Israel agreed to a temporary cease-fire for a hostage deal that is to take place on Thursday morning. It's likely that Hamas hasn't agreed to not kill Jews wherever they find them, because that's kind of what their take on Islam tells them to do as they take their scripture literally.
The deal is for Israel to exchange three female Palestinian prisoners for every one woman or child Hamas releases from their clutches somewhere in the Gaza Strip. So Israel will release 150 wannabe terrorists, and Hamas will release 50 prisoners, mostly women and children. It's believed that three Americans are among those that are to be freed.
The list of the 150 released prisoners just completely debunked the propaganda that Israel arrested innocent Palestinian women and children who "just threw stones." They were as innocent as Nazis but not as adept at murder on the first try.
So the question is whether Israel is making the right choice. Remember, in the Gilad Shalit deal, Israel released 1,000 prisoners for one Israeli soldier. While that says volumes about the moral differences between Israel and Hamas, it also points to a frustrating scenario in which Hamas knows the Israelis will get a crappy deal while they get their terrorists back in action.
BREAKING: Israel, Hamas Strike a Hostage Deal -- Here are the DetailsThe difference is, the Israeli women and children being released have done nothing to merit their being kidnapped, but the women being held by Israel, while not being successful at killing Jews, have given it "the old mosque try." They have been imprisoned for attempted murder and terrorism against Israeli civilians and IDF personnel.

The Israelis who will be freed are innocent civilians being held hostage by terrorists. It's another garbage deal Israel is willing to take because they value life. According to the Jerusalem Post, a number of family members of Israeli hostages actually oppose any deal the requires exchanging terrorists for their loved ones:

Bereaved families and survivors of Hamas's October 7 attack have issued a statement on Tuesday stating their opposition to a hostage deal that would include the release of terrorists in a prisoner exchange.
"We know and warn that any terrorist who is released now will return and cause harm in the future. In the Gilad Shalit deal, the perpetrators of the October 7 massacre were released, and there is no reason why the release of the terrorists should be any different this time."
