Jersey City Democrat caught on camera hitting cyclist and driving off

Ann DeGise, a Jersey City councilwoman [whatever that is--I'm not a biologist] was caught on video driving away after T-boning a guy on a bike and is now facing demands that she resign after the hit-and-run.

DeGise is a first-term, at-large city council member and is the daughter of Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, a powerful Democrat who allowed his daughter to be born.

According to the video, she had the green light and the guy on the bike ran the red light on the July 19 incident. But while it was obvious she had struck Andrew Black, 31, with her car, she kept going and didn't seem to care if he needed help, sparking anger in the town and even among her council colleagues.

“Past being elected its a living human being, it was really hard for me to witness that,” said Councilman Frank Gilmore [no relation to Happy]. “It’s a matter of public trust, it’s a matter of respect, it’s a matter of human decency.”

Another fellow council member, James Solomon, was among the first to sign a change.org petition calling for DeGise to resign.

“The word I use is horrified, that’s how I felt watching the video,” Solomon told NBCNewYork.com. “She’s an elected official and we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard and that’s why I think she should resign.”

A higher standard for an elected official? That'll be the day.

The collision sent Mr. Black flying ass-over-tea-kettle through the air, bouncing off the hood of the DeGise SUV, and landing in the middle of the busy intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. He soon got up and staggered out of the middle of the street to the safety of the sidewalk, where another person tended to him.

Black's bike landed across the intersection in a tangled mess, but the cyclist, an Uber Eats deliveryman [whatever that is] suffered no serious injury, although DeGise didn't know that because she was putting the pedal to the metal on down the road.

Little did she know she was on video.

“Someone of prestige would fall to the point where they would ignore the law,” Black said in an interview with HudPost, but it looked as if Black was the one who should have obeyed the traffic light.

DeGise has been charged with failure to report the accident and leaving the scene. She reported the accident six hours later, according to the Jersey Journal, and said through a spokesperson she has no intention of resigning,

DeGise is a former school board member and was previously chair of the powerful Hudson County Democratic Organization.

Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, a fellow Democrat who ran with DeGise on his ticket in November, called the incident a terrible mistake but stopped short of calling on DeGise to resign because she is a Democrat. Had she not been a Democrat, she would be an Uber Eats deliverywoman [whatever that is].

LA DA Gascon walks back claim of sheriff's involvement in hit-and-run case

Hard left Los Angeles DA George Gascon is up for recall and needs only about 60 thousand additional signatures for this to go forward by July 6th, and it looks like they will get them. LA county is practically lawless under his watch and people have finally awakened to it.

Now Gascon, a George Soros supported DA, is walking back his claim that the sheriff's department "agreed with the felony charges" and extremely light sentencing against a teenager convicted of intentionally driving a car into a mother and her infant son on August 6, 2021.

The driven now 17, pleaded guilty to two felony charges of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and one felony count of hit-and-run. He was sentenced to a 5 to 7 month vacation in a juvenile probation camp. I call it a vacation because the camp has been described by prosecutors as  "less than a military school and a little bit tougher than a summer camp."

An initial statement by Gascon provided to Fox News Digital said that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department agreed with the charges and sentencing. Turns out Gascon isn't just incompetent, he's also a liar.

His office told the media:
"Fortunately, the baby was uninjured, and the mother received a laceration to her elbow. The Sheriff’s Department agreed with the felony charges that were filed. At arraignment, the minor admitted two felony counts of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and one felony count of hit-and-run. The Probation Department recommended, and the court sentenced the minor to a youth camp for five to seven months, an appropriate resolution."
The statement added that juvenile justice is intended to "rehabilitate young people." [By evidently not holding them accountable for violent criminal behavior.]

"In this case, this teen will be held accountable for his actions and receive the needed services to foster positive development to keep him from committing future offenses," the fallacious statement read.

Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva called out Gascon saying, "We were never consulted as we were not the investigating agency."

Once Gascon's office was "outed" it corrected the statement on Saturday, admitting that the sheriff's office was not involved.

"Need to correct our statement [aka false claim] from yesterday. LASD was not involved in the decision on the felony charge, as they were not the investigating agency in that case," a spokesperson for the district attorney's office said.

Villanueva had previously said that his office was not consulted regarding the charges.

"We were never consulted as we were not the investigating agency," the Los Angeles official wrote on Facebook and Twitter early Saturday. "Sheriff’s investigators would never be OK with the lightweight sentencing in this hit-and-run case. Stop empowering and encouraging criminal behavior. Hold them accountable #VictimsMatter."

The incident of what appears to be attempted murder was caught on surveillance video and shows the car hitting the mother and her infant in a stroller.

The mother wrote in a victim's impact report that she thought "those were the last moments of our lives."

"I thought those were the last moments of our lives; we were dead," the mother, who asked to be identified only as Rachel, wrote in a victim’s impact statement. "That feeling, along with the memory of a car accelerating directly into us, will haunt me forever."

Police sources say that the driver, who was 16 at the time, initially told police that the mother appeared out of nowhere and hit her on accident with the stolen car.

"As the car approached me and my child, I stopped walking and moved the stroller and myself up against a building on the right side of the road to ensure that we gave the reckless driver plenty of room to pass," Rachel said. "As the car got dangerously close to us, [the juvenile suspect] turned the wheels in our direction and accelerated as he aimed to kill us."

Rachel blasted Gascon for what she feels is basically a non-sentence because it is so light.

"I was also told that his record would be wiped clean when he turns 18," she continued. "How on earth can that be? He tried to murder two innocent pedestrians. Murder. And we have video evidence. My child would be dead if I hadn’t been there to protect him."

A better sentence might be that the driver is banned from driving until he reaches the age of at least 35. If caught driving before that time he would be sentenced to 20 years in prison and stripped of his future driving privileges. His record should not be wiped clean.

And Gascon must go.

Driver who intentionally killed cop in hit-and-run indicted on 13 counts

Long Island, NY -- A 32-year-old Black woman who reportedly drove her vehicle at an NYPD cop, killing him during a drunken rant, has been indicted on 13 counts, including aggravated manslaughter and aggravated criminally negligent homicide.

The woman, Jessica Beauvais, faces up to only 15 years in prison if convicted of the charges.

According to a report from the New York Post on Monday, the cop-hating woman reportedly had a blood alcohol level of .15 — nearly twice the legal limit in New York — when she intentionally struck the officer with her car.

Beauvais clearly appeared drunk and was reportedly driving with a suspended license. She struck NYPD Highway Officer Anastasios Tsakos while driving on the Long Island Expressway on April 27 in the borough of Queens.

She reportedly struck Officer Tsakos — who was on the scene of a separate fatal motor vehicle accident. He was hit so hard that the impact threw him 40 feet in the air, at which point she fled the scene.

When she was caught, her sedan's windshield was caved-in and a traffic cone was wedged under the front of its chassis--what you might call 'damning evidence.'

She reportedly told investigators that she had been drinking vodka in the hours that led up to the intentional hit-and-run.

Just prior to the accident, Beauvais — a podcaster and radio host — recorded a lengthy anti-police rant in which she blasted the justice system and its police officers.

While discussing the Derek Chauvin trial, she quoted hip-hop group N.W.A."Like N.W.A. say about the police, if you're going to kill me, at least I get to take someone with me," she said.

"I'm one of those people," she said at the time. "If I'm going to go, someone is coming."

“What happened to fighting?" she also said during the podcast. “I grew up on fighting. I like to fight. My hands and my feet and teeth. It does something for me — what does it do for you? F***ing people up never stopped being a thing. Shooting people is still wack. It means you can't fight. It means you're a cop." [But using your vehicle as a weapon is okay?]

She added, "F*** the police."

During her initial arraignment, Beauvais said, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I hit him and now he's dead."

I wonder what she would have said if she didn't get caught.

All Lives Matter. Blue Lives Matter.
