DOJ Prosecutor quits, refuses criminal investigation into $20B in climate spending

There is a curious storm brewing in Washington, and at its center stands Denise Cheung, until recently the head of the criminal division in the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office. She has stepped down, not with a whimper but with a resolute refusal to bend to the will of interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin. His order? To launch a criminal investigation and unleash the machinery of grand jury subpoenas. Cheung said no—and paid the price with her resignation.

The root of this clash appears to lie in EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin’s crusade to claw back $20 billion in green energy contracts—funds shoveled out under the grandiosely misnamed 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, dispensed in the twilight of the Biden administration. Zeldin, with the fervor of a man who sees waste as an affront to decency, has branded these contracts a scandal, alleging they are little more than "pass-through" schemes designed to siphon money to mysterious elsewhere. His aim is noble on its face: return the lucre to the U.S. Treasury. "Gold bars off the Titanic," he quipped on Fox News, a line that drips with both wit and disdain.

But Cheung, in her resignation letter, drew a line in the sand. She was willing to freeze the funds in a Citibank account—a practical move—but when Martin demanded escalation, likely into the realm of asset seizure and criminal probes, she demurred. The evidence, she argued, did not meet the threshold of probable cause. Martin, unamused, requested her departure, and she obliged.

This episode, like so many in our age, raises questions that cut to the marrow of governance and justice. First, the matter of legal thresholds: Cheung’s stand rests on her judgment that the evidence is too thin to warrant criminal action. One wonders what she saw—or didn’t see—in those contracts. Were they merely sloppy, rushed by a departing administration eager to cement its legacy, or was there something darker, something provably illicit, that she nonetheless deemed insufficient? Without the specifics, we are left to speculate, but her refusal suggests a prosecutor’s caution—perhaps even a flicker of integrity.

Then there is the political context, which looms large and unavoidable. Zeldin’s zeal fits neatly into a broader narrative: the dismantling of Biden-era excesses, particularly the climate spending that has long been a totem for progressive virtue. His rhetoric is that of a fiscal conservative with a populist edge, a man who sees $20 billion not as an investment but as a plunder. Is this pressure—political, theatrical, Trumpian—pushing the Department of Justice to overreach, to conjure a case where the evidence is more smoke than fire? Cheung’s exit might suggest as much.

And here we arrive at the institutional tension, the quiet war between the careerists and the appointees. Cheung, a seasoned prosecutor, pitted against Martin, an interim figure, and Zeldin, a Trump loyalist. Is her resignation a principled cry against the politicization of justice, a refusal to let the law be bent to the whims of a new regime? Or is it, less charitably, the stubbornness of a bureaucrat unwilling to adapt to a shifting tide? We cannot know—not yet—for the details remain frustratingly opaque. What were these contracts? What evidence did Cheung weigh and find wanting?

In the absence of clarity, we are left with competing visions. Zeldin’s camp might thunder that the contracts are a blatant misuse of taxpayer money, a green-tinted boondoggle crying out for justice. Cheung’s position whispers back: not so fast—the case isn’t there, not yet, not enough. What we witness, then, is less a resolution than a skirmish, the opening salvo in a grander struggle over Biden’s climate legacy and how this administration—brash, unapologetic—chooses to bury it.

As ever, the truth lies buried beneath the noise, and we are poorer for it.

PINO Biden imposes new methane emissions tax but his methane is exempt

Alleged President Joseph Biden's Environmental Protection Agency has finalized a rule Tuesday that taxes methane emissions from the oil and gas sector but not from Biden's own methane emissions.

This new tax comes from Biden's virtue signaling climate legislation laughingly known as the Inflation Reduction Act. It includes a Waste Emissions Charge provision, but while the emissions charge was mandated by Congress, the Biden administration had the discretion as to how far they could go to screw the American people with taxes.

The fee starts at $900 per metric ton of methane emitted over a specific performance level during 2024 and will increase in subsequent years. For example, by next year it will inflate to $1,200 per metric ton and by 2026 climb to $1,500 per metric ton. Every year after that it will also increase, as per the EPA, and one day perhaps reach a million billion  dollars, if Democrats have their way.

"The final Waste Emissions Charge is the latest in a series of actions under President Biden’s methane strategy to improve efficiency in the oil and gas sector, support American jobs, protect clean air, and reinforce U.S. leadership on the global stage," EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in a press release.

Prior to Tuesday's new methane emissions rule, Biden and his administration imposed other rules aimed at clamping down on methane such as corking cow butts and reducing gassy foods such as beans, cabbage and whatever else Biden tends to consume that brought this climate crisis to his active mind.

Shortly after taking office in 2021, Biden mindlessly signed a law repealing a Trump-era action that rescinded stricter methane-emissions standards imposed under then-President Barack Obama.

While climate change advocates, such as the Clean Air Task Force, have lauded Biden's rule regulating methane emissions, Steve Milloy, a fellow at the Energy and Environmental Legal Institute, described the action as "irrelevant," much like the mumblings made by the President himself.

Milloy said that because upwards of 95% or more of the greenhouse gasses trapped by the earth's atmosphere are water vapor and carbon dioxide, little to no room remains for methane to be stored. He also said new methane rules will probably be useless because it targets the oil and gas sector but not the agricultural sector where cow farts are a huge problem.

"The largest source of methane is actually microbes," Milloy pointed out — as opposed to man-made power plants. Microbes are tiny organisms that live in cow's stomachs, agricultural fields and wetlands, according to former newspaper, The Washington Post.

In addition to the effectiveness, Milloy pointed out that the tax will also be to the benefit of Big Oil companies, while hurting smaller ones such as Gov. Gavin Newsom's hair.

"It's because all these regulations cripple the competition," Milloy said. "Taxing the oil industry, you know, Big Oil is going to be all for that." See, it will put the small fries out of business while Big Oil can handle the taxes.

North Carolina Republican Rep. Greg Murphy, who was endorsed by Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions during his bid for re-election this year, echoed that going after the oil and gas industry with this latest tax will serve to "raise costs and prevent investment."

"Thankfully, this insanity will end in January," Murphy said, as President-elect Donald Trump said he would repeal many of the green energy balderdash initiatives made by the oxymoronic Inflation Reduction Act.

Kamala Harris puts last minute policies on her website: pass the salad dressing

Well the debate is here tonight and now the tire meets the road. Kamala Harris had been blowing smoke in our faces and elsewhere, but now she has finally put some "policies" on her website after hiding it from us for months. I use scare quotes for the word 'policies' because they don't tell us anything other than the fact that the woman running for President of the United States is a terrible candidate and a fraud who has failed to do show-and-tell as to what her positions are and has been "doing a Joe Biden" from the public.

So let's get on with her latest word salads posted on her website:
Vice President Harris will never hesitate to take whatever action is necessary to protect U.S. forces and interests from Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups. Vice President Harris will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself and she will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself. She and President Biden are working to end the war in Gaza, such that Israel is secure, the hostages are released, the suffering in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, security, freedom, and self-determination. She and President Biden are working around the clock to get a hostage deal and a ceasefire deal done.

From advising on tough decisions in the Oval Office and the Situation Room, to serving on the Senate Select Committee on the Intelligence, to going after transnational criminal organizations as California’s Attorney General, Vice President Harris brings extensive national security experience—and it’s no surprise more than 350 foreign policy and national security experts have endorsed her.
This brings to mind several questions.

First, what actions will she take to protect our forces and interests from [?] Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups? And furthermore, what are our 'interests' are we protecting 'from' Iran et al.?

Secondly, Israel's right to defend itself is a given. What does Harris specifically mean by standing up for its right to defend itself? That is, what does 'standing up' translate to be? How far will she go to that end?

Thirdly, what is she and President Biden doing to end the war in Gaza, and what is she and Biden doing to get the hostages released beyond saying they will? More importantly, why is she more concerned about the 'suffering' of the Palestinian people' than what Hamas has done to the Israeli people? It's a fact that the vast majority of the so called Palestinian people support Hamas and their "journey" to annihilate Israel and the Jews. And c'mon now; does she really think we believe that she and Biden are "working around the clock to get a hostage deal?

Fourth and lastly, how is the fact that she was last person in the room with Biden when they decided to pull our troops out of Afghanistan the way they did, a good thing?

There is no plan here, only a political advertisement that says nothing tangible about what she would do if, heaven forbid, she becomes president.

But wait; there's more empty balderdash.
As President, she will direct her Administration to crack down on anti-competitive practices that let big corporations jack up prices and undermine the competition that allows all businesses to thrive while keeping prices low for consumers. And she will go after bad actors who exploit an emergency to rip off consumers by calling for the first-ever federal ban on corporate price gouging on food and groceries, which will build on the anti-price gouging statutes already in place in 37 states.

Just as she did as Vice President, she will take on Big Pharma to lower drug prices and cap insulin costs, not just for seniors but for all Americans. And she’ll keep fighting to bring down prescription drug costs by taking on pharmacy middlemen, who raise consumers’ prices for their own gain and squeeze independent pharmacies’ profits.
What is her plan to crack down on "anti-competitive practices." She gives no examples of "price gouging" and her babble sounds like cocktail talk at the Bernie Sanders' honeymoon in Russia. Insofar as groceries are concerned, the profit margins are very low and tell us please, which grocery stores and producers are doing the "price gouging." We have federal laws to fight that already in existence.

Then Harris claims that she is going to be "taking on the pharmacy middlemen." How will she do that and what does it even mean? We don't know because she doesn't explain her points.

Her entire platform on lowering costs is just a bunch vague bull crap disconnected to any policy ideas.

Regarding Social Security, this is the lie that Harris told.
Vice President Harris will protect Social Security and Medicare against relentless attacks from Donald Trump and his extreme allies. She will strengthen Social Security and Medicare for the long haul by making millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share in taxes. She will always fight to ensure that Americans can count on getting the benefits they earned.
Former President Trump never said that he wanted to cut or even touch Social Security--it was never on the table.  On the contrary, Trump has been criticized from the right because he doesn't want to do anything to fix the program before it careens off the fiscal cliff.

Nevertheless, Harris' plan to save Social Security is to raise taxes. Not a good plan because the nation's billionaires could be taxed a hundred percent and that wouldn't save it. Harris is hoping the American public is too stupid to see through this lie.

The website went on to brag about the Inflation Reduction Act, which turned out to be an oxymoron. It increased inflation and destroyed jobs while never creating those 'high-quality clean energy jobs" that were promised.
As Attorney General, Kamala Harris won tens of millions in settlements against Big Oil and held polluters accountable. As Vice President, she cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, the largest investment in climate action in history. This historic work is lowering household energy costs, creating hundreds of thousands of high-quality clean energy jobs, and building a thriving clean energy economy, all while ensuring America’s energy security and independence with record energy production. As President, she will unite Americans to tackle the climate crisis as she builds on this historic work, advances environmental justice, protects public lands and public health, increases resilience to climate disasters, lowers household energy costs, creates millions of new jobs, and continues to hold polluters accountable to secure clean air and water for all. As the Vice President said at the international climate conference, COP28, she knows that meeting this global challenge will require global cooperation and she is committed to continuing and building upon the United States’ international climate leadership. She and Governor Walz will always fight for the freedom to breathe clean air, drink clean water, and live free from the pollution that fuels the climate crisis.
The Inflation Reduction Act was a worthless clusterfrack [sic] that has accomplished essentially nothing but giving the IRS a bunch of money to waste, collecting a fraction back with new enforcement. Her pretense of uniting the country against climate change is simply a bunch of empty pretentious words.

She says nothing and does nothing. Her assignment as "border czar" is a clear example of that. The words that come out of her cackling mouth are just the same garbage the Left has been spouting for years. There is nothing new or thought out, but the Democrats are hoping that your 'joy' will overcome your intelligence.

VP Kamala Hahaharris gaffes again

Affirmative Action VP Kamala Harris is on a gaffe mission and it hit an all-time high on Friday when she called for lowering the population to provide American kids with cleaner air and drinking water. With less American kids and their parents, there is less pollution in water and air somehow as she sees it.

Speaking through her nostrils, the Vice President of the United States told a crowd of clapping seals at Coppin State University in Baltimore, "[W]hen we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water." Her speech mainly addressed the Inflation Reduction Act, an act that increases inflation by increasing government spending.

Harris probably meant to say the word "pollution" rather than "population," but if you look at what the government appears to be doing by trying to decrease police funding along with demonizing normal sexuality, it seems like Harris was spoking truth to her idiocy.

Friday's gaffe came just days after Harris tried to explain artificial intelligence [AI--it stands for Artificial Intelligence, in case you're from an extragalactic planet] at a discussion with labor and civil rights leaders.

"I think the first part of this issue that should be articulated is AI is kind of a fancy thing," our embarrassing VP said at the Wednesday event. "First of all, it's two letters. It means artificial intelligence, but ultimately what it is, is it's about machine learning." Ooh, she said ultimately--that means "in the end."

"And so, the machine is taught — and part of the issue here is what information is going into the machine that will then determine — and we can predict then, if we think about what information is going in, what then will be produced in terms of decisions and opinions that may be made through that process," she added to sound erudite.

Check out the video below. She begins the climate crisis talk at around 4:40.

The day prior to this, she made comments at a transportation roundtable discussion in which Pete Buttigieg did not attend possibly due to him chest feeding his baby.

"This issue of transportation is fundamentally about just making sure that people have the ability to get where they need to go! It's that basic," the buffoon said.

Is she high on crack or is she drunk? You make the call.

Ford Electric Mustang's Price Increases More Than Biden's Tax Credit: is anyone surprised?

Biden wants us to all give up our gas-driven cars and purchase EV cars instead. He is bribing the public up to $7,500 in a tax credit to anyone who buys an EV.

But his drunken sailor-in-a-whorehouse spending isn't matching the inflated costs of vehicle manufacturing, so the money he's handing out in tax credit is a joke.

The price of the Ford Mustang Mach-E will increase up to 8,475 starting September due to the "significant material cost increases" and "evolving market conditions," the company said. Of course, the increases of materials is due to the Biden inflation, but Biden hopes you won't notice. [H/T Daily Wire]

The new price tag on the Mustang EV for the 2023 model will increase on Tuesday of next week, in response to the Democrats' Inflation Reduction Act, a massive climate spending bill that handed out tax credits to Americans willing to purchase certain EVs and will only increase, not decrease, inflation, as we are already seeing in this example.

“Ford is adjusting the MSRP on the Mustang Mach-E due to significant material cost increases, continued strain on key supply chains, and rapidly evolving market conditions, and will continue to monitor pricing across the model year,” the Michigan-based motor company explained.

The Mustang Mach-E 2022 models were priced between 44,000 and $62,000, but the 2023 makes of the EV will cost as high as $70,000 with the cheapest option being $47,000. Earlier this month, Ford also increased prices on its electric pickup truck, the F-150 Lightning, according to CNBC. Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, and GM have also raised prices on EVs this year, all for the same reasons.

Got inflation?

Prices of EVs have been increasing prices as electric battery costs shot up during the pandemic. Battery materials such as lithium, nickel and cobalt have become difficult to acquire, and China basically has a monopoly on cobalt and lithium production. Biden's supply chain issues have caused the cost of raw materials for EV production to double from March 2020 to May 2022.

According to the Department of Energy, the 2022 Ford Mach-E qualifies for Biden’s tax credit. The 2023 model, however, did not appear on the department’s list of EVs that qualified.

And if the goal of electric vehicles is to reduce carbon emissions and pollution, they are an abject failure. It takes fossil fuels to generate most electricity in the USA and the disposal of EV batteries causes significantly more ground pollution than a village of Democrats with private jets on their way to a climate summit.

Democrats betray Manchin: can I get an LOL

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) went along with his party last month and got him to cave on the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act. This shocked many Republicans as well as a few Democrats, because he seemed to have been the voice of reason on the Left and we all thought he was going to vote against this ridiculous bill.

However, in July, Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and his substantial nostrils was joined by Manchin to announce support for the $740 billion fiscally irresponsible bill whose title is an oxymoron. This bill will not only not reduce inflation, it will likely increase it and it's actually about climate change and drunken sailor spending to deal with it. The bill will subsidize green energy programs, dramatically expand the army of the IRS, and raise taxes on the middle class while lying about it as they do it.

Manchin was promised by alleged President Joe Biden and other Democratic liars that they will facilitate the approval of a gas pipeline in West Virginia. In order to do that, they would have to pass legislation that would “overhaul the permitting process for energy infrastructure,” according to The American Prospect, a liberal website.

But as it turns out, House progressives don't want to support something that  “could undercut the IRA’s down payment on clean energy by accelerating approval for energy projects that could ramp up U.S. fossil fuel production and exports of natural gas,” The American Prospect reported. So Manchin is screwed, just like he did to the country.

House Democrats were reportedly angry that they didn't get called on to negotiate with Manchin, according to The Washington Times

Now they don't plan to honor the agreement and this hopefully will hurt Manchin with West Virginia voters.

In a statement to the Prospect, Michigan's Jew-hating POS Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib, wrote:

“Handshake deals made by others in closed rooms do not dictate how I vote, and we sure as hell don’t owe Joe Manchin anything now. He and his fossil fuel donors already got far too much in the IRA … and we will vote this dirty deal down, one way or another.”

What a woman of integrity, love and chutzpah.

Other Democrats joined in on the Manchin trashing.

California Rep. Jared Huffman said he refuses to be “steamrolled into a bunch of fossil fuel giveaways just because Manchin cut a deal in a closed room with Chuck Schumer,” the Times reported.

I think I may have just wet myself.

Welcome to reality, Joe. You gave away your reputation for integrity, honesty and fairness and made a deal with the devil Democrats and they sold you out.

I hope you are satisfied, you freaking hypocrite.
