Man Who Thought He Could Play Dirty Harry with Babylon Bee's Seth Dillon Gets the Cuffs

Ah, the sweet symphony of justice: a Florida man who apparently mistook his keyboard for a license to kill has been hauled off in handcuffs. An "edgy intellectual" threatened to murder the guy who runs the Babylon Bee a conservative satire site.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier dropped the good news on X, like a mic at a comedy roast: "Last week, our Office of Statewide Prosecution was notified of multiple death threats made to Jewish conservative media members who live in Florida."

Prosecutors didn't waste time, they slapped together an arrest warrant faster than you can say "First Amendment," and the boys in blue executed it with the precision of a Bee headline. The perp, a 28-year-old idiot named Nicholas Ray (online handle: “zionistarescum," subtle, right?), is now cooling his anti-Semitic heels in custody, staring down "charges of extortion, written threats to kill, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device."

Ray's alleged X feed is a fever dream of Israel-bashing, Trump-trashing, and general Republican-roasting that would make your average campus safe space blush. The Daily Wire, a conservative website, dug through it like archaeologists at a dumpster fire, unearthing posts that scream "unhinged manifesto" louder than a TikTok rant.

This bust hits amid a political violence epidemic that's got more plot twists than a season of The Boys. Just Monday, Seth Dillon himself penned a piece for the Free Press, basically holding up a mirror to the fever swamps on both sides: urging the Right and Left to eyeball their own toxic ideologies and policies before someone else does it for them, with a baseball bat.

Dillon launched The Babylon Bee back in 2016 as a cheeky antidote to the humorless drudgery of "real" news, aiming to "speak truth through humor." Mission accomplished: the site's ballooned to 2.2 million Instagram devotees and over 5 million on X. But success breeds enemies, and pre-Musk Twitter slapped a suspension on Dillon for a zinger about USA Today's "Woman of the Year" pick. (Spoiler: It was a dude.) 

Elon Musk swooped in seven months later, bought the bird app, rebranded it X, and hit the "unban" button like it was payback for every bad tweet ever. Free speech: It's what's for dinner.Lately, the Bee's been slugging it out in court over Gavin Newsom's latest bright idea—a bill cranking down on "deep fake images" that basically hands Big Brother the satire censor's toolkit. The judge sided with the Bee, and their lawyer nailed the coffin shut: “The court was right to rein in California’s blatant censorship. We can’t trust the government to decide what is true in our online political debates.”

Meanwhile, Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) is cranking up the heat with a Tuesday hearing on this plague of politically motivated thuggery. Summer '25 alone? Two Democratic Minnesota lawmakers murdered, and the assassination of Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk.

Schmitt didn't mince words: "The rise of political violence on the left is deeply disturbing and antithetical to American values, disturbs the free exercise of our constitutional rights, and is a threat to our constitutional order."

In a world where threats fly faster than likes on a cat video, it's a reminder: Punch up with jokes, not fists. Or keyboards pretending to be guns.

CBS Hands Over Harris Interview Transcript Amid Trump's Legal Onslaught

In a move that could only be described as the latest dance in the long, bizarre ballet between now President Donald Trump and the legacy media, CBS, has decided to turn over an unedited transcript of its October interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to the FCC. This comes as part of Trump's ongoing, feud with the network over how it handled a story about his political adversary.

Trump, never one to shy away from a legal skirmish, has slapped CBS with a $10 million lawsuit, accusing them of "deceptively editing" the "60 Minutes" segment to paint Harris in a saintly light. Meanwhile, ABC News has already tasted the bitter end of crossing Trump, settling for $15 million towards his presidential library over comments made by George Stephanopoulos. Meta, too, has reportedly paid a hefty sum for the sin of suspending Trump's social media accounts post-Capitol riot, showing that even giants must bow to the litigious might of Trump.

This case, watched eagerly by press freedom advocates and journalists alike, serves as a stark reminder of the power dynamics at play when media, politics, and law intersect. CBS's lawyers have labeled Trump's lawsuit "completely without merit," yet the fight continues, perhaps proving that in the world of media and politics, the battle is as much about the spectacle as it is about the substance.

Hypocrisy Alert: 43% of GOP say Trump should be allowed to shut down media

POTUS continues to call news organizations that report false, disagreeable or negative things about him as "fake news." He's right in many instances--the left hates him and most mainstream news outlets are left-leaning and no longer report the news but provide consumers of news with opinions. That isn't fake, it's slanted.

But Trump has gone so far as to call journalists the "enemies of the American people." That, folks, is fake news.

The press often lies by omission and slants their take in accordance with their political views, but that's actually their right, whether it's right or wrong to do so. A flat out lie is not what I'm talking about--omitting something is unethical, but it isn't the same thing as a lie.

Sadly, in an Ipsos survey reported on by the Daily Beast, 43 percent of Republicans now say he "should have the authority to close news outlets engaged in bad behavior."

Bad behavior? Isn't that kind of the same idea as hate speech? Aren't conservatives and other staunch constitutionalists upset over social media giants banning conspiracy theorist Alex Jones? As much as he sucks as a human being, he has the right to say whatever he wants as long as he doesn't call for violence or do anything vile regarding children.

The Ipsos survey resulted in only 36 percent of GOP voters disagreeing with the notion that Trump should have the authority to close news outlets he believes engage in "bad behavior."

When asked whether Trump should close down specific organizations such as CNN, The New York Times, and The Washington Post, 23 percent said he should and 49 percent did not.

The survey also showed that overall, Republicans were likely to dislike the media more than Democrats.

Gee, I wonder why when they ask hard-hitting questions like: "What's your favorite color, Mr. Obama?" or "Does your awesomeness ever get in the way of your boyish good looks, Mr. Obama?"

Forty-eight percent in the survey said they believe the "news media is the enemy of the American people." Only 28 percent disagreed.

One statistic that's hard to dispute is the one whereby nearly four out of five (79 percent) believe "the mainstream media treats President Trump unfairly."

Show me one instance where they erred on the side of Trump rather than against him.

Trump has referred to US libel laws "a sham and a disgrace," and often says that journalists lie and make up sources, and they knowingly report false information to make him look bad.

The danger to these claims is to a free press, and that becomes a danger to freedom.

Speaking of free, it's the free market that can put so-called fake news in check. If you don't believe a source of news, don't support it. If it can be proven they are intentionally lying, that's when libel laws should kick in.

"The Fake News hates me saying that they are the Enemy of the People only because they know it's TRUE. I am providing a great service by explaining this to the American People. They purposely cause great division & distrust. They can also cause War! They are very dangerous & sick!" he tweeted on Sunday.

If you believe all of those claims, then you're simply believing in the other fake news, and that's just as dangerous as the claims Trump is making.

Dictatorships usually censor the media and have it support their own agenda.

I may hate MSNBC and despise CNN, but I don't want them muzzled any more than I want the idiot Alex Jones muzzled.

There is a saying that liberals hates it when conservatives talk. And conservatives want liberals to keep talking.

According to the survey, it isn't only the GOP who think POTUS should have the power to shut up the media. Twelve percent of Democrats and 21 percent of Independents agree that "the president should have the authority to close news outlets engaged in bad behavior."

Proof that the average IQ is around 100, and our schools are teaching to the low end.

On a positive note, 74 percent of Democrats and 55 percent of Independents disagreed with the statement. However, 12 percent of Democrats and 26 percent Independents agree "the news media is the enemy of the American people," and 74 percent Dems and 50 percent Independents disagreed.

Overall, 57 percent of all surveyed believe the news media and reporters are "necessary to keep the Trump administration honest," including 39 percent plurality of Republicans.

It's just too bad the media didn't do that with the Obama administration nor would they have been likely to have kept the Hillary Clinton administration honest had she won. [God forbid.]

A large majority, 85 percent, rightfully believe that "freedom of the press is essential for American democracy" compared to 4 percent who stupidly oppose that statement.

A recent Gallup poll showed that 41 percent of voters approve of the job Trump is doing while 54 percent wouldn't approve of him if he cured cancer and brought us world peace. They'd say he put a lot of doctors out of work and he only created world peace because he's a racist and to stroke his ego.

EDL's Tommy Robinson arrested outside UK court: judge orders media blackout

UK activist Tommy Robinson was arrested on Friday outside Leeds Crown Court for his reporting on a pedophile grooming trial. Six hours after his arrest, he was given a 13-month prison sentence for violating a prior suspended sentence for a similar "offense," and media outlets were banned from covering the incident by the court, with several outlets removing reports that had already been published.

Robinson is the founder of the English Defence League and an active voice in the illegal immigration problems stemming from the Islamization of the UK.

As he was being taken away you can hear him call out to a friend, "Please George, get me a solicitor, I'm on a suspended sentence, you see."

"A big police van with about seven police officers pulled up and arrested [Robinson] and told him to stop live streaming," Robinson's producer said before RT was ordered to scrub it. "They said it was incitement and a breach of the peace."

Which, of course, is pure poppycock.

"No peace has been breached--there were two other people there and he's been perfectly quiet talking into his phone. [The police] said nothing about the court proceedings, It's very strange."

Inexplicably, the judge who sentenced Robinson, Geoffrey Marson QC, ordered an Orwellian media blackout. Several online publications were forced to delete their articles covering Robinson's arrest.

Last year Robinson was admonished by Judge Heather Norton for filming outside a gang rape case in Canterbury. She handed him a 3-month suspended sentence on the condition he stop covering the trials.

"This is not about free speech, not about the freedom of the press, nor about legitimate journalism, and not about political correctness," Norton told Robinson at the time.

Then what could it possibly be about? She disallowed all of those things in defense of political correctness.

A large group of protesters gathered outside Downing Street on behalf of Tommy Robinson. The hashtag #FreeTommy has become their slogan and hopefully it will go viral on Twitter until he's freed.

In my gut I believe that Robinson, on some level, wanted to be arrested in order to spark a free speech debate over social media.

All of the men involved should be castrated or killed, in my opinion. The women should lose custody of their child--all of these cases are horrible and disgusting.

Press freedom groups file congressional ethics charge against Gianforte

"Aaaadrian!"

It's never a good idea to push a journalist to the ground and pound him like you're in the schoolyard and he called your mother a bad name.

A number of press freedom groups have filed a congressional ethics complaint against Rep.-elect Greg Gianforte (R-Mont.) for allegedly body-slamming a reporter who was asking him a question.

It's also indefensible. I don't care if you're on the left or the right--you don't attack a member of the press because you didn't like the question or simply had a bad day.

PEN America, Free Press, Society of Professional Journalists and Reporters Without Borders filed a formal complaint with Congressional ethics officials on Friday. The report comes about a week after the incident in which Gianforte went 'all Rambo' body-slamming Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs.

The question Jacobs asked Greg "The Crusher" Gianforte was about the recent Congressional Budget Office estimate of the GOP's health bill, a question that should really piss off any Republican who didn't like the question.

Gianforte was charged with assault, and the case is still pending in Macho County, Montana.

But seriously, this is unacceptable in the U.S.A.

"A member of the House hasn't physically assaulted someone this severely since the Civil War [how is it that a war can be 'civil'] and we are unaware of any historical precedent for a lawmaker beating up a reporter," said Gabe Rottman, PEN America's Washington Director in a statement. "While Rep. Gianforte's apology was necessary, it was hardly sufficient."

The incident occurred the night prior to the special election for Montana's only U.S. House seat. Not surprisingly, because the district in question has gone red for years, Gianforte beat Democratic challenger, Rob Quist.

The groups filed the complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics and also wrote to the House Ethics Committee calling for an open investigation within 30 days of any member being charged with a crime, according to a statement.

True to form, the libtards also sent a letter to President Trump claiming that his inflammatory verbiage directed at the media have been followed by violence against journalists. 

If a tree falls in the forest . . . it's Trump's fault . . . everything is Trump's fault.

Gianforte was totally out of line and should not be sworn in just because he's a Republican. Someone has to take the moral high ground and you know it's never going to be the left. We cannot have this kind of behavior in the US.

I don't believe Quist should win on default either. The district that elected Gianforte obviously wants a Republican and that's who needs to get that seat.

If we are happy he won because he's a Republican, then we're no better than they are.

Something is terribly wrong with the country of late and it isn't Trump's fault--I believe it's the fault of the Obama administration and his dividing us along different demographics. So on one level, you can understand how angry both sides can become, but there's no excuse for physical violence unless you want to start an uncivil war.
