Portland City Commish said 911 calls are unnecessary: Guess who she called when her ride was canceled

You cannot make this up--the hypocrisy would be infuriating if it wasn't so hysterically funny.

Jo Ann Hardesty, Portland's City Commissioner, pushed to defund the police in her city and claimed most 911 calls are unnecessary. In other words, if a crime wasn't being committed or about to be, or a medical emergency or any other serious emergency required immediate assistance, do not, absolutely do not call 911.

She forgot she said the "not" word.

When Hardesty's Lyft driver tried to cancel her ride and drop her off at a gas station, she called 911. She probably calls 911 if her dough doesn't rise or she breaks a nail.

Fox News, a newly left wing news outlet, reported that Hardesty allegedly demanded that Lyft driver, Richmond Frost, roll the windows up because she said she was cold. But due to COVID-19, Lyft instructed its drivers on how to handle the situation. The instructions they all received state clearly: “Roll down the windows during trips and / or use the car’s vents to bring in fresh outside air. Avoid using the recirculated air option for the car’s ventilation.”

Joe Biden would be proud of Frost and of Lyft for doing their small part to end the China virus.

“Hardesty, who heads up Portland’s 911 system, had been picked up from ilani Casino in Washington when the series of disagreements began,” according to The Daily Mail.

The Portland Tribune noted that “Hardesty has pushed to cut the police budget noting that many 911 calls are unnecessary, and police response often not needed.”

Except in her case because Hardesty's life matters; not so much for Frost's job.

Hardesty called 911, followed by Frost doing the same. In Hardesty’s call the exchange went like this:

HARDESTY: Well, I’ve got a Lyft driver that decided he would just drop me off at a filling station. Well, I’m not getting out of the car, in the dark, at a filling station, not happening. All because I asked him to put the window up. But I’m not leaving. He says I have to get out of his car or he’s calling the police. So I decided to call for him.

911 OPERATOR: Okay. I mean, technically, it’s his property and you have a civil agreement. There’s no crimes involved.

HARDESTY: Well, he said he was calling the cops.

911 OPERATOR: It’s not a crime to call the cops.

Hardesty started to speak, prompting the 911 operator to ask, “What was that?”

HARDESTY: I said, I am not going to allow him to leave me on the side of the road. I paid for a ride and he says he canceled it, so I’m just going to sit here until he sends me another ride.

FROST: I can’t send you a ride.

911 OPERATOR: Only you can order another ride.

HARDESTY: This is not a police issue? Then I won’t hang up, but I’m not getting out of this car in the dark.

911 OPERATOR: Do you understand that only you can order another ride?

HARDESTY: Well, I didn’t cancel the ride; he canceled the ride.

911 OPERATOR: Which is his obligation as a human being on the basis he has a right to cancel a contract like that. It’s not a crime; part of your user license agreement when you accept taking rides with strangers. So I can have an officer come out but they’re not going to be able to make him stay there.

HARDESTY: I mean, he can’t go anywhere cause I’m not moving until another car comes.

911 OPERATOR: So I can have officers come out. Where are you?

HARDESTY: I don’t know where I am. Apparently I’m at the Chevron.

911 OPERATOR: In what city?

HARDESTY, prompted by Lyft: In Richfield.

911 OPERATOR: What’s your name?

HARDESTY: My name is Jo Anne Hardesty.

911 OPERATOR: All right. We’ll have officers come out.

Frost’s call started with him alerting the 911 operator where he was and who he was. Then this exchange followed:

FROST: I got a customer where I canceled the ride. I’m a ride-share driver and I canceled the ride. And I’m taking her off the freeway to the filling station so she can order another ride. I canceled the ride so that he could no longer involve or engage with me; she’s refusing to get out of my car. I’ve attempted to tell her she’s not going to get another ride; she can perfectly do that, get another driver but she’s refusing to do that.

911 OPERATOR: And she’s in your car now? Are you in there with her?

FROST: Yes. I’m sitting in the front seat; she’s in the back seat. I can step out of the vehicle if you’d like me to do that.

911 OPERATOR: Oh, no, no, no. That’s okay. And she’s already called us. Is that right?

FROST: Yes. She called.

911 OPERATOR: Okay. We do have a call entered in Richfield A police officer is dispatching a call as of right now unless they get diverted for another emergency or what-not they should be coming to you. Has she any weapons or anything like that on there?

FROST: I doubt it.

911 OPERATOR: Okay.

After asking for identification again, the 911 operator asked, “She hasn’t been violent or anything like that, right?”

FROST: No. She’s just refusing to get out of the car.

Hardesty later lied to the Portland Tribune, “I don’t call 911 lightly, but I certainly am not going to do anything that would put my personal safety at risk. I knew that having him call the police would put me in danger. And that’s why I proactively called 911. It’s a lot harder when you are black or brown in America to make that decision … But I ultimately had very limited options.”

It's always about race when you're a leftist.

Frost said, “I spent 40 years in the service business. There’s always a few people, you cannot please them no matter what you do,” adding that the 911 call from Hardesty “was so unnecessary … To argue and belittle and to treat me the way I felt she treated me was completely unnecessary.”

Hardesty claimed that the Chevron station was about to close, stating, “I didn’t know how long I would have to wait. There was no way I was going to get out on the side of the road, in the dark, because some driver has an attitude, and decided I should just get out and just whatever happens happens.”

Hardesty stated in her complaint to Lyft, according to The Daily Mail: “’I requested a ride, the driver came to the wrong pick up location, He then blamed me. I asked him to roll the window up on my side and he started to yell, ‘I can’t because the regulations require each window to be cracked.’ He then pulls over in the dark on the side of a gas station and told me he was cancelling the ride. I had no interest in being left on the side of the road by an angry driver. He threatened to call the police. I called the police & another car. Both arrived at the same time. It is totally inappropriate to expect a woman to get out of a vehicle in the dead of night because any angry person demands it. This is a safety issue for your customer. Your driver was in no danger.”

It was also a safety issue for the driver, who actually owns the car.

Lyft replied: “The feedback alleged that you refused to exit the driver’s vehicle after they requested you do so. As a reminder, drivers are free to end a ride for any reason as long as the drop off is in a safe location. Safety is our top priority. We take these matters very seriously. We encourage everyone using Lyft to be respectful of others. This helps maintain a safe and inclusive community. Please know that future reports of this nature may lead to additional action being taken on your account.”

You gotta love Lyft for taking the driver's side. Hardesty is obviously a hypocritical fool who believes she's entitled to be treated like royalty. It's unknown whether or not she has COVID-19 but Frost evidently is covid-free.

Flaming hypocrisy from a flaming socialist, naturally

New York Socialist Democrat [aka: socialist] Alexandria Nina Pinta Santa Maria Ocasio-Cortez verbally supports Yellow Cabs in the city, but financially supports Uber, Lyft, and Juno, according to her campaign receipts submitted to the Federal Election Commission. She doesn't actually use Yellow taxi cabs, she just pretends she does and cares about the drivers mental health.

The bug-eyed socialist blames the three innovative companies for the hardships faced by Yellow taxi cab drivers, and even blames them for a suicide of one of them. But she doesn't actually support Yellow taxi cab companies by using their service--she only gives lip service.

Between July and the end of September, her campaign spent almost $4,500 on rides with Uber, Lyft and Juno. The campaign spent zilch point nada on Yellow cabs. She evidently has no shame because she has no humility, and the recent figures show that she isn't ashamed of using the services she criticizes for exploitation [aka: providing people jobs they otherwise might not have] and triggering major depression. [She probably got a "B" in Psych 101.]

Ocasio-Cortez regularly attacks the ride-hailing apps because they underpay its drivers, she claims, and calls their pay "exploitation." If they don't get a minimum of $15 an hour, they aren't getting a living wage.

Except the drivers know the deal and accept it--many drive for Uber et al, as a second job.

Ocasio-Cortez blamed Uber for the suicide of Doug Schifter, a Yellow taxi cab driver who killed himself with a shotgun. He had financial difficulties because the other companies offered New York with alternative and cheaper options that taxis do.

"NYC's fourth driver suicide. Yellow cab drivers are in financial ruin due to the unregulated expansion of Uber. What was a living wage job now pays under minimum," the socialist tweeted, clearly hating innovation and progress and blaming the suicide of those who obviously had mental issues.

But the hypocrite Ocasio-Cortez spent nearly $4,000 on Uber and $2,500 on Juno between April and late June when she beat Joe Crowley in the New York Democratic primary.

When her campaign realized it was outed, it cut excessive spending on Uber trips, spending only $500 in the last quarter, but the cut was offset by Lyft expenses in which the campaign spent $2,700 on rides with the company.

And her campaign kept using Juno, spending almost $1,200 for 50 rides.

So Ocasio-Cortez is no better than any other socialist. She talks out of the side of her mouth and uses your money like a drunken sailor on Cinderella Liberty.

'Unite the Right' may have to walk and go hungry at rally on Sunday

The "alt-right" is the same as the far left and Antifa. They are filled with hate and have a combined IQ of a retarded worm. "Unite the Right" is one of those rallies in which groups of white supremacists plan to go to Washington D.C. on Sunday and probably get involved with busting Antifa heads and vice versa.

More than two-dozen hate-crime charges were filed against the suspect in the Charlottesville car attack that killed counter-protester Heather Heyer.

White supremacists and white nationalists will be in D.C. for the second "Unite the Right" rally, but they may have to walk and bring along their own food because Uber and Lyft may refuse them rides if they are harassed or threatened, and local D.C. restaurants may refuse them service.

In preparation for the event near the White House, Uber and Lyft told their drivers that they have the right to kick a passenger out of their car if problems exist with their behavior.

One would think this would go without saying.

Also, the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington sent a toolkit to restaurateurs regarding their legal rights to refuse service to white nationalists and other political fringe groups [aka Antifa, democratic socialists], The Washingtonian reported.

Twitter also suspended many accounts associated with the Proud Boys, a group of right wing chauvinists on Friday on the eve of the anniversary of the deadly "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, according to The Guardian.

Airbnb had previously threatened to ban hosts who participate in the rally, Fox News reported.

"When we identify and determine that there are those who would be pursuing behavior on the Airbnb platform that would be antithetical to the Airbnb Community Commitment, we seek to take appropriate action, which may include removing them from the platform," the company said in a state to Fox News.

"Unite the Right" scumcrumpet Jason Kessler obtained a permit for Lafayette Park across from the White House. He expects about 400 low IQ  racists to show up.

The first "Unite the Right" rally was held in Charlottesville, Virginia August 12, 2017. It resulted in violent clashes between white supremacists, counter-protesters, and violent Antifa fascists. This was the event in which Heather Heyer was mowed down by a car that went crashing into the crowd to intentionally hurt or kill counter-protesters.

"Regardless of event, drivers are advised to follow all local laws but have the right to refuse service to riders who are disrespectful or who make them feel unsafe," Uber's message read. Lyft had a similar message to its drivers.

The Washingtonian interviewed several restaurant owners who said they will refuse service to those participating in the rally, or they may close altogether.

"Our mentality is we're going to protect each other. This is our city. Our house. Our people," Founding Farmers owner Dan Simons told The Washingtonian.

"There are times when a guest can be rude to an employee and you swap out the server. We've told our team: this isn't what that is. You don't have to be in a room with someone who's advocating for your death and enslavement," Simons added.

Ellen Kassoff Gray, who owns the Equinox restaurant in the area said she would also refuse to serve those who espouse hate.

"I'll proudly stay open and serve those who're respectful and kind. But being a Jewish restaurant owner and have a pro-Nazi group come to town, would I refuse service? Yes, I would," she said.
