GA whistleblowers to testify against Fulton County DA Fani Willis

The misconduct investigation began Friday against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, the woke DA who brought the election interference case against former President Donald Trump.

State Sen. Bill Cowsert (R) chaired a meeting of the Georgia Senate Special Committee on Investigations. He revealed incredible information that multiple whistleblowers from Willis' office have come forward to testify against their boss. 

The senator alleged that Willis misused the state and federal funds, which comes after she admitted to having a sexual relationship with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor she hired and who had no experience in the type of case he was hired for--RICO cases.

"This is not a political witch hunt; this is a quest for the truth," Cowsert said at Friday's meeting, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.

Trump and attorneys also agree that Willis needs to be disqualified over the allegations, and believes that all charges against them be dismissed.

Last month, Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the case, filed court documents alleging that Willis had been having an "improper" affair with Wade, whom she hired to help prosecute Trump and others. Roman and his lawyers argue that the relationship with the married Wade created a conflict of interest. Moreover, Willis benefitted financially from the relationship with expensive vacations she and Wade too using the legal funds her office paid his firm. 

Golly gee, it sort of sounds reminiscent of the Biden family situation.

Willis has called the allegations "salacious" and said they have no "merit," though she admitted in a court filing that she and Wade have been "professional associates and friends since 2019." 

House Republicans have now subpoenaed Willis to testify on separate allegations that she misused federal funds and fired a whistleblower in her office. Responding, her office said, "These false allegations are included in baseless litigation filed by a holdover employee from the previous administration who was terminated for cause. The courts that have ruled found no merit in these claims. We expect the same result in any pending litigation."

Georgia Republicans are leading their own investigation over the objections of Democrats who say Willis' critics are politically motivated. [Democrats would defend the late Osama bin Laden if he had been a Democrat.]

"I think a political witch hunt or show trial would damage Georgians' faith in both our political and legal system," Democratic state Sen. Gloria Butler said, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

But Republicans have moved the case forward. 

"You lose the confidence of the public and the fairness of the criminal justice system if they think prosecutors are engaged in prosecution so their lovers can get rich," Cowsert said, and indicated that Willis may be called on to testify to the committee. "It's not a given. I will certainly give her the opportunity, and if I were her, I would want to be heard," he said.

Fani Willis' defense has big problems with new filing

Fulton County GA District Attorney Fani Willis finally came clean about her affair with Nathan Wade, the prosecutor she hired in the election interference case against former President Donald Trump. Although she was boffing the married Wade, she denied allegations of misconduct and claimed that there was no evidence that her relationship with Wade impacted the case.

Wade, as it turns out, has no experience in RICO cases for which Trump was indicted.

However, the attorney representing Michael Roman who is Trump's co-defendant, totally annihilated Willis' defense in a new court filing. 

“Let us be clear: if Mr. Roman had not uncovered the now-admitted personal relationship between Willis and Wade, no one may have ever known about it,” the filing states. “That raises the obvious and important question: If they had nothing to hide in the first place because they did nothing wrong, then why did they intentionally not tell anyone about it until they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar?”

Perhaps because Wade was married and filed for divorce the day after he got the job from his paramour.

But the kicker is that the filing proceeds to challenge the veracity of statements Wade made in his sworn affidavit, and that might even put his law license in jeopardy. 

“In Paragraph 31 of your affidavit, you swore that you have never cohabitated with Ms. Willis but the attached documents show you shared a king size bed with her in Aruba from November 1, 2022 until November 4, 2022,” the filing reads.

Bank records previously reported, by PJ Media clearly show that the loving couple traveled to Miami, Aruba and San Francisco together with tickets purchased in her name. Oops.

“Additionally, witnesses will testify that you cohabitated with Ms. Willis at her home in South Fulton until her father moved in with her and you then began to cohabitate at the apartment of a friend of hers in East Point,” the filing continues. “Additionally, witnesses will testify that you cohabitated with Ms. Willis at an AirBNB in Hapeville that was paid for by tax payer money to serve as a ‘safe house’ for you and Ms. Willis.”

Roman insists in the filing that Wade “has given this Court and the public no reason to take his word” about his experience and qualifications. After the affair was discovered it was revealed that Willis paid Wade more than his counterparts, despite his lack of RICO case experience.

“If his experience is so significant then he should welcome the opportunity to testify as to the specifics of the cases he has tried and enjoy the candid transparency that would bring to the process instead of hiding behind an unsubstantiated claim that he has ‘tried complex’ matters including murder, rape, armed robbery, aggravated assault and drug trafficking,” Roman stated.

In a statement issued Friday, Trump's attorney Steve Sadow contended that Willis’s admission of the affair was designed to prevent the scheduled hearing on February 15th, where the allegations were going to be addressed. 

“While the DA admits to an intimate relationship with her employee Special Asst. DA Wade, she fails to provide full transparency and necessary financial details,” Sadow said. “Indeed, she says absolutely nothing about the so-called ‘coincidence’ of Wade filing for divorce the day after the DA hired him!”

It seems that anyone in power with Trump Derangement Syndrome ends up with bigger problems.

Georgia DA going after Trump: subpoenaed in another case she may not have anticipated

Fani Willis, Georgia's Fulton County District Attorney, has now been subpoenaed in the divorce case of her paramour, Nathan Wade, the man with whom she is not only sharing a bed, but has selected him to be the special prosecutor against former President Donald J. Trump. So she is not merely sharing a bed with Wade, but is also sharing some of the financial benefits he has received as payment in the case.

Willis is the top cheese in a RICO case against Trump and several of his top associates for alleged election interference. However, it isn't looking too kosher for Willis now that her relationship with Wade has come out from under the rock that they've been hiding it. 

Had Willis not benefitted from hiring Wade in the Trump case it would not have looked so sleazy, aside from the affair. The loving couple allegedly took extravagant vacations together with the money Wade's firm was paid working on the RICO case. Records show that Wade received about $654,000 in legal fees, which either Willis or Wade had to authorize.

The Wall Street Journal reported that on Monday, Willis' office received a subpoena requesting she testify in the Wade divorce case between him and his wife, Joycelyn. Divorce was initially file in November 2021.

The subpoena was reportedly delivered by a process server a mere few hours before former Trump campaign official Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the RICO case, filed a motion alleging misconduct by Willis and Wade, in part for their “improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case.”

Roman’s lawyer Ashleigh Merchant suggested Willis’ hiring of Wade was never approved by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, as required. Merchant said she reviewed the minutes of every meeting the board held from the time Willis took office, but found no record of Wade’s contract being discussed, the Journal report noted.

Roman’s motion cites sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney who say the pair are in an ongoing romantic relationship and calls for the disqualification of Willis, her office, and Wade from the Trump case.

Former DeKalb County District Attorney Bob Wilson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that DAs in high-profile cases like this one must be extremely careful with their actions, though he refused to comment directly on the allegations facing Willis to avoid being canceled.

“Everything you do must be done according to the law,” he told the paper. “Everyone who works on a case like this must conduct themselves at the highest professional level. Otherwise, you can become the issue and that can derail your case.”

Appointing Wade to handle the RICO case was a stupid move when Willis has several attorneys in her office who could have easily handled the case but with whom she was not sharing a bed. And Wade, the father of two, is not even qualified to handle this case as he never actually prosecuted a felony RICO case before.

Did Georgia DA have a relationship with prosecutor she hired? Trump co-defendant says yes

Fani Willis, the Georgia District Attorney, brought the case against former President Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants. The complaint is that they all allegedly engaged in a criminal conspiracy to overturn the results of the presidential election in Georgia.

On Monday, Michael Roman, on of Trump's co-defendants, filed a document with the court alleging that Willis hired her romantic partner to prosecute the case and then she benefitted financially from the relationship.

The public filing alleges that special prosecutor Nathan Wade, a private attorney, paid for extravagant vacations he took with Willis using the Fulton County funds his law firm received. It also is shown in the county records that Wade has been paid almost $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022. Wade had a major role in the election interference case.

The filing alleges that Willis and Wade have been involved in a romantic relationship that began before Wade was appointed special prosecutor. It says they traveled together to Napa Valley and Florida, and they cruised the Caribbean using tickets Wade purchased from Norwegian and Royal Caribbean cruise lines — although the filing did not include documentation of those purchases.

The document offers no concrete proof of the romantic ties between Willis and Wade, but says “sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney have confirmed they had an ongoing, personal relationship.”

Even the Comedy News Network (CNN) reported more about the filing’s allegations:

In the filing, the attorneys allege Willis “violated her own county’s ethical standards and created an impermissible conflict of interest” when she hired Wade as a special prosecutor in the Georgia case “without obtaining approval prior to appointing him.”

The attorneys also say Wade is being paid far more than other prosecutors in her office and that they used the money to take vacations together to Napa Valley, Florida and the Caribbean. They allege Willis “never had legal authority to appoint” Wade in the first place and that she bypassed normal procedures for such hires.

“Wade is being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to prosecute this case on her behalf,” the attorneys write in the filing. “In turn, Wade is taking Willis on, and paying for vacations across the world with money he is being paid by the Fulton County taxpayers and authorized solely by Willis.”

If it looks like corruption, smells like corruption, talks like corruption, it's a duck. At the very least, the optics for Willis and Wade suck.

Legally, this will probably not have much effect on Trump's case, but we need to wait and see.
