House to vote on censor of Dem rep in ICE facility incident

Well, guys, it’s another day in the clown show that is Washington, D.C., and Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), is stealing the spotlight with a performance that’s equal parts audacity and denial. McIver, who apparently moonlights as a professional obstructionist, has pleaded not guilty to charges of forcibly impeding federal officers at an ICE facility back in May, in spite of the video evidence clearly showing her impeding federal officers at an ICE facility in May. 

Yes, a sitting member of Congress is accused of getting physical with law enforcement while they were doing their jobs. And not just any law enforcement, mind you, but Homeland Security agents at the Delaney Hall Federal Immigration Facility in Newark. Classy move La.

Enter Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), who's had enough of this nonsense and dropped a resolution to censure McIver and boot her from the Homeland Security Committee. "Rep. LaMonica McIver’s continued service on the Committee on Homeland Security, which is charged with oversight of Federal immigration enforcement and other national security matters, would represent a significant conflict of interest," he said. 

Translation: You can’t oversee the feds while you’re out there allegedly body-checking them. The resolution also cites House rules, specifically clause 1 of rule XXIII, which demands that members "behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House." Spoiler alert: Slamming your forearm into a federal officer doesn’t exactly scream "creditably."

So, what’s McIver’s defense? 

The old lefty handbook move: she’s playing the victim card faster than you can say "political persecution." In a statement to Axios, she sneered, "Clay Higgins is a bigot who wants to be back in the news." [Not like she's aiming for the spotlight or anything like that.]

But wait, she’s not done: "This resolution aims to kick me off the committee that presides over the Department of Homeland Security and shame me for doing the oversight work that is my job. Good luck, Clay." Oversight work? Is that what we’re calling it now? Body camera footage from the Department of Homeland Security paints a different picture, one where McIver, decked out in red, allegedly wrapped her arms around Newark Mayor Ras Baraka to block officers from arresting him, then threw in a forearm slam and a grab for good measure. Real oversight-y stuff there, Congresswoman.

McIver’s facing a three-count federal indictment for assaulting, resisting, impeding, and interfering with federal officers during what was supposed to be a congressional oversight visit, coincidentally timed with an immigration protest. When agents told Baraka to leave a secured area, McIver apparently decided it was time to channel her inner WWE star. After pleading not guilty last month, she doubled down, whining, "At the end of the day this is all about political intimidation. The Trump administration and his colleagues or cronies, or whatever you want to call them, have weaponized the federal government. They weaponized the Department of Justice and anybody who stands up to them, anyone who criticizes them, anyone who fights back against them finds themselves in these hairs that we are in today." Yes, she said "hairs." And yes, she’s blaming Trump for her own decision to allegedly go hands-on with federal agents. Because of course she is.

Higgins, who’s clearly not here for the drama, told Axios he waited until just before the House's five-week recess to see if Democrats would do the right thing and yank McIver’s committee assignment themselves. Spoiler: They didn’t. House Republicans have a rule that indicted members lose all committee assignments. 

Democrats are cool with indicted members keeping their seats, as long as they don’t hold leadership roles. [Gotta love those high standards.] 

Higgins summed it up nicely: McIver "should not be participating on the committee that has oversight and voting authority over the branch of federal government that she’s been indicted for committing crimes against." Hard to argue with that, unless you’re allergic to logic.

McIver’s headed to trial on Nov. 10, and if the body cam footage is any indication, she’s got some explaining to do. But don’t hold your breath for accountability, this is D.C., where consequences are as rare as an honest politician. 

In the meantime, McIver’s out here crying "intimidation" while allegedly intimidating federal officers. The irony is as thick as Nancy Pelosi's makeup.

Democrats livid over new plan to house illegal aliens in NJ, Indiana military bases

The Democrats are at it again, poor dears, clutching their pearls and crying foul over the Trump administration’s latest move to house illegal immigrants at military bases in New Jersey and Indiana. Because apparently, using secure facilities to manage a border crisis is the height of "inhumane" behavior. 

According to Fox News Digital, the Defense Department, under Secretary Pete Hegseth, has decided to repurpose parts of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey and Camp Atterbury in Indiana as "temporary soft-sided holding facilities" for illegal aliens. You know, the kind of common-sense move you make when you’re trying to get a handle on an immigration system that’s been a hot mess for years. But New Jersey Democrats, those champions of open borders, are positively apoplectic, claiming it "jeopardizes military preparedness" and is just so mean.

Cue the kazoos.

Here’s their melodramatic joint statement, signed by Reps. Herb Conaway, LaMonica McIver, Donald Norcross, Rob Menendez, Frank Pallone, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Josh Gottheimer, Nellie Pou, and Sens. Cory Booker and Andy Kim:

"This is an inappropriate use of our national defense system and militarizes a radical immigration policy that has resulted in the inhumane treatment of undocumented immigrants and unlawful deportation of U.S. citizens, including children, across the country. Using our country’s military to detain and hold undocumented immigrants kindizes military preparedness and paves the way for ICE immigration raids in every New Jersey community. We have the greatest military in the world and using it as a domestic political tool is unacceptable and shameful."

"Kindizes military preparedness"? Did they mean "jeopardizes"? Someone get these folks a proofreader. And let’s not miss the irony here: these are the same people who cheered when the Biden administration used these very bases to house thousands of Afghan refugees in 2021 after the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal. Back then, it was all humanitarian kumbaya. Now? It’s a war crime. Funny how the goalposts move when Trump’s in charge.

The Defense Department says it’s still working out when these facilities will open, depending on operational needs and coordination with Homeland Security. Hegseth, in a letter to Rep. Conaway, assured him the move won’t mess with military training or readiness. But don’t expect the Democrats to take his word for it—they’re too busy grandstanding about "inhumane treatment" while ignoring the fact that New Jersey already has privately run immigration detention centers like Delaney Hall and Elizabeth Detention Center. Oh, and speaking of Delaney Hall, let’s not forget when Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Rep. LaMonica McIver got themselves arrested there in May for clashing with federal immigration officials. Real profiles in courage, those two.

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, a massive 42,000-acre tri-service base, and Camp Atterbury, a 34,000-acre Army and Air National Guard facility, are apparently too sacred to be used for anything but progressive-approved causes. Never mind that they’re perfectly suited for secure, temporary housing while the government processes migrants for asylum hearings or deportation. Nope, to the Democrats, this is “militarizing” immigration policy. Meanwhile, they’re silent on the $150–$170 billion Big Beautiful Bill Trump signed two weeks ago, which includes $45 billion to expand detention facilities as part of the largest deportation operation in U.S. history. You’d think they’d have bigger fish to fry than whining about a couple of military bases.

And let’s not forget the cherry on top: the Trump administration’s new "Alligator Alcatraz" detention camp in the Florida Everglades, surrounded by—you guessed it—alligators. If that doesn’t scream “America’s back,” I don’t know what does. Naturally, the same Democrats throwing a tantrum over New Jersey and Indiana haven’t said a peep about that one. Probably too busy drafting their next sanctimonious press release.

So, here we are: Democrats are mad that the government is using secure, existing facilities to enforce immigration laws, but they’re fine with military bases being used for their pet projects. It’s almost like the outrage is selective. Shocker.

Trump DOJ Puts Muslim Commie NYC Mayoral Hopeful Zohran Mamdani on Notice Over His Racist, Anti-White Housing Scheme

Zohran Mamdani, the poster boy for the Democrats’ slide into insanity, just stepped in it big time. This Muslim communist running for NYC mayor rolled out a housing plan so blatantly racist, so clearluy anti-white, it could make Al Sharpton blush. And now, Trump’s DOJ is circling like sharks smelling blood.

As conservative site, The Gateway Pundit laid bare, Mamdani’s grand idea to “fix” New York City is a property tax hike targeting “richer and whiter neighborhoods.” 

Yes, you read that right. His policy memo, ‘Stop the Squeeze on NYC Homeowners,’ vows to tackle a “deeply inequitable system, using the full power of the mayor’s office to both address the system directly and working with legislators at the state level to win necessary reforms” by “shift[ing] the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.” 

If you swapped “whiter” for “blacker,” the X platform would explode, and the media would be screaming from every rooftop. But when it’s open season on white folks, all you get is crickets from the left. It’s not just tolerated, it’s practically a party plank.

This isn’t some feel-good “equity” nonsense. It’s communism with a side of racial resentment. And what’s Mamdani planning to bankroll with this discriminatory cash grab? Try $65 million in taxpayer dollars for “gender affirming care,” including gender mutilation for kids. Because nothing says “progress” like taxing people based on their skin color to fund irreversible procedures for minors. 

Thankfully, Trump’s DOJ isn’t sleeping on this one. 

Conservative firebrand Benny Johnson flagged the story, and DOJ Assistant AG Harmeet Dhillon came out swinging. She laid it down plain: “Racial discrimination is illegal in the United States, period. Full stop!” Dhillon didn’t mince words, warning that Mamdani’s “illegal discriminatory scheme” would violate federal law, the Constitution, and probably New York law too. That’s a legal smackdown waiting to happen.

If Mamdani somehow slithers into the mayor’s office and tries to push this garbage, he might find himself in cuffs faster than you can say “perp walk.” The Trump DOJ’s already shown they’re not playing around with Dems flouting federal law—just ask Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), who got a taste of justice. Now picture the mayor of America’s biggest city getting hauled off in handcuffs. The meltdown on X would be legendary.

LaMonica McIver Steps Deeper Into the 'Find Out' Phase After ICE Detention Center Fiasco

Well, folks, it looks like Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) is learning the hard way that actions have consequences, especially when you tangle with federal law enforcement. 

As HotAir had previously reported, McIver, along with fellow New Jersey House members Robert Menendez Jr. and Bonnie Watson Coleman, decided to play activist at the Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark back in May. Their mission? Some vague claim of "oversight." But their mission ended in a chaotic showdown with Newark's Democrat Mayor Ras Baraka in handcuffs and McIver staring at a federal indictment.

Local reports laid out the scene: the trio tried to breeze past the facility’s first checkpoint, only to be stopped cold. Not one to be outdone, Baraka attempted a sneaky side-entrance maneuver, which didn’t exactly win him any points with the feds. 

Things got heated like a wild train jumping the tracks, as the Democrats clashed with ICE officials. Video evidence surfaced, allegedly showing McIver getting physical with officers, which prompted the Trump administration to warn that charges could be coming. And sure enough, they weren’t kidding.

The three Dems, predictably, cried foul. Watson Coleman even let slip a damning admission, essentially confessing they were trying to shield Baraka from the consequences of his stunt. Whoops. That didn’t stop the DOJ from lowering the boom. 

On May 19, U.S. Attorney Alina Habba announced charges against McIver for “assaulting, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement” under Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1). McIver’s response was to call the charges “purely political,” accusing the DOJ of trying to “criminalize and deter legislative oversight.” Sure, Congresswoman, it’s all a vast conspiracy to stop your noble quest for… what, exactly?

Fast forward to Tuesday, and the hammer dropped harder. Habba revealed that a federal grand jury in Newark returned a three-count indictment against McIver for “forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement officers.” The potential penalties are a maximum of eight years for Count One, another eight for Count Two, and a year for Count Three. 

Habba didn’t mince words: “Today a federal grand jury seated in Newark, New Jersey returned a three-count indictment charging U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver with forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement officers. This indictment has a maximum penalty of 8 years for Count One, an additional maximum penalty of 8 years for Count Two, and a maximum penalty of 1 year in prison for Count Three. As I have stated in the past, it is my Constitutional obligation as the Chief Federal Law Enforcement Officer for New Jersey to ensure that our federal partners are protected when executing their duties. While people are free to express their views for or against particular policies, they must not do so in a manner that endangers law enforcement and the communities those officers serve.Today’s decision by the grand jury is the next step in a process that my Office will pursue to a just end.”

McIver, undeterred, doubled down on her defiance, issuing a statement that she “will not be intimidated” and framing the indictment as “an effort by Trump’s administration to dodge accountability for the chaos ICE caused and scare me out of doing the work I was elected to do.”

Sorry, Rep. McIver, but the “Trump’s out to get me” card doesn’t quite cover allegedly putting hands on ICE officers. Welcome to the “no one is above the law” reality show, Trump edition. You’ve officially graduated to the Find Out phase.

Rep. Nancy Mace filed to remove Rep. LaMonica McIver after assault charge at ICE detention center protest

On Wednesday, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) dropped a resolution to boot Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) out of the House after the Democrat caught a federal assault charge for allegedly throwing elbows at law enforcement during a tantrum outside a Newark immigration detention center. Yes, you read that right—a sitting congresswoman is out here scrapping with feds like it’s a bar fight at a Jersey Shore dive.

“On May 9th, McIver didn’t just break the law, she attacked the very people who defend it,” Mace said, not mincing words. “Attacking Homeland Security and ICE agents isn’t just disgraceful, it’s assault.” Preach, Nancy. If you or I pulled that stunt, we’d be cooling our heels in a cell, not posting snarky X quips.

Speaking of, McIver, who’s been repping New Jersey’s 10th District since September 2024, decided to play the victim card faster than you can say “political persecution.” She called the charges “purely political” and blamed the feds for the dust-up at the ICE facility. 

Video footage from the Department of Homeland Security shows her swinging at an ICE agent and smacking a Homeland Security Investigations officer like she’s auditioning for UFC. McIver’s response to Mace’s resolution? A sassy “In the South I think they say, ‘bless her heart,’” on X.  

Interesting. Nothing says “I’m innocent” like a passive-aggressive Southern jab.

Mace, however, isn’t here for the games. “If any other American did what she did, they’d be in handcuffs,” she fired back. “McIver thinks being a Member of Congress puts her above the law. It doesn’t.” 

And she’s got receipts—legal ones.

Acting New Jersey US Attorney Alina Habba slapped McIver with two felony counts on Monday for using force to interfere with federal agents during a chaotic protest at Newark’s Delaney Hall detention center. If convicted, McIver’s looking at up to eight years in the slammer. That’s not exactly a “get out of jail free” card. But the chance of McIver actually serving any time in prison is highly unlikely. 

Mace’s resolution points out that Congress has a history of giving the boot to members who step in it before conviction. Remember George Santos, the Long Island fabulist? The House kicked him to the curb in December 2023 after a House Ethics Committee report painted him as a walking ethics violation and he faced a 23-count federal indictment. Santos later copped to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, earning himself a seven-year vacation in federal prison. 

But don’t hold your breath for McIver’s expulsion. Mace is sending her resolution to the House Ethics Committee—because, apparently, Congress needs a committee to figure out if assaulting federal agents is bad. The measure needs two-thirds of the House to pass, and with Democrats circling the wagons, it’s about as likely as a balanced budget. 

House Dems, led by Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, are already crying foul, calling the charges “extreme,” “morally bankrupt,” and “a blatant attempt by the Trump administration to intimidate Congress.” Oh, please. Spare us the melodrama. The only thing being intimidated here is common sense.

Mace isn’t backing down. “Members of Congress swear an oath to uphold the Constitution and the laws of this country—not to obstruct them,” she said. “This isn’t a matter of partisan politics. It’s about whether we’re going to hold Members of Congress to the same legal standards as every other American.” Mic drop.

Look, when public trust in government is lower than a snake’s belly, as Mace put it, letting a congresswoman skate on assault charges isn’t exactly a confidence booster. “The evidence is clear. The charges are serious. And the public deserves to know that criminal conduct in the halls of Congress has consequences.” Here’s hoping the House grows a spine and proves her right. But knowing D.C., I’m not betting the farm on it.

DOJ charges Rep. LaMonica McIver regarding ICE incident

Rep. LaMonica McIver, (D-NJ) just got slapped with charges by the Justice Department for allegedly throwing hands and obstructing cops during a wild scene outside an immigration lockup in Newark. This went down May 9, and McIver wasn’t alone; two other New Jersey House Dems were in the mix when things popped off.

Alina Habba, the interim U.S. attorney for Jersey, dropped the news late Monday on X, no less. 

She’s not playing games. In a statement attached to her post, Habba laid it out: “I have persistently made efforts to address these issues without bringing criminal charges and have given Representative McIver every opportunity to come to a resolution, but she has unfortunately declined.” Straight-up, she’s saying McIver had her shot to settle this quietly but didn’t take it.

Habba doubled down, keeping it real: “No one is above the law – politicians or otherwise. It is the job of this office to uphold justice impartially, regardless of who you are. Now we will let the justice system work.” That’s a mic drop if I ever heard one.

Rewind to May 9—McIver rolled up to Delaney Hall with Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Dem Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman and Rob Menendez. Things got heated, and Baraka caught a trespassing charge from the feds. But plot twist: Habba says the DOJ’s dropping that misdemeanor against him. Guess he’s off the hook, but McIver? She’s got some explaining to do.
