UAE tried to coordinate with Qatar and Saudi Arabia to strike Iran during recent war - report

The United Arab Emirates attempted to persuade its neighboring Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar, to coordinate a military response to Iran’s barrage of missiles, rockets and drones during the recent war. When those neighbors declined, Abu Dhabi’s leadership was left frustrated, sources familiar with the matter have told Bloomberg.

UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, widely known as MBZ, made several phone calls to fellow leaders, among them Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in the immediate aftermath of the joint Israeli and American strikes on Iran that began on 28 February. Convinced of the strategic necessity for a unified retaliatory posture to deter Tehran, MBZ reached out in the expectation that shared peril might at last produce shared resolve.

Yet his neighbors demurred. This, they insisted, was not their war.

The refusal has only deepened the strains already visible between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The Trump administration, for its part, was fully aware of the Emirati proposal and lent its own weight to the effort to bring Riyadh and Doha into the fold.

MBZ sought to frame the moment in historical terms for his Gulf Cooperation Council counterparts. The GCC itself, he reminded them, had been founded in 1981 precisely in response to the threats unleashed by Iran’s Islamic Revolution of 1979. The argument carried the logic of self-preservation. It did not carry the day.

These revelations offer one plausible explanation for the UAE’s subsequent conduct: its withdrawal from OPEC and OPEC+ at the end of April, and its increasingly close alignment with Israel. Left without the collective shield it had sought, the Emirates acted alone. Despite the absence of Gulf support, Abu Dhabi carried out limited strikes against Iranian targets in both March and April.

Iran, for its part, repaid the region with ferocity. The UAE endured the most intense barrage of the entire conflict, with Tehran dispatching nearly 3,000 drones and hundreds of missiles toward Emirati territory before any truce took hold. Last week, Iranian forces struck the key oil port of Fujairah, hard by the Strait of Hormuz.

Saudi Arabia, having declined coordination with its neighbor, eventually struck Iran on its own terms in March. Riyadh then pivoted, assisting Pakistan’s mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran. Qatar, meanwhile, briefly contemplated retaliation after Iran targeted the vast liquefied natural gas facility at Ras Laffan, but chose instead the safer ground of de-escalation. Bahrain and Kuwait, ever aligned with Saudi caution, likewise kept their distance. Oman, bound by longstanding ties to Tehran, was never expected to join such an enterprise.

Emirati and Saudi spokespeople have not responded to requests for comment. What remains is the portrait of a region divided even in the face of a common adversary, where the clearest strategic thinking has come from the smallest and most exposed player. The UAE, at least, appears to have drawn its conclusions from the episode. Whether its neighbours will eventually be forced to do the same is the question that now hangs over the Gulf.

Iran's new missile production: thanks Barack

Photo: Reuters
Beirut -- (Reuters) Iran announced the start of a new missile production line on Saturday, according to their state media. This comes at a wonderful time as the terror nation still holds some of our people, and are not complying with the U.S.-Iran deal crafted by that crafty socialist and globalist, Barack Hussein Obama.

The Sayyad 3 missile has a range of up to 74 miles with an altitude capability of 16 miles, the Iranian defense minister Hossein Dehghan said at a ceremony while out to launch.

The missile can target infidel fighter planes, unmanned drones, cruise missiles and helicopters.

The U.S. put new economic sanctions on Iran last week over its ballistic missile program, saying that Tehran's "malign activities" in the Middle East undercut any "positive contributions" coming from a 2015 Iran [fake] nuclear accord.

The new sanctions signal the Trump administration seeks to put more pressure on Iran while keeping the [fake] agreement between the Shi'ite nation and six world powers to curb its nuclear program in return for lifting international oil and financial sanctions.

The U.S. was targeting 18 entities and people for supporting "illicit Iranian actors or transnational criminal activity".

The Trump administration said Monday that Iran was complying with the nuclear agreement but was in default of the spirit of the accord.

How can we possibly know that Iran is complying with the agreement? We have to give lots of notice before we go in and inspect, which gives them more than enough time to "hide the evidence" of noncompliance.

In spite of the fact that Trump called the Iranian deal "the worst deal ever" during his presidential campaign in 2016, and criticized Obama for negotiating such a bad deal, this is the second time he has said Iran was in compliance with the agreement.

Dehghan said at Saturday's ceremony that the recent $110 billion military deal between the U.S. and the Saudis during Trump's visit to Riyadh in May, was intended as a threat to Iran.

"We recently witnessed an immense purchase that some countries in the region paid as a ransom to America and they intend to bring weapons into the region, and this purchase was done with the goal of threatening Islamic Iran," Dehgham said, as per the website for state TV.

"Can I get an Allahu Akbar!"

POTUS receives the King Abdulaziz al Saud Collar

Saudi King Salman placed the King Abdulaziz al Saud Collar around the neck of President Donald Trump on Saturday during a ceremony in Riyadh. The gold medallion is the kingdom's highest civilian honor and represents something huge and very tremendous.

Mr. Trump received the medal during a sandstorm ceremony at the Royal Court in Riyadh shortly after he touched down on his first foreign trip as president.

Obama bows to Saudi King
The host of the event declared that President Trump was being honored for "his quest to enhance security and stability in the region and around the world," the AP reported.

The White House delegation in attendance included, in part, First Lady Melania Trump, first daughter Ivanka Trump, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.

Interestingly, the women in the White House delegation were not covered, and also, both Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are Jewish.

Saudi Arabia, along with 15 other Islamic countries, do not allow Jews to enter their country.

The additional countries that forbid Jews to enter are:
Syria, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Algeria, Bangladesh, Brunei, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malasia, Oman, Pakistan, Sudan, United Arab Emirates.
Isn't that just so special?

Saudi Arabia mosque attacker killed and virgin-bound

Dubai, UAE -- The Saudi authorities say the man who planned a suicide bombing in July outside the mosque where the prophet of Islam and pedophile Muhammed is buried is one of the two Muslims killed in a gunfight with police in Riyadh.

Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour al-Turki said Taie bin Salem bin Yaslam al-Saya'ari (seriously) was killed Saturday by police in the capital's northern Yasmeen neighborhood.

With a name like that, he will require a wide-body tombstone.

The bombing outside the Medina mosque on July 4th killed four Saudi security force members and wounded five.

This is a mosque where millions of Muslims around the world who have nothing better to do visit every year on their way to Mecca.

The same day of this attack, separate suicide bombers, who believed religiously that by blowing themselves up they would rewarded with Paradise where they would be given 72 beautiful brown eyed virgins, targeted a Shi'ite mosque in eastern Saudi Arabia and the U.S. Consulate in Jiddah.

Sadly for the suicide bombers, the body parts they needed to enjoy what they were rewarded with was nowhere to be found.

It's a crazy belief, but somebody's got to blow himself up.

Saudis grow soft over "exposed" woman

Riyadh -- A Huma Abedin lookalike in Saudi Arabia had the audacity to leave her home without a male escort and literally not wear a full-body dress. Men with embarrassing erections called for her immediate death, and some were so astonished, they did not even cover their eyes.

The woman, Malak Al Shehri, shared a photo of herself without a hijab or abaya, a traditional body covering used to prevent Muslim men from raping them.

Some men who couldn't believe their eyes went berserk, screaming that she should be "thrown to the dogs," or "beheaded," both methods having the Islamic Seal of Approval for ways of dealing with Western behavior.

However, hundreds of brave people came to her defense, praising her "bravery" for Tweeting her photo.

A Saudi student named Sara Ahmed shared the photo of Malak writing; "A Saudi woman went out yesterday without an Abaya or a hijab in Riyadh Saudi Arabia and many Saudis are now demanding her execution," the caption read.

Dozens of religious Muslims tweeted death threats and insulted Malak's morals. Seriously.

"Kill her and throw her corpse to the dogs," one person wrote. Another religious adherent to

All Saudi women are legally required to wear an abaya, or full body covering, and Muslim women must also wear a hijab, but foreigners don't need to cover their head. The only non-Muslim foreigners who wear a hijab when they don't have to are those who respect Islam more than their own freedom not to practice it.

As it turns out, rather than beheading Malak, or throwing her to the dogs, the Saudis went soft on her and will only have her whipped until she almost dies.

That should teach her to be more religious.
