U.S. Airstrikes on ISIS at the Mosul Dam

ISIS is not a JV team and the Yazidis aren't out of the woods yet. And let's face it, "targeted" airstrikes will not win the war in Iraq and even al Qaeda is not on the run. Almost everything you've heard from this president is bogus.

In spite of the fact that president Obama gave away his "strategy" (if you can call it that) to the enemy, basically telling them that we'll be out of Iraq before anyone really gets hurt and our airstrikes will be limited, the U.S. military actually increased its airstrikes today on ISIS (a group I refuse to call the Islamic State). Over this weekend, we have been gleefully destroying our own military vehicles and other equipment ISIS stole from Iraqi "ground forces" (if you can call them that) and blowing them to smithereens.

There have been 14 strikes in a joint military effort to retake the Mosul Dam near Irbil (which, coincidentally, was supposed to be Barack's middle name but it wasn't Islamic enough). Without control of this damn, the damn ISIS terrorists could open the floodgates and drown thousands of normal people in its path.

The weekend attacks were launched as Kurdish Peshmerga and Iraqi forces fought a large ground operation to retake the dam.

Fun Facts: the Mosul Dam is the largest dam in Iraq and provides power and water to northern Iraq. It was first seized by ISIS on August 7th.

Fighter aircraft and drones conducted about 23 airstrikes near the dam and thus far, not a drop of water has been spilled. Commander of Kurdish forces, Gen. Tawfik Desty (his friends call him "Chesty") said they now control the eastern part of the dam, but the fighting rages on.

According to Fox News, U.S. defense sources state that the fighting is far from being over and in order to retake the dam, a "lengthy multi-phase operation" will be needed. But a senior official said that the operation will be mostly on the shoulders of the Kurdish Peshmerga forces because we don't want the world to see us as bullies or as being a country that is effective in actually bringing about real hope and change for the Yazidis and other minorities of the world.

The Sunday airstrikes also used bombers that have been part of the humanitarian effort to help Americans in Iraq and others who don't believe that Allah is the answer to their problems, but the actual cause of their problems.

A-10 Warthogs, which are used to provide close air support to ground troops, were also used and hopefully shot the crap out of ISIS with their farting 30 mm cannons. Watch the video and see just how cool these birds are.

But with Obama's military budget cuts, the A-10 is slated to be scrapped--just another brilliant strategy from our Community Organizer in Chief.
