Trump Grants Iran 60-Day Oil Hall Pass After Regime Promises To Behave This Time

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a heartwarming display of international trust rarely seen outside kindergarten classrooms, the Trump administration announced Monday that it will temporarily allow Iran to produce and sell oil after the Islamic regime reportedly promised to keep its hands to itself and play nicely in the Strait of Hormuz.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed that the administration has issued a 60-day license authorizing Iranian oil sales while negotiators work toward a broader peace agreement. Officials expressed cautious optimism that a government famous for sponsoring terrorism, threatening its neighbors, and chanting "Death to America" may finally be turning over a new leaf.

“In line with the ongoing productive talks in Switzerland, Iran has committed to free and open transit in the Strait of Hormuz and to permit International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors into their country,” Bessent wrote on X.

Diplomats reportedly celebrated the breakthrough after Iran allegedly looked everyone directly in the eye and promised it was being totally serious this time.

“As part of the framework, Treasury has issued a temporary 60-day general license authorizing the production, delivery, and sale of Iranian oil,” he continued.

To ensure the arrangement remains above board, the license specifically prohibits buyers in North Korea, Cuba, and Crimea from purchasing Iranian oil, effectively preventing what experts described as "the world's least trustworthy governments from forming an even more suspicious customer loyalty program."

Vice President JD Vance said the negotiations successfully established a mechanism to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and prevent disagreements from spiraling into a larger conflict.

Administration officials praised the agreement as a significant diplomatic achievement, noting that if all goes well, future negotiations could include additional confidence-building measures such as Iran pinky-swearing not to build nuclear weapons and signing a note promising not to fund terrorist proxies during recess.

At press time, international observers reported that several barrels of Iranian oil had already begun flowing toward global markets while diplomats eagerly waited to see whether the phrase "trust but verify" could survive another encounter with the Iranian regime.

Karzai Backs Russia Over West in Annexation of Crimea

Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, has once again dissed the West and kicked in with Syria and Venezuela to back Putin's annexation of Crimea. He said in a statement released by his office, that Afghanistan "respects the free will of the people of Crimea to decide about their own future." Or have Putin decide it for you, he might have added.

It appears that even Karzai sees how weak Obama has been in foreign affairs. To put sanctions on about 18 rich Russians is not something Vladimir Putin worries about. In fact, he made a joke of it by putting sanctions on a few American politicians, like John McCain, who himself joked that he wasn't going to be able to visit Siberia anytime soon. That's about as funny as McCain gets.

I bet Karzai is going to turn to Russia for aid once we stop handing out cash for a clunker society. This may be more a matter of self-preservation on Karzai's part, but it doesn't help our standing in the Middle East or the rest of the world.

So far, Karzai hasn't signed a security agreement to provide a small U.S. troop force to remain behind after Obama has us retreat out of Afghanistan.

Karzai is ready to leave office and in his final address to his parliament in early March, he informed us that we can leave by the end of the year because his military can do the job--they are already protecting over 90 percent of Afghanistan.

The 10 candidates in the hunt for the presidency in early April have said they would sign the security agreement and get their cut of the monetary assistance we send without strings attached but Karzai knows his butt will be in a sling with the Taliban if he doesn't kiss up to them, and also befriend Putin in case the former doesn't work.

Cool Hand Barry O

When I was a kid, "cool" described a person who could get things done based on his or her ability and finesse. The cool person was the one who was looked up to by his group. The effort at being cool was invisible, which was what made it cool in the first place. A cool person had more confidence than Putin has with Ukraine.

Today, however, "cool" is defined by how you dress, who you know, what music you listen to, and how you speak. It has nothing to do with your ability. Sometimes it even has more to do with the ability of the people you hang out with, like Jay Z, for example, than it does with your own accomplishments.

When we go shopping, we tend to buy from a salesperson we like. Unfortunately, the same can be said about when we go president-electing: we vote for the person we think is likeable or cool; at least liberals do. It has little to do with the person's beliefs, but the way they feel about the guy. Liberals tend to act as if feelings are facts, and when they're not attacking you personally when you try to debate with them, their arguments are based on feelings. It's when you give them facts that they go all ad hominem on you and get all vulgar and red-faced.

Obama comes off as cool. He has a winning, confident smile, hangs out with cool celebrities, and has become a TV personality, which is even more impressive, in his mind, than being an effective president. And let's admit it; he's likeable when he appears on Ellen Degeneres or The View, and his hosts love him--literally. They ask him tough, focused questions and he courageously answers them candidly, then flashes that signature smile. "Yes, Ellen, I do encourage Sasha to bathe every night before bedtime."

President Obama is very cool when he's with admirers, who consist of low-information liberals, high liberals, high low-information liberals, illegal aliens, wind and solar power-producing companies that fail even with tax-payer bailouts, and The View.

The "new cool" sees power as weakness, like the way Obama defined Putin's Crimea grab. Weakness is seen as power, like the restraint Obama showed with Russia's invasion of Crimea. This is how cool liberals operate. It's all about the words, not the facts. Think "workplace violence" with a hearty 'Allahu Akbar' thrown in--that's an example of bending the truth to suit your needs.

Obama needs the American public to see him as cool. We can forgive him for his lack of accomplishments as president. We can forgive his disregard for law and our Constitution. We can forgive him for his clearly-stated lie about Obamacare--c'mon, you know he didn't really mean you could keep your doctor, period--he was only playin' with you.

If we didn't see him as cool, we would see him as impeached.

Where Weak is Strong and Strong is Weak

President Obama put Vladimir's mind at east yesterday when he assured the Russian president that the United States will not get into an "actual war" with Russia, and said that "What we are going to do is mobilize all of our diplomatic resources to make sure that we've got a strong international coalition that will send a clear message." (Reported by Mediaite, March 20, 2014.) Perhaps he's trying to keep his options open for us to unleash a virtual war, but I don't think that's the case.

Obama believes that sending the military would not be appropriate, nor be in the best interests of Ukraine. What he seems to believe is that harshly worded sentences by us and our European allies is the key to persuading former KGB operative, Putin, to turn tail and give up. What Obama doesn't seem to understand is that even our European allies laugh at our leader.

The best part of the entire Obama presentation on the subject was when he claimed that Putin "acted out of weakness" when he sent troops into Crimea because "he didn't want Ukrainians to make their own decisions about their own future." This like saying that a father is weak for telling his daughter that he doesn't want her going out with a boy he doesn't trust. If that's the case, then Obama must see strength in a father who allows his 11 year old to stay out as long as the kid sees fit, because Dad is strong enough to trust him.

Obama has strength confused with naivety, and weakness confused with using force for one's own gains. Obama is weak so maybe his confusion comes from thinking he is actually strong.

Joey: "Dad, Kevin smacked me in the face for no reason. Then he laughed at me."
Dad: "What did you do when he smacked you?"
Joey: "I punched him in his face and he ran away crying."
Dad: "I think Kevin isn't going to do that again. You did the right thing."

Little boy: "Mr. Obama, that boy hit me in my face and said I was a girl."
Obama: "What did you do when he did that?"
Little boy: "I ran away and then I came to you."
Obama: "You did the right thing. Fighting is never the answer and there's nothing wrong with being called a girl. Some grown men think they're a girl with the body of a man, and some girls think they're a man with the body of a girl. It's all the same."

I believe a conversation like this  is becoming more "normal". How sad.

Obama's NPD

Putin makes his move in Crimea as Obama makes his NCAA picks. Do you get the visuals on this comparison? It's disgraceful. Obama wouldn't know a crisis if it bit him in the butt.

It's clear that our current president is in over his head. He warns Russia that he's going to impose sanctions  but the sanctions are powder-puff and then he has Kerry, our Secretary of State and communist sympathizer of Vietnam, tell the world that Putin shouldn't take it personally. Maybe this was what he meant when he told Russian president Medvedev (before Obama's second term) that he would be more flexible once he's re-elected. Obama even said that we are not going to get into a military intervention in Ukraine. That should make Putin think twice about exercising his military muscle.

It's obvious that Obama has Narcissistic Personality Disorder--he needs to be praised, loved, and respected by everyone, and any negativity infuriates him to the point where he needs to extract revenge. To receive love, he makes numerous TV appearances with the "cool people," and comes across as hip and likeable. He wants to raise the minimum wage to get the love of the young. His grasp of economics is on the same level as most of the people who voted for him. He fails to see the negative consequences of what will happen. But it's the instant love that matters to Barack. "Don't worry, once I'm re-elected, I'll have more flexibility."

That is exactly what we need to worry about.

Pukraine and Russia

Will Putin eventually say, "Gee, I should've had a G8?" I don't think so. It seems like Russia is pushing the envelope in the Crimea and has broken into a missile defense base in Sevastopol using a military vehicle (a fairly low-tech move) but Interfax Ukraine reported that no shots were fired and nobody was hurt. With the Russians seizing the military base on the peninsula, the stakes have been raised and it`s our call. It is highly doubtful that Putin cares whether or not he's included in the G8 if Obama goes ahead with that as a sanction.

Vladislav Seleznyov told Reuters that about twenty "attackers" threw stun granades--there are about 100 Ukrainian troops stationed in Sevastopol--but their grenade-tossing was on par with the Washington Nationals so nobody got hurt. While this was taking place, the Ukrainian soldiers barricaded themselves inside their barracks while their commanding officer began negotiations, Interfax reported.

There were reports that Russia began large-scale air defense drills earlier today, and the scene is very tense over what will transpire in Crimea. The United States decided to show our own air strength by sending over a couple of old F-15s in order not to intimidate the Russians with our F-22s and F-35s--we don't want them to think that we can actually kick their borscht-filled butts with our superior air power, that would simply make them feel bad about themselves and possibly cause them low self-esteem.

Putin has about 3,500 troops and 1,000 pieces of hardware about 300 miles east of Ukraine, an exercise by Russia's Western Military District.. The exercise will feature live fire and the use of their air defense systems.  "It is for the first time that all air defense units from the district, including coastal defenses of the Northern Fleet, have gathered in one place," Col. Oleg Kochetkov the district spokesman said. "It is the largest ever exercise held by air defense units of the Western Military District."

At this time, there are about 20,000 Russian troops in the Crimea, and that's a crime. But be assured, there will be no U.S. military commitments in Ukraine as it's not in our "national interest" to go to war over the territory.

Putin stated that he has no interest in annexing Crimea, but that seems to hold as much weight as "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor," yadda yadda. There will be a referendum that will give Crimean people a vote as to whether they stay with Ukraine, or go the Russian route. My guess is the vote will turn out to be the latter and Vladimir will do the counting.

But whatever the outcome, you can bet the pink slip on your Chevy Volt that Obama will choose "diplomacy" rather than a show of strength--if he wanted to show strength, he would have sent our real air power.
