Tim McGraw wants 'common sense' gun control

Waving to his armed bodyguards
Country music singer Tim McGraw wants what he calls "common sense" gun control. This comes just a few weeks after the Las Vegas shooting that killed 58 people and injured hundreds more at a country music festival.

"Shucks, if there was a law against having so many guns, especially guns with bump-stocks, this tragedy woulda never happened."

Of course McGraw didn't really say that but he's dumb enough to believe it.

In an interview with Billboard, he and his wife, Faith Hill, he actually said that gun rights are "not about the Second Amendment." He said that common sense needs to be part of the conversation.

Gun rights are NOT about the Second Amendment???

"Look, I'm a bird hunter--I love to wing-shoot," the hypocrite said as his security team scanned the room for possible terrorists. "However, there is some common sense that's necessary when it comes to gun control. They want to make it about the Second Amendment every time it's brought up. It's not about the Second Amendment," he emphasized, revealing how little he knows about the U.S. Constitution and the Second Amendment in particular.

"In reference to the tragedy in Las Vegas, we knew a lot of people there," McGraw said, believing that because he knew someone there, it gave his claim credibility. "The doctors that treated the wounded, they saw wounds like you'd see in war. That's not right."

Of course that isn't right, you moron, but what does that have to do with gun control?

The problem that we're seeing lately isn't that we need more gun control, we need to better uphold the law regarding gun control.

The church massacre in Sutherland Springs, Texas is a prime example of how a person who never should have gotten a gun slipped through the cracks.

The U.S. Air Force gave the shooter a Bad Conduct Discharge and never put him in the federal data base. The shooter once escaped from a mental hospital and served time in military prison. He beat his wife and fractured the skull of his step-son. He was legally ineligible to own a firearm.

It isn't that we need more gun control--we need to ensure that it works and people are held responsible for when it doesn't.

You want something to screw up--give it to the government to handle.

McGraw and Hill performed at the Country Music Association Awards this week. McGraw also said that military-style assault weapons should not be available to civilians, and called on the NRA to acknowledge the danger of civilians owning such weapons. He naively said it would make for a "safe country," but had not a shred of evidence to make that claim.

They don't use "assault weapons" in Chicago--they use "assault handguns."

Generally, there's no way to prevent a crazy person with a gun, a knife, a car, axe, baseball bat or a truck from killing innocent people. But it was a hero with an "assault rifle" that stopped the Texas shooter from killing more people.

McGraw is just another liberal with armed bodyguards who knows better than the rest of us peons what's best for the world.

Drexel "Professor" lawyers up after suspension over Trump-bashing

Hates himself for being white
A radical leftist professor at Drexel is claiming victim status because like a wart in one's nether regions, he just won't go away.

George Ciccariello-Maher (I will henceforth call him 'Duh' so I don't have to write his entire annoying name in full) is the guy, you may recall, who tweeted last Christmas: "All I want for Christmas is White Genocide."

Which, in his case, is suicide because he's white and evidently quite self-loathing.

Duh also saw fit to comment on the story in which a First Class passenger aboard an airline gave up his seat to a soldier in uniform. Duh said that he wanted to vomit.

Drexel wrongfully said that Duh's "white genocide" tweet and the others, fall under the category of "protected speech." They said they were not going to discipline him . . . until public pressure changed their little minds. Many potential students said they refused to attend the school after Duh's anti-American racist garbage went onto social media.

When it comes to a job, just like with the NFL, they're wrong. A company has the right to terminate the employment of anyone who threatens the reputation and image of the company, but they are otherwise free to say it.

Now Duh is threatening to take "all necessary legal action" after his suspension that came following his tweet-crapping against "white supremacist patriarchy" after the Las Vegas shooting. The crap weasel told the leftist Washington Post that he's on "administrative leave" following a "smear campaign by conservatives aimed at academics."

But academics can "smear" conservatives and GOP presidents because most professors are liberal and are generally preaching to the choir.

Unless it hurts the school's bottom line.

The chum-brain tenured Duh doesn't blame his suspension on his inflammatory tweets, but on "illegal threats of violence" after Fox News and other outlets wrote stories on his tweets (this blog included), in which he blamed the Las Vegas massacre on "Trumpism" and a "narrative of white victimization."

Doesn't Duh sound a lot like Rachel Dolezal, the white woman of German descent who "identifies" as black?

"The safety of Drexel's students, faculty, professional staff and police officers are of paramount concern to Drexel," university spokeswoman Niki Gianakaris said in a statement. "Due to a growing number of threats directed at Professor George Ciccariello-Maher, and increased concerns about both his safety and the safety of Drexel's community, after careful consideration the University has decided to place Professor Ciccariello-Maher [Duh] on administrative leave. We believe this is a necessary step to ensure the safety of our campus."

Now it's the safety veto, like the ones schools force on conservative speakers like Ben Shapiro and Ann Coulter. But previously, the university said that Duh's tweets "do not represent the university's views."

So now they do.

Duh said Drexel displayed "cowardice" and they send the wrong message by "bowing to pressure from racist internet trolls."

I'd say that anyone making blanket 'white supremacist' accusations might actually be the real racist. And there's no doubt who the 'troll' is in Duh's case.

Nevada 'professor' blames Trump for Vegas massacre

The Democrats and leftists are so predictable that you had to know at least one of them was going to find a way to blame the Las Vegas massacre on President Trump.

A university professor in Las Vegas was secretly filmed in class this week and said that President Trump deserves some of the blame for the massacre. She said that because "all he's done" is "encourage violence."

"Right when he got elected, I told my classes, three semesters ago, that some of us won't be affected by this presidency, but others are going to die," UNLV history professor Tessa Winkelmann said Thursday. "Other people will die because of this, and we've seen this happen, right?"

So it wasn't just Stephen Paddock who was responsible for killing 58 and injuring almost 500 others at the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert, it was also Donald Trump.

In Winkelmann's logic, Trump is responsible for the violence perpetrated by Antifa and the KKK because somehow he's to blame because he's white, and he's rich, and he's a Republican (or claims to be).

The professor cited Trump's comments in which he threatened military action against North Korea saying that "words, especially if they're coming from someone who is the president, have consequences."

But hopefully not hers, I suspect she thinks.

For all of Trump's narcissism and showboating, he is the first president to scare the crap out of North Korea. They saw Obama as a weak wordsmith whose rhetoric was laughable and all they did was grow a nuclear program that threatens Japan, South Korea, Guam and now the U.S. mainland. Trump was able to get China and Russia to sanction the hermit nation where other presidents failed.

At least he has 'Lard Bod' Kim worrying what will happen if he keeps going in this direction because Trump is probably seen by him as crazy enough to blow the crap out of his little schtick.

Winkelmann went on: "I don't know that these events would have inevitably happened whether or not he got elected, but he has rhetorical powers every president has to encourage or to discourage," she said, referring to the massacre. "So far all he's done is to encourage violence."

The Las Vegas Review-Journal first obtained the video by the student, who told them that Winkelmann's comments polarized the classroom and students began shouting at each other.

Had one of them pulled a gun and started shooting the Trump supporters, should we blame Winkelmann for the carnage? Would she accept blame?

UNLV spokesman Tony Allen said of her remarks:
"While we respect academic freedom in the classroom and the right to free speech, we believe the comments were insensitive, especially given the series of events this week and the healing process that has begun in the community."
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also commented on the professor's attack on the president:
"It is sad she is teaching students such divisive, inaccurate and irresponsible rhetoric. She should be ashamed of herself, and the university should look into it. What a terrible example to set for students."
Winkelmann expressed regret about her stupid comments to the newspaper and she apparently blamed it on the high emotional level running through the community.
"This week has been very difficult for members of our community, and we have allowed students space in our classes to discuss how they have been affected and to openly convey their feelings. I regret that my comments caused more pain during this difficult time. Emotions were running high and I wish I would have been more thoughtful in how I directed the conversation."
But I always thoughtthat it was emotions that was the lodestar of all their decisions.
