Trump admin may be willing to make 'significant accommodations' on sanctions relief for the terrorists

WASHINGTON—In a stunning display of 21st-century diplomacy that somehow hasn't collapsed into a mushroom cloud yet, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Sunday that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz now depends on "full Iranian acceptance and then compliance" with negotiated terms. Of course, trusting the ayatollahs to keep their word is like the scorpion carrying the frog across the stream, for you fable fans.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, evidently moonlighting as a Trump hype man, commended President Donald Trump for leading "extraordinary efforts to pursue peace" after a high-level multilateral phone conference that rounded up the usual suspects from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. Sources confirm the call went swimmingly, with zero participants threatening to turn anyone into a parking lot.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated on Saturday that the main U.S. objective remains preventing Tehran from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon, ambitious stuff, considering Iran views "nuclear weapon" the same way a kid views a participation trophy, as in 'everyone should get one.'

President Trump, never one to undersell a deal, declared that the Iran agreement to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz has been "largely negotiated," which in diplomatic terms means "we're basically there except for the part where they keep lying."

The U.S. may be willing to make "significant accommodations" for Iran on sanctions relief if the nation's leaders are willing to make similar accommodations to the U.S. on enriched uranium, a senior administration official told Fox News on Sunday, in what historians are already calling "the most polite game of nuclear chicken ever played."

The official downplayed reports that the deal could be signed on Sunday, saying Tehran's system "does not move fast enough."

"Our plan is to deal with all of their stockpile of the enriched material," the official said. "We see the Iranians making some serious accommodations on these questions that we didn't see before." And if you believe the Islamic Regime at their word, I have a bridge to sell you.

"If the Iranians make significant accommodations on the enrichment question then we will make significant accommodations on sanctions relief," the official continued.

"Even in the IRGC's own propaganda, they did not talk about tolling the Strait of Hormuz. Our position is quite clear. We don't think that a toll is an acceptable outcome," the official added. 

At the time of this writing, Iran was reportedly nodding along while secretly spinning more centrifuges, and Washington was pretending this time would be different.

And snakes have hips.

If the Islamic Regime of Iran is allowed to remain in power, nothing will have been accomplished and this will be a waste of blood and treasure.

Georgetown University ‘appalled’ by department chair’s call for Iran to strike U.S. base

Georgetown University, that bastion of academic propriety, finds itself “appalled” by one of its own, a professor no less, who has taken to the digital agora to muse about Iran launching a “symbolic strike” on a U.S. military base. 

One might wonder what passes for symbolism in such a mind, but let us not get ahead of ourselves. The culprit [aka scumcrumpet] is Jonathan Brown, a tenured professor and chair of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, who also holds the rather grandiloquent title of Alwaleed bin Talal chair of Islamic Civilization. A man of such credentials, one assumes, ought to know better than to tweet something so breathtakingly reckless and traitorous. 

Yet on Sunday, following the U.S. strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, Brown took to X with the following gem: “I’m not an expert, but I assume Iran could still get a bomb easily. I hope Iran does some symbolic strike on a base, then everyone stops.” 

Pause for a moment to marvel at the casualness of it all: a professor, not an “expert” mind you, but sufficiently confident to opine that Iran, a regime not exactly known for its restraint, could whip up a nuclear bomb with the ease of a Starbucks barista frothing a latte. And then, the pièce de résistance: a hope, no a prayer, that Iran might lob a missile at an American base, all in the name of symbolism, before everyone, presumably, shakes hands and calls it a day.

Georgetown, to its credit, was swift to express its horror. “We are reviewing this matter to see if further action is warranted,” a university spokesperson told the outlet Jewish Insider, adding that the administration is, naturally, “appalled” by Brown’s since-deleted tweet. 

One wonders what such a review entails; perhaps a sternly worded email, or a committee meeting to debate the precise boundaries of academic freedom when it veers into fantasizing about geopolitical violence. The tweet, of course, has vanished, but not before Brown, son-in-law of convicted terror supporter Sami Al-Arian, offered a defense as limp as a wet noodle: “I deleted my previous tweet because a lot of people were interpreting it as a call for violence,” he lied. “That’s not what I intended. I have two immediate family members in the US military who’ve served abroad and wouldn’t want any harm to befall American soldiers… or anyone!”

So a nuke on an American sight is not a call for violence the jihadi professor wants us to believe. How touching. A man who has spent considerable energy since October 7, 2023, denouncing Israel as “insanely racist” now wishes to assure us that his heart bleeds for American soldiers, his own kin, no less. 

One might ask why, if harm to “anyone” is so anathema to him, he felt compelled to float the idea of an Iranian missile strike in the first place. But such is the intellectual contortionism of the modern academy, where one can condemn with one breath and backpedal with the next, all while cloaked in the sanctity of tenure.

This is not Brown’s first brush with controversy, nor is it Georgetown’s. 

The university has been under scrutiny for its handling of campus anti-Semitism, with the House Education and Workforce Committee summoning interim president Robert Groves to testify on July 9. You might think, with such a spotlight trained upon it, Georgetown would be more circumspect, but the institution has a curious habit of digging in its heels. 

Take, for instance, its defense of Badar Khan Suri, a postdoctoral scholar detained by federal authorities, or the questions swirling around the funding it receives from Qatar for its campus in Doha. These are not the actions of a university eager to demonstrate its moral clarity.

In an era when elite institutions are bending, however reluctantly, to demands for accountability,

Georgetown’s defiance is as notable as it is disgusting.

It is a defiance that seems less principled than performative, a refusal to grapple with the rot within its own ranks. Brown’s tweet, however ill-conceived, is not an aberration but a symptom of an academic culture that too often indulges dangerous ideas under the guise of discourse, and of a university that, when faced with the consequences, can muster only a performance of being “appalled.”

Iran on the cusp of going nuclear thanks to Biden- and they want Harris to win

As the US presidential election fast approaches, it is known that Iran wants Kamala Harris to win and may be ready to push forward a nuclear weapon as the Trump-Harris election battle continues.

The Islamic Republic now has the technical know-how and resources to get more than a dozen nuclear bombs online in just four months — possibly before Joe Biden technically leaves office [he's been mentally gone for years, sources say].

Tehran thus far has enriched over 6,200 kilograms of uranium to the 5%, 20% and 60% levels. Weapons grade uranium 235 is about 90% enrichment and this is what the mullahs are going for, while under Trump they generated less than low-enriched uranium with fewer than 2,400 centrifuges. 

Now it has over 7,400 of the advanced centrifuges required to rapidly enrich radioactive ore, along with other technical advances that will allow it to replace human lab work on a nuclear weapon with computer modeling, which is much easier to conceal and far quicker.

Worse still, it has reactivated its Fordow enrichment site and is reportedly building a new site near the Natanz facility, one sunk so deep in the earth it would be immune to offensive strikes unless the Mossad can infiltrate it and blow it to smithereens.

In other words, America’s most committed enemy in the Middle East and the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism is now on the cusp of a strategic breakthrough that will see it empowered beyond anyone’s worst nightmares.

Maybe if Biden-Harris sends them more money, they'll be nice to us. After all, the Biden-Harris administration has left us with a border crisis, another national security clusterfrack [sic] so we need to deal with that as well.

Call Trump crazy if you want to, but under his administration, Iran, North Korea, China and Russia knew better than to mess with us.
