Dem lawmaker refuses to apologize for insensitive remarks at school shooting vigil

Democratic Congressman Jason Crow (CO) refuses to apologize for discussing politics at a vigil for victims of the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting.

Crow, who should be eating his namesake, fe
lt that his political ideology was more important to discuss than showing empathy and sympathy for the students who lost a fellow student with injuries to others, and experienced a life-changing trauma that has nothing whatsoever to do with politics.

Crow, a freshman who represents STEM in the U.S. House of Representatives, released a statement defending remarks he made at a vigil on Wednesday organized by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. The remarks, along with those made by Colorado's senior Senator Michael Bennet (Dummy), triggered a massive walkout from students and survivors of the shooting.

The students correctly accused both Crow and Bennet of politicizing their grief in favor of their gun-control agenda.

"It is my job to show up and support my community during times of tragedy," Crow said on Thursday. "I grieve for what Highlands Ranch and our families have been through." A copy of the statement was shared on social media by local Colorado reporter.

Our families? Is he kidding? If his family had been through this, G-d forbid, his take wouldn't be about gun control, because even he knows that more gun control wouldn't have prevented the shooting. He would have been in touch with the feelings of the victims who were shot and those who were able to run to safety.

"The last few days I have been asked the same question over and over again: what are you doing to stop this from happening?" Crow crowed. "It is my job to take tough questions and offer real solutions. Bottomline, everyone needs to listen to those most impacted by this violence to learn how we can move forward, and that begins with listening to the students of STEM school."

His solution is no solution at all, and his clear lack of real empathy only creates animosity and rejection of any actual solutions he might have offered at a different point in time.

Wednesday's demonstration occurred one day after two gunmen opened fire at STEM resulting in the death of one student and the wounding of eight others. The fatality occurred when Kendrick Castillo, an 18-year-old senior, was wounded heroically leading a group of his fellow students to subdue the gunmen.

It was Bennet's decision to invoke Castillo's bravery at the vigil that initially sparked the ill-feelings that led to the walkout. The senator, who recently announced his campaign for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, told the 2,000 in attendance that Congress had failed to fix "America's broken gun laws," so students like, Castillo, were forced to "give up their own life…to save their classmates' lives." When it was his turn to speak, Crow only upset those gathered even more by saying "they already" had his "thoughts and prayers" but deserved and "should demand more."

After the remarks, a large portion of the students chose to walkout to the parking lot, rather than remain at the vigil.

"Don't use Kendrick’s name for political reasons!" students shouted while leaving, as the Highlands Ranch Herald noted. Others chanted "Mental Health!" and "It's not about guns," as they marched out the door.

Before releasing his statement on Thursday, Crow, who is an actual heartless cretin, introduced legislation to prohibit gun sales to individuals residing outside of the state where the purchase is taking place.

Senate GOP goes nuclear

Well, it's going to be a done deal. The Grand Old Party has set the nuclear option' to finalize the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

Thanks to Harry Reid (who first used the 'nuclear option' to push through the Democrat's picks and thumb his nose at the Republicans) the GOP is now in the driver's seat.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he now has the votes to end the Democrat's veto power and have Gorsuch confirmed Friday. The voting should take place at around 11:30 a.m.

The rule change would change the 67 vote threshold needed to a mere majority of 51 votes.

Gorsuch, 49, is a highly qualified justice with a decade of federal appeals court experience and Senate Republicans say he will be a strong addition to the court.

Democrats say putting him on the court will result in more decisions favoring corporations over working-class Americans. These hypocrites are whining over the refusal last year to consider Obama's liberal choice of Judge Merrick Garland in spite of Joe Biden's rule of not seating a Supreme Court judge in the final days of a presidency until after the next election.

There are four Democrats who voted with the GOP for Gorsuch: Michael Bennet (D-CO), Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Joe Donnelly (D-IN).

Thank you Hairy Weed.
