Trump on abortion is an abortion: called DeSantis' abortion ban a "terrible mistake"

Let's get one thing clear, if Donald Trump gets the Republican nomination he will get my vote. There is no Democrat, especially the houseplant known as Joe Biden, who should be president. But this doesn't mean that I agree with Trump on every issue--and anyone who does is suffering from cognitive dissonance.

Conservatives, that is, real conservatives, believe in the sanctity of life. People on the left believe in the sanctity of the Party and would vote for a turd if it was shaped like a "D" and running for office, which in some cases it does.

Former President Trump is refusing to commit to national abortion restrictions and said that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' signing of a 6-week ban on abortion is a "terrible mistake."

I respectfully disagree as do most conservatives.

Trump appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" where he refused to say if he'd support a federal ban on the killing of babies in the womb or shortly after their exit.

He said he could “live with” the procedure being banned by individual states or nationwide through federal action, though he said “from a legal standpoint, I think it’s probably better” to be handled at the state level. That's not much different from people like the late New York Gov. Mario Cuomo (D) saying that as a Catholic, he is against abortion personally, but as a public servant he supports the procedure.

Sorry, the killing of the innocent unborn is immoral and should have no boundaries. Cuomo is saying that he is willing to sacrifice his morals for the will of his constituents.

Specifically discussing the bill DeSantis signed which bans abortions before many women even know they're pregnant, Trump said,  “I think what he did is a terrible thing and a terrible mistake.”

Well, it may be a mistake for DeSantis in an attempt to grab the independent vote and the vote of Democrats unimpressed by the non-sentient person currently in the White House, but it's a clear indication that DeSantis, like him or not, stands by his principles and his own Christian faith.

DeSantis posted on X regarding Trump:
“If you want to appease Democrats, here’s your guy. If you want to defeat the Democrats in 2024, (DeSantis) is the only choice.”
That may or may not be true, but if you didn't see that the gloves were off between these two, it's obvious now,

A campaign spokesman, Andrew Romeo, distributed to reporters a roundup of conservative groups criticizing Trump and accused him of repeatedly compromising with Democrats.

“Republicans across the country know that Ron DeSantis will never back down,” Romeo said.

“We’re at a moment where we need a human rights advocate, someone who is dedicated to saving the lives of children and serving mothers in need. Every single candidate should be clear on how they plan to do that,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.

I will say again that if Donald Trump wins the GOP nomination, which is very likely, he will get my vote. He has done a number of remarkable things while in office, but I see DeSantis as the better candidate and the real Republican in spite of the fact that Trump referred to himself as “the most pro-life president in American history.” Trump gets credit for his three SCOTUS picks while in office, but DeSantis gets my vote in the primaries.

Ron takes lead over Don in early Iowa, NH polls

Although he has yet to declare his candidacy for the 2024 presidential primary race, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is outperforming former President Donald Trump in Iowa and New Hampshire, according to surveys conducted by top Republican firm Public Opinion Strategies. Both states have early voting so this is where voters in other states pay close attention.

The results of the surveys, which were provided to Axios, were conducted from March 21 to 23 for an outside client — not a candidate or super PAC. It found that DeSantis is ahead of Trump by eight points (45% to 37%) in Iowa and tied with Trump in New Hampshire (39% each).

The other candidates who have announced their intention to run, including Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and Mike Pence, are well-behind both DeSantis and Trump.

DeSantis had a significant advantage over Trump in the 'favorability' vs. unfavorability' category, where he rated 81% - 11% while Trump trailed him 74% - 24%. Haley's favorability/unfavorability was 60% - 19% and Pence's was 59% - 35%.

In the Granite State DeSantis' favorability rating was 77% - 15% while Trump's was 69% - 29%; Haley's was 54% - 23%; Pence was 50% - 43%.

In spite of DeSantis' high numbers, a significant number of Republicans said they didn't see him as "the best candidate to defeat Joe Biden," even though a box of dead bunnies has a higher intellectual capacity than the current alleged POTUS.

In New Hampshire, only 48% of respondents said DeSantis was the clear candidate to defeat the brain addled Biden, while only 46% thought Trump was more electable.

However, in Iowa, DeSantis fared better with 54% saying they believe him to be more electable than Biden; while Trump had 44% saying the same thing about the former president.

Similarly, 68% of Iowa Republicans said they believe DeSantis has a better temperament than Trump. Of those surveyed in New Hampshire, 71% agreed.

Things will likely change as they always do in time before the primaries, but once DeSantis announces his candidacy, which he almost certainly will, it should not surprise us to see blood in the water and changes in the numbers.

Socialist -1, Liar -1 in Kentucky-Oregon primaries

"Socialist Powah!"
Hillary Clinton spiked the football, danced in the end-zone, shouted to the world, "I won! I won!" but the play is up for review . . . well, unless Bernie Sanders asks for a recount, that is . . . which he won't because he doesn't know how to fight.

Hillary squeaked past Bernie in Kentucky with a majority of votes that was slightly more than the average number of people on the roof of a bus in New Delhi. She got 46.8%a to Bernie's 46.3% which is about 1,900 extra votes of the total 423,000 in the state.

But Bernie is like that rash that just won't go away and it's beginning to worry Hillary. She is going to win the nomination because yes, the fix is in, but she looks feeble as a candidate and is annoying as an itch when she yells her patented speeches to her loyal "feminist" followers.

"Oy say to the leadahship of the Democratic Party, open the daws, let the people in," Bernie said in his thick Brooklyn accent, hoping to change the rules to let him win the non-registered and illegal alien vote.

Sanders kicked Hillary's substantial butt in Oregon, which Hillary forgot to tweet about, although she remembered to tweet about her Kentucky "win." (It's still too close to call.)

"We just won Aregon, and we're going to win Califawnia," the Vermont socialist 74-year-old said to a crowd of Economics 101 dropouts. He vowed to "take our fight" to July's Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

The Sanders' win was his 21st in the election cycle and his 11th in the last 17 primary contests. It is rumored that Hillary is fuming and is considering hiring someone to "take care" of "the old fart."

The AP tally reports that both candidates received 27 of the 55 Democratic delegates and one delegate is to be given to the statewide winner. In Oregon, Sanders won at least 28 of the 61 Democratic delegates; Clinton won at least 24 and there are 9 delegates still outstanding.

The totals now stand with Clinton at 2,291; Sanders at 1,528. In order to clinch the nomination, Hillary must get a total of 2.383, and the way the nomination process is rigged, it's virtually a shoo-in for the Queen of Benghazi.

Donald Trump is champing at the bit.

Will Hill Stay or Will Hill Go

The question is on the minds of Democrats from all over the country: will Hillary Clinton have to go to prison for violating the Espionage Act, or will she be able to pardon herself as POTUS?

Okay, so that isn't really the question Democrats ask. They want to know why conservatives think that Hillary isn't special and deserves to be president. After all, look at all those accomplishment-miles she traveled as Secretary of State--it didn't matter that nothing much was actually gained by it.

Federal prosecutors are expecting to attempt interviewing the former First Lady of the Sexual Predator in order to hear her lie about the classified emails on her private server. They also want to know how her staff were involved with those emails.

In other words, prosecutors want to know if Clinton's aides were privy to her password (which was "HumaDoobieDoo") in order to access the emails and act as her private secretary by answering them.

The efforts to get her pear-shaped pantsuit into the interview by the Feds may take a few weeks to become reality as Hillary is an expert at ducking process servers, nor is she adverse to "making the problem disappear," if you know what I mean.

In any case, this may be the final part of the investigation but it will likely go on and on right through the primary season pitting an aged socialist who worked in the pornography business against a felon for the Democrats.

The GOP will be pitting a billionaire middle-aged egotist against a devout Constitutionalist who nobody in the Senate likes, and a stoop-shouldered RINO who makes people nervous with his karate chops when he speaks about his accomplishments and refuses to mention his liberal views on the Second Amendment, Common Core and national security.

FBI evidently confronted Eric "Boom Boom" Swalwell over the weekend and hoo boy

It has been a rough stretch for former Rep. Eric "Boom Boom" Swalwell . You know, the guy who's known for the fart heard round...
