Trump said this summer that Wolfe's arrest "could be a terrific thing" and referred to him as a "very important leaker."

"I'm a big, big believer in freedom of the press," Trump told the press in his bigly big way he has. "But I'm also a believer in classified information. It has to remain classified."

Which is the reason they classify it.

But in a statement released after Wolfe pleaded guilty, his attorneys emphasized he had not been charged with leaking classified information.

Nobody is ever charged with leaking classified information or there would be nobody left to run the government.

"Jim has accepted responsibility for his actions and has chosen to resolve this matter now so that he and his family can move forward with their lives," [Barack Obama "Forward" style], the lawyers said in a statement. "We will have much more to say about the facts and Jim's distinguished record of nearly three decades of dedicated service to the Senate and the intelligence community [before screwing up] at his sentencing hearing."

Wolfe's sentencing is scheduled on December 20. The charge carries a maximum potential sentence of five years and a fine of $250,000, but he has connections in Washington and he'll probably only do six months.

Earlier in the year, The New York Times revealed that the feds had seized years' worth of email and phone records relating to one of its reporters, Ali Watkins. She had a three-year tryst  with Wolfe, the Times reported, adding that the records included a time before she joined the paper. She had previously worked for BuzzFeed, Politico and McClathcy.

Wolfe's affair with Watkins specifically didn't seem related to the charge he admitted to on Monday. He allegedly exchanged "tens of thousands of electronic communications with one reporter, including one that read, '"I've watched your career take off even before you ever had a career in journalism . . . I always tried to give you as much information that I could and to do the right thing with it so you could get that scoop before anyone else . . . "
