Kathy Hochul says crime is down and GOP is lying to you: guess what

The 3 Stoogettes

Unelected Gov. Kathy Hochul's (D-NY) nose grew several inches on Friday after she claimed that Republicans, especially her political nemesis Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), were lying about the amount of crime eating away at New York over the past year. Zeldin is running against Hochul in the gubernatorial race on Nov. 8.

Hochul's lie came even as Democrat-friendly CNN showed statistics revealing that overall crime was up 31% from Oct. 2021 to Oct. 2022 in New York City.

“Because they’re being dishonest about it,” Hochul claimed when asked why GOP candidates are gaining grounds in polls while talking about crime. “They’re not having a conversation about real solutions.”

Democrat solutions is to allow criminals to walk out of custody, bail-free and in some cases, to lessen the charges and sentences.

While Hochul acknowledged that crime is a problem in New York City, she claimed that the real issue was the number of guns on the street and that Republicans were “tough on crime, but soft on guns.”

Yes, by taking guns away from people who are willing to turn them in [aka law abiding citizens] only criminals will have guns.

“That’s not going to give anyone any comfort,” Hochul said of the crime data. “It says we still have a problem, I understand that, but let’s talk about real answers and not just give everybody all these platitudes.”

She is an idiot to think that gun confiscation is going to reduce crime--just tell that to Paul Pelosi.

Obviously guns are not the only problem where crime is an issue.

Earlier this week, Hochul also accused Republicans of being “master manipulators” on the crime topic.

“They have this conspiracy going all across America to try to convince people in Democratic states they’re not as safe,” she claimed. “Well guess what? They’re not only election deniers, they’re data deniers. The data shows that murders and shootings in our state are down by 15%, down almost 20% on Long Island where Lee Zeldin lives.”

But Hillary Clinton, Stacey Abrams, Jamie Raskin, Kamala Harris [who said Trump was an illegitimate president as did Hillary], and others over the past ten years and more, are not supposed to be election deniers because?

The New York Post documented data that shows violence is surging in New York City, regardless of what Hochul says.

“…citywide murders last year were 67% higher than in 2017, and that, though they’ve fallen slightly this year, other crimes continue to soar,” The Post recently reported. “As of Sunday, rapes in Gotham were up 10.9% over last year, robberies 32.4%, grand larcenies 38.5% and car thefts 34.5%.”

If anything is to blame for the rise in crime, New York's bail reform law of 2019 stands out. It bans cash bail except for the “most serious misdemeanors and felonies.” Judges have no discretionary power to hold defendants based on their "perceived dangerousness," and Politico points out that they are required to use the “least restrictive means” of ensuring charged individuals return to court. Yeah, kind of like illegal aliens returning in a year or two for their hearing. Good luck with that.

Just days ago, a mother was killed in front of her young children by her estranged husband who was let out of jail without bail despite being arrested for beating her as seen in a video she had provided the court.

The Democrats have attacked law enforcement and policies that impact on criminality and this has got to stop. Hopefully this Tuesday will be a referendum on this issue and the other problems the left's agenda has fostered.
