Georgetown University ‘appalled’ by department chair’s call for Iran to strike U.S. base

Georgetown University, that bastion of academic propriety, finds itself “appalled” by one of its own, a professor no less, who has taken to the digital agora to muse about Iran launching a “symbolic strike” on a U.S. military base. 

One might wonder what passes for symbolism in such a mind, but let us not get ahead of ourselves. The culprit [aka scumcrumpet] is Jonathan Brown, a tenured professor and chair of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, who also holds the rather grandiloquent title of Alwaleed bin Talal chair of Islamic Civilization. A man of such credentials, one assumes, ought to know better than to tweet something so breathtakingly reckless and traitorous. 

Yet on Sunday, following the U.S. strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, Brown took to X with the following gem: “I’m not an expert, but I assume Iran could still get a bomb easily. I hope Iran does some symbolic strike on a base, then everyone stops.” 

Pause for a moment to marvel at the casualness of it all: a professor, not an “expert” mind you, but sufficiently confident to opine that Iran, a regime not exactly known for its restraint, could whip up a nuclear bomb with the ease of a Starbucks barista frothing a latte. And then, the pièce de résistance: a hope, no a prayer, that Iran might lob a missile at an American base, all in the name of symbolism, before everyone, presumably, shakes hands and calls it a day.

Georgetown, to its credit, was swift to express its horror. “We are reviewing this matter to see if further action is warranted,” a university spokesperson told the outlet Jewish Insider, adding that the administration is, naturally, “appalled” by Brown’s since-deleted tweet. 

One wonders what such a review entails; perhaps a sternly worded email, or a committee meeting to debate the precise boundaries of academic freedom when it veers into fantasizing about geopolitical violence. The tweet, of course, has vanished, but not before Brown, son-in-law of convicted terror supporter Sami Al-Arian, offered a defense as limp as a wet noodle: “I deleted my previous tweet because a lot of people were interpreting it as a call for violence,” he lied. “That’s not what I intended. I have two immediate family members in the US military who’ve served abroad and wouldn’t want any harm to befall American soldiers… or anyone!”

So a nuke on an American sight is not a call for violence the jihadi professor wants us to believe. How touching. A man who has spent considerable energy since October 7, 2023, denouncing Israel as “insanely racist” now wishes to assure us that his heart bleeds for American soldiers, his own kin, no less. 

One might ask why, if harm to “anyone” is so anathema to him, he felt compelled to float the idea of an Iranian missile strike in the first place. But such is the intellectual contortionism of the modern academy, where one can condemn with one breath and backpedal with the next, all while cloaked in the sanctity of tenure.

This is not Brown’s first brush with controversy, nor is it Georgetown’s. 

The university has been under scrutiny for its handling of campus anti-Semitism, with the House Education and Workforce Committee summoning interim president Robert Groves to testify on July 9. You might think, with such a spotlight trained upon it, Georgetown would be more circumspect, but the institution has a curious habit of digging in its heels. 

Take, for instance, its defense of Badar Khan Suri, a postdoctoral scholar detained by federal authorities, or the questions swirling around the funding it receives from Qatar for its campus in Doha. These are not the actions of a university eager to demonstrate its moral clarity.

In an era when elite institutions are bending, however reluctantly, to demands for accountability,

Georgetown’s defiance is as notable as it is disgusting.

It is a defiance that seems less principled than performative, a refusal to grapple with the rot within its own ranks. Brown’s tweet, however ill-conceived, is not an aberration but a symptom of an academic culture that too often indulges dangerous ideas under the guise of discourse, and of a university that, when faced with the consequences, can muster only a performance of being “appalled.”

Georgetown losers and coach kneel for National Anthem

The entire men's basketball team of Georgetown University [Go Scum Muffins!] went down on a knee along with their loser coach before the playing of the national anthem in the NCAA tournament in which they lost to Colorado on Saturday.

Coach Patrick Ewing along with the team can be seen going to their knees on the court, arms linked, and making the world a better place in their minds. 

Anyway, the anti-anthem players got their asses handed to them with the score of 96 to 73. At least we won't have to see them in the next round, but I must confess, I could care less about NCAA basketball and March Madness--it's all hype.

National anthem kneeling began when a mediocre quarterback in the NFL named Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the anthem in 2016. He claimed the kneeling was due to widespread oppression of black people in the United States, in spite of there being no evidence that oppression of black people is widespread. The more likely explanation for the demonstration is that Kaepernick was going to be cut from the team from which he increasingly sucked.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said at the time, refusing to do anything more than kneel and complain. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

The bodies in the street are statistically much more likely to have been put there by other Black people than by police or by White people. But this sad fact is never revealed by race hustlers and virtue signalers like Kaepernick. 

I recall a time years ago when then-New York Knicks player Patrick Ewing stood behind me in line at JFK International Airport waiting to get his boarding pass. The ticket clerk called him to her counter and allowed him and his son to jump the line and board ahead of the rest of us peons. If that isn't racist oppression, I don't know what to call it.

True story.

Georgetown backs professor who said white GOP men should be murdered, castrated

Georgetown University professor, ironically named Christine Fair, is an obnoxious anti-Trumper who went on social media to call for the murder and castration of white Republican men.

"Look at thus [sic] chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist's arrogant entitlement. All of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists [aka feminazis] laugh as they take their last gasps. Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine [aka: Fair and her ilk]? Yes," she wrote while reacting to, and posting a video of Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) defending the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh at Thursday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, speaking about the sexual allegations made about him by Christine Blasey Ford.

Because Georgetown is run by leftists who don't need facts to make up their minds, they stood up for Fair.

"The views of faculty members expressed in their private capacities are their own and not the views of the University. Our policy does not prohibit speech based on the person presenting ideas or the content of those ideas, even when those ideas may be difficult, controversial or objectionable," Georgetown's spokes putz Matt Hill told The Western Journal via email.

Hill added, "While faculty members may exercise freedom of speech, we expect that their classrooms and interaction with students be free of bias and geared toward thoughtful, respectful dialogue."

I thought that calling for the death of a group of male people is both racist and sexist and goes against the U.S. Constitution. I thought it violates free speech law if she is asking for people to do what she called for.

The school didn't mean Hill's statement as a joke, but it's laughable to say that they expect the classrooms and interaction with students to be free from bias when you consider the disproportion of leftist professors compared to their conservative colleagues.

And the fact that Fair conducts a "thoughtful, respectful dialogue" is a joke when you consider she openly advocates for the murder of people she disagrees with and has "Abort Trump" and F**k Trump" stickers at public speaking events.

Fair's Twitter bio describes herself as an "inter-sectional feminist, pitbull apostle, scotch devotee, nontheist, resister." Although one cannot access her account anymore. Her photo reads: "DON'T GRAB MY PU**Y."

The unfair-minded Fair also has a blog which doxxes men with whom she disagrees and calls it "S**tMenSay."

Georgetown is a joke.
