Greene stabs Trump's Israel diplomacy in the back with attempt to strip Israel of its defense budge

Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)

It is a curious spectacle when a nation’s leader strides forth to forge alliances, only to find one of his own lieutenants gleefully sawing at the foundations.

This week, while President Trump shook hands with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, cementing a partnership vital to the West’s moral and strategic interests, a member of his own Party was busily undermining that very bond. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, with the zeal of a convert to some obscure isolationist cult, declared her intent to gut military aid to Israel from the National Defense Authorization Act. Half a billion dollars, she announced on Steve Bannon’s "War Room," would be struck from the budget for a nation she insists on branding as “nuclear-armed Israel.”

The idea, it seems, is to leave the Jewish state, and thereby the Jews, defenseless against their sworn enemies.

"There are some parts of this NDAA that I cannot support, and that’s continued foreign aid and foreign funding, and it needs to come out," Fraulein Greene proclaimed, as if the defense of a democratic ally were some frivolous line item, akin to funding a community center’s yoga classes. "I’m entering amendments to strike 500 million more dollars for nuclear-armed Israel. And it’s important to say nuclear-armed Israel, because they do have nuclear weapons."

One wonders if she imagines Israel’s arsenal as some menacing prop in a geopolitical melodrama, rather than a sober deterrent against existential threats.

This is not a one-off tantrum. Greene’s record betrays a consistent animus toward supporting Israel. She voted against all three aid bills passed in the wake of Hamas’s barbaric October 7, 2023, assault, an attack that should have settled any debate about the necessity of standing by a nation besieged by terrorists. She also opposed legislation to ensure arms sales to Israel continued under the Biden administration, a presidency not exactly renowned for its steadfastness toward Jerusalem.

But Greene’s crusade extends beyond Israel, her sights set on slashing aid to other allies, including $500 million earmarked for Jordan, a nation that, she notes with indignation, already receives $1.6 billion annually from the State Department. "This is not a helpless country, and we already give them $3.4 billion every single year in the state — from the State Department. $3.4 billion every single year. They don’t need another $500 million in our defense budget," she huffed.

One might ask whether Greene has considered the strategic value of Jordan’s stability in a region perpetually teetering on the edge of chaos, or whether she simply delights in the act of budgetary sabotage.

The House’s consideration of the NDAA is, of course, a theater of amendments, most of which are swatted away by leadership to preserve the bill’s core. House Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republican stalwarts have rightly championed military aid to Israel as a cornerstone of national security. In April, they secured passage of the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, funneling $4 billion to replenish missile defense systems, $1.2 billion for Iron Beam defenses, and $3.5 billion for weapons procurement, measures that reflect a clear-eyed recognition of Israel’s role as a bulwark against tyranny.

Yet here stands Greene, a lone dissenter in her party’s ranks, wielding her amendments like a blunt axe. Her actions raise a question that cuts to the heart of the matter: does she truly believe that withdrawing support from allies strengthens America, or is this merely the politics of performative contrarianism?

Or do her past anti-Semitic statements show us who she really is?

Remember this--in 2018, Greene posted on Facebook about "Jewish space lasers" that she believed were the cause of California's wildfires. These lasers were alleged by her to be connected to the Rothschild banking family, just an old anti-Semitic trope.

Then there was the Holocaust comparisons in 2012 where Greene constantly compared COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates to the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust, including her equating vaccine logos to the yellow stars Jews had to wear in Nazi Germany.

Greene had also expressed support for QAnon, a conspiracy theory that has anti-Semitic elements, like claiming Jewish elites like George Soros, controls global affairs. Soros, of course, is a leftist creep, but it has nothing to do with him being Jewish. In fact, he's an atheist, so there's that little tidbit.

In 2018, Greene shared the video the "Great Replacement" theory. This alleges "Zionist supremacists" were the ones orchestrating nonwhite immigration to replace white population, another narrative tied to anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Also, she claimed Soros collaborated with Nazis, which is false, but of course reinforces disgusting stereotypes. [Did I mention that Soros is a scumwafer?]

Aside from Greene associating with overt anti-Semites like Nick Fuentes and hiring Milo Yiannopoulos as an intern, she also opposed the Antisemitism Awareness Act (2024) and voted against it. She cited a lame excuse that the act could "convict Christians of anti-Semitism" for believing the the Gospel account whereby "Jesus was handed over to Herod to be crucified by the Jews." This is a trope that has historically been used to justify anti-Semitic violence.

In a world where moral clarity is often clouded by expediency, her choices suggest a troubling indifference to the stakes. As the West faces enemies who do not pause to debate their own resolve, such gestures of isolationism are not merely misguided, they are reckless.

Columbia Law School dean resigns amid anti-Semitism scandals

Gillian Lester, the dean of Columbia Law School announced her resignation Wednesday, coming at a time when a number of anti-Semitic scandals have occurred during her tenure.

"I had originally intended to make this announcement in early October," she told the law school in an email, "but my plan was unexpectedly overtaken by current events." Being unable to take the heat in the events that have put the school on par with Nazi Germany, she will step down at the end of the academic year.

Columbia Law School has been accused of anti-Semitism after Israelis on Oct. 7 were savagely attacked, murdered, raped, tortured, burned, captured, and otherwise destroyed for the sin of being Jewish. Babies were beheaded, parents were killed in front of their children and children killed in front of their parents, and all that Lester initially said in describing what happened was that "violence [that] erupted in Israel and Gaza."

Violence didn't "erupt" in Gaza--it was a defensive retaliation to what Hamas and Gazans perpetrated on Israelis. It was a response to violence.

The law school's dean purposely never mentioned Hamas or anti-Semitism, and it rightfully sparked weeks of damage control at the ivy league law school, where pro-Palestinian students took over a campus building and disrupted classes in violation of school policy and the rights of non-protesters to learn.

For the school's part, they declined to stop the protests and refused to say whether the students would receive any punishment.

Columbia hasn't yet announced who Lester's replacement will be, but a source with ties to the school's administration said that David Schizer is a leading candidate. Schizer had previously served as dean from 2004 to 2014 and is a scholar of tax and energy law.

Schizer recently lead the school's task force on anti-Semitism and as dean, he helped tighten the bonds between the law school and Israel,  by opening a Center for Israeli Legal Studies in 2006 that brings prominent Israeli scholars to campus.

"Making him dean again will send a clear message to the anti-Semites," the source said. "He did the job very successfully before, everyone loved him, and there were no riots."

The law school has not commented on whether Schizer will get the appointment again.

Priebus: media obsessed with delegitimizing Trump

White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus defended his boss on Sunday saying that "there is an obsession by the media to delegitimize this president. We are not going to sit around and let it happen," he told "Fox News Sunday."

President Trump spoke to about 300 CIA staffers on Saturday and suggested to them that his well-publicized split with the U.S. intelligence agencies was created by the media. This then led to his free associating about the media and the size of his inauguration crowd which, he said, they lied about saying it was rather small.

Trump apparently has a problem with 'small.'

What had happened was that Trump didn't go along with the intelligence community's assessment that Russia influenced the 2016 presidential election to help him win.

He also said that someone within the intel community leaked an unofficial dossier with alleged personal information about him that was perversely sexual in nature, and that, he said, was like living in "Nazi Germany."

It was "one bad actor" that probably leaked the fake document so Trump wasn't angry at all of the country's intelligence officers, Priebus told Fox.

"I'm telling you; it was a love fest in there," he said, referring to Trump's CIA visit.

Media didn't report this
Priebus spoke about the claim that Trump removed the bust of Martin Luther King Jr. from the Oval Office. This turned out to be false and Priebus said about the inaccurate report: "It could have had explosive ramifications . . . It was shoot first, point later."

The so-called "reporter" later apologized.

The Chief of Staff also defended the White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer's comments about the media for under reporting the crowd size. A flash press conference was called and Spicer angrily accused the media of "false reporting" on the inauguration in a "shameful" attempt to minimize enthusiasm for Trump. And then he left without taking questions.

"The point is not the crowd," Priebus said. "The point is the media is trying to delegitimize the presidency."

The point is, Trump needs to focus on what's important  . . . or is it that crowd size is the new hand size?

What will Obama take from us next?

First it was the Obama administration trying to prevent US veterans from purchasing firearms, because the Veterans Affairs evaluations labeled veterans as "mentally defective." More than simply a disgusting insult, this information was put into the federal background data base.

Now the Orwellian (read Obama) administration wants to take away the Second Amendment rights of people who need help managing their Social Security benefits, for whatever reason they need help.

Next we might expect the Second Amendment rights of all members of the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy,"  as Hillary Clinton called conservatives, to be taken away. It isn't so outrageous to think so--history shows it has happened.

What is Obama's endgame?

In the 1938 German Weapons Act, which superseded the 1928 German weapons laws, many gun restrictions were relaxed in several areas.

Under this law, gun restriction only applied to handguns, not to long guns or ammunition.

The revisions allowed the purchase and transfer of rifles and shotguns and one could possess ammo with a permit. Even the legal age for purchasing firearms was lowered from 20 to 18, and gun permits were valid for 3 years, rather than 1 year.

Gun manufacturing required a permit, but Jews were no longer issued permits, and if a gun manufacturing company was even partly owned by a Jew, no permit was issued. In fact, any Jew caught in possession of a firearm or dealing in them was sentenced to 20 years in a concentration camp.

Sound familiar? Substitute "Conservative" for "Jew" and think about history.

In the United States, a majority of gun owners are conservatives. There are, of course, liberals and left-wing people in the entertainment industry and politics, for example, who own guns or have armed security ensuring their safety. They support the Second Amendment, but only when it applies to them.

We have a so-called president who is doing a gun-grab and slowly eroding our Constitution. We have a so-called president who is making deals with terrorists that are clearly bad and dangerous deals. He sees his legacy as more important than the security of our nation and of the world.

We have a Republican-dominated Congress that is allowing him to get away with this abuse of power. They complain but do nothing to curb his behavior.

"First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out--because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me." Martin Niemoller

Speak out.
