NoKo says war is near, shakes their fists at the sky

Say what you will about President Trump, but he's the only president who refuses to appease North Korea, which, in the past, has allowed the hermit nation to develop nuclear capabilities. It began with Bill Clinton, then George W. Bush and ended with the "Behind Leader," Barack Obama.

The United States isn't backing down but instead, is doubling down. We sent B-1 bomber flights close to the North Korean border in spite of Pyongyang rattling sabres claiming that war is right around the corner.

Of course Russia also got into the act. Along with North Korea, they blame the US for the increased tensions. But allowing North Korea to continue on this road to perdition (a word I never use) is suicidal. And the US wants to make the point that we can do what we want (to quote South Park's Cartman).

Maybe we need a leader who the rest of the world thinks is crazy. It certainly has China talking.

We've flown plenty of provocative bomber sorties near the border at a time Pyongyang is wondering when, not if, war will break out. On Wednesday, a B-1B Lancer flew from Guam to carry out simulated bombing runs against NoKo targets at a SoKo test range.

Between the US and South Korea, there are 230 aircraft, US top stealth jets and about 12,000 personnel participating in the Vigilant Ace exercise.

When we flew a B-1 across NoKo's maritime border after they launched an ICBM test in September, they threatened to shoot down subsequent flights.

They do so at their peril and the peril of the fat man behind the curtain.

NoKo can dish it out but they can't take it

They launch intermediate-range missiles going against UN resolutions, they call Americans 'bastards' and rub our noses into a Fourth of July intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch.

We fly a few planes over our ally, South Korea, and North Korea goes crazy. They said our show of force to meet their show of force is a "reckless military provocation."

It's like the abusive husband who blames his wife for the beating he just gave her. It's like, "Don't make me come over there, America."

North Korean state media, like CNN, sharply criticized the United States on Sunday. In CNN's case, it's everything the President does even before he gets out of bed. In North Korea's case, it's our military.

Pyongyang didn't like our practice bombing sortie on the Korean peninsula. A commentary in the ruling party's Rodong Sinmun newspaper (the paper whose slogan is: "All the news we want to print) accused the U.S. of "reckless military provocations" after two USAF B-1B bombers dropped a load of inert bombs in a Saturday training session in South Korea, the country that isn't North Korea.

The comments, made in English by the state Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), said the recent drill increased the threat of a nuclear war.

But that's like Kim Jong Un calling the kettle fat because the U.S./South Korea drill came just days after the North launched the ICBM, and with its capability of hitting Alaska, 'Homey don't play that.'

The two B-1B Lancer bombers flew from Anderson AFB in Guam and joined up with South Korean fighter jets--about a 2,000 journey. During the flight to South Korea, the bombers were joined by Japanese fighters. The mission took about 10 hours.

The Air Force called the mission a "demonstration of the ironclad U.S. commitment to our allies."

"North Korea's actions are a threat to our allies, partners and homeland," Gen. Terrence O'Shaughnessy, Pacific Air Forces commander said. "Let me be clear, if called upon, we are trained, equipped and ready to unleash the full lethal capability of our allied air forces."

And if that doesn't have Kim Jong Un having a fresh pair of skivvies delivered to his palace, it simply means he's too stupid to understand our superior power.

The U.S. will also be conducting a flight test of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in Kodiak, Alaska this month.

THAAD has proven to be 100 percent effective in taking out short- and intermediate-range missiles during target approach.

U.S. bombers fly over South China Sea, challenge China

A pair of B-1B bombers flew over the South China Sea after leaving their base in Guam the U.S. Air Force said on Friday. They flew over international waters making the exercise totally legal as they asserted their right to be there despite China's false assertion that they own all of the waterway.

The bombers, B-1B Lancers, were conducting night training with Japanese fighters and arrived as President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping prepare to meet separately on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

Trump and Xi were expected to discuss what China can offer us in reining in North Korea's missile and nuclear programs, but if history can teach us anything, it's to not trust China to do anything substantial about the hermit nation.

North Korea fired yet an intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday and this has gotten as serious as cancer.

In spite of Trump cozying up to Xi to help pressure North Korea, the U.S. military has been flexing its muscles as it asserts its "freedom of navigation" rights in the South China Sea, risking the awakening of the "Sleeping Dragon."

When asked about the flight of our bombers, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said there wasn't a problem with freedom of navigation or overflight for the East and South China Seas.

"But China resolutely opposes individual countries using the banner of freedom of navigation and overflight to flaunt military force and harm China's sovereignty and security," he said.

So it's okay with them just as long as they're able to dictate who/what can fly or sail there. That's like the First Amendment as it pertains to speech with which one agrees.

"The Chinese military will resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and security as well as regional peace and stability," he added.

The U.S. has criticized the Chinese build-up of military structures they constructed on reefs and small islands in the South China Sea. We're concerned that China could extend its strategic reach.

The B-1B Lancers that flew in the night-time drills is the first time our two forces have conducted joint operations as such.
