DHS Drops the Hammer: Mahmoud Khalil's Algerian Vacation Is About to Get Real

Last week, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals did what appellate courts occasionally remember to do: side with sanity and smack down a lower-court judge who thought he could play king of the immigration hill. The ruling was a clean win for the Trump administration in the long-running deportation saga of former Columbia University darling Mahmoud Khalil.

Khalil, the 30-year-old Syrian-born so-called Palestinian activist who's spent the better part of the last year lawyering his way out of consequences, got nabbed by ICE back in March. He cooled his heels in a Louisiana detention facility until June, when a New Jersey judge decided he was special and ordered him sprung.

Turns out, that judge was swinging way above his pay grade. The appeals court politely informed him that no, he didn't have the authority to issue such a ruling. Shocking, I know, but judges have been misjudging their absolute power since there had been laws on the books.

Now comes the fun part. A top Department of Homeland Security official spilled the beans to NewsNation's Katie Pavlich: Khalil's about to get rearrested and shipped off to beautiful, sunny Algeria.

Mahmoud Khalil, the Syrian-born activist the Trump administration has sought to deport over pro-Palestinian demonstrations he helped organize in New York, will be retaken into custody and sent to the North African country of Algeria, a top official with the Department of Homeland Security said Wednesday.

Khalil and his attorneys have spent months playing constitutional whack-a-mole with the White House's efforts to remove the green card holder, who is of Palestinian heritage, insisting it would violate the Constitution. An appellate court decision last week, however, was widely seen as a victory for the Trump administration.

"It looks like he'll go to Algeria. That's what the thought is right now," said Tricia McLaughlin, DHS assistant secretary for public affairs.

"It's a reminder for those who are in this country on a visa or on a green card. You are a guest in this country, act like it," McLaughlin said.

The Trump team has been saying since early last year that Khalil was providing support to Hamas and that he got creative with the truth on his residency paperwork. Khalil, never one to go quietly, has countersued the administration for $20 million, claiming false imprisonment and "malicious prosecution." Because nothing says "I'm being persecuted" like organizing campus chaos and then crying foul when the bill comes due.

Look, this isn't rocket science. You come here as a guest, whether on a visa or a green card, and decide the best use of your time is helping organize protests that cozy up to terrorist sympathizers and generally make life miserable for everyone else, don't be surprised when the door hits you in the butt on the way out. McLaughlin nailed it: act like a guest. Or don't.

But Algeria is waiting, and it doesn't do campus tents and chants.

Somali Refugee Resigns from Maine City Council After His Nonprofit Took $65,000 Meant for Mass Shooting Victims

Iman Osman was arraigned on felony gun charges ahead of his resignation.Well, that didn't take long.

The Somali refugee has stepped down from the Lewiston, Maine, City Council just days after being sworn in. The hasty exit came after reports showed his nonprofit pocketed $65,000 from the fund created to help victims of the October 2023 mass shooting that left 18 people dead in that central Maine city.

NewsNation, a conservative-leaning outlet, broke the story that Osman's outfit, the Lewiston Auburn Youth Network, was one of the recipients. Overall, about $1.9 million, roughly one third of the money raised, went to 29 nonprofits rather than directly to the victims. That list included nine immigrant focused groups and at least seven with Somali ties.

Victims and their families had been promised repeatedly that 100 percent of the donations would go straight to them, but that was a lie.

Jennifer Zanca, who survived the attack and was shot twice, said, "It didn’t really hit me and really upset me until I was in a position with a $93,000 hospital bill that I couldn’t cover."

Amy Sussman, whose nephew was killed in the shooting, added, "The survivors and family members were told that 100% of that fund was going to them. Meanwhile, money was being raised within that fund for nonprofits. They did not know that. They did not know about that part of the fund, most of them, until I told them a year later."

As the spotlight hit the nonprofit funding, more details emerged about Osman himself. He's under scrutiny over his residency. According to the Maine Wire, he listed 210 Blake Street as his address, a spot condemned after a federal raid in October 2024.

A NewsNation reporter checked it out and described it as a "condemned chicken restaurant." Sources said Osman was staying there around the time of the raid. He hasn't explained publicly where he lives now.

The Lewiston City Council voted 6-1 to bring in an independent investigator to check if Osman even qualified to serve, just before he bailed.

The same week, Osman pleaded not guilty in Lewiston District Court to one count of receiving stolen property and one count of theft by unauthorized taking of a gun. He was released on personal recognizance, with his next court date set for March 9.

Osman's attorney told NewsNation, "Mr. Osman resigned from the Lewiston City Council this morning. He is confident that he would have prevailed in the investigation, just as he did when these questions were raised to the city clerk before the election and to the School Committee."Another chapter in the ongoing saga of questionable decisions, diverted funds, and legal headaches in Lewiston.

The victims and their families deserved better. Plain and simple.

Alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO murderer restrained as he tries to shout to reporters

Luigi Mangione Restrained By Deputies
As He Shouts At Crowd Before Extradition Hearing

Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old social justice warrior charged in the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, was restrained by multiple law enforcement officers as he tried to speak to reporters on his way to his extradition hearing on Tuesday.

As Mangione was being escorted into the building for his extradition hearing at Blair County Courthouse in Pennsylvania, he shouted, “It’s completely [inaudible in the spirit of Joe Biden] and an insult to the intelligence of the American people.” NewsNation Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin reported that Mangione said, “It’s completely an injustice,” but it’s difficult to decipher the exact quote.

Mangione has been charged with second-degree murder after being arrested at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Monday. He is expected to be extradited to New York following his hearing. His charges include second-degree murder, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a forged instrument, and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to a law enforcement source cited by CNN, Mangione was found with a manifesto where he expressed his anger towards healthcare companies, particularly targeting "United." A senior law enforcement official told The New York Times that Mangione accuses UnitedHealthcare of favoring profits over patient care.

Mangione is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution, where he earned a degree in computer science. Post-graduation, he briefly worked as a head counselor at a pre-college program at Stanford University before relocating to Hawaii in 2022.

In Hawaii, he worked remotely and resided in a co-working and co-living space in Honolulu. His former roommate, R.J. Martin, told CNN that Mangione had a surfing accident that left him "in bed for about a week." Martin also mentioned that Mangione claimed to have a misaligned spine.

The suspect was in regular contact with his family and friends until about six months ago when communication ceased, according to The New York Times. It seems that none of Mangione’s relatives were aware of his location until he was arrested in Pennsylvania on Monday and charged with murder.

Cornel West accuses Israel, not Hamas, of "genocidal attack" on Gaza

Cornel West, a third party presidential candidate, appeared on NewsNation's “CUOMO" Tuesday. The avowed Communist condemned Israel for refusing to lay down and die when it bombed Gaza in retaliation to the brutal Oct. 7 attack that butchered 1,200 Israelis, wounded about 5,300 and took around 240 hostages, some of whom have been killed. But West likened Israel's response to genocide, when it was Hamas who proudly declared that this is their intention to do to the Jews.

But rather than seeing the events for what they are, West blamed the victims. Maybe the women and girls Hamas raped and mercilessly slaughtered were dressed provocatively and were asking for it.

“We’re living in a genocidal attack in real time, where nearly 7,000 children have been killed in less than 45 days, so all of the talk about X or Y is nothing but rationalizations of the proceeding, of the promoting of this kind of genocidal attack,” West said, refusing to take into account how Hamas uses children and others as human shields, and how the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) take great pains and risk the lives of their soldiers, at limiting civilian casualties.

It has also been shown that Hamas used the Al Shifa Hospital as a sort of headquarters, which they deny.

Using hospitals or religious places of worship is forbidden in the Geneva Convention but the terrorists obviously don't care. Anytime an enemy does this, the facility is no longer protected, but even so, Israel still did not level it to the ground. Instead, they went in, room-by-room, looking for the terrorists.

It was later seen on video that prior to the IDF's arrival, hostages were taken to Al Shifa and some of the Hamas terrorists were dressed as hospital staff--another breach of the 1949 Geneva Convention.

In addition, on Monday and Tuesday, Israel produced photos and videos showing weapons being stored inside the hospital, a tunnel shaft on the grounds outside and a blast door leading to a tunnel.

While West said Hamas was “wrong” for its attack on Israel, he argued “they were resisting” because of suffering.

Why doesn't West ask Israeli Arabs how they're "suffering." It turns out that they're better off than their Gaza counterparts, have more freedom, and are even represented in the Israeli Knesset.

“Palestinian children are not receiving any attention from the U.S. government, from the Israeli government,” West said.

That's because the Palestinian kids are too busy being human shields. And let's never forget that Palestinians are able to get medical care in Israeli hospitals, while the reverse is not true.

West is among those who have called on Israel to institute a cease-fire so that Hamas can get a breather, regroup, rearm and resupply so they can more effectively come up with a "final solution."

West is an anti-Semite clear and simple, and anti-Semites hate that the Jews aren't walking into the ovens anymore.

Never again is Now!

Fredo flops again and his staff fears the worst

Fredo Cuomo doing a John Fetterman imitation

Former disgraced Compromised News Network anchor Chris "Fredo" Cuomo is not doing well of late because he sucks at journalism, veracity and intelligence. Fredo was canned from CNN after it was discovered that he was running cover for his even more disgraced brother, senior citizen killer with Covid and former Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo.

But Fredo is attracted to video cameras like flies are to something else, and not long after his firing from CNN, he began a new career, albeit a less lucrative and prestigious one at NewsNation.

Not unlike CNN, Fredo's new gig debuted to laughable ratings, drawing less viewers (147,000) than a rush hour bus in Delhi. Fox News' Sean Hannity on a normal day, draws over 2,000,000 viewers for his show.

The New York Post reports that while Cuomo is circling the proverbial toilet bowl, he may be in a position of taking down everyone around him too. Rather than his audience growing, his numbers have spiraled down to an average nightly viewership of a mere 119,000.

Even when Cuomo landed an interview with Ye, aka Kanye West, he only drew 129,000 viewers.

“Cuomo is getting nasty about the ratings and he’s starting to blame everyone but himself,” a source told the Post. “He’s blaming the network, staff that he personally hired, his lead-in, the promo department and even the press department!”

But at least he didn't blame Trump this time, however, Fredo's temper tantrums are infecting the morale and employees are preparing for layoffs.

“Chris has zero patience,” another source said. “This isn’t going to end well.”

For its part, NewsNation has denied this damning report from the Post but remember, they hired Cuomo so they're probably lying.

“Your information is completely, totally, 100% inaccurate. But we are glad that The Post [has] taken such an interest in NewsNation’s success,” a NewsNation representative told the Post. “We have talked to numerous people in our newsroom and on Chris’ staff and they are all very happy with the growth we’re seeing.”

The growth has been diagnosed as malignant cancer often spread by gym rats.

Chris F. Cuomo announces his comeback, sans Q-Tip

Chris Fredo Cuomo is making a comeback to the boob tube announcing on Tuesday that he would be getting an anchor role on NewsNation, formerly known as WGN America.

Fredo, as he likes to be called, made the announcement on NewsNation's host Dan Abrams, a former ABC News colleague of Cuomo's. The program will start in the fall and run in his old Comedy News Network time slot, the New York Post reports.

“I’m going to come to NewsNation and I want to build something special here,” he said, noting that his new employer would be … somewhat less prestigious than his old one as it will not be pumped into airports to insult the intelligence of people with functional cortexes.

“I had decided that I can’t go back to what people see as ‘the big game,'” Fredo said. “I don’t think I can make a difference there. I think we need insurgent media. I think we need outlets that aren’t fringe and just trying to fill their pockets.”

Cuomo will make a difference. He will do what he did at CNN, where his interactions with his disgraced brother, former New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Don Lemon, a fake news festival of fun and chuckles.

Fredo got booted from CNN in December after a scandal broke about how he flushed any journalistic integrity he may have had remaining down the toilet. He did all he could to prop up his brother during the COVID pandemic in which the former governor sent thousands of elderly COVID positive patients to nursing homes where they infected the frail residents and led tot he death of thousands in the state.

And who can forget the giant Q-Tip prop Fredo used to poke brotherly fun at Andrew? They laughed it up while people were dying in droves? CNN allowed that garbage to go on for much too long, and it eventually took a boatload of scandals to bring them both down.

Dan Abrams, to his journalistic credit, confronted Fredo about the CNN termination--his claim that he “never made calls to the press” regarding a number of sexual harassment claims against Andrew. It was later proved that he did and lied about it  and Abrams said that Cuomo did contact the media about his brother’s situation.

“You said, ‘I never made calls to the press about my brother’s situation,'” Abrams revealed. “[But] you did make calls to the press about your brother’s situation.”

“But I think the distinction has a meaningful difference,” Fredo bull-shot back. “The concern would be not that I called you and said ‘What do you think’s going on here?’ It’s me calling you and saying ‘Hey tonight in your segment, I hope you remember that,'” he said.

CNN initially only suspended Cuomo over some texts he had regarding his brother's sexual harassment scandals, but they eventually fired him after he was accused of sexual misconduct by a "reliable source."

Cuomo is currently suing CNN for $125 million over breach of contract but if there is any justice in the world, he would lose.

But now he's no longer CNN's problem and frequent fliers will not have to tolerate his antics. It's a wonder NewsNation hired this charlatan in the first place.
