US hits Syrian weapons facility used by Iran

The U.S. military conducted an airstrike on Wednesday in Syria on a weapons storage dump in response to numerous recent attacks targeting American military personnel in Iraq and Syria.

A pair of F-15 Eagles targeted the Maysulun weapons storage facility in eastern Syria, according to the DOD. Video footage of the military operation shows initial strikes from the jet fighters followed by secondary explosions.

"The President has no higher priority than the safety of U.S. personnel, [obtaining ice cream] and he directed today's action to make clear that the United States will defend itself, its personnel, and its interests," Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said Wednesday.

U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq and Syria have been attacked about 46 times since Oct. 17.  Many of the attacks were from drone strikes, and of these attacks, 24 were in Iraq and 22 took place in Syria. They included a mix of "suicide drones" and rockets.

Most of the terrorist attacks were cut off by military forces and failed to do any damage. But one attack killed an American contractor and since Nov. 9th, there have been 56 injuries to U.S. troops, as per U.S. defense officials.

According to Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, 25 of the injuries were traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and all service members have returned to duty. These attacks stem from the hostilities between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamassholes. The rockets have targeted U.S. and coalition forces at air bases in Iraq and other sites.

The agency said the U.S., in spite of the President being unaware of what's going on, "is fully prepared to take further necessary measures to protect our people and our facilities."

Last month, Austin called out Iran by name, blaming its leaders for the attacks and wagging an accusatory finger at the camera.

"The United States does not seek conflict and has no intention nor desire to engage in further hostilities, but these Iranian-backed attacks against U.S. forces are unacceptable and must stop," he said. "Iran wants to hide its hand and deny its role in these attacks against our forces. We will not let them. If attacks by Iran’s proxies against U.S. forces continue, we will not hesitate to take further necessary measures to protect our people."

Meanwhile, the war against evil terrorists rages on.

Another Kamala staffer has had enough

Perhaps it's time to remove the door to Vice President Kamala Harris' office and put a turnstile in its place instead. Communications Director Jamal Simmons is slated to be leaving next month after only a year working for Harris, a woman who screwed her way to the top and became VP by virtue of her epidermal pigmentation, according to Politico.

“Working for Vice President Harris has been an honor and a privilege,” Simmons lied. “I’m so thankful for the confidence she put in me and I will miss this fantastic team more than anything.”

And if you believe that, you might be smoking too much crack.

Simmons, a veteran Democratic communications aide, intends to move to New York to endanger himself and his family. It was not immediately clear who will replace him as comms director but as long as it's a leftist, it doesn't matter. [See John Fedderman and Joseph Biden, for examples.]

Since becoming Vice President in 2020 [because Joe Biden wanted a black woman and chose one who referred to him in a debate as a racist] the Harris office has been emptying out faster than rats on the Titanic. It leads one to wonder what kind of working environment she has created to cause the "exodus," as The Washington Post put it in 2021

Symone Sanders, Harris' senior adviser and chief mouthpiece, departed at the end of last year, the Post reported, and it claimed as Harris had to deal with claims of dysfunction among staff as well as messaging problems with criticism of her on many issues, including her total lack of effort to deal with the problems the country still faces at the southern border.

Harris' speech writer Meghan Groob, policy adviser Rohini Kosoglu, Communications Directorr Ashley Etienne and Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh along with others, also abandoned ship.

Lorraine Voles, Harris’ chief of staff, said in an email to staff on Friday that Simmons had originally agreed to stay for a year to help her “steady the [sinking] ship.” During time on the so-called Titanic, he helped to build Harris' “digital presence and building relationships with national, regional and constituency media,” she added.

He also advised her not to drink milk when asked a question as her laughter level would likely cause it to shoot from her nose.
