NYPD on distancing patrol make violent arrest

New York City -- I respect the police and always have, but, as with any group of people, there is at least one scumcrumpet that stands out and gives the entire group a bad name. In this case the alleged scumcrumpet gave the NYPD the name 'Gestapo,' or 'Sturmtruppler.'

The cop, Francisco Garcia, was caught on video Saturday pointing a stun gun a guy and then violently throwing him to the ground and hitting him after he apparently had the guy under control, which seemed to be the moment he approached the man.

The entire incident was over an alleged social distancing violation which may actually be unconstitutional, but that's for the lawyers to figure out. The cop [fun fact: the word 'cop' comes from the fact they used to be called 'coppers,' and that was because the original police uniforms used copper buttons] has been stripped of his weapon and badge and placed on desk duty pending an internal investigation.

The video, which was taken by a bystander, showed the plainclothes officer, who was not wearing a protective face mask, slapping 33-year-old Donni Wright in the face, punching him in the shoulder and dragging him to a sidewalk after levelling him in a crosswalk in Manhattan’s East Village.

“There will unquestionably be a careful look at what happened there,“ the incompetent Comrade Mayor Bill de Blasio said Sunday.

Police spokeswoman, the lovely Sgt. Mary Frances O’Donnell, said Wright “took a fighting stance against the officer” when he was ordered to disperse and was arrested on charges including assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Judge for yourself, if you believe you have enough evidence from the video, but the fact that the cop hit him when he was down clearly shows me, at least, that he was acting out of anger and a sense of power.

Wright had not been arraigned as of Sunday afternoon, prosecutors said.

Wright’s arrest and that of two other Americans minutes earlier on the same block across from a public housing complex raised serious questions about the police department’s use of force, as well as the role of officers in enforcing social distancing measures and inconsistency in how they’re applied.

The NYPD assigned 1,000 officers to social distancing patrols over the weekend. On Saturday, they issued 51 summonses, including 43 in city parks.

Minutes before the confrontation with Wright, video from a nearby security camera showed officers used force in arresting a couple for allegedly failing to comply when asked to disperse. O’Donnell said officers saw that one of them, a 31-year-old man, had a “bag of alleged marijuana in plain view.”

The bystander video of Wright’s arrest showed the plainclothes officer Garcia, who was not wearing a mask, helping take one of those people to the ground before turning his attention to Wright, who was moving toward the area of that arrest from about 10 to 15 feet away.

Garcia — in a black T-shirt, jeans and a Yankees cap — turned toward Wright and cursed at him to “(get) back right now,” according to the video. At the same time, the officer pulls up his Taser and points it toward Wright.

Garcia continued toward Wright and eventually holstered his Taser. It wasn’t clear what Wright was doing because he wasn’t in the frame the entire time, though just before Garcia tackled him, he was seen stopping and standing in front of the officer with what appeared to be a clenched fist at his side.

“What you flexing for? Don’t flex,” the unmasked Garcia said, before grabbing Wright and wrestling him to the ground, slapping and punching him in the process. The officer then took Wright’s arm and dragged him from the crosswalk where he landed back onto the sidewalk and pushed him onto his stomach.

The video then showed another officer stepping in and helping handcuff Wright.

Kneeling on the top of Wright’s back or neck to keep him down, the plainclothes officer started cursing at bystanders, which is never a good look.

One of them yelled back: “he didn’t even do nothing,” which is a double-negative and might imply that by not doing nothing, he must have been doing something.

AG Barr taking 'action' against officials who regulate religious services

William Barr ain't no Obama wingman Attorney General.

AG Barr is reportedly going to take "action" against government scumcrumpets who "single out religious" organizations over social distancing enforcement measures in dealing with the Chinese Communist Wuhan Wet Market Lab Created Coronavirus.

Kerry Kupec, spokeswoman for Barr, posted on Twitter:
“During this sacred week for many Americans, AG Barr is monitoring govt regulation of religious services. While social distancing policies are appropriate during this emergency, they must be applied evenhandedly & not single out religious orgs. Expect action from DOJ next week!”
This year, Easter and Passover fall at the same time and is the most sacred week for Christians. AG Barr is monitoring the way in which government officials are dealing with various religious worship as some officials around the country have put a jackboot on the neck of church leaders and even threatened to permanently close churches if they don't fall in line with social distancing.

Comrade Mayor Bill de Blasio of NY City threatened to permanently shut down places of worship late last month of they didn't fully comply with social distancing efforts. De Blasio, who was a big fan of Nicaragua's Communist Sandinistas has showed his glowing incompetence since trying to deal with the virus while setting a horrible example by not abiding to his own orders to the public.

“The NYPD, Fire Department, Buildings Department, and everyone has been instructed that if they see worship services going on, they will go to the officials of that congregation, they’ll inform them they need to stop the services and disperse,” Comrade de Blasio said. “If that does not happen, they will take additional action up to the point of fines and potentially closing the building permanently.”

The mayor evidently either did not read or understand the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

On Friday, another Democrat, Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky, said he would send cops to churches Easter weekend to record license plates of anyone who attends services and will then subject them to forced quarantine for 14 days.

Louisville Democrat Mayor Greg Fischer has banned drive-in religious services in parking lots during Passover and Easter, even though this is a clear example of maintaining social distancing.

USA Today reported though that by Saturday afternoon “a federal judge had rebuked the mayor’s directive to churches, calling the move overbroad and unconstitutional.”

The list of Democrats targeting religious organizations is too long to list, or at least, too boring. Suffice it to say, leftists hate religion and William Barr sees it and plans to do something about it.

On Friday, President Donald Trump spoke about Easter during the White House Coronavirus Task Force press briefing.

“Today is Good Friday. And this Sunday, millions of Christians celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Trump told a group of reporters during the nationally televised event. “At this holy time, we pray that God will heal the sick and comfort the heartbroken and bless our heroes. As American families look forward to Easter, we’re reminded that our story ends not in despair, but in triumph and renewal. Very appropriate, isn’t it?”

Happy Easter to my Christian readers and Happy Passover to my Jewish readers. May you all have a blessed holiday and a safe transition through this period of pandemic.

Chicago Mayor Violates Social Distancing to Get Her Hair Done

Photo: Getty Images
Chicago Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot set a wonderful example of "Do what I say, not as I do" after she violated a statewide "stay-at-home" order beginning last month that closed nonessential businesses.

Lightfoot decided that she was special and wasn't required to follow the state's order that ordinary citizens had to obey. She had a personal emergency: she needed to get a haircut.

Haircuts for Lightfoot must be essential because she had gotten one just a few days after shooting several public service announcements that preached what is and what is not essential.

Oh, the irony!

“Getting your roots done is not essential! Your dog doesn’t need to see its friends. You can work on your jump shot inside,” she preached to the peons in one of the Public Service Announcements.

Lightfoot was confronted by reporters after the photos of her haircut emerged. She not only refused to apologize, she got pissed off at the reporters for having the audacity to question her poor judgment.

“I’m the public face of this city,” she said, according to the Washington Free Beacon. By 'public face', Lightfoot actually meant 'public butthead.' She obviously could have waited to get her hair done.

“I’m on national media and I’m out in the public eye. I take my personal hygiene very seriously.

“I felt like I needed to have a haircut. I’m not able to do that myself, and so, I got a haircut. You want to talk more about that?”

Not one of the so-called reporters was brave enough to talk more about that. Obviously, the rules only apply to us, not her, a common theme among the left who believe it's okay to fly in their private jets while advocating for the environment and tell us to take an electric car. Even New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio thinks he's special and therefore exempt from practicing what his state is preaching.

“Mayor Lightfoot decided it was essential for her to get a haircut, but no one else can go out and get one. This doesn’t look like social distancing to us, why the hypocrisy @chicagosmayor?” the Chicago GOP said in a tweet.

But how is it that the shop where she got her haircut was open in the first place? Was it considered essential because of the Mayor's need to go there, or did it get a dispensation from Lightfoot?

Lightfoot's motto: "Social distancing for thee, not for me."

The defiant mayor, meanwhile, insisted that “I’m practicing what I’m preaching,” because her hairdresser wore a mask and gloves. But unless her hairdresser used six-foot-long scissors, social distancing was never observed and Lightfoot is a hypocrite.
