Geert Wilders Blows Up Dutch Government Coalition

A year ago, Geert Wilders, the firebrand Dutch populist, stood triumphant after his Freedom Party’s electoral surge. He traded his shot at the premiership to cobble together a coalition, believing he’d aligned the stars to dismantle what he saw as the European Union’s ruinous edicts, in large part, its immigration mandates.

In July 2024, a government including Wilders’ PVV took office, igniting hope across Europe that the progressive tide was receding. “The Netherlands’ new cabinet was sworn in Tuesday,” we were told, marking “the first time that Geert Wilders’ far-right party became a part of the Dutch government.”

A hard-right shift, the sharpest in decades, promised to choke off migration and demand an opt-out from the EU’s border policies.

This wasn’t just a Dutch affair. Migration has become Europe’s obsession, fueling nationalist and far-right ascents from Paris to Berlin. Marine Le Pen’s National Rally stormed France’s first round of voting, only to be kneecapped in the second by the usual establishment maneuvers.

Germany’s hard-right, despite soaring to second place in votes and public favor, faced similar sabotage. The pattern is clear: the people’s will, expressed at the ballot, is too often smothered by the elites’ machinations.

Wilders, undeterred, raged against the bureaucratic sclerosis stifling his promised revolution. His coalition scored one defiant victory, spitting in the eye of Brussels’ high priestess, Ursula von der Leyen. When she came peddling her multibillion-euro European defense fund, the Dutch parliament, by a razor-thin 73-71 vote, told her to find other fools to bankroll it. The motion, sparked by the right-wing JA21 and backed by three coalition parties plus the opposition Socialists, wasn’t binding, but it was a middle finger to the EU’s grandees. “The Netherlands’ parliament on Tuesday narrowly voted against a multibillion-euro European Union defense plan,” the reports noted, leaving von der Leyen’s scheme wobbling.

Yet, for all the bluster, the battle always circled back to immigration, the issue eroding the Dutch way of life.

On Tuesday morning, Wilders detonated his own government over it, pulling his five PVV ministers from the coalition. “No signature for our asylum plans. No changes to the [coalition] agreement. PVV is leaving the coalition,” he declared on X, plunging The Hague into chaos. The government, a fragile alliance of Wilders’ PVV, the populist Farmer-Citizens Movement, the centrist New Social Contract, and the liberal VVD, had been teetering.

Crisis talks collapsed when Wilders demanded immediate commitment to his “ten-point plan” on asylum, including a radical proposal to “close the borders to asylum-seekers.” His partners balked. “The PVV promised voters the strictest asylum policy ever,” Wilders told reporters, his voice taut with conviction. “I had no choice but to say: We rescind support for this Cabinet.”

And so, the Dutch experiment in defying the EU’s open-borders dogma lies in ruins, not for lack of will, but for the stubborn resistance of a system that bends only to break those who challenge it. Wilders’ gambit, like those of his populist kin across the continent, exposes the chasm between the voters’ cries and the elites’ intransigence.

The fight, it seems, is far from over.

Netherlands sentences jihadis to prison who called for murder of Geert Wilders

The Dutch government finally grew a set when sentencing a pair of Pakistanis to prison who called for the murder of PVV leader Geert Wilders. The court in The Hague sentenced the Islamists to prison terms of fourteen and four years.

The Public Prosecution Service has called for the most severe sentence for Muhammad Ashraf Asif Jalali, a 56-year-old spiritual leader. The other individual convicted is Saad Hussain Rizvi, a 29-year-old who leads the extremist party Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP).

It is totally reasonable to assume that Jalali's jihadis, [say that 3 times fast] that is, his followers, took his calls for murder seriously. He even went so far as to make his statements in English and addressed an international audience because the more who are ready to kill Wilders for the sake of Islam, the better the chances of success.

The court considers these calls to be a crime with a terrorist objective, rather than a religious, religion of peace objective because the court is capable of seeing through the bull crap.

Rizvi was partly acquitted of a crime related to terrorism. The court concluded that there wasn't enough evidence to prove this was Rizvi's intention. Consequently, Rizvi was sentenced to four years in prison, despite the Public Prosecution Service having demanded six years.

Neither Jalali nor Rizvi were physically present in court as the Netherlands has no extradition treaty with Pakistan. The chance that they will serve their sentences is as likely as Kamala Harris getting struck by lightning on her way to the debate.

Wilders himself was present in court.

In 2018, Wilders announced that he wanted to hold a cartoon contest in the House of Representatives, in which people could win 10,000 dollars with a cartoon about the prophet Mohammed. The contest led to much outrage in the Islamic world, especially in Pakistan because, while Mohammed is depicted much like a cartoon character who took a flying horse to heaven to chew the fat with Allah, Muslims kill people who depict him in that way [see Charlie Hebdo, Jan. 2015].

Pakistan has very strict laws on blasphemy, gays, lesbians, Jews, Hindus, Christians, atheists, apostates, women who show too much skin, women who answer back their husbands, adultery, rape, and all non-Sunni Muslims.

So don't even question Islam nor the behavior of the pedophile who led it in battle for his booty and myriad wives, one who became so when she was six.

60 percent of French population don't feel safe anywhere

The majority of French people aren't trusting of their nation's security situation with a full 60 percent saying they no longer feel safe anywhere.

In a IFOP-FIDUCIAL poll, it found that 93 percent of the French believe the threat of future terror attacks is high; and 71 percent feel that security in France has worsened over the last five years.

Broadly speaking, 59 percent said they didn't feel safe anywhere, with about 24 percent saying they "strongly agree" with the statement.

The survey also discussed security measures and it found that 69 percent believe the police and gendarmerie are understaffed. It also found that the French overwhelmingly have a positive view of law enforcement.

A small majority (55 percent) wold like France out of the European Union's open borders Schengen zone.

A majority of French nationals (fully 88 percent) believe France should deport foreigners sentenced to prison for serious crimes, and 84 percent want the increase in prison places.

The French found Marine Le Pen to be judged the candidate with the best policies in keeping people and property safe (32 percent) and in the fight against Islamic extremism (35 percent).

With the loss of Geert Wilders for Prime Minister of the Netherlands, and his strong stance on Islamic terrorism, it appears that people have gone back to the thinking of 9-10, not 9-11. If France has not gone back, Le Pen has an excellent chance of winning the election.

The Dutch election results defined

Netherlands -- The Freedom Party (PVV) leader Geert Wilders was in the lead a week ago in the polls but disappointed as voting ended Wednesday evening. His party gained 5 seats but still finished second to Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Wilders is the anti-Islam, "ban the Koran" candidate. His short film, Fitna, shows how the Koran motivates followers to hate all those who violate Islamic teaching. He has received death threats for making the film, which proves the film's premise.

Rutte will now have the chance to form a coalition and govern for a third term. He hailed the election as "an evening in which the Netherlands after Brexit, after the American elections said 'Stop' to the wrong kind of populism."

Let's see in the next several years if indeed, Trump's populism is 'the wrong kind'--I suspect the Netherlands, like France and Germany, is going to find itself having an increase in Islamization and concomitant problems as a result.

The election results gave 33 seats to the (Rutte, center-right) VVD; 20 seats to the (Wilders, right) PVV; 19 seats each to the CDA and D66.

These results indicate that, although there was support from a sizable minority, Wilders was unable to grab a larger base of support for his platform which included banning the Koran and shutting down all mosques and madrassas (Islamic schools) as well as ending all immigration from Muslim countries.

Many see Wilders' proposal as an attack against all Muslims rather than an attack on the ideology of Islam and protectionist actions against a religion that calls for jihad against non-believers.

Also, there are those who believe that the problem with Islamic extremism cannot be remedied without either destroying Islam completely or at the very least, banishing it from Western society.

Dutch prepare for election with increased nationalism

Geert Wilders
Amsterdam -- The Dutch election on Wednesday is intensifying feelings of nationalism in the land of the clogs and will be a test of how the country feels about Islamic immigration, to use a politically incorrect term. This comes after a rift with Turkey over the weekend.

Turkey wants to lobby Dutch Turks and have them support Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan by handing him sweeping power in a referendum in Turkey on April 16.

Geert Wilders, who's running on the Party For Freedom (PVV) wants to "de-Islamicise" the Netherlands. He's hoping the clashes between Turkish-Dutch protesters and the police, and the accusations made by Turkey of Dutch "fascism" will increase his chances of winning the election.

Unfortunately, Wilders' PVV has as much chance of forming a government, given the splintered party landscape, as Donald Trump had of winning the presidency. Everyone thinks Wilders will probably lose, just as people thought that Trump also would lose.

Like American leftists, whose only hope for winning is to use identity politics, other Dutch parties have ruled out a coalition with a party they view as racist.

France is a different story with far-right Marine Le Pen ahead in one poll. If she wins, there is a very good chance the French will pull out of the EU and curb immigration.

Germany too, with its Alternative for Germany right-wing, euroskeptic party, is probably going to win seats for the first time in the German federal parliament in September.

For now, the big question for the Dutch is whether the Turkey dispute will put Wilders in the driver's seat over Prime Minister Mark Rutte, whose cabinet banned Turkish ministers from holding a rally in the Netherlands.

A recent snap poll indicated a 3-seat boost for Rutte's VVD with 2 seats for Wilders' PVV in the 150-seat parliament.

Many believe Rutte's current hard line on Turkey is merely a political ploy to appeal to realists who see the problems with immigration and dissuade them from voting for Wilders.

The conservative group Christian Democrats (CDA) on Sunday urged Turkish immigrants to give up their dual nationality and integrate into Dutch culture. But the chances of that happening are about the same as a Muslim having his bar mitzvah at a mosque in Saudi Arabia.

Rutte and Wilders debated Monday with the main argument being how to stem immigration.

Rutte called Wilders' plan to close borders and mosques and ban the Koran as "fake solutions" and said "While we are focusing on the causes of the refugee crisis, you're wasting all your attention on your Koran police."

Wilders responded by accusing Rutte of providing better healthcare for immigrants than the Dutch themselves. "We need to chose for our own people, for our own parents, and not for the asylum seekers. You are not the prime minister of the Netherlands, but of the foreigners."

While the latest Reuters poll puts Rutte's VVD at 16.2 percent, Wilders' PVV at 13.4 percent, and the CDA at 12.5 percent, it's possible that we may see the 'Trump Effect' on the election: people who say they're voting for Rutte or the CDA because they're uncomfortable saying they're actually voting for Wilders.  Tomorrow will tell.

With such a close margin between parties, any of them could win, but with what happened on Monday when Erdogan threatened legal action against the Dutch, opinion polls would be unreliable as viewpoints of the conflict changes. Wilders actually has a shot--but it's a long shot.

Geert Wilders most popular among highly educated, study shows

A new Dutch study by labor union De Unie using 3,781 respondents has found that twelve percent said they would be voting for Geert Wilders' Party for Freedom (PPV).

In comparison, the second runner-up was the current party in power, the Tory party (VVD) at nine percent.

The chairman of De Unie Reinier Castelein stated:
"The mantra of the PVV being the party for angry uneducated white men has definitely been undone by this study. The PVV's popularity is mostly associated with anti-Islamic sentiments, but these results show a different cause, being an overall aversion of the current day political elite . . . There's a huge amount of discontent, also under mid-level and higher educated members. Trust in politics is low, it's elitist and distant."
The national election will be held on the Ides of March and Geert Wilders' Party for Freedom is still leading in the polls, although there was a slight decline from 32 to 30 seats. The VVD has 24 seats.

People in the U.S. who follow Geert Wilders know that he is a polarizing figure who is outspoken about sharia law and Islam in general. His 2008 film Fitna regarding his views on Islam gained international attention.

He is also a staunch supporter of Israel which, in itself, is unfortunately controversial.

Let's hope he wins the election. The Netherlands needs to have a leader who knows a thing or two about the religion of peace.

Trump and the freaking out of the EU

During Obama's excruciatingly long term in office, Europe's anti-American sentiment was on a slight decline as he steered a course left and further left on a course of globalism rather than nationalism.

With the Trump election victory for the presidency, Europe's media has attacked our President-elect with a virulence last seen in the George W. Bush presidency. European TV, radio and print media have attacked Trump with editorial rage and venom over the election outcome.

Their criticism shows a deep-rooted hatred for the United States and the American voters who decided that it was time to "drain the swamp," restore our military strength and boost our economy.

Their anti-American sentiments will likely be an omnipresent aspect of our relations while Trump is president.

While EU opinion-manipulators say that Trump allegedly poses a threat to global order, the truth is, he is being handed a world significantly more insecure, chaotic and dangerous than it was when Barack Hussein Obama took the American helm in 2009, in spite of him claiming otherwise.

The global disorder came from a lack of America leading from the front, rather than from behind both home and abroad. Ongoing feeble decisions by Obama such as reducing our global military influence have created geopolitical power vacuums. Now they're being filled by countries and Islamic ideologies that are dangerously hostile to Western interests and values.

Since Obama has been president, China, Russia, North Korea, Iran and Islamic extremism have challenged us, mostly with impunity. Obama does nothing but talk, and after eight years of this anemic approach, they laugh at us and despise us. Iran even tests our limits in the Gulf of Hormuz.

While European leaders have remained generally silent about Obama's foreign policy failures, they are now attacking Trump for pledging to "make America great again." It's clear they don't have our best interests in mind.

Germany, a country we helped to rebuild after WW2 with the Marshall Plan, is the most vocal in Europe's anti-Americanism. For seventy years we have spent hundreds of millions of US dollars annually to guarantee Germany's security and all they had to do was honor a NATO pledge to spend a minimum of 2% of GDP on defense spending. In 2015, they spent only 1.16% of GDP and 1.15% this year. And German officials are angry that Trump is asking them to pay their fair share for their own defense!

Where have we heard the term fair share before? Hmmm.

In Germany, Der Spiegel one of Europe's largest-circulation news magazines, published a cover with a giant meteor in the shape of Trump's head careening toward Earth. The headline reads: "The End of the World (As We Know It). The issue features over 50 pages of anti-Trump propaganda.

One article by Dirk Kurbjuweit, "One-Hundred Years of Fear: America Has Abdicated Its Leadership of the West" said:
"For 100 years, the United States was the leader of the free world. With the election of Donald Trump, American has now abdicated that role. It is time for Europe, and Angela Merkel, to step into the void . . .
"Trump, who wants nothing to do with globalization; Trump, who preaches American nationalism, isolation, partial withdrawal from world trade and zero responsibility for a global problem like climate change . . .
"We now face emptiness--fear of the void. What will happen to the West, to Europe, to Germany without the United States as its leading power?"

In another article entitled "Trump's Victory Ushers in Dangerous Instability" Roland Nelles wrote:
"It really happened. He did it. Donald Trump proved all experts wrong . . . A man who . . . preaches hate and snubs America's most important partners will run the most powerful country on Earth. It is a political catastrophe . . . "
An so on.

But not all European politicians felt the same. Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders, an outspoken critic of radical Islam wrote: "America has just liberated itself from political correctness. The American people expressed their desire to remain a free and democratic people. Now it is time for Europe. We can and will do the same!"

I think Wilders said it best.

We need a new direction--the old direction--that will put us back on course.

2 Muslim immigrants attempt to murder 9 year old girl

Halifax, Canada -- a mother, referred to as Missy, told the Herald that, "There has always been some fighting and bickering going on at the school, but never to this degree."

Ya think?

Missy's daughter, who attends Chebucto Heights Elementary School was "choked on Monday and Thursday last week by two refugee boys," and "a chain was used on both occasions."

Missy said that one of the boys yelled: "Muslims rule the world," as he choked her daughter.

The kids must've been real cute because there was no disciplinary actions taken. Hell, it's Canada--they could have forced the little jerks to play hockey with the high schoolers as punishment.

The Halifax Regional School Board said the refugees began registering at Chebucto Heights back in mid-February. Now there are 253 little darling refugee students enrolled in the region and another 71 on the waiting list on settlement of permanent housing.

Another mother said her daughter begs to stay home from school after she was "slapped after she and a classmate disagreed in the schoolyard."

Perhaps the disagreement was over who drew a better likeness of the prophet of Islam.

But seriously, the very idea that children would do such a thing while saying that Muslims will rule the world has to be something they are being taught by someone, most likely their parents or siblings who get it from their parents.

The most troubling thing, however, is that nothing is being done about it in Canada, nor in the United States.

And while Donald Trump criticized Pamela Geller for exercising her First Amendment rights with the Draw Muhammad contest, he may be our only hope to stave off the proposed infiltration of Muslims into the country.

If you want to get an idea of how Islam sees the West, check out my previous post here and watch the movie Fitna by Geert Wilders. It's only 17 minutes long and well worth your time if you want to understand Islam from the Muslim's point of view that doesn't get much publicity.

BDS Movement is now "free speech" in the land of wooden heads

The Dutch have always been known for their wooden shoes; now some of their politicians are trying to be known for their wooden heads.

The Netherlands has just declared the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement against Israel to be free speech. But the Geert Wilders movie, Fitna, that speaks out against the Koran's teachings, is hate speech. Wilders has since been exonerated for the movie, but had to appear in court and could have gone to prison for many years for exercising his free speech.

I included the video for you to come to your own conclusions.

"Statements of meetings concerning BDS are protected by freedom of expression and freedom of assembly, as enshrined in the Dutch Constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights," said [Dutch Foreign Minister Bert] Koenders on Thursday.

Israel is obviously upset and [Israeli] Foreign Ministry Spokesman Emmanuel Nachsbon told the Jerusalem Post that there had to be limits on the notion of free speech.

"Once free speech becomes a pretext for allowing hate speech, then it is no longer legitimate," Nachsbon said.

I support free speech but I see differences in the movie Fitna and the BDS movement.

The movie uses the actual speech of Islamic scripture and Muslim speakers as well as photography to make its point. The BDS movement is attempting to bankrupt a country that will effect the lives of its inhabitants, specifically Jews, because Islamic scripture is very clearly anti-Semitic. Muslims are literally called upon to hate and kill the Jews. The BDS movement is just a peaceful beginning to that process.

If you can watch Fitna without seeing how Islam views its own superiority and Jew-hatred, then nothing can help you change your mind.
