Nuclear sub USS Michigan parked near NoKo

The temperature is rising between North Korea and the United States, and just to ensure that if any funny business occurred by Pyongyang, we'd only have to hit a bunch of red switches to destroy the entire little country where the name 'Kim' is as common as 'Mohammad' is in Britain.

We have just parked a guided-missile submarine in a convenient spot right by hermit nation.

The USS Michigan (SSGN 727), an Ohio-class guided missile submarine pulled into a South Korean naval base in the city of Busan. 

An SSGN is able to approach North Korea, fire its missile payload deep inland with weapons that have a range over 1,200 nautical miles. And they're as accurate as an astronomer's prediction that the sun will rise in the morning.

Some experts agree that this nuclear class of submarine could one day replace the aircraft carrier as the centerpiece of our Navy's fighting capability.

The U.S. Pacific Command says the Michigan's visit to South Korea was planned, the message to the fat man in the North is clear--we will stand with Seoul if Pyongyang makes any aggressive moves and blow their butts right off the map.

"The U.S. and ROK [Republic of Korea] navies have always enjoyed a strong relationship. Today, our relationship is stronger than it has ever been and our ironclad partnership is further reinforced by this visit from Michigan," Rear Adm. Brad Cooper, commander U.S. Naval Forces Korea, said.

"Michigan Sailors were warmly welcomed by the ROK Navy today and I know they'll receive the same wonderful welcome from the local community during their visit to Busan."

Michigan was constructed as a ballistic missile sub, armed with 24 Trident II D5 missiles. She was converted into a cruise missile armed vessel in 2007 and is armed with 154 UGM-109 Tomahawk missiles, with 22 missile tubes that could get those bad birds in the air faster than you can say "duck" in Korean.

Two remaining missile tubes onboard the four Ohio-class SSGN conversions--Ohio, Michigan, Florida, and Georgia--were converted into lock-out tubes for special operations forces such as the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams.

SSGNs can hold up to 66 special ops personnel and mount a dry-dock shelter and SEAL delivery vehicles, making them stealthy and ideal to insert special ops forces into hostile territory such as Kim Jong Un's bedroom.

Tillerson and foreign diplomats discuss Syria crisis at G7

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson along with top foreign diplomats held an urgent meeting in Italy to discuss the Syrian crisis. 

The meeting was arranged on the 'sidelines' of the Group of 7 (Russia used to make '8') of "likeminded" countries days after the U.S. struck at Bashar al-Assad for having killed his own citizens with Sarin nerve gas. From that meeting, Tillerson flew to Moscow to meet with Russian leaders (other than Putin) to try convincing them to end their support for the weak chin Assad.

Also meeting with the G-7 countries are diplomats from Jordan, Saudi Arabia (who assist the world in supplying Islamic terrorists), Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and others.

Tillerson hopes to enlist these Middle East countries into helping ensure and stabilize Syria after ISIS is defeated. The meeting lasted an hour.

The Secretary of State hasn't been very visible publicly, but last week's attack had him in front of the media answering questions from reporters about Assad's chemical attack which resulted in the U.S. responding with 59 Tomahawk Cruise missiles.

One libtard politician thought that Native Americans would be insulted that Cruise missiles are labeled 'Tomahawk Cruise missiles' because she believes the tomahawk is unique to Native Americans. But the fact is that tomahawks were created as a general purpose tool used by Native Americans and European colonials. The design was originally based on a Royal Navy boarding axe used as a trade-item with Native Americans for food, etc. That's why liberals are generally stupid when it comes to identity politics.

U.S. officials along with Tillerson have projected a sense of urgency over the brutal Syria crisis but haven't told us how Assad needs to go nor how to protect displaced Syrians. It's also unclear at this time as to the Trump administration's plans for further action with Assad. For all appearances, it seems this policy is still evolving along with the President's change of heart on Syria and isolationism.

"We rededicate ourselves to holding to account any and all who commit crimes against the innocents anywhere in the world," Tillerson said on a visit to Sant'Anna di Stazzema on Monday. It's a Tuscan village where the Nazis massacred over 500 civilians.

So we shall see what lies in store for the world in the coming weeks. Nothing seems to look very bright.

U.S. fires 59 Tomahawk Cruise missiles at Syrian air field

The Trump administration did a "reverse Obama" and actually set down a red line, not with words, but with Cruise missiles that targeted Shayrat's airbase, runway, aircraft, control towers, ammunition areas, hangars and fuel supply. 

The airbase is near the city of Homs.

The 59 long-range all-weather missiles weigh 3,500 pounds with booster and cost $1.59 million each which means tonight cost the taxpayer 93.81 million US dollars. Each missile is 18 feet 3 inches long (20.5 feet with booster) a 20.4 inch diameter and carries a 1,000 pound payload of high explosives.

The Cruise missile only flies 550 mph downhill--it's slow but very effective.

The missiles were fired by the USS Ross and USS Porter at 8:45 p.m. ET, just as President Trump said 'goodnight' to Chinese President Xi Jinping. It was well-timed. Xi was not told about what was about to happen but was told afterward.

The Russians were notified about the strike, as well they should, and the left will probably accuse Mr. Trump of warning them because of the President's special relationship with Putin. That's ridiculous--of course he needed to warn them.

The Pentagon is calling the U.S. attack a "proportional response," which is incredibly stupid--you attack to win, not to hit as hard as you've been hit. 

"It is in the vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons," President Trump said in a statement. "Tonight I call on all civilized nations to join us in seeking to end the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria, and also to end terrorism of all kinds and all types."

Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said based on early indications the strike "had severely damaged or destroyed Syrian aircraft and support infrastructure and equipment . . . reducing the Syrian Government's ability to deliver chemical weapons."

The President said Shayrat was used as a staging point for Tuesday's chemical weapons attack on rebel-held territory. As many as 72 men, women and children were killed by what is believed to be sarin gas, a highly deadly nerve gas and a clear war crime.

"Assad choked out the lives of helpless men, women and children," Trump said. "Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack. No child of God should ever suffer such horror."

There will likely be much more to follow.

Slowly They Creep, Step by Step

The Islamic jihadists of ISIS are creeping ever closer to the Turkish border in Syria and the Kurds are saying that U.S. airstrikes are not effective in stopping them. There is no question in the minds of the military and anyone not praying to Allah that Obama's strategy is as effective against ISIS as aspirin is against cancer.

The brave Kurds are using small arms against an army of sick, blood-thirsty bastards with American weaponry and nobody is actually helping them on the ground.
