Palestinian shot and killed by IDF in Hebron clashes

Palestinian chucks Molotov cocktail at Israelis in West Bank April 1, 2022

Palestinian Authority (PA) health officials reported that a 29-year-old anti-Semitic Palestinian man was shot and killed by Israeli gunfire amid clashes Friday with IDF soldiers in the West Bank city of Hebron. The young man may be dead, but his hatred lingers on.

The Jew-hater was identified as Ahmad al-Atrash [really, Atrash] and he was stopped from killing Israelis by the IDF as he "threw a firebomb at troops, endangering their lives." But he was not trying to endanger their lives; he was simply trying to burn them to death.

Al-Atrash had served time in Israeli prisons for "security offenses," Palestinian media reported. By "security offenses" they mean "the act of trying to kill Israelis."

After he was killed in the act of trying to kill others, a video by the Kan public broadcaster showed young Palestinians chanting “with spirit, with blood, we’ll redeem you martyr,” after his death was announced.

The Palestinian Red Crescent emergency service said dozens of Palestinians were wounded in weekly anti-Semitic demonstrations elsewhere in the West Bank. These so-called "demonstrations" are where protesters often throw rocks and firebombs at Israeli troops in an attempt to injure or kill them. The troops respond with tear gas, rubber bullets and when necessary for self-preservation, use live rounds.

The clashes came as Israeli forces were deployed in increased numbers across the West Bank following several deadly terror attacks in Israel — one of which was carried out by a Palestinian from the Jenin area — and due to heightened concerns of tensions ahead of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which begins Saturday. Some refer to it as the "Ramadan Bombathon."

IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi toured the West Bank on Friday and visited the gap in the security fence where the Palestinian gunman who killed five people in an attack in Bnei Brak on Tuesday is believed to have crossed into Israel. Red Crescent didn't make a big deal about that incident.

Kohavi also met with senior commanders and members of the IDF’s elite Duvdevan commando unit.

“Our mission is to stop the series of attacks and even though we do this throughout the year, these days we are concentrating greater efforts,” he said, referring to the regional division that operates in the West Bank.

On Thursday, three Palestinian terrorists were killed in a firefight with Israeli troops when commandos entered Jenin in a rare daytime raid as part of a large-scale anti-terror operation following the recent attacks, catching the terrorists by surprise as they were hoping to kill unarmed Jewish men, women and children.

But Ukraine is leading the news cycle and people are not aware of the Ramadan Bombathon.
