Columbia Students arrested after storming library: some are repeaters including student who demanded humanitarian aid

Well, folks, the Ivy League’s gone full circus again. At least six Columbia students nabbed for storming a university library on Wednesday are old hands at this game, including one genius who demanded “humanitarian aid” from the school, according to a Washington Free Beacon dig. These repeat offenders were already slapped on the wrist for prior campus raids or last spring’s tent-city shenanigans.

Out of 81 total arrests, 44 are Columbia kids, 13 hail from Barnard College (Columbia’s sister school), and one Barnard staffer, Eva-Quenby Johnson, got cuffed too. Oh, and two students from Union Theological Seminary, another Columbia affiliate, joined the party.

This masked crew didn’t just waltz in. They roughed up two security guards, handed out pamphlets cheering Hamas’s violence, trashed the library, and rechristened it after Basel al-Araj, a Palestinian terrorist who met his maker in a 2017 shootout with Israeli forces. Classy.

Columbia’s security team locked the exits, told the radicals to flash their IDs and skedaddle or face cuffs. After a few hours of defiance, the university called their bluff, and NYPD rolled in, zip-tying the troublemakers and herding them onto a bus.

Let’s meet some of these all-stars.

Ramona Sarsgaard

Yep, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s kid, Ramona Sarsgaard, was among the anti-Israel crowd hauled off by NYPD. Maggie, a Columbia grad herself, once gushed about her daughter’s eco-warrior cred. “She, like many, many children, isn’t able to push out of her mind the dire situation that we’re in,” Gyllenhaal told People in 2019, when Ramona was 13. “They’re really concerned and upset, demanding that the grownups pay attention. My daughter did that to me and it took me a minute.”

Guess saving the planet didn’t stop Ramona from rocking a tan leather getup at Paris Fashion Week in January. Priorities, right? She’s also got Hollywood royalty in her corner—her uncle Jake Gyllenhaal, inspired by Ramona and her sister, co-wrote a 2023 book about aunts and uncles. Cute.
Serial Building Stormers

At least four of the arrested students are no strangers to campus chaos. Columbia’s Symmes Cannon and Hannah Puelle got pinched and suspended for storming Barnard’s Millstein Library in March, clashing with cops when they refused to bounce. No word on whether their suspensions stuck. Another student, Gabrielle Wimer, was back in class by mid-April after a similar stunt, per the Free Beacon.

Then there’s Marianne Almero, a fresh Columbia grad, and Barnard’s Samarra Sankar, both nabbed for raiding Hamilton Hall last spring. Almero’s resume includes interning at the Urban Indigenous Collective, where she pushed “social justice advocacy to decolonize education institutions, climate justice, incarceration and police systems, and health accessibility.” The Manhattan DA dropped most charges, and Columbia disciplined the culprits—nearly a year later. Swift justice, huh?

Two more Columbia students, Johannah King-Slutzky and Anjali Vishwanath, got detained and suspended for last year’s encampment. King-Slutzky, a doctoral student, became a meme for demanding “humanitarian aid” and “a glass of water” for the radicals occupying Hamilton. She didn’t join that takeover but was arrested at the encampment earlier and still taught a “Contemporary Western Civilization” course last fall. Gotta love Ivy League standards. Vishwanath, from Columbia’s School of Social Work, called it “an honor to be arrested and suspended for Palestine.” This year, she’s part of Columbia’s Action Lab for Social Justice, which aims to “uproot systems of oppression.” Subtle.

Sueda Polat

Sueda Polat, a Columbia grad student in human rights, played negotiator for last spring’s encampment, repping Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), the campus’s most rabidly anti-Semitic group. She teamed up with Mahmoud Khalil, a protest leader currently in ICE custody, to bully Columbia into ditching Israel by “any available means necessary.” Polat also rubbed elbows with CUAD’s Khymani James, who’s openly fantasized about “murdering Zionists.” Charming company.

Dalia Darazim

Dalia Darazim, a sophomore studying Middle Eastern studies, took to the Columbia Spectator in January 2024 to blast her school and classmates for not going hard enough against Israel post-Oct. 7. “I realized that for my peers in the human rights major, Palestine was not a part of their self-proclaimed efforts for social justice,” she wrote. “I realized that not only was the Palestinian cause not included in anyone’s agenda, but Palestinians themselves had no place on Columbia’s campus.”

Darazim, who joined last spring’s encampment, doubled down in a June 10 Spectator op-ed, accusing reporters asking about Jews feeling unsafe of enabling genocide. “Time after time, I took a deep breath, and delivered a thoughtful, diplomatic answer in response to this genocide-enabling question—a question that deliberately denies Palestinians the right to narrative by centering college campuses and their students over the ongoing slaughter in Gaza,” she wrote. “No American college student’s feelings should be centered over Palestinian lives.” Diplomacy at its finest.

Sumera Subzwari

Sumera Subzwari, a grad student at Columbia’s Teachers College, calls herself a “disabled mushroom forager.” In an April 2024 piece, she explained her fungi obsession: “I fell in love with mushrooms because they align so clearly with disability justice. Disabled folks exist outside of what society considers ‘normal,’ and mushrooms are just the same—thriving through nonconformity.” Deep. She also snagged a Vegan Women Summit scholarship in 2023. Mushroom foraging and vegan cred? She’s living the dream.

None of these geniuses responded to requests for comment, and Columbia’s staying mum. Shocker.

They never met an unborn baby they wouldn't kill. At least 17 House Democrats were arrested Tuesday for blocking traffic outside the Supreme Court during a planned "civil disobedience" ["insurrection" for Republicans].

Axios reported that the abortion-as-religion Democrats arrested were:

Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY); Carolyn Maloney (NY)l; Cori Bush )MO); Ayanna Pressley (MA); Madeleine Dean (PA); Nydia Velazquez (NY); Barbara Lee (CA); Jackie Speier (CA); Katherine Clark (MA); Sara Jacobs (CA); Rashida Tlaib (MI); Andy Levin (MI); Alma Adams (NC); Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ); Veronica Escobar (TX); Ilhan Omar (MN); and Jan Schakowsky (IL)

But there was an update by the U.S. Capitol Police:

UPDATE: We made a total of 34 arrests for Crowding, Obstructing or Incommoding (DC Code § 22–1307).
That arrest number includes 16 Members of Congress.

Video footage captured by Doug Blair fo The Daily Signal and Bernadette Hassan shows police escorting a smiling, bug-eyed  New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) away from the court as lively band music can be heard in the background.

The New York Democrat held her hands behind her back pretending to be arrested, pumps a fist in the air in honor of dead babies everywhere, and then returns her hands behind her back but didn't really get arrested, just like she wasn't really anywhere near the Jan. 6 "insurrection."

The move prompted immediate amusement from her critics online.

Republican communicator Matt Whitlock tweeted: “Have to wonder if any of the protesters alongside her ever thought ‘wait .. aren’t you an elected member of Congress with the power to pass legislation on this issue? Why are you over here protesting? Pass a bill!'”

“She pretends to be handcuffed, raises her fist in a salute, and then goes back to pretending to be handcuffed,” tweeted strategist Greg Price.

Explanation: she believes people didn't notice.

Taliban shoots over crowd to end protests in Kabul--journalist arrested

This is a softer, gentler Taliban, a bunch of guys who are looking to change their image, not the terrorists as to how we referred to them.

Now, instead of beheading people on camera or stoning women for showing an ankle bone or wrist, instead of shooting folks in the face for their religious reasons, they shoot over the heads of protesters--and who cares where the bullets may fly after they pull the trigger. And fire shots they did on Tuesday in order to disperse the crowd who gathered at rallies in Kabul. This is the most recent signs of defiance by Afghans against the Taliban.

Afghanistan’s new Islamic rulers have yet to form a government, but it's a good bet that not much will have changed since their last reign from 1996 to 2001. Those were the days when the Taliban publicly executed people and cut off the hands of thieves for stealing food or even gum.

“Afghan women want their country to be free. They want their country to be rebuilt. We are tired,” protester Sarah Fahim told AFP at one rally outside the Pakistani embassy, where more than 70 people, mostly brave women, had gathered.

“We want that all our people have normal lives. How long shall we live in this situation?” the 25-year-old said, being too young to remember what it was like when these scumwafers were in charge.

The crowd, in stark contrast to Portland, OR antifa and BLM rioters, merely held up banners and chanted slogans. They are frustrated with security and free passage out of the sandbox known as Afghanistan. They are also upset with Pakistan for getting involved as they have always had close ties to the Taliban.

And the US keeps sending Pakistan money so they can provide gifts for their Taliban friends. Many of those "gifts" killed Americans over the years. They have also provided a safe haven for the Taliban

Pakistan’s intelligence chief Faiz Hameed was in Kabul this weekend, reportedly to be briefed by his country’s ambassador but you can bet he also met with Taliban officials.

Scattered demonstrations have also been held in smaller cities in recent days, including in Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif where women have demanded to be part of a new government. They have as much chance of that happening as OJ has of catching Nicole's killer.

Several Afghan journalists who were covering a demonstration that began at the Pakistani embassy were arrested by the Taliban, witnesses and Afghan media outlets said. 

Why it's almost as if the Taliban is transitioning into Twitter.

An Afghan journalist who was among those detained and was later freed told The Associated Press he was punished by the Taliban. “They made me rub my nose on the ground and apologize for covering the protest,” he said, speaking on condition of anonymity for fears for his safety. “Journalism in Afghanistan is getting harder,” he added. 

Afghanistan’s TOLOnews TV channel said its cameraman Wahid Ahmadi was among those arrested.

An Afghan journalist covering the demonstration told AFP his press ID and camera were confiscated by the Taliban.

“I was kicked and told to go away,” he said.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the Taliban had reiterated a pledge to allow Afghans to freely depart Afghanistan. And if Blinken is winking and giving a nod to it, he's as clueless as a leftist living in Yaheppets, whose TV is stuck on CNN.

The Taliban told the United States that “they will let people with travel documents freely depart,” Blinken told a news conference in Doha where he and the other useless Biden flunky, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, met their Qatari opposite numbers.

The only way the Taliban is going to abide by their "word" is if we bribe them with taxpayer money, assuming we haven't already done so.

The Taliban asserts that women will be allowed to attend university as long as classes are segregated by sex, or even divided by a curtain. Sharia law demands modesty be enforced upon penalty of death by stoning. According to sharia, pregnant women will not be stoned until after they deliver their baby and then look out!

But if you believe these clowns will permit women to obtain a higher education than men, especially Taliban men [who know slightly more than a camel], then get your TV fixed and get off that island and sail to reality. 

Women in Islam have about the same rights as those camels aforementioned.

Seattle Police arrest 4 protesters during downtown march

A cozy fire at a mostly peaceful protest in sleepy Seattle

Seattle police arrested at least four mostly peaceful protest march in beautiful downtown Seattle on a Saturday afternoon.

Three of the mostly peaceful people were arrested for obstruction and resisting arrest, about the dumbest thing a person can do. A fourth person was arrested for carrying an illegal fixed blade knife and he didn't bring his lunch with him.

The protesters, much like their IQs, were between 25 and 33 years old.

The three who were arrested allegedly interfered with officers who were trying to arrest another mostly peaceful protester who was wanted for an alleged assault of another individual. Due to the interference by the three anus brains, the alleged assaulter was able to escape, police said. 

The current protest commemorates one year since George Floyd likely died of a drug overdose while being detained by police for allegedly trying to pass a twenty dollar bill to purchase stuff. It also comes after Floyd stuck a gun in the belly of a woman while his other buddies robbed her as her young child looked on. It also comes after Floyd's ninth arrest.

Due to the media pressure, the officer who used a perfectly legal method with his knee on the side of the subject's neck, was convicted of murdering Floyd.

The protests marked the one-year anniversary of the death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer who was convicted of his murder last month.

The protesters were booked into the King County Jail, which is no big deal as they will soon be released on their own incompetence.

“I know for me personally, I’m going to continue to wear a mask in public and I’m going to encourage others to do so,” Lightfoot told Ruhle. “We’ve got to make sure that people are continuing to follow the public health guidance that has gotten us this far, and masks, I think, are a big and important part of that.”

Lightfoot said on Tuesday afternoon that her decision to continue to encourage people to wear masks was not based on distrust of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“But I think their guidance last week regarding masks has people confused…We need clarification,” Lightfoot said. “We still have a long way to go to hit the critical mass (of vaccinations) or herd immunity. I don’t want people to have false confidence.”

“To say, ‘If you’re vaccinated, you don’t have to wear a mask,’ that’s great. But what about all of the other people who are out there that aren’t vaccinated?” Lightfoot added. “There’s no way to know that. So I think for the time being, most people are gonna continue to wear masks outside of their homes.”

U.S. Border Patrol arrest 11 Iranian nationals at US-Mexico border

Eleven Iranian nationals were arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents at the border with Mexico were illegal aliens are pouring in faster than maple syrup on Michael Moore's pancakes. The arrests took place on a bridge near San Luis, Arizona. [H/T Daily Mail]

"There were five women, ages 28, 30, 35, 35 and 37, who were arrested," KPNX reported. "Four men, ages 24, 31, 36 and 43, were taken into custody along with two boys, ages 10 and 2. These people had previously lived in Iran."

None of the young men were armed nor were they wearing suicide vests.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesperson told the outlet that they didn't know why the group was attempting to illegally enter the United States and the group hasn't yet been fully processed and interviewed They are now at Yuma Station for this processing.

"Yuma Sector agents regularly encounter people from all over the world, including Special Interest Countries," the USCBP statement explained. "Agents adjudicate each arrest in accordance with law and policy in order to secure our nation's borders."

Under the Biden administration this very well might change and anyone will be allowed into the U.S. with full benefits and a Covid vaccine. Meanwhile, as the crowd flows in, they have not been vaccinated as far as we can know.

In the 2021 fiscal year, Yuma Sector agents have apprehended 14 nationals from Iran. In 2020, eight Iranians were arrested by Yuma Sector agents. In all cases, no Iranians were carrying weapons.

Border Patrol Chief Dave Aguilar classified the group as coming from a "special interest country." He defined "special interest countries" as "basically countries designated by our intelligence community as countries that could export individuals that could bring harm to our country in the way of terrorism."

The Department of Homeland Security describes "special interest aliens" as "non-U.S. person who, based on an analysis of travel patterns, potentially poses a national security risk to the United States or its interests. Often such individuals or groups are employing travel patterns known or evaluated to possibly have a nexus to terrorism."

The DHS encountered more than 3,000 special interest aliens at the southern Border in 2018, but with the results of the 2020 election, we can expect more to come and even be welcomed with open arms.

Last week, the Daily Mail reported: "U.S. Border Patrol agents reported a 436 percent increase in migrants apprehended in so-called stash houses near Laredo, Texas since October when compared to the same time last year. The stash houses at the Texas-Mexico border are operated by human trafficking organizations to hide undocumented immigrants."

So, if America is so racist, sexist and homophobic, why are these people risking life and limb to get in?

Standing Rock Protest Ends with a Burp

Wednesday was the deadline given by N. Dakota's Governor Doug Burgum for Dakota Access pipeline protesters to leave the Oceti Sakowin camp and maybe go find a real job.

About 100 apparently unemployed people remained at the location. Some lit "ceremonial fires" by torching structures within the camp. Some took "ceremonial dumps" on the sacred camp ground. But most of the protestors decided to leave and return to their uninteresting lives.

They marched away, playing drums and singing Kumbaya and stuff, on their final shuffle off to whence they came.

One protestor, when asked what's next replied, "I dunno. Maybe see if there's an occupy movement or something. There's lotsa things to protest about, man."

Around 5 p.m. EST, cops arrested nine hangers-on at a roadway near the camp. Burgum had previously spoke late Wednesday afternoon, warning that anyone who remained was trespassing and may be arrested.

The sheriff's department posted on their Facebook page that it received a report that two clever people were taken by ambulance to the hospital after being burned when protestors set fire to camp structures.

Protestors who left voluntarily were sent on their way by "amnesty buses" to a local family center.

The North Dakota Department of Human Services, Department of Health and Department of Emergency Services have coordinated efforts to provide taxpayer funded health screenings, food, bus tickets, gas cards or anything they could muster to get the protestors the hell out of there and on their way home to their respective basements.

The protestors did not clean up after themselves and made an enormous hypocritical environmental mess. "Was this what their mothers taught them?" one observer asked."They should be ashamed of themselves," she added.

Since the low information idiots arrived, the state has spent nearly nine million dollars policing up after them. Last year, 565 people were arrested in connection with the pipeline. Nine out of 10 demonstrators charged with a crime were from out of state.

On February 1st, an additional 76 people were arrested who tried to set up a new campsite on private land.

Law enforcement said the protestors used violence and also harassed them and their families, along with local businesses and farmers.

Although former so called president Obama was not at the sight of the protest, he was there in spirit. He had the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers deny a request for an easement needed for the pipeline's construction. But President Trump signed an executive order forcing the Army Corps to review that decision and now the pipeline is a 'go.'
