Broadway joins the hypocrites on the Left regarding COVID measures and mandates

Do what they mandate, not what they do seems to be the modus opprandi of the Left and it has come to Sunday night's Tony Awards where people put out a united message about wearing masks in theaters for everyone's safety, but what they did themselves shows just how much they believe in what they preach.

“Everyone here is vaxxed and tested, and everyone is wearing a mask,” host  of the event, Leslie Odom Jr. said. “Every Broadway theater will look like this for a while, and that’s OK.”

After Odom pontificated and the cameras were off, the symbolic masks came off.

One guy in the mezzanine bar was loudly talking about the hot after-party for "Slave Play" at Neuehouse, which was requiring proof of vaccination and a negative COVID test to attend. He explained to those with him, “[M]y assistant found a picture online of a BinaxNow test that was negative, and sent it.” He laughed and encouraged his friends to do the same. That is, show a fake COVID test and go party.

Of course the hypocrisy goes beyond a single incident like this. 

Don't forget how Nancy Pelosi went to her hairdresser's without a mask at the height of the pandemic and was caught on camera. Businesses were supposed to be closed for the time being but Pelosi demanded her hair be coiffed and probably cut and colored, and she got her wish. Unfortunately, the salon was later closed down because the owner broke the laws.

Then there's San Francisco Mayor London Breed (D) who mandated masks in public indoor gatherings and was photographed at the Black Cat nightclub on Sept. 15th dancing and singing without a mask. Her excuse was that the performer "moved" her.

"When the spirit moves you because you are watching history in the making, Bay Area royalty perform, I don't know about you but I'm not going to turn around and look for where my mask is or look to make sure I'm picking up a drink," Breed said. "I'm just going to let the spirit move me."

Then there's Washington, D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser (D) who raised a few eyebrows for traveling from D.C. to Wilmington, Delaware on November 6th to celebrate co-presidents Biden and Harris' election victory at a time Delaware was classified as a "high-risk" state. Bowser defended the trip as "essential" travel, so the virus obediently stayed away.

Then in July, Bowser reinstated an indoor mask mandate, including for fully vaccinated residents, amid rising coronavirus cases in D.C. driven by the Delta variant. But the day the mask mandate went back into effect, July 31, Bowser officiated a wedding at The Line, a hotel in Adams Morgan, featuring hundreds of maskless guests. 

"Masks for the peasants but not for me and my buddies."

And then there's Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) who apologized on May 23rd for violating her own mandate regarding social distancing when she was caught at a restaurant with several people in East Lansing.

An article published by Breitbart shows a photo of Frau Whitmer sitting quite close to a dozen people, in blatant disregard for Michigan's Department of Health's order stating that restaurants can only seat groups of six people together and must keep tables six feet apart.

In addition, Whitmer's husband was also caught trying to go boating last year during lockdown.

And who can forget California Gov. Gavin "Hair Gel" Newsom?

Newsom got nailed for attending a large indoor gathering — a birthday party for one of his top advisors, lobbyist Jason Kinney — at The French Laundry, a ritzy restaurant in Napa Valley. The party involved 12 people from different households while the state's guidance involved a limit to no more than three households based on the science and the fact that the virus only attacks gatherings of more than four households.

Newsom's liars initially said the gathering was outside and didn't violate any public health guidelines, but once the photos got out and obtained by Fox 11 in Los Angeles, they got caught with their proverbial pants down at the French Laundry where pants are not optional.

The list of Democratic hypocrisy is long, and includes, in part: 

Austin Mayor Steve Adler, Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, San Jose Mayor, Sam Liccardo, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (CA), Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, NY Gov. Andrew "Believe All Women" Cuomo, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Ingrid Lewis-Martin, and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

You can do the research on each one of these lying hypocrites and you will likely come to the conclusion that they don't even believe the bullcrap they're preaching.

Trump needs to pick his battles better

President Trump didn't get elected because of his conservative views because he isn't a conservative. He got elected because people were fed up with career politicians and business as usual attitudes on Capitol Hill. 

He won because of the culture war.

But he continues to use the culture war to justify his presidency and it means that he's getting stuck in the minutia of his detractors, and he's tweeting about minutia that's beneath the office of the President. 

I want President Trump to succeed--I really do. But he needs to put his need to counterpunch every insult from people who don't matter aside and deal with being president. That means working with both sides of the aisle, not alienating both sides.

Why he felt the need to mock the leftist filmmaker Michael Moore is baffling, except to say that it has to do with Trump's inability to not punch down. 

He tweeted Saturday that Moore's one-man Broadway show was "a TOTAL BOMB".

The show, "The Terms of My Surrender," ended a 13-week run on October 22nd. It only netted $4.2 million according to BroadwayWorld.com and that's less than half of its potential take. That's considered a flop in the industry.

Well folks, that's show business. But is it the president's business?

I know that Michael Moore attacks President Trump almost as much as he attacks the food on his plate, but I believe the president would be better off to let sleeping pigs lie.

The show combines Moore's autobiography (as if normal people care about the leftist stooge) along with calls for action against Trump and others in the GOP. But the show was a failure and critical disappointment.

The New York Times called "Terms of My Surrender" 'shaggy and self-aggrandizing.' And although I didn't see it, I believe the Gray Lady finally got something right.

The reviewer Jesse Green wrote: "You don't have to disagree with Mr. Moore's politics to find that his shtick has become disagreeable with age." Green compared the show to "being stuck at Thanksgiving dinner with a garrulous, self-regarding, time-sucking uncle" [who just swiped your three drumsticks, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and cornbread when you weren't looking].

While Moore has been an outspoken critic of Trump as well as attacking the country and white people, it would have been better for Trump to ignore him rather than giving him any publicity.

In August, the adipose documentary director led the show's audience to Trump Tower to protest Trump's reaction to the Charlottesville, Va. massacre. That night he compared Trump's supporters to accomplices in a rape during a CNN interview. 

So one could say that Moore thinks about half the country are rape accomplices. Makes perfect sense if you're arteries are clogging your brain.

In a crazy, wild statement at that interview Moore said, "If you hold down the woman while the rapist is raping her, and you didn't rape her, are you a rapist? Let's cut the BS and start speaking honestly."

So here we have yet another case of a leftist accusing someone on the right of the behavior they've committed, just like the Clinton campaign did over the Russian collusion with Trump.

Moore laughingly told the Wall Street Journal in an email that his show was "the most artistically gratifying experience of my life" adding that there were "talks happening about taking this show on the road."

Probably because New Yorkers wanted it gone.

But that isn't for Trump to declare--let the reviewers and humble bloggers do it for him. He needs to stop punching down.

After all, he's the President of the United States and Hillary is signing books at Costco Warehouses. She still doesn't know What Happened.

Brandon Victor Dixon's hypocrisy and racism

Brandon Victor Dixon lectured Vice President-elect Mike Pence as he stood with the cast of "Hamilton," a Broadway musical that costs around $3,000 a pop. Dixon said it wasn't a lecture, it was a conversation, but obviously he's an idiot who doesn't know the difference.

In fact, the lecture was so heart felt and sincere, he had to give the lecture using a flash card.

President-elect Donald Trump said that Dixon should apologize to Mike Pence and his family but the actor said he had nothing to apologize for and refused.

So instead of saying 'sorry' for being a Richard's nickname, perhaps he ought to consider saying it over some tweets he made on yesteryear, before "Hamilton" hit the stage.

On March 17, 2012 Dixon tweeted: "St. Patty's day weekend is like Christmas for black dudes who like white chicks. Happy holidays boys."

In another tweet he wrote: "For every racist comment I get about Trayvon, I'm going to turn one (1) white married, suburban housewife & mother into a jump off." [A 'jump off' is a casual sexual encounter.]

Finally, he responded to this June 27, 2013 tweet apparently made by a black woman who wrote: "Remember when NFL players would just play the game, bang mad ho's, and collect their checks? Guess that's not enough anymore." By tweeting this: "the problem is ho's aren't what they used to be. If ho game would step up, cats wouldn't get distracted."

Scott Pinsker, a marketing maven, to Fox411 that the actor's on-stage performance Friday in which he made the lecture and then chided his audience for booing Pence, is at odds with these less buttoned-up Twitter interactions.

"It's certainly hypocritical for Mr. Dixon to adopt the persona of a concerned civil rights statesman and dress-down Pence in a public theater, and then use that kind of language on social media. It reeks of phoniness," Pinsker said.

"That's one of the dangers of celebrities who use social media, many of us have multiple sides to our personality, and there are unintended consequences to angry, divisive language," Pinsker added. "It can cost you the moral high ground, and make you look like an oblivious, self-aggrandizing hypocrite."

Pence responded to the on stage lecture with class, saying that this is what liberty is all about. 

People didn't pay that kind of money to have to listen to a one-sided political rant, but Dixon knew that his audience was filled to the brim with New York progressives, liberals, LGBTQ folks and Trump-haters. However, what he did was not only be rude to Mr. Pence, but to the entire audience.

The speech went "We sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us--our planet, our children, our parents--or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us."

Yes, "Hamilton" is so diverse that their casting notice made it clear that "non-whites only" need apply. Hopefully, the production will be sued for that violation of 'inalienable rights' of all Americans.

If they're not white, it can't be racism. Really?

"Hamilton," the Broadway musical that won kudos for casting black and Latino performers, is being questioned regarding its hiring practices as they might be in violation of New York City Human Rights Law. 

Specifically, the casting notice clearly seeks "non-white" performers to play the white founding fathers of America. One critic said the musical takes a story that "valorizes dead white guys" and replaces them with black, Latino and multi-ethnic performers to play those roles.

Isn't that similar, in a way, to those people who claim to be war heroes but have never actually served in the military? It's called stolen valor and actual war veterans are appalled by it.

As "Hamilton" plans to expand to other cities, the casting notice calling for "non'white" performers is being questioned by civil rights attorney Randolph McLaughlin.

"What if they put an ad out that said, 'Whites only need apply?'" McLaughlin said. "Why, African-Americans, Latinos, Asians would be outraged."

He believes the ad violates the New York City Human Rights Law making it unlawful "for an employer . . . because of the actual written or perceived . . . race of any person, to discriminate."

"You cannot advertise showing that you have a preference for one racial group over another," McLaughlin said. "As an artistic quiestion, sure, he can cast whomever he wants to cast, but he has to give every actor eligible for the role an opportunity to try."

Even Actors Equity, the Broadway union says, " . . . producers agree that auditions for all productions . . . will be conducted in such a manner as to provide full and fair consideration to actors of all ethnicities."

But Actors Equity approved of the language in the casting notice.

Why?

Because it's only racism when it comes from white people.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to discover that McLaughlin is labeled a racist because of his concerns over the obvious racism of the casting notice.

The show's producter Jeffrey Seller defended the diversity of the "Hamilton" cast and the legality of the "non-white" casting notice. "I stand by it and believe it to be legal," he said, believing that legality equates to morality and ethics.

The city Commission on Human Rights claims it hasn't received a formal complaint about the ad, nor would they say if they're investigating. Probably not since this has nothing to do with which bathrooms people are allowed to use.

According to CBS2, the city has fined restaurants for advertising for "busboys" and "waitresses" rather than using the gender neutral terms "bus help" and "wait staff."

As a New York City male chromosome person, born and bred, I will not be attending "Hamilton." 

Does that make me a racist? If so, please don't tell my wife--she isn't white.
