LinkedIn billionaire apologizes for funding 'false flag' effort to link Russai to Republican in AL Senate race

Liberal billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn Reid Hoffman, issued an apology on Wednesday for funding a group that falsely tried to give an impression that the Russian government was supporting Alabama Republican Roy Moore in last year’s Senate election against now-Sen. Doug Jones.

LinkedIn, is one of Silicon Valley’s top donors to the Democratic campaigns and PACs. In the last election cycle Hoffman donated $7 million to Democratic groups, though his money also sneaks its way into non-traditional groups that aren’t mandated to report their funding and often operate in the shadows.

One of these groups is American Engagement Technologies (AET), a firm run by former Obama appointee Mikey ["Mike-Mike"] Dickerson, which received $750,000 from Hoffman and was part of the effort to falsely portray the Republican’s senate bid as being supported by the Kremlin.

Meanwhile, the left is trying to implicate Trump for the very same thing.

"Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn said he found out that telling someone you’re buying a house in New Zealand is “kind of a wink, wink, say no more,” when it comes to survivalism."

“I find the tactics that have been recently reported highly disturbing. For that reason, I am embarrassed by my failure to track AET – the organization I did support – more diligently as it made its own decisions to perhaps fund projects that I would reject,” he said in a statement provided to the left-leaning Washington Post.

“I want to be unequivocal: there is absolutely no place in our democracy for manipulating facts or using falsehoods to gain political advantage,” he added after being caught being involved in manipulating facts.

Hoffman said AET went on to facilitate a secret project with a budget of $100,000. One participant in the project was Jonathon Morgan, the chief executive of New Knowledge, a firm that wrote a report – released by the Senate Intelligence Committee in early December – about Russia’s social media operations in the 2016 election and its efforts to hurt Hillary Clinton and help Donald Trump.

Yes, it was always the other way around.

Democratic operatives created thousands of fake Russian accounts on Twitter and began following Moore, prompting attention from local and national media that falsely suggested Russia is backing Moore’s candidacy.

The project also involved creating a Facebook page and imitated conservative Alabamians who weren’t satisfied with the Republican candidate while encouraging others to write in another candidate.

OMG: NYT reports Dems used 'similarly deceptive tactics' in Ala. Senate race as Russians in 2016 election

A blockbuster report released Wednesday night alleges that the party of the jackass used "similarly deceptive tactics" in the Alabama Senate race last year as Russia used in the 2016 elections.

The New York Times reported:
"The secret project, carried out on Facebook and Twitter, was likely too small to have a significant effect on the race, in which the Democratic candidate it was designed to help, Doug Jones, edged out the Republican, Roy S. Moore."
The Times noted that the methods used by Democrats concern the few who fear that they "taint elections" in the United States. Other Democrats are okay with it as long as it's their party coming out on top.
"The project’s operators created a Facebook page on which they posed as conservative Alabamians, using it to try to divide Republicans and even to endorse a write-in candidate to draw votes from Mr. Moore. It involved a scheme to link the Moore campaign to thousands of Russian accounts that suddenly began following the Republican candidate on Twitter, a development that drew national media attention."
The New York Times obtained an internal report on the Democrat's operation, which stated it "experimented with many of the tactics now understood to have influenced the 2016 elections."

"We orchestrated an elaborate 'false flag' operation that planted the idea that the Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet," the report added.

The Times report states that the operation only had a "budget of just $100,000, in a race that cost approximately $51 million," as the rag tried to downplay the impact of the operation. As much as they suck, however, at least they've reported on it.

Of course, mainstream media outlets, including The Times, have repeatedly hyped Russia's efforts in the 2016 elections to use social media to create division. But when the Democrats do it . . .  no big deal.

How much money did Russia's troll farm spend on Facebook ads? $100,000. Does that amount seem to ring any bells?

The idea that Democrats' deception operation was designed to have "almost no impact" on the race is nearly impossible to prove, especially considering the fact that "when Election Day came, Mr. Jones became the first Alabama Democrat elected to the Senate in a quarter of a century, defeating Mr. Moore by 21,924 votes in a race that drew more than 22,800 write-in votes. More than 1.3 million ballots were cast overall."

And why design an operation to have "almost no impact" in the first place?

There will definitely be more to follow, just don't expect to get it all at The New York Times.

Roy Moore like Hillary Clinton

Roy Moore will not be the senator from Alabama--Doug Jones will be. But if Moore simply received more votes than Jones, I have no doubt that he would be elected.

Since becoming the first Republican loser in Alabama in 25 years, Moore has issued another statement to concede the election, but like Roy Moore, it was bizarre.

It was a gnashing of teeth, fire and brimstone video about same-sex marriage, school prayer, sodomy, abortion, and "the right of a man to claim to be a woman and vice versa."

"We are indeed in a struggle to preserve our republic, our civilization and our religion and to set free a suffering humanity," he said. "Today, we no longer recognize the universal truth that God is the author of our life and liberty. Abortion, sodomy and materialism have taken the place of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Except that for some, same-sex marriage and materialism is their pursuit of happiness.

In the video, Moore does "a Hillary Clinton," and refuses to accept the result of a free election in which he lost by 1.5% where 0.5% is the requirement for a recount, unless Moore's campaign is willing to pay for it themselves.

Moore, who is credibly accused of sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old girl about 30 years ago, framed the election as more than a political contest, but also a dire ideological battle for the old cliche: "the heart and soul of our country."

Moore is an albatross around the neck of the GOP. Trump should have never endorsed him, but should have instead suggested a candidate for a write-in vote.

"In this race," Moore began, "we have not received the final count to include military and provisional ballots. This has been a very close race, and we are awaiting certification by the secretary of state."

Jones got about 50 percent of the vote and Moore 48 percent. That's about 20,000 more votes than Moore and it's three times the percentage needed for a recount.

Moore needs to be a gentleman, not an idiot.

Roy Moore accuser has issues galore

Leigh Corfman claims that when she was 14-years-old, Roy Moore, then 32 and an assistant district attorney, made a sexual advance toward her. She said that when he mother was to appear at a courthouse regarding a custody settlement, Moore, a stranger, offered to watch Leigh while her mother went into the courthouse.

"Sure, it isn't like we're strangers--we go back, what, ninety seconds?" the mother may have said. "Sure, you can watch her. I'll just be gone a few hours."

Now after looking at who Leigh Corfman is, a few things may throw some doubt in the veracity of her claim.

Corfman has been divorced three times--that doesn't make her a liar nor does it make her a bad person. It may simply mean she makes poor choices or that she's difficult to live with, or both.

I like the 'poor choices' hypothesis.

She has filed for bankruptcy three times, which supports the poor choice theory to a degree.

But Corfman had also alleged that several pastors at various churches made sexual advances toward her.

Newsmax's James Hirsen tweeted Friday:
"Purportedly Moore's main accuser Leigh Corfman has had three divorces, filed for bankruptcy three times, and has been charged with multiple misdemeanors. Posts on Moore's FB page indicate that Corfman, has claimed several pastors at various churches made sexual advances at her." -- James Hirsen (@thejimjams) November 10, 2017.
The Star reports:
She says that her teenage life became increasingly reckless with drinking, drugs, boyfriends, and a suicide attempt when she was 16.
As the years went on, Corfman says, she did not share her story about Moore partly because of the trouble in her life. She has had three divorces and financial problems. While living in Arizona, she and her second husband started a screen-printing business that fell into debt. They filed for bankruptcy protection three times, once in 1991 with $139,689 in unpaid claims brought by the Internal Revenue Service and other creditors, according to court records.
In 2005, Corfman paid a fine for driving a boat without lights. In 2010, she was working at a convenience store when she was charged with a misdemeanor for selling beer to a minor. The charge was dismissed, court records show.
The Washington Post  originally reported the story of Corfman's claim along with a claim by another accuser, Debbie Gibson.

Not surprisingly, the so-called newspaper failed to mention that Gibson has worked as a sign language interpreter for Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. Nor did it mention that Gibson, who goes by the name Deborah Wesson Gibson on Facebook, supports Moore's opponent, Doug Jones.

According to The Gateway Pundit, there are Facebook posts that suggest Gibson wants to see Doug Jones become Alabama's next Senator.

On Thursday, a top Alabama political activist wrote The Gateway Pundit: "I think it's total malarkey! The opposition, McConnell included, will do anything to keep him out!"

With all those exclamation marks, it makes one wonder if the 'top Alabama activist' isn't really Donald Trump.

Doubtful!
