Convicted Teen Killer Claims He's Penniless, Seeks Taxpayer-Funded Lawyer As Parents Quietly Fire Up New Business Three Weeks After Fatal Stabbing

MCKINNEY, TX — In a plot twist no one could have predicted except everyone paying attention, Karmelo Anthony, the 19-year-old just handed a 35-year prison sentence for stabbing Austin Metcalf to death at a high school track meet, has bravely declared himself "penniless, destitute, and indigent." The broke murderer now wants the same Texas taxpayers whose justice system he tested with a knife to foot the bill for his appeal.

Public records, those pesky things that keep ruining good sob stories, show Anthony's parents activated a Texas business entity called Angelic Obsessions LLC just 24 days after their son's alleged act of community enrichment. The timing is surely a coincidence, like how a lottery winner buys a yacht the day after scratching the ticket.

Anthony filed court paperwork this week sobbing that he is simply too poor to hire a lawyer, despite a GiveSendGo fundraiser launched in his honor raking in more than $633,000 before it vanished from public view following his conviction. Organizers described the cash as vital for "comprehensive assistance" and "family relocation expenses," which in woke-speak apparently means "help us move somewhere the pitchforks can't find us."

Fox News correspondent Brooke Taylor has been following this saga of justice and sudden entrepreneurship on "The Story." Sources close to reality note that the records do not prove the fundraiser money flowed directly into the new company. Anthony's parents have not been charged with anything, mostly because modern justice systems prefer to lock up the actual stabber first.Before the stabbing, the family's Louisiana business ventures had all the success of a vegan steakhouse. Angelic Obsessions was formed years ago then revoked. Another outfit called Exclusive Luxury Services enjoyed repeated revocations, like a criminal with a revolving door habit. But hey, nothing says "we stand with our son" like getting that LLC paperwork notarized while the blood is still drying on the track.

Anthony was transferred to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he will have plenty of time to reflect on his poverty while the rest of us reflect on how many GoFundMe millions it takes before a guy stops qualifying as "indigent."

Andrew Anthony III, listed as the registered agent for the fresh Texas business, declined to comment. Smart man. In today's America, the real crime isn't the stabbing. It's noticing the timing.

Karmelo Anthony Supporter Reportedly Fired as Other Backers Face Backlash Over Verdict Remarks

A parole supervisor reportedly lost her job and university professors publicly challenged the verdict, blamed the victim, which seems par for the racist course.

Judge John Roach Jr. is standing firm on his call to keep cameras out of the Karmelo Anthony murder trial. Anthony, convicted of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf, is appealing his reasonable 35-year sentence. The judge brushed off any nonsense about personal connections to Metcalf's family and made it clear that a fair trial was the only thing that mattered, even as the usual suspects scream about racial dynamics.

Karmelo Anthony's fans are still out there melting down over his conviction and sentencing for murder.

Anthony was found guilty and hit with 35 years on Tuesday, June 9, for stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf to death at a Frisco, Texas, high school track meet last year.

His supporters insist the convicted killer was just defending himself when he plunged that knife into Metcalf's chest.

One of those supporters is Donna Robinson, a parole supervisor with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The Dallas Morning News reported that a Facebook comment cost her the gig. Addressing comments about the sentencing, she wrote that "Anthony would be protected in prison, adding she didn't care about the victim's family's loss," according to the outlet.

Fox News Digital also reported that Howard University professor Stacey Patton penned an opinion piece on her Substack titled "Dear Jeff Metcalf: Your Son Is Dead Because You Failed to Teach Him That Black Boys Have Boundaries," which basically pins the blame on the dead kid.

Another backer, W. Burlette Carter, professor emerita of law at George Washington University, took to X after the verdict to air her grievances.

She made a post on X that said, "Karmelo Anthony was entitled to a jury of his peers. He did not get that. On that ground alone, he is entitled to a new trial. Minorities are not interchangeable. The prosecutor’s reported proffered reasons for striking all black jurors, that they were teachers, appears to be pretext. Anthony needs a new lawyer on appeal and in a new trial."

Anthony's trial featured jurors who are fellow U.S. citizens, also known as a "jury of one's peers." In all criminal prosecutions, the U.S. Constitution says the accused has "the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed."

Race hustlers have a new cause to rant about: Karmelo Anthony's verdict by an "all-white jury"

FRISCO, TX — America’s professional outrage industry went into full DEFCON 1 Tuesday after a Texas jury took approximately the length of a Chick-fil-A drive-thru order to convict Karmelo Anthony of murder, prompting activists to declare the verdict proof that the nation remains irredeemably racist.

Anthony was convicted for fatally stabbing high school athlete Austin Metcalf at a 2025 track meet after what witnesses described as a brief dispute that could have ended with literally anyone just walking away. Instead, Anthony reportedly chose the “escalate directly to homicide” option.

Video footage showed Anthony refusing repeated requests to leave the opposing team’s tent before pulling out a knife and turning a teenage argument into an episode of “Law & Order: Critical Race Unit.”

Naturally, race hustler activists immediately clarified that the real victim here was the guy holding the knife.

Dallas activist and Next Generation Action Network founder Dominique Alexander condemned the verdict as “flawed” and “unjust,” warning that “Black America should be very upset about what went on today.”

According to Alexander, the conviction proves that “black lives do not matter in the criminal justice system,” apparently because juries are now expecting people not to stab other people to death at school sporting events.

Alexander also insisted he was not “playing the race card,” moments before unfolding the race card, laminating it, and slamming it onto the table hard enough to crack the wood.

Meanwhile, self-proclaimed “Prince of Pan-Africanism” Dr. Umar Johnson compared the case to the Dred Scott decision because apparently every criminal conviction involving a black defendant is now legally equivalent to antebellum slavery.

Johnson declared on Instagram that Anthony had been “lynched by an all-white jury,” despite the inconvenient detail that the case involved a public trial, defense attorneys, evidence, witnesses, and significantly fewer ropes than most lynchings historically featured.

Celebrity race hustler attorney Ben Crump also weighed in, saying the case raises “hard questions about fairness, justice, and whose actions earn the benefit of understanding.”

Many observers agreed the question was indeed difficult, particularly the part where one teenager stabbed another teenager in the chest and then activists spent months explaining why society should be more understanding about it.

CNN contributor Areva Martin argued the verdict “raises questions” and predicted appeals related to the exclusion of black jurors.

“Faith in our courts requires more than a conviction or an acquittal,” Martin said. “It requires confidence that every defendant was afforded a fair trial.”

Critics noted that the defendant did, in fact, receive a fair trial, complete with attorneys, evidence review, witness testimony, and the radical legal principle that murder is generally frowned upon.

Martin also defended Anthony’s actions by suggesting he feared for his life, despite testimony that Metcalf explicitly said he did not want to fight him.

Legal scholars confirmed this marks the first known case where hearing “I don’t want to fight” was interpreted as an imminent threat requiring immediate stabbing.

Not every black commentator joined the outrage parade, however. Judge Glenda Hatchett said she saw no “basis for self-defense” and questioned why Anthony simply didn’t leave the tent when asked.

“He was not supposed to be in the tent,” Hatchett said. “He was asked to leave the tent. Why not just leave the tent?”

Civil rights leaders across the country immediately condemned Hatchett for recklessly introducing personal responsibility into the conversation.

BREAKING: Jury reached a verdict in the Karmelo Anthony murder trial

Anthony is now facing life in prison.

A Collin County, Texas jury on Tuesday found 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony guilty of murdering 17-year-old high school athlete Austin Metcalf, bringing an end to one of the most closely watched murder trials in the country.

Anthony, who was 17 at the time of the killing, was tried as an adult. He now faces anywhere from five years to life in prison after being convicted of first-degree murder.

Just before the verdict was read, CBS reporter J.D. Miles noted that more than two dozen deputies had been stationed outside the courtroom as tensions mounted. A crowd gathered outside the courthouse chanting, “Free Karmelo.”

The case exploded into the national spotlight after Anthony, who is black, fatally stabbed Metcalf, who was white, during a track event in Frisco, Texas in April 2025. The story gained traction not only because of the circumstances surrounding the killing, but because much of the corporate press seemed strangely uninterested in covering it. Had the racial dynamics been reversed, everyone knows the media cycle would have looked very different.

The trial itself moved quickly. Jury selection began June 1 and the proceedings wrapped in just nine days. Throughout the trial, prosecutors presented video footage and witness testimony showing Anthony initiated the confrontation with Metcalf and that deadly force was not justified. Even testimony from defense witnesses undercut the self-defense narrative pushed by Anthony’s legal team.

Anthony notably declined to testify in his own defense.

The racial narrative promoted by Anthony’s family also fell apart once witnesses took the stand. Several black teenage witnesses called by the prosecution testified that Anthony was in the wrong and described Metcalf as a respected friend and leader.

One of the most emotional moments came when a young male witness who knew both teens broke down in tears while describing the killing.

“That was my brother, that was my brother that got stabbed,” he said.

Investigative journalist Sarah Fields, who attended the trial, reported that the witness was directly asked whether the case was about race.

“No,” the teen responded. “Austin was a leader and he protected us.”

Video evidence further dismantled claims that Anthony had been cornered or threatened by a mob. Footage showed Metcalf confronting Anthony alone. According to witness testimony, Metcalf explicitly told Anthony he was not going to fight him.

Meanwhile, supporters of Anthony have maintained a presence outside the courthouse since the start of the trial, with some making inflammatory racial remarks and publicly attacking the victim. Authorities increased security around the courthouse early Tuesday morning amid concerns about possible unrest following the verdict.

Black activist who worked with Cori Bush is now spokesperson for track star's admitted murderer

This story’s a doozy: a 17-year-old kid, Karmelo Anthony, is accused of stabbing Frisco, Texas, track star Austin Metcalf to death. Now, the family’s mouthpiece, Minister Dominique Alexander, is stirring up a storm, and this guy’s got a rap sheet longer than a CVS receipt and ties to defund-the-police darling Cori Bush. Buckle up.

Alexander, a Dallas-based activist who’s all about slashing police budgets, is front and center for the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), rallying hard for Anthony and his family. NGAN’s out here posting on X like it’s their full-time job: “The Next Generation Action Network is currently working with the Anthony family to get the bond processed and will keep the community updated regarding his release,” they said after Anthony’s bond dropped from a cool $1 million to $250,000. “We want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming support you have shown. This is just the beginning of a long legal journey, and we will continue to stand strong in defense of Karmelo’s rights.” Sounds like they’re ready to fight this one to the end.

But things got spicy at a Thursday press conference when Alexander went off on Metcalf’s dad, calling him a “disrespect to the dignity of his son” for crashing the event uninvited. “That was disrespectful and just shows you all the character,” Alexander fumed. “He was not invited. He knows that it’s inappropriate to be near this family, but he did it. So, I say to people, actions speak louder than words.” Bold move, slamming a grieving father. That clip blew up online, and the internet sleuths didn’t waste time digging into Alexander’s past. Spoiler: it’s not pretty.

Fox News Digital and others have laid it bare—Alexander’s been in and out of trouble for years. We’re talking a felony family violence charge in 2019, where his longtime partner, Keyaira Saunders, told cops he shoved and tried to strangle her, per NBC 5 DFW. She later dropped the charges and called out the Dallas police, but the stink of that lingered. Then there’s a 2021 guilty plea for felony theft, landing him two days in jail, according to Dallas Express. Alexander played the victim on Facebook: “After four years of this hanging over my head, I decided to avoid a jury trial in a Trump County that wouldn’t have given me a fair shot at all.” Oh, and in 2016, he did two years for violating probation, Fox 10 Phoenix reported.

But the real gut-punch? A 2009 Dallas Observer report says Alexander was arrested for allegedly causing serious head injuries to his then-girlfriend’s two-year-old son while babysitting. He claimed the kid fell off a couch, but the doc wasn’t buying it: “The severity of his injuries is not consistent with rolling off the couch,” the investigating officer quoted the doctor. “The injuries are acute and likely occurred around the time that [the child] started to have symptoms (like being unresponsive.) Without more adequate history of trauma, complainant’s injuries are more consistent with abusive head trauma and child physical abuse.” Alexander reportedly admitted to shaking the kid, got slapped with a first-degree felony, and then racked up more charges for forging a check, leading cops on a high-speed chase, and stealing a car. This guy’s a walking rap sheet.

On top of that, Alexander’s been cozy with former Squad Rep. Cori Bush, the defund-the-police poster child who got the boot in her 2024 Democratic primary. His X and Facebook are a love letter to Bush’s 2020 and 2022 campaigns. Bush herself gushed about Alexander and NGAN in 2020, praising their “perseverance & dedication” and saying their “[commitment] to the work” is “unmatched.” She even tweeted in 2019: “Thanks to Minister [Dominique Alexander] & @NextGenAction for your tireless work & bravery.” 

In 2021, Alexander was over the moon, posting a pic with Bush as she was sworn into Congress, clutching NGAN’s Shirley Chisholm Award. “Last year, I had the honor of seeing history in the making by seeing this beautiful black queen [Cori Bush] elected to Congress,” he wrote. “I am so proud of her as an actual frontline protester. We saw her yesterday sacrifice for millions facing eviction in America, our Movement Congresswoman.”

NGAN kept the Bush train rolling, posting in 2023 about standing with her and “over 300 organizations nationwide to demand reparations in America.” When Bush lost her primary, NGAN cried foul, blaming AIPAC and demanding Citizens United be “overturned.” And when Bush faced heat, NGAN had her back: “Thank you for your service to our community and our country. The attacks that you are currently experiencing is baseless. In the people support, making sure you are okay and safe to serve,” they posted in 2024. “We live in a country that does not want to address white supremacy.” Subtle.

Alexander’s also all-in on defunding the police. In 2022, he posted on X: “We can defund Education; We can defund social services; we can defund Recreation centers & libraries. ‘WE CAN DEFUND THE POLICE.’ End of story - Fund Our Communities.” During the 2020 George Floyd protests, NGAN demanded $100 million be cut from the Dallas Police Department’s budget: “After 75 days of protest, the
@DallasCityMgr is increasing the [Dallas Police Department] budget. We will Defund Dallas Police Department we want a 100,000,000 from Dallas Police.”

And if that’s not enough, Alexander’s got a soft spot for Nation of Islam’s Louis Farrakhan, despite the guy’s track record of antisemitic rants, like calling Jews “termites.” Alexander clapped back at CNN’s Jake Tapper on X: “Please get it correct the Honorable Minister@LouisFarrakhan is the name please put some respect on his name.” 

He even wished Farrakhan a “Happy 83rd Birthday” with a prayer for blessings. Yikes.

Let's not kid ourselves, G_d never blessed that Jew-hating piece of human excrement.

So here we are: a teen accused of murder, a grieving family, and an activist with a shady past and a megaphone, tied to a defund-the-police icon and cheering for a controversial figure.
