U.S. Navy captures attackers who held Israeli-linked ship

The U.S. Navy on board the destroyer USS Mason, captured a group of armed scumcrumpets who seized a tanker, the MV Central Park, in the Gulf of Aden on Monday. There had been a series of attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea and the gulf, but this put a wrench in the works in the Israel Hamas war. No Americans were injured aboard the ship.

Five armed jihadis, who had taken control of the tanker, attempted to flee the vessel after the U.S. Navy ship demanded they release the vessel and its crew, but they were caught.

CENTCOM said the U.S. Navy ship pursued the cowards and forced them to surrender, and all crew members onboard the Central Park were safe.

Two ballistic missiles were later fired into the general location of the USS Mason from the Iran-backed Houthi [sans Blowfish] rebel-controlled territory in Yemen, landing around 10 nautical miles from the ship. It's likely they missed hitting the destroyer on purpose lest it cause a serious escalation that would have sent them to a place called Smithereens.

The Central Park tanker, operated by Zodiac Maritime, was carrying a cargo of phosphoric acid with a multinational crew of 22 sailors onboard, the company said.

Zodiac Maritime is part of Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Group, although it is unclear if it was targeted by the assailants for this reason. But unless you were born yesterday, you can imagine that this may have had something to do with the attack.

Iranian-back Houthis fire on Navy destroyer

According to the Pentagon, Houthi rebels fired two missiles at a U.S. Navy destroyer during operations off the coast of Yemen on Sunday. They were either lousy shots or missed the destroyer on purpose. I go with the first one.

But a U.S. defense official said that the ship, although was not hit, was definitely targeted.

This bellicose escalation occurred only a week after our Navy sent warships to the area when a United Arab Emirates flagged auxiliary ship was destroyed off the coast of Yemen by the same Houthis.

Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said, "We assess the missiles were launched from Houthi-controlled territory in Yemen. The United States remains committed to ensuring freedom of navigation everywhere in the world, and we will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our ships and our service members."

This incident is not so much on the Houthis--it's on Iran. They're the ones who gave them the missiles and we need to reassess the nuclear deal and our relationship with these terrorists.

"In the first instance USS Mason employed onboard defensive measures, although it is unclear whether this led to the missile striking the water or whether it would have struck the water anyway," an official told Fox News.

The USS Mason was conducting routine operations in international waters when the Houthis fired the missiles, but an exact location was not given.

"Beyond that, the incident is under investigation, and we hope to have more details for you in the coming days," the official said. "We take this very seriously. We will protect our people."

Yemen's Shi'ite Muslim rebels offered no reason for the missile launches which came after a Saudi-led airstrike targeting a funeral in Yemen's capital which killed over 140 people, and wounding 525 people.
