BREAKING: SCOTUS denies Democrats redistricting balderdash

A huge win for the GOP has come from the Supreme Court in which they ruled to halt a lower court order in Alabama that it must redraw its previously passed Congressional map that would have given Democrats an eternal advantage in the polls.

The vote was 5-4, with Justice Roberts joining the left as he typically does, in dissent. SCOTUS now has halted the lower court order that required Alabama to redraw its congressional map, which diluted Black voters in violation of the Voting Rights Act. This is just one example of how scummy the left is in their quest for power.

The SCOTUS stay is obviously a huge win for Republicans and a blow to a coalition of Dems/civil rights groups seeking an additional Black opportunity seat in AL (and LA/SC). The 6R-1D GOP map will stand for 2022, and possibly longer.

The Democrats never thought the Alabama map would be challenged on the grounds of the Voting Rights Act. They were always behind the eight ball when it came to stopping the Republican map in Alabama. A full decision is probably going to come next year but it's likely not going to be one that weaponizes the VRA to produce districting maps that stack up in favor of the Democrats while not allowing the GOP to gerrymander.

What that means is that not only did the liberals lose in this specific instance, but they could lose a lot more all across the country in regards to their use of racial quotas for congressional districts once a final decision is delivered. [Doesn't that sound a little like, "I'm going to nominate a woman of color for the Supreme Court?]

Roberts is probably one of the worst Justices ever to sit on the SCOTUS. His only standard seems to be to go along to get along and he has no clear ideology as far as one can tell.

The potential irony of the SCOTUS decision is wonderful to contemplate. 

Activist groups suing Alabama over a 30-year-old district map could potentially destroy the racial gerrymandering grift for the entire country and this nonsense would come to a halt, and that's what seems to be what's going on. Although Roberts punked out, as usual in the decision to lift the order, in his dissent, he noted that he believes the only thing holding it up is that SCOTUS needs to get rid of past bad precedent and he would vote like a constitutionalist.

In other words, Roberts is likely to join a 6-3 majority next year in delivering a decisive blow to Democrat attempts to rig the gerrymandering process [where they can draw 22-4 D to R maps in New York but Republican states cannot do the same].

The SCOTUS doesn't go along with the Democrat's point of view on the VRA and with Alabama in play, the left will pay a bigger price than simply losing a seat in the South. And now you can bet that the GOP in North Carolina as also going to seek relief from the SCOTUS after the decision last week.

 

In summary, this decision sets up the impending death blow for many of the unconstitutional provisions of the VRA that have long given Democrats an unfair way to stack the deck. If gerrymandering is legal, and it absolutely is, then it should be available to both sides equally.

MSNBC anchor as ignorant as Al Sharptongue

MSNBC's Katy Tur anchors a weekday political show. In order to be in that position, specifically, anchoring a political show, it's usually good to know things about politics. Tur knows apparently less about politics than foreigners who've passed their citizenship test.

It's questionable as to whether she knows the difference between her elbow and another part of her anatomy.

Sadly, this is the result of someone who was promoted based on popularity as opposed to knowledge. She became famous in 2016 when then-candidate Trump was a meanie to her and the leftist media had a ball with that.

Tur asked her guest whether gerrymandering could be used to break up the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate. The U.S. Senate. Gerrymandering.

Her question: "Is gerrymandering something that would help improve the situation? How does that sort of divide promote consensus in the Senate, or even in the House?" she asked. [Note in the video on that page how she doesn't know the difference between the word 'kerfuffle' and 'conundrum' and is quickly corrected.]

Senate elections have nothing to do with gerrymandering districts--there are no senate districts, there are two senators for each state. Races are state-wide and are not like House districts. That she is ignorant of this as a political journalist is absurd. The fact that she's an anchor and doesn't know this should tell you something about MSNBC.

But this wasn't her first ignorance rodeo.

Last February she claimed George Washington was a “native son of New York.” Washington was a Virginian as most school kids are taught. Maybe she was out that day.

The ditz also claimed falsely during the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh that no GOP senator extended a kind or thoughtful word to Christine Blasey Ford to Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford when she testified, and lied before Congress. Many GOP senators had kind words for the lying, crying Ford.

Earlier than that, Tur claimed former Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri voted to confirm Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. That was not true--McCaskill did no such thing.

She even claimed in July 2018 that the “the Republican party decided [in 2016] not to arm Ukraine,” ignoring the fact that the Trump administration signed off on a massive sale of defensive weapons to arm Ukraine against Russian-backed separatists.

And the blunders go on and on, including a lie that there exists no limits to the Second Amendment, and the claim that then-Florida Gov. Rick Scott avoided a meeting with pro-gun activists when, in fact, he was attending a funeral for the victim of a shooting.

This is a woman who has the equivalent knowledge of politics as AOC has of economics, and her "squad" has of the greatness of America.

Obama and 'super group' fight to screw things up

Former incompetent President and Marxist Barack Obama along with other Democrats are focusing their efforts on state-level races. They would also like to put an end to Gerrymandering--the political reconfiguring of voting districts that tend to favor one party over the other. In other words, these sore losers are doing everything they can to screw over President Trump and regain control of Congress and legislatures across the U.S.

Obama's lack of class became apparent before leaving the White House when it was learned that his short-term focus upon leaving the presidency will be on General Assembly elections and redistricting after the 2020 Census.

He just cannot go away quietly now that his party was defeated and his policies were a referendum on his presidency, as he admitted.

Former Maryland Gov. and presidential candidate loser, Martin O'Malley, (D) is the most recent Democrat to kiss Obama's ring or something.

"America needs non-partisan redistricting commissions," O'Malley said, now that the Democrats were solidly beaten across America, having lost over a thousand various seats to Republicans. Had the Democrats won the election, this issue would not have come up.

O'Malley spoke at Boston College Law School, where he's a visiting professor. "This simple reform . . . must become the new norm of American democracy . . . How can we expect people to vote if their voice has been carved into irrelevance by a political map ahead of time?"

Of course O'Malley never discussed how Gerrymandering helped the Democratic Party even more than it did the Republican Party. For example, Grace Napolitano, a Democrat, ran unopposed in 2004 in her California District 38. The district was redrawn by California's non-partisan commission after the 2010 Census.

Delaware is holding a special election for an open state Senate seat that will decide whether Democrats keep their 40-year majority on the chamber.

"If we lose, a new Republican majority will take power and rubber-stamp every single one of Trump's hateful policies," the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee wrote in a fundraising letter. "They'll grind our progress to a halt."

The progress they're referring to may be their violent crime rate. With a population just above 71,000, Wilmington, Delaware had a violent-crime rate of 1,625 per 100,000 people in 2013. This covers non-negligent manslaughter, robbery, rape and aggravated assault. The national average was 368 per 100,000 people. 

And the violent crime rate  throughout the state is nothing for Democrats to brag about.

Historically, the individual poverty rate in Delaware had been lower than the national average rate. However, the national and state rates began to converge in 2009 (under Obama) and by 2013 were only 0.5 percent apart.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the Trump administration. The bulk of redistricting across the country is done by the political party that controls the state legislature. 

Critics argue the process of Gerrymandering has run amok, with the majority party drawing crazy-quilt patterns that help incumbents and their party win more races.

Tell that to the Democrats who have been in power until the last census.
