US Navy seizes Iranian cargo ship after blowing a hole in its engine room

Trump / Roberto Schmidt / Getty Images

The U.S. Navy just delivered a swift and decisive lesson in maritime enforcement, intercepting and seizing an Iranian-flagged cargo ship that foolishly tried to run President Donald Trump's naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman.

“Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, tried to get past our naval blockade, and it did not go well for them,” Trump said in a post shared on X (and originally on Truth Social).

“The U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance intercepted the TOUSKA in the Gulf of Oman, and gave them fair warning to stop,” he said.

“The Iranian crew refused to listen, so our Navy ship stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engine room. Right now, U.S. Marines have custody of the vessel,” Trump added.

“The TOUSKA is under U.S. Treasury sanctions because of its prior history of illegal activity. We have full custody of the ship, and are seeing what’s on board!” he said.

This isn't some minor dust-up—it's a clear signal that America's renewed strength under Trump means business when it comes to choking off Iran's illicit networks. The regime in Tehran keeps testing the waters, and the U.S. Navy keeps reminding them why that's a terrible idea.

This is a breaking story and there will be more to follow.

Iran's largest warship catches fire, sinks in Gulf of Oman

Pants of fire

The largest warship the Iranian navy had caught fire for reasons unknown, and later sank Wednesday in the Gulf of Oman, and oh man, are the Iranians upset. This is one of Iran's latest screwups as tensions grow with the West.

Fortunately for the terrorists, nobody was killed from the blaze that began at 2:25 a.m. and firefighters tried to contain it but failed, the state-controlled Fars news agency, an agency similar to CNN and MSNBC reported.

Happily for us, but sadly for them, the 679-foot Kharg sank. It was used to resupply other ships in the fleet at sea and conduct training exercises. Apparently their naval trainers didn't teach the part about fire prevention.

Fars reported that 400 sailors and trainee cadets abandoned the sinking ship like rats on a, well, sinking ship. If the 400 Iranian crew, 33 suffered injuries.

The ship became a non-functioning submarine near the Iranian port of Jask, about 790 miles southeast of Tehran on the Gulf of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz — the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf.

Photos circulated on Iranian social media showed sailors wearing life jackets, clearly scared with some seemingly weeping, abandoning the boat as a fire burned behind them.

Fars published video of thick, black smoke rising from the ship early Wednesday morning. Satellites from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that track fires from space detected a blaze near Jask that started just before the time of the fire reported by Fars.

Iranian officials offered no cause for the fire aboard the Kharg, though they said an investigation had begun and they are currently looking for ways to blame the Jews, although none were sighted near the vessel at the time the fire roared.

And then there was this massive fire on Wednesday night at the oil refinery in Tehran sending plumes of black smoke over the capital city. It was also unclear in this case what caused the inferno at the Tondgooyan Petrochemical Co., as the temperatures reached 104 degrees Fahrenheit from the summer heat, and this had historically caused fires to burn.

Somehow, however, Iran will find a way to blame, who else, the Joooze!

Interestingly, the Wednesday fire aboard theKharg comes after a series of unexplained explosions began in 2019 targeting commercial ships in the Gulf of Oman. The U.S. Navy had accused Iran of using limpet mines to target these ships with timed explosives usually attached by divers to a ship's hull.

Naturally Iran denied the allegations put forth by the United States but U.S. Navy footage shows Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard terrorists removing one of the unexploded limpet mines from a ship.

So don't believe your lying eyes--it was those Joooze!

The sinking of the mighty Kharg marks the latest naval cluster***k for Iran. In 2020, during an Iranian military training exercise, a missile mistakenly struck a naval vessel near Jask, killing 19 sailors and wounding 15. Also in 2018, an Iranian navy destroyer sank in the Caspian Sea.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer group of scumcrumpets.

Iran, the bully in the pool making empty threats to U.S.

Iran claims that it will give a decisive response to any mistake made by the United States in the Gulf

Iran's Revolutionary Guard navy said in a statement that it will give a decisive response to any "mistake" by the US in the Gulf. Translation: if they decide to attack us as they once did in the past, we will virtually annihilate their puny navy, as we once did in the past.

The braggadocio was written on the Guards' news website Sepah News.

The U.S. reported last Wednesday that eleven little vessels from the Revolutionary Guards navy came suicidally close to US Navy and Coast Guard warships in the Gulf. The moves were called "dangerous and provocative," and it took all our guys had not to blow their asses out of the water and send them packing to Jannah.

"We advise the Americans to follow international regulations and maritime protocols in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman and to refrain from any adventurism and false and fake stories," Sunday's statement from the Guards navy said.

"They should be assured that the Revolutionary Guards navy and the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran sees the dangerous actions of foreigners in the region as a threat to national security and its red line and any error in calculation on their part will receive a decisive response."

The US Navy responded something like: "If they're feeling froggy, let's see them jump."

Dan Crenshaw blasts Ben Rhodes over his doubts Iran blasted vessels in Gulf of Oman

Iran evidently blew up two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, and the predictable knee-jerk reaction from the left-stream media is to blame Trump, if Iran actually did the deed, idiots like Ben Rhodes say.

As seen in intelligence video and reported by U.S. officials, an Iranian vessel removed an unexploded mine that had been attached to a Japanese-owned oil tanker which suffered serious damage after an explosion in the Gulf of Oman early Thursday.

At least one other mine attached to the hull detonated, causing the blast which forced the crew of 21 to abandon ship. It happened near the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key route for oil shipments in the region.

Ben Rhodes, the former failed novelist and aide to former failed President Barack Hussein Obama, said he questions U.S. claims that Iran attacked the oil tankers. ["After all," he might have said to himself, "why would they do such a mean thing after President Obama sent them $1.9 billion on wooden pallets and they cheerfully accepted it? It was Trump's fault that it happened anyway."]

Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas bashed Rhodes for questioning the United States' claim that Iran was responsible for the attack, in spite of visual confirmation of an Iranian-style military craft removing an unexploded mine on the damaged Japanese vessel, the Kokuka Courageous.

Rhodes, who usually fails at most things he tries, pushed for the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran and later admitted publicly that he lied about Iran's subsequent bellicose behavior after promising us that they would cease all nuclear ambitions.

Rhodes suggested that the U.S. official assessment of the tanker attacks shouldn’t be taken for granted, [i.e., believed] saying only an international investigation can get to the bottom of the incident and he would love to help with that undertaking.

“This definitely feels like the kind of incident where you'd want an international investigation to establish what happened. Huge risk of escalation,” the weasel said in a tweet.

If Iran sent an ICBM to Los Angeles, Rhodes would tell us to wait and see if it was loaded.

Rhodes' self-serving remark prompted a strong rebuttal from Crenshaw, the freshman congressman and former U.S. Navy SEAL officer. He blasted Rhodes for downplaying the danger posed by the Iranian regime and doubting the intelligence community with his own lack of intelligence.

Crenshaw tweeted:
“So, do or don’t believe the Intel community? And you’re not really a trusted source to weigh in on Iran. You sold the public the falsehood of a moderating Iranian regime - using your media ‘echo chamber’ (your words)- & ignoring the true danger Iran presents in the region."
He added:
“I’ve been watching for years as Iran moves weapons to proxies around the region, looking for opportunities to destabilize & wreak havoc, and then claim innocence. This is not new. And the Administration is right to strengthen our regional presence as a deterrence.”
Crenshaw refers to Rhodes’ now-infamous comments that the administration’s foreign policy team built an “echo chamber” of experts to help sell the horrible Iran nuclear deal.

“We created an echo chamber,” Rhodes told the New York Times Magazine in 2016 when asked about arms-control experts that appeared at think tanks and were then used as sources for hundreds of reporters – whom the article described as “clueless.”

Of those experts, Rhodes said: “They were saying things that validated what we had given them to say.”

If you take Ben Rhodes seriously and believe his bullcrap, you've got to be a liberal and get your news from MSNBC or CNN.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, a former military officer and who graduated first in his West Point class, blamed Iran for the "blatant assault" on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman earlier Thursday.

Pompeo said at a news conference: “This assessment is based on intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication.”

He said that Iran was working to disrupt the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz and that it's a deliberate action to escalate tension. He also made it clear that the U.S. would defend its forces and interests in the region, but did not elaborate.

U.S. officials released a video Friday showing what clearly appears to be Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in a gunboat removing an unexploded limpet mine from one of the vessels. This was the same type of vessel used when our U.S. sailors were taken prisoner by Iran and Obama paid them off.

According to a U.S. official (who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive information) other Iranian small boats have remained near the stricken oil tanker since the attack early Thursday. The official explained that this type of limpet mine was the same type used to damage four other tankers in the Gulf of Oman last month. And the vessel carrying the Iranian military crew is a fast inshore attack craft (FIAC) and is the same type used by Iran in the past to harass American warships in the Persian Gulf.

Make no mistake, Ben Rhodes has his personal credibility riding on the notion that Iran is innocent of these crimes, but like his failed novela, he is full of empty words.
