Former Democrat Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby guilty on 2 counts of perjury

Former Baltimore City State's Attorney and staunch Democrat Marilyn Mosby, was convicted on two counts of perjury by a federal jury.

Mosby was raised by her grandparents in Dorchester, Boston. And in spite of both of her parents being police officers, she seemed to have a dislike for cops as we can see in the Freddie Gray case in 2015 when she charged six police officers who had arrested Gray prior to his death caused by injuries while he was in custody. Some, like David Jaros an associate professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law, said that she may have overcharged the police in this case, but agreed that this was quite typical in criminal cases that do not involve police. Also, anonymous police department sources said that Baltimore's investigation didn't support some of the charges brought against the cops, as reported by CNN.

As far as how she viewed crime and law, in January 2019 she announced that her office wouldn't any longer prosecute people for marijuana possession, no matter the quantity. She announced that she would vacate about 5,000 marijuana possession convictions. The following year, Democrat Mosby, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Mosby announced that her office would no longer pursue charges related to drug possession, prostitution, minor traffic violations and other low-level offenses in order to halt the spread of the coronavirus in Baltimore prisons. In March 2021, she announced that she would make it permanent, adding that the temporary 'experiment' didn't lead to more serious crimes.

She announced that she would run for re-election in 2022 but was defeated by Ivan Bates in the Democratic primary.

So that's who  Marilyn Mosby is: an intelligent woman who was stupid to think that she could get away with the crime of which she was convicted.

The federal jury reached the verdict Thursday, finding Mosby guilty of perjury after she falsely claimed financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to withdraw money from the city's retirement fund, prosecutors announced.

"We respect the jury’s verdict and remain steadfastly committed to our mission to uphold the rule of law, keep our country safe, protect the civil rights of all Americans, and safeguard public property," U.S. Attorney Erek L. Barron said.

Mosby, a Democrat, faces a maximum sentence of five years in the slammer for each of the two counts, which mathematically adds up to ten years or about 3,652 days counting leap years.

U.S. District Judge Lydia K. Griggsby has not as yet scheduled a sentencing hearing.

Mosby made false mortgage applications in a pending federal case related to the purchase of two Florida vacation homes. That trial has not as yet been set, but if found guilty, the sentence can either run concurrent to whatever she is sentenced in the case above, or it can be consecutive and add more time onto it.

When she walked out of the federal courthouse she told reporters, "I'm blessed, I have nothing else to say." Had she not been blessed, Mosby, a Democrat, would have been found guilty of a more serious crime one can surmise.

Baltimore prosecutor Marilyn Mosby goes to default position: calls 'racism' to her indictment

It seems as if whenever a person of color allegedly breaks the law and is called out for it, the left immediately goes to their default position and calls the accuser(s) racist. If the person in question is not a person of color, but a leftist, then the default position decries the accusation as being politically motivated. In Baltimore prosecutor Marilyn Mosby's case, and in her opinion, to accuse her of a crime is both racist and politically motivated.

Mosby's lawyers filed a motion seeking to have the federal indictment alleging that she improperly received COVID relief funds and lied on mortgage applications for the purchase of two vacation homes in the free state of Florida, be thrown out. They argued that prosecutors were racially and politically motivated to ruin her career, who they described as a "young, progressive, Black, female elected official."

So Black women in political positions are judgment-proof?

The motion was filed on Friday last week in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. It seeks to have the federal indictment against Mosby dismissed on the basis of "selective or vindictive prosecution," and names Assistant U.S. Attorney Leo Wise alleging the "animosity" he has shown toward Mosby is "an example of a pattern and practice of engaging in similar conduct aimed at other Black officials." The other person named is U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, Erek Barron, who signed the indictment against Mosby.

"Since its inception, the prosecution against State’s Attorney Mosby has been driven by malicious personal, political, and even racial animus on the part of the prosecutors," lawyers for Mosby wrote, but offered no examples of this claim.

The lawyers continued, "The indictment returned against State’s Attorney Mosby is the culmination of a long-running crusade to ruin the political career of a young, progressive, Black, female elected official, led by a prosecutor who has repeatedly made financial contributions to the campaigns of her political opponents and led a prosecution team that engaged in intentionally reckless behavior that stonewalled any participation by State’s Attorney Mosby and failed to disclose exculpatory evidence to the Grand Jury."

The motion alleges the indictment was purposely timed to influence her June 2022 reelection prospects, but again, this is only speculation because contrary to popular belief of the left, nobody can read anyone's mind.

Mosby, 42, a two-term Democrat, of course, is Baltimore State's Attorney. She is charged with two counts of perjury [willfully lying under oath] and two counts of making false statements on loan applications.

She allegedly requested coronavirus-related withdrawals in the amounts of $40,000 and $50,000 from the City of Baltimore’s deferred compensation plans. The indictment said she falsely verified meeting at least one of the qualifications as defined under the CARES Act despite earning a gross salary of $247,956 in 2020.

Mosby is also accused of making false statements on loan applications for a $490,500 mortgage to purchase a home in Kissimmee, Florida, and for a $428,400 mortgage to purchase a condominium in Long Boat Key, Florida, but allegedly failed to disclose that she and her husband Nick Mosby, Democratic president of the Baltimore City Council, also allegedly had unpaid federal taxes amounting to $45,022 and also that the IRS placed a lien against all property and rights to property for that amount. But Nick Mosby, who is also Black, has not been charged which has race-baiters scratching their collective heads.

Marilyn Mosby pleaded not guilty to all counts earlier this month.

The motion filed by Mosby's lawyers takes aim at Wise for contributing to the campaigns of Mosby’s Democratic primary opponents for state’s attorney in 2018, Ivan Bates and Thiru Vignarajah. However, two things can be true at the same time: Wise may have supported Bates and Vignarajah because he thought they were better candidates than Mosby, and also believed Mosby is guilty as charged.

It also accused Wise of engaging in a "smear campaign" against Mosby, accusing her office of leaking information about a federal investigation into the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force.

"When you don’t have the law or the facts on your side you claim that it’s a witch hunt, you point fingers back at the prosecutors, that’s not uncommon," Vignarajah, a former federal prosecutor, told Fox 45.

That tactic can be seen in "Rules for Radicals," by Saul Alinsky.

In Rule Number 5 it states:  “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

The Left loves that rule.

Marilyn Mosby indicted on federal perjury charges, sees Kamala Harris as her inspiration

Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby was indicted on federal perjury charges on Thursday and it seems as though she couldn't have done it without the inspiration. she received from Vice President Kamala Hahahaharris when Mosby was coming up as a Democrat in Maryland.

Now that Mosby may be going to prison as an inmate, she's very concerned about the criminal justice system and prison reform.

For her part, then-Senator Harris said at a Los Angeles fundraiser of Mosby in 2017: "When we march and we shout about what we need to do to reform the criminal justice system, we better understand that we gotta march and shout with our paychecks – and all of the work that we can do to actually make sure that somebody like Marilyn Mosby gets reelected into that office, to not only get convictions, but have convictions."

That may have been one of the last times in which Harris spoke a semi-coherent sentence, albeit quite a run on sentence at that.

"There are a lot of people who are highly critical of her," Harris said mostly through her nostrils, "because she heard the voices of the people and said, ‘Even if I can’t win I’m going to do the right thing.’ It’s going to be rough. It’s going to be tough. … She cannot fail and I know she will not fail."

She "heard the voices of the people?" How about she heard the people? How pretentiously Harris that rhetoric is.

Mosby, 41, has been state's apparently corrupt attorney in Baltimore since 2015, and is most lately accused of lying on a mortgage application, claiming a coronavirus-related financial hardship in order to withdraw money from her city retirement account.

The Boston native pulled out tens of thousands of dollars from the account to make down payments on two Florida vacation homes, according to court documents.

She chose Florida because Gov. Ron Dion DeSantis {R-with cool middle name] refused to force mask mandates and the like on people in his state, and Democrats who made laws in their own states, flock to Florida for the freedom the took away from their own constituents who are too dumb to vote them out.

After Harris fell into the position of vice president in 2020, based on her genitals and melanin, Mosby told the Baltimore Sun how Harris had inspired and helped her.

"On a personal note, she has inspired Black women like me to run for office," Mosby told the newspaper. They just went about getting power in different ways.

"There would be no Marilyn Mosby without Kamala Harris. When I won state’s attorney, Kamala was my inspiration."

And that's how she got indicted.

There has been no evidence found as yet showing any connection of Harris regarding Mosby's indictment and Democrats are not looking into the matter.

MD Gov. to investigate Baltimore City AG Marilyn Mosby's office

Now that there has been a surge in violent crime, including high profile homicides, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (R)  announced that investigations into Baltimore City Attorney General Marilyn Mosby's office will take place.

Hogan made a series of announcements  regarding his office's efforts to bring crime under control in Baltimore and promised an investigation into the controversial city's AG, who made national headlines early this year when she announced that her office would no longer prosecute "low-level" crimes like drug possession and prostitution. She claimed that "the data suggest there is no public safety value in prosecuting low-level offenses."

Of course, she probably never actually looked at any "data" because reality doesn't support her words.

The city has seen serious deterioration in the quality of life since Mosby pontificated her point. This sparked a over 40 businesses to threaten to refuse to pay taxes until some improvement in crime prevention is realized.

Even beyond quality of life issues, there has been a serious spike in violent crime in the city and for seven straight years, homicides have surpassed 300. The city almost laughingly created what they term "no shoot zones."

But for some reason, shooters refused to obey the law. It's like gun control--only law abiding citizens go along with law. Who'd a thunk?

Gov. Hogan spoke at a press conference where he said,  "People are being shot nearly every single day in Baltimore City, and we all have an obligation to do something about it right now. With all of the actions we have announced today, I want those families and all the victims of this violence to know that we will not stop pursuing those criminals who are terrorizing our community, and we will continue to use every tool at our disposal to make these neighborhoods safer and to get these violent shooters off the streets."

Hogan took a potshot at Mosby's office. He sent a letter to her demanded an accounting of her office's use of state crime prevention funds, including specifically an accounting of "The number of cases your office has chosen not to prosecute, including a breakdown of the reasons for non-prosecution." He also demanded to know, "The number of cases plead down to lesser charges, including plea agreements reached that are less than mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines."

The Governor threatened that "all funding for your office [will be placed] under evaluation pending the fulfillment of this request and review of the data produced."

It almost always takes a Republican to do the work of a grownup.

Hogan also announced that his office was fast-tracking and expanding its neighborhood safety grants program, which would provide "hardware upgrades, lighting, cameras, and increased security services for community organizations and business districts," including "places of worship and vulnerable communities." And he will reintroduce crime legislation during a December special session of the Maryland legislature.

In response to Hogan's actions, Mosby lashed out at him, calling his remarks a political stunt and defending her office's prosecution of violent crime. "Quite candidly, he's more concerned with pointing the finger at everyone else, as opposed to actually leading and delivering for a city that is the heartbeat of this state," Mosby claimed.

But the crime statistics clearly validate Gov. Hogan's concerns and Mosby's lack of concern for crime in the city whose motto is: "The Greatest City in America."

Say what?

Baltimore State AG Marilyn Mosby sees a softer side to crime that should not be punished

Mosby angry over something

Baltimore State Attorney General Marilyn Mosby announced the city is going to take a more gentle, less punitive approach to crime and no longer prosecute certain criminals for "low level" crimes like drug possession, prostitution, minor traffic offenses, and other "quality of life" crimes she finds less offensive.

The chronically angry Mosby had previously said the policy as a temporary measure supposedly designed to stem the flow of COVID-19 among cops and prison populations, and to also make Baltimore a more interesting place to survive. But now she claimed at a Friday press conference that the policy had served to lower violent crime in the city and proved that her vision of "criminal justice reform" worked. Thus, the policy is now permanent.

Perhaps if she criminalizes crime, the crime rate will drop even further. She claims that violent crime and property crime has decreased significantly, but that's more likely due to the decrease in arrests.

In fact, the idea of defunding the police would show a similar drop in crime for that same reason, while criminals would make the streets look like a bad day in Metropolis.

But while the homicide rate is hard to fix [aka fudge], they fell only slightly from 2019 and that was an all-time high year for that statistic.

There should be no doubt about Mosby's feelings about the police in her city and in the nation. She has been a frequent and public critic of Baltimore police. But now she has claimed the police force was on board with her program of decriminalizing crime.

"Our understanding is that the police are going to follow what they've been doing for the past year, which is not arresting people based on the offenses I mentioned." She also claimed that police will work with a local non-profit to help Baltimore residents find help for problems like addiction to drugs, homelessness, window smashing, looting and gentle requesting of financial assistance from street donors.

Mosby's husband, Nick Mosby, is president of the Baltimore City Council, and the couple is widely believed to have higher political ambitions which do not exclude leaders of the world. That is, if they can successfully fight the charges leveled against them in a federal criminal investigation that has been opened by the United States Attorney's Office regarding the couple's finances.

The government is reportedly investigating alleged tax and campaign finance improprieties and have huddled with Maxine Waters who they view as their mentor and financial guru.

Mosby was asked questions about the federal investigation during her press conference, but according to NBC News, she refused to answer those questions, preferring instead to discuss her new policies.

She was not led out in handcuffs and plans to decriminalize tax and campaign fraud in her proposed "green" new deal.

Freddie Gray case dropped: Mosby still a livid race baiter

Mosby practiced the "one eyebrow up" all morning
The prosecutors in the Freddie Gray case dropped the remaining charges Wednesday against three Baltimore cops who were awaiting trial in the case in which Gray died while in police custody.

Gray was a 25-year-old black man who suffered a broken neck while handcuffed and shackled but unrestrained in the back of a police van in April 2015. His death was gasoline on the Black Lives Matter fire.

There was a pretrial hearing for Officer Garrett Miller today. He was charged with assault, misconduct in office and reckless endangerment. But rather than going through the pretrial motions, Chief Deputy State's Attorney Michael Schatzow told the judge that the prosecutors were dropping all charges against Miller and the rest of the police officers involved in the case.

By this time, the judge had already acquitted three of the six officers who were charged, including the driver of the police van who was considered to be the most responsible of all being charged, as well as another officer who was the highest-ranking of the six.

A mistrial was called for a fourth cop when the jury was deadlocked.

This case resulted in the police department equipping all officers with body-worn cameras and a large overhaul in its use of force policy.

The U.S. Justice Department has begun an investigation into abuse and unlawful arrest allegations. The officers involved in the case have sued State's Attorney Marilyn "Freddie Gray Will Get Justice" Mosby saying she intentionally filed false charges against them.

Gee, ya think?

Freddie Gray's family got a very fast $6.4 million settlement from the city.

Mosby got an opportunity to apologize for her Herculean screwup but she didn't use it. Instead, she held a news conference after the announcement saying that there is "a reluctance" and "an obvious bias" among some officers investigating the case.

The judge who heard the case is a black man with ethics and an understanding of the law that Marilyn Mosby will never have. Her own racism gets in the way, and I am never quick to use the term 'racism.'

Rather than quell a potentially explosive situation, Mosby said, "We do not believe Freddie Gray killed himself. We stand by the medical examiner's determination that Freddie Gray's death was a homicide."

Mosby's law license was likely obtained in a Cracker Jacks box. She should step down from her position with the city, but people like her never do the honorable thing.

Mosby was hacked like a Weiner

Marilyn Mosby, the Baltimore City state attorney, is the victim of a vicious hacking attack that randomly "favorited" two controversial tweets.

Can you believe it, hackers actually tried making Ms. Mosby look like she approved of tweets that someone else tweeted about the 6 Baltimore cops involved in the Michael Brown Trayvon Martin Freddie Gray case. The tweeter referred to the cops as " those 6 thugs" and the hacker made it look like poor Ms. Mosby agreed with that assessment by giving it a "favorite" response using her account.

The other tweet praised Ms. Mosby's handling of the case and said that she "INFURIATES a certain kind of white person."

Can't you imagine a hacker, who is not Ms. Mosby, showing a favorite response on Twitter to a tweet that praised the person hacked? Makes perfect sense. Probably some damned conservative hacker trying to get Ms. Mosby in trouble.

It's a shame these things happen to such upstanding and reputable people. It brings to mind Anthony Weiner when he was hacked in the so-called "Weinergate Scandal" that rocked the nation . . . well, okay, not the whole nation, but his wife Huma Abedin and the Muslim Brotherhood (the latter who probably does not care much for him because he's Jewish) were not happy because of his association with them.

Ms. Mosby tweeted on May 23rd from her personal account that her official account had been hacked--not her personal account. She had no proof but said she assumed it was  hacked because of the "favs" that she got caught not "faving," in spite of the ease with which she was later able to access her account.

But her personal account was  also hacked around the same time. What a terrible coincidence that might cause one to think she may be pulling a Weiner.

Megyn Kelly of Fox News wondered why would a hacker go into an account to only "favorite" two tweets that someone may or may not find down the road in weeks to follow?

Having her legally involved in the Freddie Gray case would be a miscarriage of justice.

Unless you believe that the Weiner was framed too.

Is Marie Harf Simply Simple?

Istanbul, Turkey--Melih Gokcek, the mayor of Ankara, went on Twitter and posted a tweet going after the blond bombshell, Marie Harf after she criticized Turkish police for the way they handled demonstrations.

The tweet contained a photo of police in Baltimore forcibly subduing a young man during the anarchy that took place there under the pretense by those who looted and destroyed that it was all about Freddie Gray and black lives matter. Mr. Gray died while in police custody and today the state Attorney General Marilyn Mosby has announced that criminal charges have been filed against the six police officers involved in his death.

Gokcek tweeted: "Where are you, stupid blond, who accused Turkish police of using disproportionate force?" The tweet contained a photo of the captivating State Department spokes-puppet. He added: "Come on, blond, answer now."

So the U.S. ambassador to Turkey John Bass responded to the sexist tweet about Harf (which actually rhymes with barf). He tweeted a photo of himself with digitally altered reddish blond hair and a caption saying: "American Diplomats: We Are All Blond."

What Bass should have added was the fact that, with Marie Harf representing the State Department and America's interests, "we are all dumb blonds."

That statement isn't meant to be sexist because with that I include the male portion of the Obama administration. Even Obama acts like a dumb blond when it comes to his lacking of leadership.

Either a dumb blond or a very shrewd Muslim.

Well, here I am again, going off on another tangent. (Now you see why I call my blog "Brain Flushings".) I am not accusing Barack Hussein Obama of being a Muslim, the fact that his father was a Muslim means that Islam accuses him of that charge. According to Islam a child is the same religion as the father because according to Islam, women don't really count much, but NOW doesn't seem to care.

But seriously, let us pray for peace across the nation and that the riots immediately cease now that the cops are being charged on an assortment of counts, including second-degree murder.

However, let's not forget that in America, a person is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise.

Kumbayah.
