Here we go again. Three rockets were fired from Gaza City indiscriminately at Israel on Tuesday breaking yet another cease-fire between Israel and the Hamas terrorists often referred to as 'militants' by the media.
Israel responded to the sneaky attempts by Hamas to kill men, women and children by carrying out airstrikes in response. Kerry is beside himself along with his hair.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility but just prior to the rocket attack, Hamas spokes terrorist, Fawzi Barhoum (his friends call him the "Jew-Hater") suggested the possibility of more rocket attacks saying: "If Netanyahu doesn't understand . . . the language of politics in Cairo, we know how to make him understand." This was Fawzi at his best Don Corleone impression.
Mark Regev, an Israeli government spokesman stated: "This rocket attack on Beersheba is a grave and direct violation of the cease-fire." Still, Palestinian and Israeli negotiators resumed indirect talks on Tuesday in Cairo and Hamas said that if an agreement was not reached soon, heads will roll. They meant it literally.
Israel isn't stupid, which may explain why they have more technological advances and inventions per capita than most major nations, and why they will not agree to capitulate unless Hamas disarms. Israel must have read the Koran. They know it's the sacred duty of every Muslim to rid the world of Jews, even when they use them as their lawyers in terrorist trials, and doctors when Palestinians are injured from the war. What's going to happen when a poor terrorist can't find a smart Jewish lawyer?
Egypt agreed to co-host an international fundraising conference in Gaza if a deal is reached--this may be their attempt to pressure Hamas into getting serious about a truce. And the fact is, Hamas has appeared weaker in the Cairo talks since this Gaza war began over a month ago as it's being pressured by Egypt and the Palestinian Authority to accept a less than perfect deal with Israel. On the other hand, it needs to show the Gazans that their attempts at killing Israelis and getting killed in the process, wasn't in vain, like it was for Americans who died in Iraq and Afghanistan under Obama's impotent leadership.
So, we shall see what comes of these Cairo rap sessions. I suspect not much will be gained but I hope I'm wrong. (What are the chances of that?)
One member of the Palestinian delegation said that Israel is offering to ease up on the Gaza blockade and open border crossing to allow some goods and people to enter, but insisted they have the right to limit the imports of material like cement as well as chemical and metal products.
Like I said, Israel isn't stupid. The last time they allowed cement to be cross in order to build homes for the Palestinians, Hamas used it to build tunnels in order to sneak into Israel and kill Jews.
Hamas is sneaky, unreliable and fanatically anti-Semitic. Remind you of any prophet you can think of?
