Lying Liars

It's estimated that over 136,000 people have died since the Syrian revolution began in 2011. Assad still hasn't turned over his stash of chemical weapons and when Jay Carney was confronted about this by Ed Henry of Fox News, Carney admitted that Assad has certainly "blown some deadlines."

So, while Assad has blown some deadlines, we have Jay Carney blowing some smoke in places where smoke should not be blown.

Can you recall the last time Carney has actually answered a question directly, factually, and honestly? I honestly cannot. The same goes for Obama and his entire administration.

Kiev is Burning, Obama's Not Available

Kiev is on fire. At the time of this writing, 26 people are confirmed dead, and others may have been trapped in a burning building. This is an anti-government protest specifically aimed at Vladimir Putin and the Obama administration is calling on Viktor Yanukovych, the Ukraine President, and his government to calm things down. Unfortunately, things aren't as serious to President Obama as they seem to be to the protesters because he did not personally intervene, but had Joe Biden and John Kerry do so.

Kerry "shares the grave concerns expressed by Vice-President Biden directly to President Yanukovych today regarding the unacceptable violence on the streets of Kiev," said Jen Psaki, the Obama State Department spokesperson and Obama apologist. "Ukraine's deep divisions will not be healed by spilling more innocent blood."

Yesterday, Biden called the Ukrainian president to express his concerns. (Obama was busy at the time, and he was comfortable knowing that Biden had his "6.") He asked Yanni, as his friends call him, to pull back government forces and address the legitimate complaints of the protesters and called for political reform. Biden added that the US is committed to supporting peaceful solutions that the people of Ukraine desire.

In spite of the fact that yesterday's violence was the deadliest in about three months, it still wasn't enough to drag Obama away from doing whatever he does when he's being the "coolest POTUS ever." Let's face it, Obama doesn't know what he's doing and when the going gets tough, he gets going elsewhere.

This isn't leading from behind; this is leading with his behind.

No More Free Rides

If you get something for free, you place less value on it than you would if you had to pay for it. This is just simple, common sense. So what makes anyone think that welfare and other entitlements is a good thing?

When I worked as a psychotherapist in New York City, a substantial number of the patients that came to the clinic were Medicaid recipients. They were seen once weekly and were given ongoing appointment schedules. If they had to cancel, they were asked to give the clinic at least 24 hour notice so that we could use their timeslots effectively. But cancelling appropriately was as rare as a liberal using facts to make decisions rather than feelings. Patients who paid out of pocket, or who had coverage through their employer (those with jobs often had coverage), were much more dependable when it came to showing up for session and for cancelling when necessary.

Fee for service therapists at the clinic only got paid when they actually had a patient session. There was no penalty for Medicaid patients not calling in to cancel--we call them "no shows," and this had become an ongoing problem. The situation became one in which the therapist was dependent upon the mental patient to do the right thing and allow a scheduling in the open timeslot.

Entitlements like Medicaid, Food Stamps, and other programs that give away free stuff is fine and necessary, but it is all too easy to use these programs to create strong dependency and a nanny state. (I am not referring to Social Security--we've paid into that.) Moreover, in the case of psychotherapy, where clients pay nothing for treatment, there is a devaluing of treatment when it's free. I believe there should be a small penalty for being a "no show" and the patient must pay it by the following visit or be terminated from treatment.

The government has become too much like a rewarding parent, or Santa Claus. If you want to make people responsible adults, you need to hold them accountable for their actions. No more free rides. No more Obama phones. It's time for our nation to put on their big boy pants.

Sebelius Strong Arming

As you know, the Obamacare roll-out has been as successful as Solyndra and getting answers about Benghazi. Obama's minions are under the gun and this is especially true for Kathleen Sebelius, the figurehead of HHS, or as it's laughingly called, Health and Human Services.

Sebelius is refusing to answer the question as to whether or not she's still going around to companies with her hand out to support this chameleon law, a law that has been "tweaked" (as opposed to twerked) over 30 times. Of course, this is unconstitutional, but the Constitution is an old document, according to Obama and many leftists of late.

The problem is serious. The HHS is the regulator of Johnson & Johnson, a company held by the Robert Wood Johnson company. Sebelius is going to this company asking them for money--a company she can make trouble for via an HHS audit--and it places them in a peculiar situation. Worse, it's illegal for Sebelius to do it in the first place because it's an obvious conflict of interest. It isn't like other instruments of government have tried to make trouble for conservative groups, right? Oh wait, I forgot about the IRS and what they are doing with the Tea Party organizations applying for 501(c) 3 status; after years, they're still waiting while all of the Democratic affiliated organizations got their status.

But I digress.

We all know Obamacare is a mess; Sebelius has a big load on her plate (picture what I'm saying here) and now she even has to defend why Obamacare enrollees have no avenue of appeal regarding unfavorable health care determinations. Maybe the administration will say "It only impacts a very small portion of the huge population enrolled in the program," implying that 22,000 people don't count all that much, but it also shows a lack of clarity in the planning of this "law."

I watch Fox News and I hear a lot of Republicans complaining. That seems to be our national sport. What are we going to do about it, our lawmakers, that is? It's time to do something about this lawless president but congress needs to act.

Obama's New Hitmen

The Obama administration (or regime, take your pick), is now using the IRS for political purposes. He is now using this already messed up branch of government to oversee businesses. Companies must now swear that if they lay off any workers that  they are not doing it due to Obamacare. Of course, this comes to us by the man who would be king.

In a country that has become great because of our freedoms and free enterprise, this administration is looking to impose itself into what used to be the free market by dictating what a company can and cannot do in order to ensure its own survival. The purpose of the employer mandate the administration released on February 10th was to make the compliance process easier for employers. The 227 page document had a requirement, hidden on pages 125-126 where employers had to swear, under penalty of perjury, that they haven't scaled down the number of employees or cut back hours to protect themselves from the costs of Obamacare.

The IRS is already under investigation (albeit by a big Obama campaign donor) for its unlawful practice of political bias toward the left, and now the left wants the IRS to come down hard on employers to do business their way. It's going to hurt them and perhaps destroy them, but it seems that Obama doesn't give a rat's butt--his signature legislation is more important than the people it supposedly was written to serve.

A significant percentage of America doesn't want Obamacare. Insofar as the "Affordable Care Act" is concerned, it is neither affordable and the government doesn't really care. The only accurate thing is that it is an act, one perpetrated on the American people.

Maybe it's time for all of us to write to our representatives and tell them how we feel. Mine, unfortunately, is Chuck "Mega-Nostrils" Schumer. He makes Karl Marx look like Rand Paul. But perhaps your senators and representatives will realize what a disaster Obamacare is.

NBC PC Programming

Forget al Qaeda, the real terrorists are Hispanic assassins and European terrorists who want to destroy the world. Muslims are never seen as bad guys, there are no beheadings, stonings or anti-Semitic rants, at least that's the way NBC sees modern day terrorism as depicted on their show called Chuck. The series ran from 2007 to 2012.

In spite of this oversight, I really like the show--I've been watching it on Netflix and I'm hooked.

The series was created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak and starred Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, and Adam Baldwin (no relation to the brothers Baldwin). Baldwin plays John Casey, a tough NSA agent who, along with agent Sarah Walker (Strahovski), are assigned to protect Chuck Bartowski (Levi), who is the "intersect"--a guy with a computer imprinted in his brain. The computer is a merge of the CIA`s entire database, which the bad guys try to obtain by capturing Chuck.

While the episodes are predictable, they're still fun to watch. Most people don't get killed, but there is a lot of gun-pointing and threats of death. It's nothing like real terrorism where American ambassadors can get killed by a group of YouTube critics with RPGs and mortars, or when Israeli children are murdered by Palestinian Muslims with an axe to grind with the Jews. No, Chuck is nothing like real life, but like I said, it is fun and worth seeing if you enjoy predictable suspense (which I do).

In this age of political correctness, even when people scream "Allahu Akbar" and begin shooting their co-workers, we must call it "workplace violence," lest we be called a racist. We've even bought into the idea that religion is the same thing as race.

If you'd like to learn more about Islamic terrorism, television is not the way to go. Join the military or become a real CIA agent.

My latest novel, Jihad Joe, is about Islamic terrorism and suspense.  In it I challenge the precepts of the religion through my protagonist, Zed Nill, a journalist, captured by terrorists and destined to be killed if the American President refuses to release three Gitmo prisoners.  Of course, American policy demands we never give in to terrorists, and for Zed, the clock is ticking.

It's Kerry's Turn in the Barrel

Hamid Karzai, POA (as opposed to POTUS) released 65 scum-sucking jihadists today from prison in Afghanistan. As the women-hating, Jew-hating, Christian-hating, America-hating, non-Muslim-hating men from the religion of peace left the prison, they laughed like a bunch of schoolboys on a new road to adventure.

Why Bob Costas is an Idiot

Bob Costas they say, is suffering from pink eye, but I believe it may be more serious than that; I'd say he has a case of pinko. He spoke glowingly of Vladimir Putin and it became very clear that he, Costas, should stick to sports broadcasting and stay as far away from actual politics and history as possible. He's either an idiot or a communist.

You remember Mikhail Gorbachev and glasnost. Well, glasnost was not originated by Gorby to describe how he led Russia "out of its totalitarian state and to democracy, to freedom, to openness" to quote his words (Disinformation by Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa and Ronald Rychlak, p. 14). Glasnost is deception and an art perfected by Russian rulers. Even George W. Bush was fooled by Putin when, in 2001, at the end of the Slovenia summit he said of Putin: "I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy" (p.14). Bush might have added: "so will you carry me across the stream, Mr. Scorpion?"
